2681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 19, 2022, 01:25:07 PM
Today the absolute classic of the English league Liverpool - Manchester Utd. The fight not only for prestige, but for both teams, any loss of points can be very painful. Liverpool are still hoping for the English championship, and Manchester are still struggling to qualify for the Champions League. For Liverpool, this is another tough game they have to play recently, but for me they are a clear favorite and I believe that they will beat the Red Devils today.
It ordinarily should be a classic match, but if we look at how bad United have been this season and a couple others back, then the game might not present itself as a classic one afterall, but one thing is certain, this fixture would always be tagged as a big match, even if the reverse fixture ended in a humilating 5-0 loss for United, the fixture would still be big in English football, if not for anything, for the history and rivalry in the past.

Having said that, United have to really step up in this game if they are to avoid being humilated again, the top four battle is open again, and United now have a good chance of making it into the top four, they just have to continue winning, Liverpool on the other hand know that any slip up would basically mean the title goes to the Etihad, so they will be giving it their all. I am predicting a draw in this match.
2682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 19, 2022, 11:50:28 AM
Bayern is great, I am not arguing against that, Bayern is obviously a magnificent team but we should also realize that this year's championship will not be due to Bayern being good but more about everyone else being bad.
I second that, and honestly i think the other teams in the German league needs to step it up and compete, they can't just continue to allow this monopoly, it is already getting boring, and sooner or later it will get worse. Take the Italian league for example, this past two seasons have been the most competitive/interesting in a long while, that's because the other teams found a way to compete and 'usurp' Juventus' dominance, last season they produced a different winner other than Juve, and this season Juve are not going to win it still.

People who watch the German League also deserve that sort of entertainment and competition, Dortmund have to do better, as well as the other top teams in the league, it is now more like even if Bayern are in their worst all through the season, they would still manage to be champions, i am pretty sure that is not something we all want to see, except of course if you are a Bayern fan.
2683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Research; The use of Crypto currencies for cyber laundering on: April 18, 2022, 05:44:19 PM
Crypto is the easiest path to money launder due it's anonymity feature and mixers to erased your transaction prints.
This is not correct. Or rather it is a popular misconception. The blockchain is a public ledger, transactions can be seen and traced, more often than not there is always a link, no matter how hard you try to eliminate them. Centralized exchanges have the data of their users, they watch their transactions and can always link it back to the sender or receiver. Politicians and other individuals have been laundering/embezzling/stealing money with fiat for so long with no traces, and of course there can be little or no traces with fiat, back in Africa and other places as well there have been numerous stories of politicians who stored up large sums of money under the ground, inside large buildings and in foreign banks. Fiat would always be the most convenient way to launder money cause you do not have to worry about the blockchain or third party services (mixers/centralized exchanges) giving you up when the government or other security agencies come calling.
believe you should start doing research on what CEX is a prime suspect on doing laundering because this will be an interesting input on this subject.
Centralized excanges are third party services, and if you leave your funds with them then you do so at your own risk. Remember the Bitcoin network is all about control and freedom, and if 'Not your keys, then Not your coins', thus this (flaws of centralized exchanges) doesn't support your claims that Bitcoin is the easiest way to launder money.
2684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy shareholders letters that more bitcoin would still be bought on: April 18, 2022, 05:04:00 PM
Microstrategy being an investor knows something or holds crucial Information about Bitcoin we might not have, and his increasingly accumulating Bitcoin for over the past years since he bought the idea about what Bitcoin is gonna be in the future, with my little experience in this industry, I think it's wise to follow the footsteps of this institutional investors,  because if them with the kind of money they operate, can risk into bitcoin let alone the small investors like us.
Hey mate, it is always better if you do your research all by yourselves, the influx of institutional investors into the network is great alright, but it is wrong to accumulate all because they are doing so, in the Bitcoin network there is no such thing as 'following anothers footstep', you must analyse/research about it all from an individual perspective before jumping into a decision. For example, when the influx started, whenever there was news about any new accumulation by an institutional investor, there was usually a pump in the price, some invesors/traders adopted that strategy to time when they would buy their next coin, but right now such news actually no longer has any effect on the price of Bitcoin, and as a result that strategy no longer works. My point is this: only invest cause you have done all of your research, not cause another individual/entity/company, etc is.
When it comes to crypto, people around me only think of BTC, and it is still difficult to change their minds about how to invest. As for the investment as well as the profits they can make...
You're correct, that is exactly the mindset newcomer investors come into the network with, the thing is this, you do not have to worry too much about the people around you, it is not your duty to change their minds about the network, let them do their research and come to a personal conclusion, you can provide research materials for them by the way.
seeing how large organizations are entering this market more and more, I just feel like I need to do something to keep up with the times.
Accumulate more, hodl as much as possible for the long term, and spend a little of your Bitcoin once in a while if you are opportuned to get where to.
2685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: April 17, 2022, 04:42:22 PM
So far I can't guess who deserves to win the Europa League because the chances are the same.
It is so difficult to choose between them, all of the teams are evenly matched, well that is going to make things a whole lot interesting. I would personally be rooting for West Ham to go all the way and win the trophy, i like the way they play and have gone about their business, not just in the Europa League, but also in the EPL, thus i think they deserve to finish the season with 'something', and maybe that might just be the Europa League trophy, who knows.

Having said that, if West Ham do win it, it is going to be absolutely huge for their club, they will be winning a trophy that will mean they will play in the CL next season, their fans will be beside themselves if this does happen. Fingers crossed till the very end anyway.
2686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy shareholders letters that more bitcoin would still be bought on: April 17, 2022, 01:51:07 PM
but personally, I am realizing more and more that I have to hold it more for my own wealth,
Yeah, Bitcoin is a long term project, and i hope most investors would do their research and find out about that before investing, if one is to invest in Bitcoin, then such individual must be prepared to stay in the network for a long period, it is not a get rich quick scheme, especially for those who purchase and immediately want quick returns. Another thing is that Bitcoin is also a currency, not just an investment option, more people should also be made to know that, you can spend your Bitcoins where Bitcoin payment is accepted, just exactly the way you use your fiat currencies.
2687  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Black List of crypto exchanges! (BANS and confiscation) on: April 17, 2022, 01:10:40 PM
Are you actually just finding out that when you use centralized exchanges you should expect things such as this? Your blacklist or whatever doesn't help in anyway. It is no longer news that centralized exchanges can make arbitrary decisions at absolutely anytime, and their users would definitely be affected by such decisions/actions. The right thing to do is to basically avoid centralized exchanges all together, because there is no way to avoid being censored, banned, having your account locked, having to submit KYC, etc when you use their service. The problem is long-standing and well known, see this topics too:

2688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is truly missing in the Bitcoin ecosystem to get this to the masses on: April 17, 2022, 12:48:44 PM
To get what to the masses exactly? The knowledge/idea of Bitcoin? If what i am thinking is what you meant, then there is actually nothing much to do, Bitcoin is no longer news amongst the 'masses', and everyone is privy to enough materials to do their research about the network, to learn more about it and either choose to adopt it or not.

As for what is missing, one thing is for sure and that is there is no perfect currency (fiat currencies for example struggle with inflation) nor investments (they would have pros and cons), the Bitcoin network is growing just fine if you ask me, especially when you consider how long it has been since its inception (not too long). It is a currency that offers freedom/control, it is censorship resistant and has actual utility, and if you want to use it as an investment, then it gives good ROI in the long run, the 'masses' should focus on what it is/what it has, rather than what is missing. And then if they don't get it or are still unsure, then the famous words of Satoshi could just be perfect:
Quote
If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
2689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 17, 2022, 12:38:35 AM
Cavani going to Newcastle would be understandable.
Yeah, very much understandable. Cavani can't be a starter in any top/big club right now, and even if a big club decides to have him just as a fringe player, he would still have to accept a massive paycut, just take a look at his time in United, he has had little or no playing time, only have very few starts and one or two cameos here and there.

But if he moves to Newcastle, he is going to get a very good deal money-wise, and his playing time would be much better than if he was in a big team. It is almost the same thing as moving to China or America as most players of his age do, but if he does move to Newcastle, the advantage is that he gets to stay in a competitive/most watched league and earn a very good sum so close to his retirement.
2690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 17, 2022, 12:04:59 AM
I also noticed this that sometimes they even do unreasonable things for example top 4 lose together in the same week
Happened at least 2 times this season this is one of the reasons why I don't actively bet for matches in Serie A
This is not in any way peculiar to just the Italian Seria A, this is football and such things happen, that is why football is a very dramatic sport to be honest, take a look at the EPL as well, the same thing is also happening there this season with the teams competing for fourth position. I am very much satisfied with the level of competition in the Italian league this season, it has been great to watch.
Inter will play against Roma next week.
This game is really going to be a test of character for both teams, one team (Inter) needs to win to keep their title hopes firmly in their hands, the other team (Roma) have to continue winning if they are to keep their hopes alive of breaking into fourth position, it is really going to be tough, but i think Inter would just edge them.
2691  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation and investment on: April 16, 2022, 10:19:56 PM
  • Will you continue to invest even if it is only 10%-20% of your total monthly income?
  • How do you achieve financial stability during this inflation?
All of this actually depends on the individual and what their income actually is, for a person who earns barely enough to handle their basic daily needs, i am pretty sure they would scarcely be considering any sort of investment, definitely not in this period. Having said that, as for myself i would basically just follow the same part that has been working for me for so long, i have never invested more than i can afford to lose, so i would continue in that way, investing a certain percentage, saving the rest for future investment and keeping some for my basic/daily needs.

Having said that, as for financial stability, that isn't something one achieves in a short space of time, it takes time, as well as careful planning, all you should simply do in this period is live within your means, cut down on unnecessary things and invest wisely, so somewhere along the line you could become stable financially.
2692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 16, 2022, 09:27:52 PM
When I look at the fight for fourth place in the Premier League, I always think - what kind of clowns are these?
To be honest i actually feel the same way, and the team i am most disappointed in is Arsenal, i mean, they had it in their hands and it looked like we were going to see another 'Arsenal' different from the team we knew in the past, but this was not to be so, they have capitulated just as quite a lot of people predicted, and i feel sorry for Arsenal fans, they actually thought they would definitely see their team in the CL next season, but now it is no longer in their hands, even if it is still very possible.

Having said that, i would no longer be making any prediction on who is going to finish fourth, since none of the teams in contention is ready to take a grip on that position, i will keep my fingers crossed till the very end.
2693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any Bounty who is giving Big Reward. on: April 16, 2022, 08:30:08 PM
Joining many bounties and learning lot of them.
As exploring new and upcoming bounties it's really hard to consider one for big rewards. Is there any specific section who notify on top Priorities.
There is no such thing mate. Bounties this days are more or less just a thing of luck, you could get paid or you could not, and that is why quite a lot of people do not look towards the direction of bounties but try out other productive stuffs in the network. Honestly, you should prolly do the same, there are a lot of new trends in the network, even if most of them are driven by hype, but you would be better of investing your time, knowledge and even funds in them than wasting it with bounties.
2694  Economy / Economics / Re: Where should I invest? on: April 16, 2022, 07:31:56 PM
<....>
It is a bad idea to ask others where you should invest, i have said this before and i would reiterate, when you ask questions like this you should of course be prepared for people to advise you on investing in projects they hodl, and of course what else should you expect, if i am to tell someone to buy a coin, it would have to be the coin i have put money on myself. But the thing is this, i only put money into it cause i believe in the project and have done my research about it, and it suits me pretty well.

My example above is just to hamper on how pertinent research is for every individual investor. But since you asked, if you are a long term investor, then you need a long term project, Bitcoin is the only long term project i know of. On the other hand, if you are a short term investor, then you can take a look at various altcoins, but mind you that they carry a lot of risk cause many are pump and dump coins and they could sometimes only be backed up by fake promises, meaning if they dump, that could be the end of it.
2695  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. life expectancy falls for 2nd year in a row on: April 16, 2022, 07:14:20 PM
In which case, bitcoin, coins and tokens which contribute towards prosperity could carry a net effect of causing us to live longer.

Bitcoin. It could literally save your life. And add more years to our lifespan than we otherwise would enjoy.
Lol, life expectancy can't be based on a single factor, at least that is how i see it, quite a lot of things contribute to its increase and decrease, for example one could own as many Bitcoins as possible, but be affected by depression and take his or her life; as a matter of fact having as much money as possible isn't even a factor to increase life expectancy, wealthy people are even known to be more careless about taking care of their health since they are privileged to afford quite a lot, many of which are unhealthy for them in the long run.

Bitcoin/fiat or whatever asset, whether physical or digital can't save ones life or make people live longer, absolutely not. People can only try to live a healthy life and be genrally careful, but honestly there is nothing one can point to as a guarantee to increase life expectancy.
2696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Scalability, Why Top Crypto exchanges Have not Integrated LN Network on: April 16, 2022, 06:46:07 PM
Actually i don't think anyone can state categorically what the reason is, only the top exchanges that are yet to integrate it can give the exact reason why, but they seem to be mute on the whole issue. I was reading something about it, you can find it in this link: https://www.fxstreet.com/cryptocurrencies/news/binance-and-coinbase-silent-on-bitcoin-lightning-community-tries-to-understand-why-202204150845 . I would also be sharing excerpts too.
Quote
One Redditor suggested that the Lightning Network availability would be essentially associated with fewer incentives to keep Bitcoin on exchanges like Binance due to expensive withdrawals.
Could the above excerpt make sense? Could Binance actually be shunning the integration so users of their website would not be tempted to move all of their funds out, since they would be able to do it at a cheaper rate.
Quote
The Lightning enthusiast also doesn’t expect other exchanges like Coinbase to integrate Lightning support in the near future “since the priority seems to be to integrate as many altcoins as possible and follow the trends of the market,”
From the above could this exchanges be more concerned about the ongoing trend/hype than actually integrating the LN in their system, many of this reasons actually makes sense, and there are many more in the link above, just like the OP, i would also like to know what the community thinks about it, of course after going through the link i sent.
2697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: April 15, 2022, 05:05:46 PM
I deeply feel this season UEFA Champion's League trophy has Manchester City name written over it already...
I sincerely hope so, i am a Manchester City supporter and i would hope for nothing other than exactly this. But mind you that it is not going to be easy, not by the stretch of any imagination, Real Madrid are going to be so tough to beat, they have been in this position so many times and have won, and not just that, in most of those situations they went on to win the trophy, that is why they have won this tournament more than any other team. City on the other hand are only playing in their third CL semi-final ever, so as for experience, Real have buckets load of it. But notwithstanding City are still favorites in my opinion, and the last time we played Real in the UCL we came out victorious, i would likewise be hoping for the same scenario this time around. The CL has eluded City for so long, it is time to win it.

Liverpool on the other hand face an easier opponent on paper, but for a team that eliminated Juventus and didn't stop there, rather went on to eliminate Bayern Munich, i would just keep my fingers crossed till the 180 minutes across the two legs is over.
2698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: April 15, 2022, 10:45:18 AM
Its not in the departure of Messi from Barcelona, you have to understand that Xavi is missing something in which unless he identified such it might end up running Barca down in their match performance, the entire whole team have to be reorganize, they need to understand each player's strategies and provide a blending for it, this was the kind of formation Messi has being scaling through when he was in Barca, are the psychologist doing it right?.
Right before Barcelona signed Xavi did you watch them, did you also take cognizance of their league performaces and position on the table, if you did, and if you have also been watching Barca since Xavi took over then you will understand that Xavi deserves an awful amount of credit and praise, as a matter of fact i really can't understand why anyone would point any finger at Xavi based on what he has done with this team since his arrival.

Don't get me wrong, i am not saying the young man is a perfect manager, what i am saying is that since his appointment the team has been ten times better than what they were before, he made very good signings and has been very influential in helping players who had lost all of their confidence and were playing terribly, for example, Dembele, the young man was heading down the precipice, but right now his form is great.

The team is blending just fine, and do not also forget that this man is just months into this job, he should be under the lights and appraisal should be passed on him by the end of next season which will be his first full season in the job, for now it should be all credit, Barcelona are now almost certain of coming back to the CL next season, at one time this season it seemed impossible. Xavi has been great.
2699  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A blind investor's confession on: April 15, 2022, 10:00:12 AM
I need help.
Well, the best help anyone can give to you will still depend solely on you, and that is you must do your own research before doing anything on the network, newcomers tend to invest/trade before learning/researching, you could prolly be lucky and it works for you that way with one or two projects, but what are the chances? Pretty low if i must be honest with you.

Thus, forget about the losses, it is more or less very common these days that people always learn the hard way, what i mean is, they learn a lot of what they should have known before investing/trading only after they have made a mistake and lost some of their funds, take it to be a process, and going forward do your research, focus on long term projects (Bitcoin), invest only what you can affford to lose, remember that whatever is too good to be true, is prolly not true, etc, etc...
2700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: April 14, 2022, 05:43:57 PM
The trio of MUFC, Spurs and Arsenal will be aiming for a win to continue their push for the 4th position and final champions league slot for next season. With MUFC poor form, it is hard to predict their outcome, while we can expect a spurs victory and Arsenal poor draw once again.
Personally i do not even think Manchester United are still in the race for top four, in my opinion that battle is now between Arsenal and Spurs, Arsenal had it in their hands, but in the last two weeks they have dropped crucial points to throw the top four race wide open again, honestly it now looks like Spurs are the team with momentum to go on and grab that all important fourth position. Southampton are a very difficult opponent to play against, if Arsenal get anything other than three points and Spurs win, then Spurs would be in pole position to finish fourth.
Meanwhile in the fa cup, Liverpool host Manchester City at Wembley, renewed rivalry, FACUP at stakes, what are your odds? I see a City slim victory here
City played a tough game in the EPL against Liverpool on Sunday, and another tougher game yesterday against Athletico Madrid, a few of Pep's players also picked up injuries in the process, and i am sure the boys are going to be a little bit tired, Liverpool had the liberty to rest some of their players in their game against Benfica yesterday, so i think they will be fresher for this match and that could give them the advantage, but with the depth in this City's side, you can never count them out, can you.
