2661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Scalability, Why Top Crypto exchanges Have not Integrated LN Network on: April 16, 2022, 06:46:07 PM
Actually i don't think anyone can state categorically what the reason is, only the top exchanges that are yet to integrate it can give the exact reason why, but they seem to be mute on the whole issue. I was reading something about it, you can find it in this link: https://www.fxstreet.com/cryptocurrencies/news/binance-and-coinbase-silent-on-bitcoin-lightning-community-tries-to-understand-why-202204150845 . I would also be sharing excerpts too.
Quote
One Redditor suggested that the Lightning Network availability would be essentially associated with fewer incentives to keep Bitcoin on exchanges like Binance due to expensive withdrawals.
Could the above excerpt make sense? Could Binance actually be shunning the integration so users of their website would not be tempted to move all of their funds out, since they would be able to do it at a cheaper rate.
Quote
The Lightning enthusiast also doesn’t expect other exchanges like Coinbase to integrate Lightning support in the near future “since the priority seems to be to integrate as many altcoins as possible and follow the trends of the market,”
From the above could this exchanges be more concerned about the ongoing trend/hype than actually integrating the LN in their system, many of this reasons actually makes sense, and there are many more in the link above, just like the OP, i would also like to know what the community thinks about it, of course after going through the link i sent.

I deeply feel this season UEFA Champion's League trophy has Manchester City name written over it already...
I sincerely hope so, i am a Manchester City supporter and i would hope for nothing other than exactly this. But mind you that it is not going to be easy, not by the stretch of any imagination, Real Madrid are going to be so tough to beat, they have been in this position so many times and have won, and not just that, in most of those situations they went on to win the trophy, that is why they have won this tournament more than any other team. City on the other hand are only playing in their third CL semi-final ever, so as for experience, Real have buckets load of it. But notwithstanding City are still favorites in my opinion, and the last time we played Real in the UCL we came out victorious, i would likewise be hoping for the same scenario this time around. The CL has eluded City for so long, it is time to win it.

Liverpool on the other hand face an easier opponent on paper, but for a team that eliminated Juventus and didn't stop there, rather went on to eliminate Bayern Munich, i would just keep my fingers crossed till the 180 minutes across the two legs is over.
2663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: April 15, 2022, 10:45:18 AM
Its not in the departure of Messi from Barcelona, you have to understand that Xavi is missing something in which unless he identified such it might end up running Barca down in their match performance, the entire whole team have to be reorganize, they need to understand each player's strategies and provide a blending for it, this was the kind of formation Messi has being scaling through when he was in Barca, are the psychologist doing it right?.
Right before Barcelona signed Xavi did you watch them, did you also take cognizance of their league performaces and position on the table, if you did, and if you have also been watching Barca since Xavi took over then you will understand that Xavi deserves an awful amount of credit and praise, as a matter of fact i really can't understand why anyone would point any finger at Xavi based on what he has done with this team since his arrival.

Don't get me wrong, i am not saying the young man is a perfect manager, what i am saying is that since his appointment the team has been ten times better than what they were before, he made very good signings and has been very influential in helping players who had lost all of their confidence and were playing terribly, for example, Dembele, the young man was heading down the precipice, but right now his form is great.

The team is blending just fine, and do not also forget that this man is just months into this job, he should be under the lights and appraisal should be passed on him by the end of next season which will be his first full season in the job, for now it should be all credit, Barcelona are now almost certain of coming back to the CL next season, at one time this season it seemed impossible. Xavi has been great.

I need help.
Well, the best help anyone can give to you will still depend solely on you, and that is you must do your own research before doing anything on the network, newcomers tend to invest/trade before learning/researching, you could prolly be lucky and it works for you that way with one or two projects, but what are the chances? Pretty low if i must be honest with you.

Thus, forget about the losses, it is more or less very common these days that people always learn the hard way, what i mean is, they learn a lot of what they should have known before investing/trading only after they have made a mistake and lost some of their funds, take it to be a process, and going forward do your research, focus on long term projects (Bitcoin), invest only what you can affford to lose, remember that whatever is too good to be true, is prolly not true, etc, etc...
2665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 14, 2022, 05:43:57 PM
The trio of MUFC, Spurs and Arsenal will be aiming for a win to continue their push for the 4th position and final champions league slot for next season. With MUFC poor form, it is hard to predict their outcome, while we can expect a spurs victory and Arsenal poor draw once again.
Personally i do not even think Manchester United are still in the race for top four, in my opinion that battle is now between Arsenal and Spurs, Arsenal had it in their hands, but in the last two weeks they have dropped crucial points to throw the top four race wide open again, honestly it now looks like Spurs are the team with momentum to go on and grab that all important fourth position. Southampton are a very difficult opponent to play against, if Arsenal get anything other than three points and Spurs win, then Spurs would be in pole position to finish fourth.
Meanwhile in the fa cup, Liverpool host Manchester City at Wembley, renewed rivalry, FACUP at stakes, what are your odds? I see a City slim victory here
City played a tough game in the EPL against Liverpool on Sunday, and another tougher game yesterday against Athletico Madrid, a few of Pep's players also picked up injuries in the process, and i am sure the boys are going to be a little bit tired, Liverpool had the liberty to rest some of their players in their game against Benfica yesterday, so i think they will be fresher for this match and that could give them the advantage, but with the depth in this City's side, you can never count them out, can you.
2666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 13, 2022, 10:55:52 PM
Completely disgraceful scenes in the closing stages of the City v Athletico game, it didn't even end on the pitch of play as there was as well a massive brawl in the tunnel, i am utterly disappointed in the Athletico team, that is no way to host an opposition team, City players were targeted from the beginning of the match right to the end, simeone and his team employed an unorthodox pattern in all respects and i am so happy that the better football team, which is City, qualified.

I am pretty sure they would be lots of investigations on what happened in this game, and i would not be surprised to see a few bans being dished out to some players and staff. Having said that, City go back to Madrid in a couple of weeks, and this game is definitely going to be entirely different to what we saw tonight, Real Madrid like to play, likewise City, so we are definitely in for an entertaining semi-final; Villareal v Liverpool make up the other semi, Liverpool are definitely favorite on paper, but after eliminating Juventus, then Bayern, of course Villareal can dare to dream, and they have every right to do so.

@igehhh, i don't know if you missed it but the user Mpamaegbu is a Legendary user already, but he is in the column for hero members in the table, if there is no particular reason why, then you can put him in the column for Legendary Nigerian users, which he is.
I'm not sure what else we're doing wrong or why we haven't heard from @theymos since the appeal thread last year. We have the numbers, the activities, and reputable members who are making significant contributions to the forum; at this point, all we can do is hope.
Hope, and wait patiently, quite a lot of implementations that have happened in the forum took a lot of time before it became possible, and that is the same with this request, prolly somewhere along the line this would become a reality as well.
2668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 12, 2022, 10:17:13 PM
People didn't had any hope that they would be top 4 when Ole was managing the team, results were horrible, after that 5-0 loss to Liverpool everyone just decided to back off and just ignore it completely. However, it looks like they had a run after they sacked Ole and arsenal and Spurs had games missing so it looked like they were fourth for a while even though they weren't.
My point is basically that, results were horrendous when Ole was in charge and absolutely nothing has changed since OGS was fired, i always said it back then that i didn't think Uniteds problem was solely all about the manager, now it is so clear it wasn't, to be honest i really do not know what is wrong with the team, they have great players in every position, and they have spent as much money as their rivals as well, but to be in 7th position, and not even sure of Europa League football next season is so disappointing to say the least. They are going to get a new manager at the end of this season that's for sure, let us see if he will bring a change of fortune for the club.
2669  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Short term investment suggestion on: April 12, 2022, 09:54:21 PM
Guys, any suggestions for short-term investment?
Pump and dump altcoins, maybe you could just be lucky and get one right before it pumps, who knows, but what if none of such happens and you lose your funds, then you go all in again with another pump and dump coin, and the same scenario happens, rinse and repeat. At one point you then leave the network, brandishing and generalizing the crypto network as being a scam, telling your friends to stay off, but without highlighting your own folly in all of this.

Having said the above, crypto is not a get rich quick network, you should devote some of your time into research. Bitcoin is a long term project for example and one has to be patient when investing in it, i would have suggested you invest in Bitcoin, but you are in a quest for quick riches, so prolly after you have tried such without any success, maybe your curiosity for Bitcoin would grow and you can then get things right.
2670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 12, 2022, 03:46:43 PM
One would have thought at least United can make top 4 but they have failed their fans and themselves too.
It was clear at one point in the season that United could not make the top four this season, they aren't a big team anymore and they can lose to absolutely any team, thus there is no way such a team can finish in one of the top four slots for the CL, United should be happy if the finish in 7th position. When OGS was manager, i made it known that i do not think he was the problem with United, and that their problems was deeper than just Ole, fast forward to the post-Ole era and Manchester United are not doing any better, they are still languishing as far away from the summit as possible, and now European football is more or less no longer within their reach.

United have Liverpool to play in the weekend, and they must have to be at their best not to get embarassed. I am worried for United next season, i think there would be an exodus of quality players from the team and they will struggle to allure good players into their team.
2671  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Some Errors We Make In Trading Crypto on: April 12, 2022, 12:43:52 PM
  • Crypto is not a get-rich-quick scheme- so seeing it as one is a big error and can lead to a lot of other mistakes and loses.
Of course it isn't, but quite a lot of people do not believe that, i think a lot of problems people have with crypto stems from the fact that they want crypto to make them rich asap, as a result they invest/trade without research, they invest/trade with more than they can afford to lose, they become impatient, they choose 'lottery' coins and end up in the receiving end, etc. People need to take crypto trading/investing as what can produce/provide a secondary source of income, that way they would be patient enough to do their research and make good decisions.

In truth newcomers need to understand that there is no trading guide that can guarantee them profits, all they must do is learn all there is to and make the right choices, but profit and loss remains a possibility, but when you lose, just learn from it and move on.
2672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: newbie invest on: April 12, 2022, 11:02:46 AM
There are a lot of scams and very often newbies invest money is scams.
That is why it is necessary to check everything about the project not to invest money in scams.
Investors would continually lose funds to scam as long as they do not do their own research, it is only avarice that can make one invest without properly understanding what they are investing into; it is pretty easy to avoid being scammed in the network, despite the fact that there are a whole lot of scammers out there. People think cause there are many scammers in the network the chances of being scammed is high, but mind you that it is people's folly that more often than not makes them vulnerable to loss of funds and other whatnots.
2673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: April 11, 2022, 10:36:12 PM
then Barcelona might have a little hope for the title. But it wouldn't still be too realistic.
Of course it is unrealistic to still have hopes that Barcelona are going to win the title this season, it is just not possible, at this point what Barcelona are playing for is a second place finish, and also to end the season on a high note and enter next season with high momentum/spirit so they can compete for the title then. Real Madrid have done their work a long time ago, and they have run the single race to the title, and it is only a matter of time before we start congratulating them. Having said that, i expect next season to be different and far more competitive, Barcelona are back on their feet again, so things would definitely not be easy for Madrid next season.
2674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NO RISK, NO REWARD on: April 11, 2022, 07:58:01 PM
You're sounding like one of those get rich quick investors we get in the network every now and then, you and your friend should understand that Bitcoin is not like gambling were you ride your luck, how can you invest in something without doing your own research; cause if you did you would understand that Bitcoin is a long term project, and as an investor you have to be patient and not expect quick returns.

Yeah, you can say no risk, no reward, but mind you that there is what is called stupid risk, for example when you invest without doing your own research, or you invest more than you can afford to lose, or you invest cause your 'friend' did invest, etc, all of the following does not make you a risk taker, it only keeps you open to avoidable loss of funds.
2675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 11, 2022, 04:39:28 PM
Paris St-Germain are in talks to sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku only a year after the 28-year-old Belgium international joined the Blues for £98m from Inter Milan.
Lukaku to PSG rumors is a surprising one to me, i doubt if it could be true, i know Lukaku is having a terrible time at Chelsea ever since his big money return to the club, coupled with that infamous interview he made which didn't sit down well with the entire Chelsea football club and their fans, thus i can understand why Lukaku would most likely be on his way out of the club and that is what both parties would want, but to PSG, that looks unlikely. Even if Mbappe eventually leaves, Lukaku does not look like the replacement PSG would want; a return to Inter looks more likely to happen.
Borussia Dortmund's Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland, 21, has dismissed interest from Manchester United because he does not believe they can fulfil his ambitions. When you get into a situation where money is not enough  Grin
With the way Manchester United are playing, and with how things have gone from bad to worse for the club, there is no way Haaland can move there, as a matter of fact United would struggle to allure any world class player to their team at at the moment.
2676  Economy / Economics / Re: Is crypto the final stage in the evolution of money? on: April 11, 2022, 02:31:13 PM
Your inquiry/question does not have an exact answer, at least just yet. For example when trade by barter was the medium of exchange, no one knew what was coming next to replace, supplement or act as an alternative to it, but something else did (commodity money). It is the same scenario now, cryptocurrencies are quite popular nowadays, but they are yet to even be completely adopted as a medium of exchange (even if they actually are). Thus my point is basically this, as the world continues to advance technologically, there is no way one can predict/say that this present crypto stage would be the last in the evolution of money/medium of exchange, something else would definitely surface down the line, but its level of success is what i can't predict at this very time.
2677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 11, 2022, 02:06:59 PM
Now even Juventus is getting closer and closer, they only have 6 points to catch up on 1st place, that's not much.
Yeah, the points gap between the top four is really small, but personally i do not think Juventus can turn this around and win the league with just about 6 games to go, if Inter win their outstanding game, they will be 7 points ahead of Juventus, that would mean 3 slip ups in 6 games for Juventus to be able climb, that is a difficult one to say the least. I think the league is between AC Milan, Inter and Napoli, and i am in full support of Inter to win it. The final few games would be full of intensity, pressure and who knows, drama, but if Inter can manage to keep their nerves in check, then they will be champions of Italy for the second time in two seasons.
2678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fall of BTC open the opportunity to buy alts on: April 11, 2022, 01:49:14 PM
Personally i do not think Bitcoin can fall to as low as 19k, at least not at this time, and not in a long time, if ever again, after the adoption of Bitcoin by institutional investors, i doubt Bitcoin can experience the sort of sporadic plunge we saw in the past, of course i can't be certain, but from my analysis i believe so. I am not really an altcoin investor, so for me, now that the price of Bitcoin has depreciated a little bit, it is an opportunity to accumulate more, afterall it is a long term investment and since i am not concerned about its short term movements, i will buy more and hodl for the long term of which i would make profit.

Even if you buy altcoins now, how sure are you that they are going to be bullish for a sustained period of time, remember most of them are pump and dump coins, well, it all boils down to your own research which i enjoin you to do, my advice would just be that if you are a short term investor, then you can go for altcoins, but if you are a long term investor, accumulate more Bitcoin at a cheaper price and hodl.
2679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 11, 2022, 12:01:13 PM
As for the Bayern Munich - Villarreal match, it can be a really interesting one. Villarreal won by 1-0 in the first leg and their performance was incredible. If they maintain it here as well, then Bayern Munich can be in a big trouble.
I think Bayern were lucky not to have conceded more goals in the first leg of that game, Villareal missed a lot of clear cut chances to make it 2 or 3 goals ahead and that would have made things difficult for Bayern in the second leg. But with just a lone goal, i doubt Villareal would be able to survive Bayerns onslaught for the entire 90 minutes, it would also be impossible to replicate the kind of football they played in the first leg now that they are coming to the home of the German champions. Having said that, in football there is always a chance of an upset though, and no matter how you look at it, Villareal have the advantage for now and they can dare to dream.

As for Real v Chelsea, i expect the second leg to be even more interesting than the first, Chelsea would be throwing everything forward in this game as they have nothing to lose, and this would definitely leave gaps in defense, of which Madrid would be more than willing to capitalize on. This would be a high scoring game i can tell, but Madrid would go through at the end.
2680  Economy / Economics / Re: What about the role of giving in personal finance? on: April 11, 2022, 10:57:53 AM
but in my opinion, for Average Joe, who tends to be impulsive, Ramsey's system is better.
I have to agree with you that Ramsey's method is much better for individuals who are not finacially stable, i mean, debt can be a good way to create wealth, but it more often than not works for individuals who are already comfortable/rich, rich people take loans all of the time to make more money and it does not affect them at all, they have stipulated funds for more or less everything, and sometimes they may need someone else's money for a little while, of which they definitely will pay back. But for an individual who isn't financially stable, or who is poor, attempting to borrow money to create wealth would prolly not work, you'd always have some basic needs to handle and before you know it you have used up the money you borrowed, thus leaving you in debt with no extra source to clear your debts, for such people it is either they work for a long while, set up a savings and start up a business somewhere along the line, or they receive a donation of some sort that does not come with a pay-back clause.

"Givers never lack" they say, and i think that is true, and really it does not even have anything to do with religion, giving connects you to more people who could turn out to present you to more opportunities to make more money. If one loves giving they also tend to work harder cause they know they need a whole lot of money to help others as well as themselves.
