2641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minereum - First Self Mining Smart Contract - TOKEN SERVICE NOW LIVE on: August 03, 2017, 10:18:41 PM
But what is the solution for the inflation in MNE2?

Well, MNE3 ofcourse.

hope it will not be mne v2 v3 v4 and etc:DD but anyway im excited about mne v2, hope dev will make it nice, but still no one knows much about it- is it will be ico or is it will be airdrop or we will be allowed to change our mne address to mne v2, hope to soon find out Smiley

It will be a swap (no airdrop, no ico) and the MNE will be burned after the swap (so Dev is not earning anything)
MNE will continue to move forward with ongoing development so it's absolutely not necessary to swap all your coins.  Just spread some over 2 and you will be just fine :-)
okey, thanks for information, but i dont think that it will be good for mne v1 price:/ so i guess a lot of mne genesys address holders will go to the mne v2, so i guess price of mne v1 will be even less than now:/
You still need to buy MNE to be able to buy MNE2. Second, MNE will not become worthless because the second version arrives. They'll probably both serve different purposes in the roadmap for Minereum to grow. We'll see what the future will bring, my friend, never worry!
2642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO - BRACE YOURSELVES on: August 03, 2017, 09:47:22 PM
I believe NEO now is what ETH was at the beginning of this year, or what BTC was 5 years ago. This project has the potential to blow up in China any day now. In the very near future, the Chinese will list NEO on all of their exchanges, and NEO will go all the way up to 50$, after which the whales and FOMO's will start pouring in, bringing its value up to 400$. This could happen within 2 years.
2643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Potential x50-x100 coins let's discuss which one we think on: August 03, 2017, 12:37:59 PM
I can think of only two, which are:
1) Minereum. Currently valued at less than 1.5$, MNE strives to become the best token creation platform out there. It's mined by a mathematical formula directly from the ETH chain. The devs are currently working on a new MNE version which will be bought exclusively from the first version, which will dramatically increase the first versions value. Besides version 2, they're building a minereum world app which will work like pokemon go, except you find MNE which you can spend on the platform and soon on stores all around the world.
The reason why I believe this coin could go to at least 50$ is because each time you buy the second version with the first, the first gets burned. This will deflate the coin rapidly, boosting its price.

2) Antshares. China's own ethereum-like platform. It's gaining massive support all around the world, and china hardly knows it exists yet. Imagine if the chinese get to trade ANS on their platforms. A 200$ Ans (now called NEO) is very likely by the end of next year, and 500$ could be achieved by 2020. I truly believe Antshares/NEO now is like Bitcoin 5 years ago.
2644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minereum - First Self Mining Smart Contract - TOKEN SERVICE NOW LIVE on: August 03, 2017, 12:23:03 PM
I seriously hope the conversion of original genesis addresses to new ones aren't another giveaways.
It can cause critical inflation and dumping. No one would want to buy them. All participants should pay mne to get new coin equally. That's the best for everyone I think.

Or offer to buy a Genesis account for ... MNE.
In this stage in development we should not work with free giveaways. Mne V2 should be bought for everyone and if somebody is interested in a mining contract it up for sale.
No translation from existing accounts to new accounts since this is bad for mne holders that did not
participate in the original airdrop

I agree, we should all be able to buy ourselves into a good position. The more we bought the original MNE (and therefore supported it), the more MNEv2 we deserve.
2645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY(LBC) price in long time ? on: August 03, 2017, 11:31:15 AM
I don't think LBRY can ever beat Youtube. They have only 1 chance: As we see from Steemit, they create a blogging platform of cryptocurrency. So LBRY may become video sharing platform of crypto. That is the best they can ever do.

Youtube is screwing over its content creators by excessively promoting childish vloggers whilst leaving the others creators out in the cold. Advertisers only want their ads on child friendly videos (because kids usually don't have ad blockers), so anything even remotely scary, obscene, or in other words mature will get very little to no ads. Even if a vlogger uses the words fuck instead of fudge they lose their ad right on that video. That's what LBRY will combat. Let's talk about artists getting fairly compensated; here in belgium we have an organisation called sabam. They go to parties and radio stations and such, asking for  money in order to pay artists like bryan adams every time 'the summer of 69' gets played. Do you think bryan adams ever gets payed for that? no, cause sabam holds almost 100% of what gets paid. Again, this is what LBRY strives to combat.

Basically, they want a platform for every video, book, movie, song, ... ever made, without censorship. We decide how much we pay. It's like patreon, but easier and cheaper, and with a lot more possible content. In the distant future, movie theaters might even disappear, as new movies get put directly onto the LBRY platform. Movie theaters keep a ton of money for themselves, meaning that for every dollar we pay, only 5 cents gets to the actual content creator. LBRY basically wants to cut out all the middle men that make content so expensive.
2646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY(LBC) price in long time ? on: August 03, 2017, 10:53:28 AM
I predict that it will be above $1.5 in the long term but we as investors should see first that their platform is being adopted then even $5 above is possible.

and so its time to buy LBRY and hold for the long time ?
I was very impressed with the LBRY platform and probably everyone saw it

a 5$ LBRY is definitely possible, but not for another 5 to 10 years i'm afraid. It takes a lot to overthrow established platforms like youtube and netflix. On the other hand, i believe the devs have announced that they're gonna launch their beta platform in the near future so who knows. I think we can all agree it could go to 1$ by the end of this year, so 5$ by the end of 2022 isn't a crazy guess.
2647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Stox - Prediction market platform | Token sale starts today! on: August 03, 2017, 10:32:40 AM
I was contemplating buying into the ICO, but I believe a majority of them drop quite rapidly in value right after public release.

It used to be the opposite but because ICO's are more becoming more popular and better at advertising you are right that this is not the case anymore. If the token only lists on a low volume exchange such as Etherdelta/Waves/etc.. then yes they can often be picked up for cheaper post ICO.

In order to provide some value for ICO investors it is important to set a reasonable hard cap which Stox has done and secondly it is important to swiftly get on a large exchange. Anything smaller than Bittrex could easily result in a $30 million ICO trading cheaper.

The product is good though. I'm in REP too but event resolution times will significantly impact their ability to compete in the sport betting market. The Stox approach provides rapid resolution but with the backstop of a decentralized dispute mechanism. Their regulatory approach is also good and means STX prediction markets will probably be available in most/all jurisdictions.

I couldn't have said it better myself. A good exchange will draw a ton of people into it, as the product is indeed very good.
2648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY(LBC) price in long time ? on: August 03, 2017, 12:01:39 AM
whats your idea about LBRY price in future ? what is your reason ? is this coin worth investing (buying or mining) ?
The fair price for LBRY is 50k
I think it will happen in early December,
Hopefully my guess is right

I could see this happen, it's about 250% increase in value, shouldn't be too big of a problem once they launch their platform

Hi Everyone,

We just want to inform that we are working on our plans, our main focus now is to deliver the next version of Minereum.

Several improvements will be introduced, including: Deflationary algorithm, Transfer of Genesis Addresses, Public Mining, etc.

Keep in mind that Minereum will continue it's own path independently of the new token and current holders will be able to convert MNE to the new token if they wish.

All details will be provided when everything is ready, we expect all to be ready by the end of this month.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Great to hear!

How is he investing if stox won't allow American investers?

Stox simply blocks american IP adresses so he could have a foreign associate buy them for him
2652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The real crash starts after Aug 1st on: August 01, 2017, 06:50:48 PM
Today won't have a heavy crash because the consequences of the current split are negligible. The market will climb back up, all the up to mid october. That's when fear of the real crash will kick in, because that's when the bitcoin split will result in heavier debate and FUD surrounding the shortterm consequences. Make sure to have some money aside to invest because we'll see some great deals, I can image virtually every coin including BTC plummeting to 30-40% of its current value

why exactly do you expect the serious crash to happen by mid of october? why should there be a heavier debate? are there any specific indications for this to happen?

I don't expect a serious crash by then, I expect a lot of FUD around that time. The debate will be about bitcoins future after the hardfork in november, which will probably see a lot of money flow to a small number of alts like NEO for safety. Like with every crash, a few alts shoot up while the rest of them, including bitcoin, drop down because people are afraid.
2653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minereum - First Self Mining Smart Contract - TOKEN SERVICE NOW LIVE on: August 01, 2017, 06:42:12 PM
Getting on a major exchange will be of a lot more value than a new MNE version will be. If virtually no one is interested due to lack of exposure, then the devs can come up with hundreds of new versions without MNE getting anywhere. I'm however confident in this coin, it's got great potential and the devs have never posted without solid news, so I hope we can expect to hear from them any day now.

2655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best ICO to invest on: August 01, 2017, 12:45:11 PM
As I posted on a couple other threads, i think the stox ico has a lot of potential. The team is extraordinary and the value of their token is very cheap, definitely compared to similar platforms like augur and gnosis (0.85$ compared to 17$ and 190$). This will be the first ICO I invest in.

The most important thing about ICO's is that you assess for yourself what the potential of the team and the purpose of the project is. It's easy to succumb to FUD, celebrity endorsments and good promises. Don't spend money you can't afford to lose.
2656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ICO are you watching next? for me BAT, TEZOS and STATUS on: July 31, 2017, 10:53:01 PM
the only ICO I consider investing in is the Stox ICO. It can do whatever augur and gnosis can do (worth 17$ and 190$ respectively), but offers a lot more real world usage. It also has an incredible team behind it, as well as a great marketing. Recently Floyd Mayweather posted a picture on insta promoting this ICO. I would never in a million years blindly follow the advice of a celebrity, but floyd has over 16 mil followers, so I'm sure a lot of people will become interested in this. Once they realise it's the 0.85$ version of a 190$ platform, STX will boom, 5$ per STX seems highly achievable by the end of this year, 20$ by the end of next year as well, maybe even 190$ in a couple of years.

2657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO: American boxer, mayweather to make millions on the 2nd of August on: July 31, 2017, 10:36:33 PM
I see some rather crazy claims here.

First of all, don't badmouth this coin because 1. it's an ethereum based token, or 2. because a celebrity is promoting it. Let's not forget people follow the crowd. Bitcoin would be worth less in cap than XEM if the masses saw that XEM can do what BTC can do, only better. Guess what, people don't care, they want 1. safety, and 2. profit. There's a reason why giant companies use celebs to promote their product; it's because people trust familiar faces. Floyd promoting this coin, as well as bitcoin and ethereum, will have significant results, guaranteed.

Second, the Ethereum platform is here to stay. You may not like it, but it is. I'm not saying the ETH token will remain as valuable as it is now, but the platform is one of the greatest technological advancements of the last years. Stox using this will give them a great advantage.

Third, the STX team is very impressive, truly one of the best in the business, as they have a tonne of combined experience in the entire financial market.

Fourth, look at similar projects like augur and gnosis. Stox beats them on so many levels, yet augur and gnosis are worth respectively 17$ and 190$. I'm not saying STX will grow to 190$, but it will be sold at 0.85$. I'm guessing it'll be sold for at least 5$ after the ICO.

For anyone interested in this project, just read the whitepaper and decide for yourself. Don't take my advice, definitely don't take Floyd's advice, but think for yourself. Ico's can be very risky, but they can also be highly rewardable, so either get on the train or get off the tracks.
2658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stox - ICO Review on: July 31, 2017, 10:08:50 PM
What is true news circulating in instagram
That Floyd Mayweather invested in the STOX project ?

It's illegal for him as a USA citizen to buy these kind of assets, the only thing Stox get get him is a shit ton of trouble. Cheesy

13.16    you are not a citizen of or resident or domiciled in the United States of America or
making a contribution for the purchase of Tokens from a location in the United States of
America, nor are you an entity (including but not limited to any company or partnership)
incorporated, established or registered in or under the laws of the United States of
America, nor are you making a contribution for the purchase of Tokens for or on behalf
of any such person or entity;

https://www.stox.com/assets/contribution-terms.pdf

Mayweather has a lot of offshore 'businesses' or associates that can buy into the ICO that can later 'invest' the money they made back into TMT. The cool thing about this is that he has reached over 16 million people with one post. My guess is the ICO will be sold out within 24 hours, as they only need about 160.000 ETH, which isn't a lot. I'm definitely going to invest, it's got one of the most diverse and experienced teams I've ever seen, the coin is still very cheap (+- 0.80$) and their marketing is extraordinary. I could see this coin being sold for 5$ after the ICO at least

More updates will be online this coming August 1 i hope Smiley

Wow, 3 posts today... MNE thread seems to be dead now  Shocked
Devs wrong promises have given MNE the death blow

I agree compleetly

There we go again :-)
Which wrong promises? You don't really understand what it takes to program something like MNE V2, get it through UAT and go live with it.
Currently all the Alts are stagnating, even ETH, LTC, XMR are hovering around a certain price which indicates that the market is waiting for the situation to normalize after August 1st.
Don't be surprised if there are new developments announced by the end of this week or early next that shows the world that MNE is alive and kicking. MNE will get a lot of buy focus again because it is just a damn good innovative coin.

All these updates are completely worthless without a big exchange... If MNE has getted on bigger exchange first, and all this updates comes later, MNE would be at least in top 80 now... Dev has promised there is coming a bigger exchange 3 months ago, and nothing is happened

sorry but this is scamming people
Guys What did i say couple of weeks back..Please check before investing I am not blamming anyone

Do you guys realise this project is one of the youngest and most promising alts out there today? Do you not realise literally 95% of all alts are down? If you really expect massive profits and only good news then trading really isn't for you. By the end of this year MNE will be listed on a bigger exchange, most likely bittrex, and MNEv2 will be out. If you can't wait that long, again, trading is not for you.
2660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why BTC will never be over 30K on: July 28, 2017, 04:11:01 PM
I've read a lot of articles about people claiming bitcoin will be worth millions in the future, for example John mcAfee recently said bitcoin will be 500K in 3 years.
Now, imagine if this was true, and it was in fact 500K/BTC. The total market cap would then be 10.500.000.000.000, or about 10 trillion dollars. This is an unbelievable and unachievable amount of money. Even if we ignore the market caps, imagine how many people would become rich? Millions would become millionairs, hundreds would become billionaires, all in a matter of 3 years. This would cripple the global economy as we know it.

My best guess is that, in 10 years, bitcoin might be around it's absolute peak of 30K, giving it a total market cap of about 630.000.000.000$, or 630 billion. The total market cap of cryptos would then be around 2 trillion if the some of the better alts gain more traction. I believe this is fairly realistic. This means BTC would have to rise with around 7 - 8$ a day.

Edited

Your logic is weird. People who invest early in successful companies/assets always end up with a shit lot of money later on. Early adopters are taking a tremendous amount of risk and they get rewarded for it justifiably. Think of the guys who invested in Microsoft or Apple very early on and held on to their shares for a decade. Those guys are rich beyond their dreams. Warren Buffet is one of the richest person in the world because he invested in all the right places at a very early age.

Why do you it think is any different for Bitcoin? Early adopters will get filthy rich (they already are). There will be a new class of millionaires and billionaires. Wasn't this case during the dotcom bubble too? Lots of people got crazy rich during that time. Same thing will happen with cryptocurrencies. People adopting now will get rich. For people adopting 10 years later, it will be just another asset giving 5-10% ROI a year. It's all about risk vs reward premium.

Unlike companies, cryptocurrencies have no national border. So while calculating marketcap we can't just compare it to Amazon or any other company. Cypto's reach is global and possibility of much large marketcaps.

Having said all this, there is no guarantee Bitcoin will be the dominant coin of the future. Most altcoins are technologically far superior to Bitcoin. It's questionable how long the network effect will keep Bitcoin at No.1. With the impending hard fork on August 1, the flippening might finally happen.

I wouldn't call my logic weird, per se. I just get fed up with a lot of people who think bitcoin will reach the stars because 'they want it bad enough and their heart is pure'. You must understand that in order for a bitcoin to be worth 30K, someone has to buy this coin believing it will go higher. True, there might be a lot of crypto millionaires and billionaires, but as soon as they try to cash out, the markets will drop again. That's the (only) problem with cryptos; the price will not be fixed, meaning that when someone takes out his fiat money, bitcoins price will drop. When one thousand holders all cash out 30K, the price will drop further.

Also, you can't compare an extremely young asset class to one of the most dominant and globally accepted assets in the world. Gold has been a standard for wealth and security for thousands of years. I agree bitcoin can definitely take golds place in a few decades, but you have to realise most people today are highly sceptical and conservative.

Last, the flippening will never happen. People are realising slowly but steadily that there's no company on earth interested in using ethereums token, they're only interested in the tech and possibly the chain. Plus, there are a lot of materials and metals better than gold, more valuable, more rare, more pure, yet gold remains the ultimate standard. Bitcoin will forever remain the first crypto, the one above all. Most future investors will be looking for a safe investment that gives a better ROI than the bank. They won't go looking for coins they don't understand if bitcoin is right in front of them. Also, august 1st will be a non event, the upcoming fork is planned for november. If anything, august 1st will have a very small dip, nothing more.

You're assumption is that 10, 20, 30 yrs from now, everything will still be valued in fiat. However, everything could very well be valued in crypto in the coming future and thus these crypto millionaires and billionaires wouldn't need to "cash out". My point is, you're making a lot of assumptions to come to a conclusion that BTC can't break a $30,000 threshold. If there is one thing we DO know it's that honey badger don't give a fuck about what you think it can or can't do.

Hadn't thought of that. To follow up on that point, I believe in 20-40 years oil will be virtually gone, so the dollar won't be tied to oil anymore. It can go back to gold, it can go back to something new, like cryptos, or crypto (or another currency) will take dollars place. Like someone else said, everything is becoming more and more digital. It's only logical currency will become digital as well. Maybe BTC could become the eventual standard, a global currency. Btw my post wasn't intended to make a point, I just wanted to stimulate healthy debate about the future possibilities
