WTF is this shit?

I thought getting the difficulty correct would result in more accepted shares and less invalid so in theory more chances of finding a block.
Nope.

Ah ok that surprises me.

What is your opinion of the only two ports VarDiff? I saw the pool of CK only have the option of entering through diff 1024, small miners will never adjust their diff because they can not deliver any valid share periodically, I think we should keep the option of entering a low diff , you think?
Also bear in mind that adjusting diff serves only to display your hashrate and has absolutely no effect on your chance of solving a solo block on these solo pools.

Its crazy only theymos can recover lost / hacked accounts. He should give the responsibility to someone else because it looks like he's either too busy or cant be bothered anymore.

OK buddy don't blame you just thought I'd let you know Smiley.
2646  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] sp20 from canada on: January 24, 2015, 12:32:26 AM
Im looking to buy one sp20 from someone in Canada.

Hi, not sure if you know but they've recently been reduced from $595 to $479 from spondoolies direct.

Seems to be working ok?

Sorry for the disconnection, we're online again, has unexpectedly quit, I will put some control mechanism periodically with cron.

No problem Smiley.

I'm only running 1 x Asicminer Tube @ 850GH and I've tried both ports for a while each now and both are running stable. It does make it easier for people to just have 2 choices.

2650  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 21, 2015, 11:11:26 AM
Can anyone please recommend ( and possibly a link to ) a version of cgminer that will run my tube via a raspberry pi?

I recommend the latest version of Minera. The current build of cgminer should be able to handle Tubes and Prismas. Minera 4.0 also allows using your own custom builds, so you could build ASICMiner's branch and link it from the interface if you have problems with the main branch of cgminer.

ASICMiner's cgminer branch, if needed:

Thank you CrazyGuy that's much appreciated Smiley.

I just placed an order for 1 of the silverfish miners.  I'll take one for the team and see if they are legit.  I chatted with someone in support on their website last night (probably the same guy who posts in this thread).  I can't say why exactly, just got a good feeling these guys are more likely to be legit resellers of what must be an ocean of used scrypt ASICs rather than scammers, but I will keep you guys posted.

Nice from sockpuppetaccount Cheesy
2652  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Unofficial USB adapters for ASICMiner Tube/Prisma on: January 20, 2015, 11:20:15 PM
Dig around in CrazyGuy's Prisma sales threads. He's got a Minera image for the RPi that isn't terrible; I've had Prismas running with it in hosting for a while.
Ok thanks I'll have a look Smiley.

I've decided to try the adapter on a newly acquired raspberry pi model B instead of my pc, can anyone recommend software ( and ideally a link Wink ) for my tube please.

I've got some rare spare time to tinker over the next few days Smiley.

2656  Other / Meta / Re: IronMarvel Account got hacked!!! ATTENTION!!! on: January 20, 2015, 07:18:35 AM
Perhaps theymos has been busy and will get around to looking into it soon. I can vouch for IronMarvel that his account has been hacked as I've had communication with him through the new IronMarvel2 account and its definitely the same person.

It seems silly to me that only theymos that can look into hacked accounts and reset passwords, surely all he has to do is grant the same administrative permissions to some moderators and let them help out.

I know a few years ago when I ran a forum (not bitcoin related but in my industry) I had several moderators / administrators that could do this because it can be time consuming looking through each individual case.
2657  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [3 Pre-Orders Left] 5oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats on: January 20, 2015, 07:04:21 AM
Hi OgNasty I'm not sure if you're aware that one of the people on your pre-order list IronMarvel has had his account hacked. This happened on January 14th and he's still waiting for it to be resolved: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=924237.0.

He's having to use the temporary username IronMarvel2 until theymos gets around to looking at the problem which has been reported to him. If you or anyone else reading this knows theymos perhaps they can ask him to look into it for him please.
2658  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: We just crossed the 1W=1Ghash break even point. on: January 19, 2015, 06:44:03 PM
We just crossed below the profitability point for all the 1Ghash for 1W home miners out there (home meaning electricity is 10c/kWh).

I'm keeping my miners on just due to the fact they keep my room warm. End of an era for my home mining setup.

I would like to see your math because we passed this long time ago. LOL

seriouscoin, you're wrong.
Math:
1) 1 gh/s for 1W = 1000 gh/s for 1KW
2) 1000 gh/s mine 0.01144 BTC per day(https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty)
3) 0.01144 BTC  = 2.39088 USD (current btc-e price $209 per btc)
4) 1 KW * 24 hours *0.1 USD/(KW * hours) = 2.4 USD

So TheJuice was right.
QED.

Although, if you mean a relatively recent period, when the BTC cost even cheaper, then you're both right. But in any case we did not pass this a long time ago.

That's ok if you're only paying $0.1 for electricity. Here in the UK I'm paying $0.25 so for me its:

4). 1 KW * 24 hours *0.25 USD/(KW * hours) = 6 USD Shocked
2659  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: We just crossed the 1W=1Ghash break even point. on: January 18, 2015, 09:05:25 PM
I think its crunch time for lots of miners now price is this low and difficulty this high.

If my miners weren't providing some heat to offset the running costs because now it's the middle of winter they would have been switched off and sold by now. Sad times indeed....
2660  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] SoloMining.com - 0.5% fee, Charts, Stats, NOMP, Alts. on: January 18, 2015, 05:11:16 PM
I will study the inclusion anyway would not be of more propose the main developer zone117x of NOMP to include the improvement in the main project.

You can also include here his suggestion:
https://github.com/zone117x/node-open-mining-portal/pulls

Will notify you of any new.

Ok great thank you Smiley.
