Ah, if only Google Translate could pick up sarcasm... Tongue
2702  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Building High-End Gaming System - does it make sense to mine on it while idle? on: July 08, 2013, 08:05:26 AM
Mining LTC while idle is probably OK, you can make a bit off that, but be aware it will add a LOT of heat.  I run a pair of 7950 in a machine, and it adds about 5C to the ambient temp of the house.  It'll be good in winter but it's mad in the summer.
2703  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: New Mining Computer, What combo should I use ? on: July 06, 2013, 08:50:17 AM
I'd go the 990FX every time.  I had problems with the lower end Intel chipsets.  My main mining rig is an Intel based machine, an Asus P8B WS (C206 chipset) with 3x7950 and an i3-3225.  My other one is on an Asus SABERTOOTH 990FX board, running an FX-8320, and a pair of 6970.   It's got a beefier CPU as it's also my game/workstation.

complaining that it sees more OpenCL devices than devices with ADL.

Try using dummy plug's on all GPU's.

Try swinging a dead wombat around the room too, because it's probably as useful as dummy plugs.

When will people get it in to their heads that dummy plugs haven't been needed in over 18 months?  This old issue was fixed back in late 2011.
2705  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Fan Sizes on 60gh units on: July 04, 2013, 11:15:04 AM
Yes, someone does.
2706  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Where is the pool web server sources? on: July 04, 2013, 10:41:08 AM
That front end looks the same as the one used by WeMineLTC.com - so it may be an easily obtainable front end.
2707  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining pool cgminer 3.1.1 (outdated) with raspberri pi on: July 04, 2013, 10:38:33 AM
Slush's pool is good if you're able to mine 24/7 with good reliability.

Eligius isn't bad either.

The version of cgminer isn't critical, I still use an old 2.11.4 on one machine, and it works fine.
2708  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL now getting customer financing? on: July 03, 2013, 07:39:01 PM
To be fair, if you're not running your business like this, you're doing it wrong.  Buy on credit, sell with markup before credit is due.
2709  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Discrepancy: Accepted shares vs. registered shares at Slush's Pool ???? on: July 03, 2013, 03:26:08 PM
So what is wrong with this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1976.0 - the one everyone else uses for queries about Slush's?  Or am I missing your specialness?  Huh

And now I'm back in the queue again.  Huh

You may have seen yourself in the payout queue during the beginning of a round when the system could potentially have had enough to pay some of your shelved shares and bump you into the payout queue.  Most likely that didnt actually happen and the round was slightly longer than it needed to be to get to your shelved shares.  Normal behavior.  You'll likely have to continue mining if you want a faster payout, or your payout will timeout where it is at generally within a week if none of your shelved shares are paid.

Thanks, I sort of figured that after I posted, thanks to WynX. Smiley  Eagerly awaiting my payout.  Grin

It will come Smiley, but Wizkid is right, next to my explanation, also the holding of shelved shares (by stopping hashing in a particular round) can contribute to removal from the payout queue. All is normal behaviour indeed. Keep hashing like you're doing now, it should be done in a few days Smiley.

Well I hit the payout threshold this morning, and saw my address at about 72nd in the payout queue.  I checked again a few minutes ago and my address has gone from the queue.  I've not received anything.  NOW I'm confused.  Huh

Unless something has changed recently, phoenix doesn't do stratum.  Either use the stratum proxy, or use cgminer like the rest of the planet. Smiley

Well, that would explain that. I'd love to use cgminer but it crashes on startup for me every time.

Tried it with AMD 12.6 drivers? I had same problem with 13.xxx?

Yeah, this is a drivers issue.  You'll have to start in to the merry AMD driver dance.  I've yet to figure out what version of drivers are the most reliable.  One drive will mine LTC, a different one with do BTC, one version will work perfectly on one machine and not on another - it's a real pain.  Trial and error time.

All that said, I've had the best luck with 12.8 drivers.  They seem to be the least crashy with cgminer.

Mining for 10 hours?  Is that all the info you're going to give us?  How about telling us your hashrate?

Did you use the calculator on the front page that tells you how much to expect?  Difficulty has gone up a lot recently, so you'll not get the same payback you would have "a while ago".

They also have a thread here somewhere, maybe ask in there?  I know the LTC end of the pool had some issues in the past few days.
2715  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12000 GH/s] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: July 02, 2013, 04:14:06 PM
wemineltc.com is what I switched my GPUs to. Good payouts so far, especially with the value of LTC right now.

Same here, it's a nice LTC pool.  I did use ltcmine.ru for a little while, but they've had a few DDOS attacks and other issues.  WeMineLTC is supposed to be DDOS-proof, thanks to servers all over the place behind DDOS protection.
2716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Using Onboard GPU for normal Work while mining with and AMD GPU? on: July 02, 2013, 04:10:52 PM
Should work with Clarkdale OK - it's your board that's likely the issue.  I run the onboard video with both a 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen CPU (Pentium G620 and i3-3225).

Likely the BIOS on your board doesn't allow running the iGPU along with other GPUs - it's not really something people have wanted to do until recently.

I'm running the i3-3225 on an old P8B WS - using the HD4000 for "work", and the 2x7950 for mining.  No need for dummy plugs either.  Heck, I even mine Litecoins on the HD4000 when I'm not at the computer, every little helps!
2717  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Do you still want to buy a BTC miner? Better read this first. on: July 02, 2013, 09:22:38 AM
Not everyone is buying these things to get a ROI.  I mine for the challenge of getting the best hashes from my hardware possible, and keeping my uptime as close to 100% as I can.  It's a hobby.  The fact I get some money out of it is a bonus to me.
2718  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Does anyone have the 5ghz ButterflyLabs miner? on: July 02, 2013, 09:19:25 AM
The stock fan on the Jally looks a bit....what shall I say?  Sub-optimal.

Can someone list the maker and model number of the stock fan?  I'm pretty sure a better fan would cool better while being quieter at the same time.
2719  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL 30GH delivered on: July 02, 2013, 09:04:08 AM
Nice stuff.  Hope my Jally doesn't take a year to arrive. Smiley  Then again, I'm not exactly worried about ROI - I wasted enough electricity doing RC5 cracking for 10 years, at least mining BTC gives me some money back. Smiley
2720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proposed mining setup on: July 02, 2013, 08:57:12 AM
Don't bother with the APU, the GPU in them won't mine for shit.
