2681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 💎[ANN] Graphene [GFN] 100,000+ TPS💎Sharding • CASPER • Golang • eWASM • dAPPs on: January 15, 2023, 02:54:46 PM
Latest progress update from Development Team

January Goals  ❄️

1. Testnet runs for a full week without crashing or validators being slashed.

2. Graphene development blog post/possibly video series about how the new blockchain will work.

3. Development donation fund for Graphene work - I think the best way to do this is to keep in a centralized place and pay out a certain hourly rate based on how much I work. This will keep me incentivized to continue working on the project without paying out a giant lump sum right away.

4. Accounting + transparency of  Graphene tokens

5. Organize project tickets into public Linear board to track development process and organize collaboration.

I understand this is the last day to claim airdrops there are still millions of unclaimed Graphene airdrops we finally put them to rest this airdrop thing and we can now look forward to developing the roadmap, I did not claim my remaining airdrop because I have a problem syncing my Phore wallet and the Phore team is unresponsive, anyway I'm ok with it I already bought a lot of GFN when people are dumping Graphene, so far what you posted looks good I just hope we will not encounter issues as we did in claiming our airdrop.
I'm hoping this is the year of Graphene and the market improves we need a breather after what happened last year.
2682  Economy / Gambling / Re: [DUCKDICE.IO HOLDING MY MONEY] Banned Account with Money on: January 15, 2023, 01:01:16 PM

Thank you for the constructive response to the user, I hope it will be possible to resolve the difficulty with crediting the deposit and problems with logging into the account, which of course gave the OP a few days of worries.

Here we ago another newbie claiming that he can’t access his account while the proof he sent above is just a crop screenshot showing that he is chatting the email support simultaneously without support response despite Duckdice has a live support. I don’t want to accused the OP as a liar but it’s just odd that he use email to chat the support instead the live support also the last case against Duckdice is same to this and he is using email to chat the support too.

I really smell someone is really pressuring Duckdice to release his balance that doesn’t want to undergo proper procedure.

Yes, I agree if that's the only one he got it will not hold, if you are going to accuse you need to be transparent and complete the whole details, I support an accusation with valid and complete proof but what are we going to get from this cropped images it doesn't show us anything, there must be some conversations that transpire already but OP did not want to show it to us, OP needs to show us what steps he has taken when they don't allow him to withdraw.

2683  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Primary Purpose (Advertising or Gift) on: January 14, 2023, 10:18:26 PM
I am some discussion with one my senior friend about primary purpose of Bitcointalk signature compaign reward.
I want to ask whether we are paid because we are very good quality post maker and they like our post so they gave us reward  or primary purpose of the compaign is to advertise the project through signature banner?

I used to be a part of a forum that pays members for posting on their forum one of these is Bizindustry not promoting this forum but just giving you an example, but the payment per post is only a few cents, and the forum owners control the payment, here in Bitcointalk the control is on the third party which is the managers of the campaigns.
The signature space is one of the features of forum script and they allow the administrators or third party to monetize the forum, but in the case of Bitcointalk, it's the third-party managers that utilize its uses.
2684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miss Universe 2023 betting. on: January 14, 2023, 08:55:24 PM
Hi guys, Miss universe 2023 will be tomorrow in my timezone. I'd like to ask if you know what bookies are offering the betting odds.

I have already searched from all the bookies I'm using but no betting odds are offered.

Let met know, and what's your prediction? maybe I can follow.

I doubt if casinos will offer betting on events like this because its hard to analyze who will likely win in the pageant after the pre-pageant judging even the favorite is not sure that he is going to win we will only know after the pageant time because beauty is in the eyes of the beholders it's hard to predict who will win, there are so many contestants and every one of them has a chance comes coronation night it just really depends on the judges, not on the performance of every contestant.
2685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How wrongful can this go? on: January 14, 2023, 02:51:18 PM
I don't like giving out my private information for any project or platforms online and I have no choice but to provide wrong personal details in order to maintain anonymity, how bad can this get if anything happens to the website system?

Is this a wrongful approach to online casinos that requires KYC? Or any of you have a better solution? There must be someone like me on here that have their ways around this. Share ideas if you can.

You have two options the first one is not to gamble at all which I'm sure is not acceptable for gamblers who gamble for money and entertainment and the other one is to accept the reality that KYC is necessary because of the regulation that is being imposed by the regulators, but all the things that you are afraid of will not happen if you picked the right casino which is responsible and compliant on the process and guaranty the safety of their client's identity.
You just need to accept that casinos also have to protect their integrity from bad actors exploiting their casino.
2686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Could be a bigger challenge when market force is low on: January 14, 2023, 01:17:36 PM
Roulette games alikes will never go out of business for online casinos but I still believe that video games are a big challenge for casinos, now that we have play to earn games is big not even a bigger challenge for casinos?

I know that play to earn isn't perfected yet, too many flaws with the tokenomics and stuff but if a better solution comes there might be less interest for online casinos, the only games that will keep them alive is Roulette and the oldies.
You are just assuming, gamblers will not go for Play to-earn platforms to replace casinos, the excitement that the gambler feels in casinos cannot be replaced by playing play to earn, I've been into both, play to earn takes too much time and you need strategy and earning is not good compared to gamblers, I don't know the percentage but gamblers will always prefer casinos the dopamine effect here is better than Play to earn platform the reward is also good if luck hits you.
2687  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Address poisoning scams on: January 13, 2023, 11:57:10 PM
Yes. The idea of a scam that depends on the victim copying addresses from their transaction history may seem far-fetched and unlikely to succeed, but people lose money in all kinds of ways. Some people will most likely fall for it if they're careless and stupid enough. I do not think we should give this too much thought. This is not the type of scam that can happen to anyone. As they say, a fool and his money are easily parted.

Yes, that's specific to people who are doing this I have this feeling that scammers have done research if some people are doing this and they gamble from random addresses, but still, awareness is the key, and this awareness should be posted on as many information platforms, we just never the character and the carelessness of people investing in Cryptocurrency and many of these are careless people, who do not do research on how scammers work.
2688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Times when I visit casinos Versus When I don't on: January 13, 2023, 11:10:34 PM

Do you have a best time when you visit an online casino and when you totally steer clear from them?

For a responsible gambler, with free time and when there's excess cash ease up playing when you have these two and I would like to add after a good night's sleep after finishing a project is also a good time to play it as some sort of reward for your accomplishment, I usually play games after finishing a hard task and the best time to be away is after a heated argument or you are in an angry mood, I experienced this and I have one of my worst sessions.

I will believe it is a skill that plays those rolls, if you can do it for several sessions but I don't want to temp you to do that, just enjoy your winning its hard to win a dice game its quite risky if it is a big amount but it seems you are comfortable on your bet, you can brag that you get lucky but saying that you did it because of skill is a fallacy.
I have not encountered here yet that boasted that they have skill in a dice game, it is just they got lucky in their few sessions

Scam alert: Metamask warns crypto users about address poisoning

While exploring the Binance news tab I found this article which highlights how a hacker is stealing the crypto assets by switching the address by matching the characters we normally use to send funds so beware of copying and pasting the recipient address no matter what kind of wallet your using and crosscheck all the characters not prefix and random alone.

I will quote the important part of the article and will leave the link below.

Quote
While the attempt would not give the hackers access to user wallets, people who may have gotten into the habit of copying their wallet address from the transaction history before sending digital asset balances could potentially send their funds to copycat addresses.
Because of this, the wallet provider warned users always to be careful and double-check their transactions before sending their balances. The firm highlighted that it would be best to check every single character of the wallet address to make sure that the funds will be sent to the correct wallet.

source: Scam alert: MetaMask warns crypto users about address poisoning

The target is specific to people who are copying their address on their transaction history, I wonder what the percentage of people who are doing this, could be big numbers because they create specific targets I haven't done this on all my transactions I have a compilation of my wallets and I always see to it that I memorize at least the first three characters some characters in the middle and last three characters and check it on explorers especially if I'm moving big amount, took me at least 2 minutes but it's part of the precautions.
2691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It good For The Casinos And The Accusers If .. on: January 12, 2023, 02:45:31 PM
It's their choice where they want to settle the case, if the casino operators ask the complainant to settle this on other platforms and they both agree then its good but a complainant cannot be stopped to open a thread here because this is a forum and we can post topics as long as it is according to the forum rules, and it is posted the right section, but it should be noted that any unresolved accusation here will always become a reference on how a casino address their complaint, some members are harsh but ready to support casinos who know how to address complaints properly.
2692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it becoming a thread for casinos refusing paying very huge winnings? on: January 12, 2023, 01:56:57 PM
I came across a topic recently now on this very thread about a casino refusing to pay a woman ber jackpot winnings of over £35.4m and if you'll agree me that, this isn't a little sum of money to just ignore.

What got me worried isn't just the winning but why are casinos getting away without paying players their exactly winnings with some shitty excuses ?

Link to the post of the woman's winnings below
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5433888.0
Please I really want to understand this question and will be glad to hear from people

Do you mean trend, not thread, its a case to case basis no use generalizing its bad for the industry if gamblers have this kind of perception or opinion, its usually because of the violation committed by the users on online casinos it usually because of double account, exploiting a bug but in the case of a player in the article its because of the malfunction of the machine, in that case, I believe the lady deserves his winnings or at least she should be compensated because its emotional agony, knowing that she won because she plays fair but the casino decides that she is not the winner because of the machine malfunction, which is not under her control.
2693  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammers use too much brain on: January 12, 2023, 11:38:51 AM
Scammers always have been one of the most creative people in industry. On one hand they did not invent nothing new, on the other, they adopt old tricks to modern situation. And I even think that some people even have special cells in brains, that tells them "to try how something work if they do things different way", and part of the scam are done after curiosity. But when curiosity and creativity meet greed and laziness, people lose money.
They already existed long before Cryptocurrency existed, in fact, they long existed long before the internet was conceptualized, scamming already exists since time immemorial, they thrive on the greed of people they made a business out of people believing what will bring them healthy wealth and fame, we cannot stop these scammers and they will continue to scam, but we can prevent ourselves from falling to their traps and this is by educating ourselves and controlling our greed and knowing how to do research on the personality of people who offer you products, services, and profits that are good to be true.
2694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can players bet on their own games on: January 11, 2023, 10:30:32 PM
I’m curious to know if there’s any players (fighters, footballers….) who have been caught betting on themselves or on their own team to lose or win, i know it’s not allowed for any player as a part of their contract for example Ufc fighters are strictly forbidden from betting on their own fights. And the reason is pretty obvious since the player can easily manipulate the final score of whatever he is playing or fighting....
So i would like to know if you heard of any player been caught doing that? and if my example is right?

They can and it's unethical it's betraying your team and if caught doing so its the end of the player or the fighter's career you never betray your team whatever the situation is, your organization is paying you to win and they expect their fighters, and players to abide on their oath to the organization or promotion they are into and besides a fighter or a team owed it to the audience, to give his/their best even if the odds is against them, but its a practice done by many players who are not getting enough payment in their contract, so we can say its an open secret.

Katrina Bookman was playing the slots at the Resorts World Casino in Jamaica, Queens when she secured what would have been the largest slot machine jackpot in US history - $42,949,672 (£35.4m). She took a selfie with the machine to mark the moment, and later said her whole body went 'numb' when she saw the life-changing figure. Bookman was told to come back the next day to discuss her winnings, but when she asked an employee what she'd be walking away with, he responded: "You didn't win nothing." The New York State Gaming Commission said Bookman’s machine had malfunctioned, and that she'd actually won just $2.25 (£1.86).The machine had a disclaimer stating 'malfunctions void all pays and plays', and as a result the commission said that they were required by law to give Bookman only what she'd actually won.

Source: https://www.unilad.com/community/woman-won-43-million-offered-steak-dinner-instead-055644-20230108

Some Casinos are just plain fraudulent. So this woman visited a casino, play slot and won $43million. She took a selfie with the amount displayed on the machine. The casino saw it and told her to return the next day so they could talk about the winnings. Next day she returned. Story changed. She was told the machine had malfunctioned and therefore it was what was responsible for the winnings. They went ahead to offer her a complimentary steak dinner. I got so livid reading this story.

Isn't this just the stupidest reason not to give her her winnings?
Couldn't they have known that their so-called machine was faulty before letting gamblers use it?
How could they do this to her?

That just seems propostrous. I mean if the machine is faulty why is it there in the first place? They should at least give a compensation to the winner and they should be fined for having a faulty machine in operation.

That's the logical thing to do but the court and the casino commission in that country don't allow that because it's a glitch because the slot only allows, $6500 maximum winning as a player I will demand that what is shown on the screen should be awarded to me, the physical casino operators should explain the rules of the slots because compared to online casinos where the rules and terms are readable in one of the pages of the online casinos, compared to physical casinos they rely on their attendants and sometimes attendants failed to do their job, because of so many players playing at the same time.

I'm surprised that you launch a bounty campaign without a signature campaign if you look around the casino signature campaign are ruling this forum because this is very effective for casinos to market their casino here in Bitcointalk, you should add the signature campaign people even outside of this forum are looking for casinos to play and the signature campaign is a good branding.
2700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Are Players Going To Trust Casinos If They Don't Show Solid Evidence on: January 09, 2023, 03:31:09 PM
I think it is easy to trust a casino when all the reviews here in the gambling section are positive about them, they keep making new promotions to attract new players, they let you withdraw everything if you abide by the rules and conditions of the casino which I suggest anyone should read before joining (something very few persons actually do).

Also you can test the waters with small amounts and see if everything goes smoothly before venturing deep further. For me the main point to trust or not a casino is their ability to pay huge amounts won and the casinos that do so are trustworthy for me.All others you will see scam accusations coming up against them because most of the time they cannot afford let's say 100.000 dollars payments while the big reputable ones will have no problems whatsoever paying such money.

That's the best defense of reputable casinos if they can pay hundreds of thousands of dollars or even millions why would they stop withdrawals in hundreds or thousands, the big casinos have this luxury because they are proven to payout millions of dollars but for small casinos and new casinos its hard to keep hold of their defense that they can not show their proof to protect the security and integrity of the casino, that is where the scenario of his words against their words comes in.
