Chelsea have started their Declan Rice chase again.
Declan Rise would cost Chelsea so much money, but i think it would be very much worth it for them, we are talking of a figure that could rise to about £100m. Declan Rise is very good, though i don't think he is worth that much, but i guess it is what it is, the crazy transfer market, the English hype and every club looking to make the most out of their star player, thus if Chelsea want him, they definitely have to pay well to get him.

Having said that, Kante is very well leaving in the summer as a free agent after all these good years with the club, of which i am sure they would be thankful to him for, now to replace the French superstar with Declan Rice is a great move for Chelsea, and they wouldn't have to worry about the defensive midfield position for a very long time.

Martinez Emiliano the Argentina's goalkeeper is too good that he is capable of saving every shot coming to the net, this may be problem for Liverpool to win the match. Aston villa has quality goalkeeper that matters alot .
Lol, Martinez is definitely not going to be between the sticks tomorrow, WC finalists/winners get extra days off (10/12 days after the final i guess), but even if he was going to be in goal tomorrow it doesn't mean he wouldn't get beaten, i mean, he is a good goalkeeper no doubt about that, but i don't think he is anything close to world class, and even world class goalkeepers get beaten many times when they are left exposed.

Having said that, the best goalkeepers often keep for the best teams, and they concede fewer goals because they have a strong team/defense and they hold the ball more often than not, leaving them exposed only a few times of which they will save some and concede a few. But a goalkeeper in a small team would be exposed many times and will concede many goals no matter how good they are, if Martinez was to keep tomorrow, it won't stop Liverpool from scoring more than two goals, because they will definitely control the game, open up Villa and have many shots at their goal.
1724  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Amendment of the CBN cash withdrawal policy on: December 24, 2022, 09:30:45 AM
Soon the average citizens of Nigeria will be forced to keep their money at home, their won't be need for banking.
I don't think so, this withdrawal/cashless policy has nothing to do with trying to force people 'out of the banks', it is just a policy that the CBN thinks would help regulate cash in circulation and aid in the valuation of the naira. The problem i had with the policy was earlier on when the limits were set at 100k (for individuals) and 500k (for organizations) weekly OTC, and 100k weekly at PoS services and ATM stands, i felt that it would greatly affect individuals whom the government have provided nothing for, but have made out things for themselves through running PoS services, it would have ruined their businesses, though this amendment isn't a panacea to that, but it makes things better for them; other than that i don't see anything wrong with the policy, you don't have to withdraw/hold cash to spend it.

Having said that, holding your cash in your home is too risky an option, banks are relatively safe for you to keep your funds and if you are struggling to withdraw as much as you want, you can basically pay through mobile transfer or with your ATM card; a better option if you don't want to use the bank would be the Bitcoin network.
1725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 23, 2022, 05:53:19 PM
I agree with you that most likely Newcastle will finish in the top 4 and get a UCL ticket for next season
I sincerely do not think so, i know Newcastle currently occupy third position in the League standings, and that's an amazing feat they have been able to achieve, but mind you that it's just 14/15 games played in the League thus far, with so many more games yet to be played. There are quite a lot of strong teams vying to finish in the top four position, these teams are far stronger than Newcastle and i think they will knock Newcastle out of the top four spot, at best Newcastle might finish 5th and qualify for the Europa League, but to get a CL ticket for next season seems too much for them to achieve. There is the big 6 in the league which is: City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs, the top four would definitely be made up of four teams from the big 6.
1726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 23, 2022, 01:50:52 PM
As reported by Transfermarkt, there are several rumors regarding the future of Adrien Rabbiot in the next season and several clubs from the EPL seem to be interested in signing him. There's Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs? I think if he comes to Arsenal he will only be on the bench, whereas going to Man united or spurs it could be a good option for the midfield of the team. What do you think?
I don't know how true the rumor is, but Andrien Rabiot wouldn't be a bad option for any of the clubs mentioned above, and whilst talking about playing time, a lot has to do with the player himself, if he comes into the team and proves himself to be indispensable, then there is no way the manager can leave him on the bench, because it is only logical to start your best players, those that can lead to you victory more often than not.

Having said that, amongst the three teams i think Spurs are the least when it comes to competition for the midfield position, thus they might be the team he could prolly get ample playing time in, Manchester United have Casemiro, Bruno Fernandez and Eriksen, Arsenal have Partey, Xhaka and Odegaard, i think in Spurs they have just Hojbjerg, Bentancur and a few others, but i think they are the team that Rabiot might find more easier to break into the starting eleven.
1727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 22, 2022, 11:10:40 PM
I wonder if Manchester United are really thinking of replacing him with Martinez depending on the credibility of this news. Because Martinez is not a goalkeeper who should be among the substitutes.
Exactly the point, with Martinez' heroics in the WC, he would definitely be sought after by quite a lot of clubs, thus he would choose the team that is big and will give him the most playing time. If Manchester United are interested in him, they have to make some assurances to him in order to convince the Argentine to move to Old Trafford, either a promise that they aren't extending De Gea's contract and Martinez would be the main keeper afterwards, or that they are buying him now and outrightly replacing the Spanish goalkeeper for him. I don't think Martinez would go to a team that he will rarely play, he'd rather wait for interest from another good team.
1728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 22, 2022, 10:39:49 PM
City now moves into the quarters and has a solid chance of winning the title this season. Liverpool now lost another chance at a trophy and this season looks like they wont win a single trophy
City love the Carabao cup, dont they! Thus i consider them the favorites for the title every season, and this one is definitely no different. I think Liverpool needed this win and to stay in this competition more than City because they are having a pretty bad season and have limited opportunities at winning trophies, thus hanging onto anyone at this point is pertinent.

Having said that, i'm just glad club football is back, and the EPL would begin in a couple of days, i can't wait to see how the EPL pans out this season, who will be crowned champions, who'll finish in the top four and those that would be relegated, it is definitely going to be an interesting next couple of months.
1729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 22, 2022, 02:51:37 PM
Mac lister transfer to Arsenal will be a great addition to them. Thomas partey has been the only option in that sitting midfield. Alister and Odegard combination is gone work well for Arsenal.  Arsenal still need to sign a striker since Jesus won't be available for the first few matches.
Well, it seems Arsenal are going to be very busy with transfer business in January, at the start of this season i didn't expect it to be so, because they spent quite a lot of money in the summer, thus i thought they were going to have a quiet winter as regards transfers. I guess they want to sign more players because they find themselves in a position they didn't dream of, and that's at the summit of the table, and they can see a real chance of them winning the league, thus the need for reinforcements.

Having said that, Mac Allister had an impeccable world cup, and i knew that quite a lot of teams will be interested in him, Arsenal is a good option for the Argentine, i basically just hope that Brighton do not take advantage of this and put a crazy amount on him as they did when City, and eventually Chelsea wanted to buy Cucurrela. As far as strikers go for Arsenal, i heard they are also interested in Joao Felix of Athletico Madrid and a couple of others, once the window is open we'll see who gets who.
1730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 22, 2022, 12:12:22 PM
nunez and haaland will show who is the best in the match later. I believe these two players are the most interesting for the spectators in today's match.
Both Nunez and Haaland are two top players who aren't in any competition with each other, but just want to help their respective teams win every game possible, thus far this season Haaland has been the better of the pair, but i don't think this Carabao cup game is going to prove anything between them, either of them would surely want to score and help their team win tonight, but notwithstanding whatsoever is the result at the end of the night, it doesn't prove who's the best player between them. Having said that, prolly at the end of the season there could be a comparison of their respective stats to decide who was the better player for the season. But btw i think City are definitely going to win tonight, they love the Carabao cup, don't they. Grin
1731  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Amendment of the CBN cash withdrawal policy on: December 22, 2022, 08:45:18 AM
The Central Bank of Nigeria have amended the policy on cash withdrawal. The CBN bin ealier this month release new policy on cash withdrawal, wey some of the limits be say you no go fit withdraw pass 100k every week for ATM stand and from PoS service, and OTC go be 100k and 500k for individuals and organizations respectively, with charges of 5% and 10% respectively if you decide to withdraw above it.

Well that policy has been amended by the CBN after the National Assembly intervene, and Nigerians bin they complain about am, the amended policy now be say:
Quote
The new directive which was communicated through a letter addressed to all banks, and signed on Wednesday by the Director of Banking Supervision, Haruna Mustafa, now allows individuals to withdraw up to N500,000 weekly and organisations, N5 million weekly
Them don increase/raise the limits, so now you as an individual go fit withdraw up to 500k weekly on all channels (ATM stand, PoS service and OTC as well), whilst organizations go fit withdraw 5 million weekly as well. Them also lessen the fee/charge for people wey go wish to withdraw above this limit, the new charge/fee now na:
Quote
In the event of compelling circumstances where cash withdrawal exceeds the limits required for legitimate purposes, such requests will attract a processing fee of 3 percent and 5 percent for individuals and corporate organizations, respectively.
But if you wan withdraw above the limit, no be only this charge/fee wey you go pay oh, e get some information/document wey you go submit to the financial institution, these documents/information are:
Quote
The information includes a valid means of identification of the payee (National ID, International Passport, or Driver's License); Bank Verification Number (BVN) of the payee; Tax Identification Number (TIN) of both the payee and the payer; and the approval in writing by the MD/CEO of the financial institution authorising the withdrawal.

I think say this amendment they more lenient, and e make sense pass the earlier policy wey them bin release, they even talk say them go make sure say them assist rural and underserved communities in understanding this cashless policy of a thing, as them go carry them for mind for anything wey them they do via this cashless policy matter, see where them talk am:
Quote
The CBN recognizes the vital role that cash plays in supporting underserved and rural communities and will ensure an inclusive approach as it implements the transition to a more cashless society."

How una see the new amendment, una fit read the tori here for unaselves: https://allafrica.com/stories/202212220014.html & https://leadership.ng/cbn-bows-to-pressure-reviews-cash-withdrawal-policy/

Reading your story is one of the saddest things i have read on this forum ever. Whenever i see someone in pain/suffering, i usually have this feeling or rather wish that i had some superpowers to just make everything go away, and reading your OP i swear i damn felt that way. It is sad to see someone who has given quite a lot to the Bitcointalk/Bitcoin community going through something like this, my heart goes out to you, and definitely you'll be a significant part of my prayers for the forseeable future. Smile mate, i have this feeling inside of me that everything is going to be fine, and we'd see you here post surgery next year. So much love mate.
1733  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Naija Reps & Cryptocurrency Palava on: December 21, 2022, 11:09:01 PM
E don dey clear for their eye say cryptocurrency no be wetin they fit ban for ever, even with the ban in full force, naija people still dey invest and trade cryptocurrency on the go.
E no get when naija ban crypto in full force, the only thing wey them ban na direct transactions from banks to crypto exchange, and crypto exchange to banks. No reason am oh, but a country like naija fit ban crypto and nothing much go happen (though i don't want that to happen), and the reason why trade still they go on well well now via P2P for naija na because say government no ban crypto/make it illegal, if to say na that one them do, trust me trading and investment in Naija go drop well well.
The other day, I go withdraw ordinary #415,000, GT bank tell me say dey no get that amount for the whole of the bank, con tell me make I go come back the next day, they just dey make life stressful for people.
Ah, na the first time i they hear this kind thing oh. Even the cashless/withdrawal policy never start, na next year e go start, and even so you fit withdraw 100k and 500k OTC, and even go above that if you are willing to pay the charges that it attracts.
yet, Nigeria government think say banning crypto go help our economy, but atleast, now dey don see where e help the economy reach.
E no get when Naija governement reason like that, mind you say na CBN ban direct trasactions via banks to crypto exchange and crypto exchange to banks, and i no sure say na economy matter make them do am, it is more about regulation, that is why lawmakers now wan make sure say SEC wey be the appropriate body go they handle issues about the capital market.
1734  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Naija Reps & Cryptocurrency Palava on: December 21, 2022, 08:47:46 PM
I think the whole thing boils down to lack of understanding from CBN (i don't blame them anyway because they are not the appropriate body expected to regulate the capital market in the country), it is the duty of the SEC, and Nigeria should know that. Hopefully when CBN's power is diminished on crypto and the capital markets in general, the SEC can lift the ban on financial institutions processing crypto transactions, and thus regulate correctly what is deemed as a security or investment contract (of which Bitcoin is not).
I hope crypto would be legally allowed in Nigeria which would lead to more crypto businesses and adoption in the country.
Hopefully so, though we know it isn't illegal in the sense of a total/complete ban, but the ban by the CBN somewhat raises the suspicion that the government might soon be completely hostile to crypto which would definitely affect any crypto business that had prolly sprung up prior to that, i hope most of the dust settles so people can understand what the nations stand on crypto is.
1735  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Unofficial General Guidelines For Posting( Na de koko dem) on: December 21, 2022, 07:44:38 PM
U go find way pin am so im go dey on top always.
Only the administrator, and global moderator (if i remember correctly) can pin threads, but this isn't a problem, the thread doesn't have to be pinned right now, we can all see it the way it is, and please let nobody make any request to them about pinning this for now, either through PM or a thread in meta, because it is somewhat irrelevant and unncessary for now. (i they talk because you fit close eye open am, see new thread for meta wey Naija person make say make them pin our unofficial guidelines. Abeg oh Grin). We gats take things somewhat easy, once we don gain full ground, then we go fit they make more requests.
1736  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: December 21, 2022, 01:40:31 PM
Now the issue we need to discuss with the house before matters get out of hand is that, should threads be created for each discussion like Bitcoin discussion, Altcoin discussion, Naija Politics (we discussed all political discussion there and new topic get created as we did before on the hangout thread) or each person can start a discussion he wants the community to engage in anytime he feel like with a new topic. This also relate to other discussion as well like Music, Football discussion etc. Abeg make everyone contribute so we fit move forward.
Imo, i think threads should be created to represent each discussion board, we could prolly assign users to start threads to represent specific discussion boards (like mr A creates a thread for Bitcoin discussion, mr B creates a thread for economics discussion, mr C creates a thread for gambling discussion, etc), thus anytime a user wants to comment/discuss/start a new topic about any subject, they will know the thread to go to, and they wouldn't have to start a new thread for it. I believe things would be neater/less messy that way, i know quite a lot of people can start many threads in a day, thus we might get a lot of new threads with little activity in them, but if there is a thread representing most users interest, they would know the place to go to when they want to post in the local board, and each representing board would have good enough activity.

Congratulations on the local board everyone!
1737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should be very careful with alts on: December 20, 2022, 09:37:29 PM
Crypto is a perfect engine for scammers because it's still unregulated and it's also the wild west when it comes to making money quick with less efforts. .
Nonregulation has little or nothing to do with it, i don't believe most of what the government says, that they want to regulate crypto because they want to save individuals from losing money, i rather think they want to regulate crypto because they want absolute control of everybody's life and finances. Scammers and fake projects scam people and make money out of them mainly because these people are greedy and do not research about the projects they invest in.
Keep a track of your altcoins regularly and once you see the slackness in the team it's safer to switch.
That is the thing, altcoins are renowned for being short term projects/gambling projects/pump and dump projects. If you must use them you have to be ready to either sell out or buy quickly which most people cannot do successfully.
1738  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: December 20, 2022, 08:00:08 PM
This news don make even the house of reps call and serve the cbn governor letter to appear before them, make him go explain the reason for him to implement this kind policy for our country and as the country everybody deh do anyhow, even the c.b.n governor don fail twice to appear since when dem call am and which is supposed to be so.
I no know why him they boycott the summon sha, though his camp give reason sha, them talk say him they on official assignment, but this kind official assignment wey him they on for two weeks now, i they sure say the house of reps no buy this excuse at all, and e sure me say them go they vex like mad. As i read the news so, them talk say if him no appear before them by Thursday, then as them don talk say the policy they suspended, na so e go be, i go like see as this thing go pan out, and wetin go be the end result, but imo i no see anything bad in the CBN governor basically obeying the summon make everything settle once and for all.

Ronaldo playing for Newcastle doesn't look possible to me, Newcastle might no be a 'poor' club, but the take over by the billionaires who bought the club is still relatively recent, and it is yet to have any impact on the team. It would be queer to see Ronaldo playing for a club like Newcastle, it would be a new low in his career and i don't think he will be interested in it. If Ronaldo is to stay in Europe, then it has to be a big club that's playing in the CL, if not it's better he leaves for Saudi Arabia knowing his time in the spotlight/elite football is over.
I don't think so. Newcastle prefers to give an offer for memphis depay rather than ronaldo. I know that both can also play as left wing but depay is far younger compared with ronaldo and eddie how has said that a few months ago if the club was not looking for an old player like ronaldo. In my opinion if you can sign young talented player that has more years to play for the club and why does newcastle need waste its money to sign an old player like ronaldo? Eddie howe itself already confirmed not interested with ronaldo.
What don't you think so? Your post is so unrelated with mine and has nothing to do with what i posted, i made it clear that i don't think it is possible for Ronaldo to play for Newcastle because they are not a club that has enough class to house a great player like Ronaldo. By the way, i haven't heard of any offer from Newcastle for Memphis Depay, i have no idea if they are interested in the Dutch player, but despite the fact that Depay is way much younger, i would still pick Ronaldo at his present age over him, i'd rather have an effective Ronaldo for two years or so, than sign Depay and later loan or sell him out after a couple of seasons because he could not adapt.
1740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: December 20, 2022, 12:07:27 AM
If truly Newcastle are interested in Ronaldo it will be an offer Ronaldo will accept quickly. Because right now it is not easy for him to see a club that is interested in him. Ronaldo will  will prefer to be in Newcastle than Saudi Arabia.  Newcastle is not a poor club,  am sure Ronaldo would love it.
