Help?  Well, how about:

1. Searching
2. Reading the hundreds of threads you'll find
3. Asking a coherent question once you've read all the threads

You know, like someone who isn't a cretin would do?
1702  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Mining with Chromebook (Samsung) possible? on: November 21, 2013, 02:41:41 PM
Probably cheaper to buy an old netbook (The Dell Inspiron Mini 10v is ideal as it's fanless) and run Linux on it.  Or even the low-end versions of Windows 7 would work (Windows 7 Starter would do it).
1703  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: (UK) ASICMiner Cube 30Gh/s to 38Gh/s (worldwide) on: November 21, 2013, 02:04:37 PM
Not saying this is necessarily true about CloverNo01, but don't forget a LOT of UK folks got scammed by dragonvr not so long ago (me included, I lost 2BTC), when the Block Erupters came out first.  He got away with a lot...

Escrow would be advised.  Paying FIAT via Paypal/BACS is as risky as paying by BTC - you've got no come back.

I think I'd be waiting on OutCast3K's GB for these - he's the official ASICMiner distributor for the UK, and a trusted and proven supplier.

1705  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Power Supply Issues using ASIC BLOCK ERPUTERS on 10 USB HUB on: November 21, 2013, 01:44:37 PM
Quote
I'm using 10 asic block erupters v3 and plugged directly into a power strip that is plug into the wall.

The power supply units came with the hubs and are 4a 12v, any help is well appreciated.

thank-you

A 4 amp psu well not run 10 erupters.  You need a minimum of .500 amps per stick, your 4 amp psu's can do 8 sticks, running 10 sticks overloads the psu and causes erupter errors.

Wrong.  A 4A@2V PSU will give out close to 8A@5V assuming a reasonably efficient voltage conversion inside the hub.

1707  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to use ASICMiner Block Erupters with CGMiner on Windows 7 on: November 21, 2013, 11:27:00 AM
What is the correct way to reset cgminer to re-detect all attached AMU's when they go sick, dead or zombie?

Fix your USB hub power issues, rather than worrying about software.
1708  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: November 21, 2013, 11:25:33 AM

you *may* need to swap to a different OS if you plan on using a lot of miners with XP

idk what you are talking about... i got 51 on one machine and 70+ on another machine that is both windows...

is that windows XP though? i have all mine running on 7 with no issues. Smiley

no that is windows 7. and actually i just moved all 121 to the same computer

Facepalm.   Roll Eyes
1709  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: ASICMINER CUBE SETUP HELP on: November 21, 2013, 10:10:13 AM
It's pretty simple - the batch file the OP posted is mostly correct.  He just needed to move to BFG 3.6.0, remove the --disable-gpu as it isn't needed, as there is no GPU support any more on pre-compiled versions.  Only the Win32 version has the proxy, which you can run on 32-bit and 64-bit Windows.  I suspect he was using the Win64 version of BFG which would be the issue.

Also you need to use a unique username for each blade connecting to the BFG proxy.  They can be anything, doesn't matter, as long as they're unique.
1710  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Power Supply Issues using ASIC BLOCK ERPUTERS on 10 USB HUB on: November 21, 2013, 09:58:34 AM
Im not using the 49-Port ASICMINER USB Hub

I have a single 10 slot usb hub that came with the appropriate power supply unit. These hubs require a 5.5mm 2.1mm jack, so won't getting a atx power supply be useless?

No.  You cut off the lead from one of the million dead bricks you have, splice the wire to a molex connector (which conveniently give out 12v and 5v, just use whichever your hub needs), job done.

I run three hubs off the same PSU I run my Blades off.  Two hubs run off 12V, one off 5V.  All three use the same barrel connector, so I have the leads well marked as to what voltage the barrel plug outputs.  I also used to run the TPLink router off the ATX PSU using the same method, though I now use a RPi running off one of the USB hubs.

Barrel plugs are almost always centre positive, so really all you need is a multimeter (you can get them for £5 if you don't have one), a soldering iron (a soldering kit is about £10), and a few molex splitter cables to cut up.
1711  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Erupter blade. Help! on: November 21, 2013, 09:44:20 AM
Running a Blade off a single Molex is dodgy, the Blade uses more power than the Molex's rating.

I run mine off a 6-pin PCI-E connector, which I made using a PCI-E extension cable.  Cut off the male end, and connect the wires to the green Phoenix connector.  Job done.

Some PSUs won't run with only a 12V load, they expect there to be some 5V load too - my old Zalman 1000W unit would run my Blades at all until I hooked up a few fans to the 5V line.  Now I use a Corsair CX750 which runs perfectly with only a 12V load and nothing on the 5V.

If you're still stuck, I'll take a pic of mine this evening.

Anyone got a seller for these things or other similar miners in that price range

1713  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Aftermarket cooling for 7950/7970 Cards - Where are the options? on: November 20, 2013, 08:36:29 PM
What do we do ?

Get with the times and buy an ASIC.  Huh

This isn't for mining bitcoin. i figured I'd ask here, however, since many folks have GPU experience.

Ah, sorry. Smiley  Umm...I guess now that most manufacturers have got their act together with cooling, there's not so much need for aftermarket ones.

I suppose eBay would be a decent place to start - you might get used ones.

Yeah, they're not being made any more.  They're too busy making overpriced Cubes now...
1716  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Blue Fury Support Thread. on: November 20, 2013, 07:34:11 PM
If I hold the a blue fury with the USB connector pointing up and look at the fury chip there are tags to the top, left and bottom that have solder loops joining some of the tags but no tags on the right hand side joined together. No blue fury that I have has the same set of tags joined by solder.

Can someone please confirm that the tags for the top, left and bottom are all joined together on the board and the tags make no difference?

The one that died on me had all the legs on the left hand side connected together...but then again it looks like they're all ground plane anyway.  It's death may or may not be related.
1717  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Power Supply Issues using ASIC BLOCK ERPUTERS on 10 USB HUB on: November 20, 2013, 07:29:01 PM
Why can't you run the hubs off an ATX PSU like everyone else?

forrestv is.
1719  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: 50BTC + DDoS ....where are my BTC? on: November 20, 2013, 07:23:20 PM
So, big question is, why the hell did you leave 11BTC in your wallet on a pool?  That's like leaving a years salary in notes in your desk drawer at work.

Auto cashout at 0.1-0.5BTC, so this shit doesn't happen.
there's probably a reasonable explanation, like mining at 10thash or so

Automatic withdraw at 1BTC still works if you're mining at 10TH or 333MH...

All but 0.15GH is referrals.  I did have over 50GH 'cloud' mining and 30GH 'real' miners at one time.
