We had made multiple attempts to recruit someone to help out in this area without much success. This is an area we need to focus on more and can use more help. I spoke to a politician today that is running in the Canadian federal election. He may have been looking for a quick hello and support, but I pinned him down (not literally  ), and asked him how his party was going to regulate digital currency. He wasn't familiar with it and had never heard of bitcoin. I mentioned that digital currency and the blockchain will be the biggest technology revolution since the internet. I told him about the Canadian Senate's recommendations that encourage a "light touch", so as not to stifle innovation. He wants me to email him with more information so he can look into it. I am going to mention DCEBrief as the best news site for busy professionals. Please let me know tonight if you can think of a few powerful facts that I can use to help him understand how important this is. What benefits would a country have by being first to adopt digital currency? The best quick reply to squash the "bitcoin for criminals" nonsense. So are people to e-mail separately for each article, a list of all the networks they shared through?
I.e. - I an article on FB, LinkedIn and G+, I provide all three of my profiles, and then 30 DNotes? + 3 entries?
Thanks TeeGee, I would leave that up to the user. One big batch explaining what they did, or individually send an email for each article. I will process them manually, probably once a week. I will have a message here on the forum I can link to with further details and clarification of the process. |

The images on DCEBrief are a huge part of the design of the site, and more important than you may have thought. Just like the social media contest I have been delaying because I haven't come up with a good social media graphical flyer as of yet. Images are part of the marketing, they grab the users attention and interest.
I had a couple ideas for the weekly recap images and would like your opinions:
1) We can do an image for each individual mini article, and make a collage out of it.
2) Come up with the best visual representation of the category, and reuse it every week.
Each have advantages, option 1 is a larger time investment but will be more relevant to the individual topics as well as something new to look at each time that may draw their attention better. Option 2 is more relevant to the category, and when they see the image the will immediately know what it is for. The third option is a new category image each week, but that will be impossible to find good ones each time, si I've ruled it out.
For reference, I started with option 2, the digital currency one the best one so far in my opinion, but the other two may need improvement.
The pictures used in DCEBrief have been perfect. Having well suited and quality photos like that will help etch a story in the reader's mind. They are also very pleasant to look at which will keep the reader at the site longer. I like both the Digital Currency image and the Bitcoin image in option 2. The collage sounds very interesting as well, as long as it isn't too much work. Thanks Chase, I think we will continue with option 2 and focus on improving the blockchain one for next week. Appreciate the feedback. Also, Ken came up with a great idea to create a writing guide to keep everyone on the same page and clarify what an acceptable DCEBrief article is. I will be working on that today, if you have any suggestions for the guide, please let us know. |

We emailed them prior to their launch, letting them know we already use the trade symbol. I can't say exactly how that will work, as they are a bitshares asset, are they supposed to be listed on public exchanges or just basically in their bitshare asset exchange? Morning! Assets are created on their home system, then they either are or are not coded up onto an ‘outside’ exchange. Sometimes it happens within hours of the launch. Sometimes never. There are dozens of assets on Nxt’s Secure Asset Exchange that have not made it beyond. And the ‘Who is the real “Note” ‘ thing? Techno Wild West! It’s a shmozzle: who got born first, honest oversights, intent to scam (Nxt’s SAE!!), and the fact that trading abbreviation and name are different things. The two Paycoins slanged it out for ages. Both of them – XPY and PYC – are still listed on Cryptsy. Mark (IndiaMikeZulu), Australia Thanks for clarifying Mark. Probably not a big concern as of yet, but worth keeping an eye on. |
