2701  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Comparative Features On Top Phone Antivirus For Crypto Wallets Protection on: January 01, 2021, 02:22:59 PM
To be honest, I dont have any protection such as AV on my mobile phone but on my desktop, yes, there is.  But did you know that there's no computer system that totally safe or virus-proof?  Why?
Because all android phones always have released and do patches regularly to combat at a potential risk that you may download from unknown sources.  So, the best thing to do is always up to date the version of your android to increase the security level and to ensure that you are protected.

Upon installing a crypto wallet on your android learn how to verify first before deciding to download, use a legitimate website instead of in the Google Play store and I think recommendable as you said is now an option to them.  The last thing is, always separate your email for the Bitcoin wallet.

Anyway, thank you for that list and might helpful from other aspects, but if only focus on Bitcoin wallet, I don't think it is recommendable.
2702  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: cant see bitcoins in wallet on: January 01, 2021, 01:52:02 PM
this was recieved over 2 years ago and unfortunately I dont have any of this information but at the time it was checked on the block chain that it had been sent to my wallet on armory
If you already checked on Blockchain.com and your balance was there, it should be there if you are sending it to the correct Bitcoin address.  Now, your problem is Bitcoin core isn't fully synced to your armory wallet and I think this is the most common problem also among others.

I found a thread with the same problem as you and probably this will help you regarding that matter.
Armory Wallet stuck in Sync mode?

Technically, I didn't deeply understand this armory wallet too but I also found this regarding issues using this armory wallet reading this Troubleshooting Tips for Armory.

2705  Economy / Economics / Re: NFL Player Salary Paid in Bitcoin on: December 29, 2020, 11:59:16 PM
It seems that this player, Russell Okung is also a crypto enthusiast.  Probably he already knows what is Bitcoin and he said from his tweet that he wants to free from fiat which is a being realistic choice.

This another points to Bitcoin that brings awareness to people and those who supported this player.  I hope there's someone who will educate them on the possible risk of holding Bitcoin.

There are different institutions now was aware of Bitcoin not only in sports.
2706  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - How do I add BTC into my balance from my receiving address? (Newbie) on: December 29, 2020, 11:50:44 PM
I saw the transaction history based on the image shown above is quite old and it was the last few months ago.

Probably your transaction was stuck on mempool due to the network was a bit congested at this moment and you're putting a small fee and if you have time to check your transaction, please check it before concluding that you have been scammed.  Just put it here, https://blockchair.com/ even your wallet address to check if there is an ongoing transaction.  If there is, and if the transaction is unconfirmed it will bit delayed displayed to your transaction history.

But if my conclusion is wrong, no doubt, you have been scammed, never use that wallet again and clean your PC as suggested above.
2707  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A couple of questions about privacy on: December 29, 2020, 11:33:41 PM
If you're concerned about privacy, just use the mixing service or a wallet that generates a new address after having a transaction.  Many of us here prefer to use Electrum since it is free and easy to use, this wallet has a feature of generating a new address for you after sending or receiving Bitcoin and the older deposit address will still work or any that has generated will reuse if you want.

My question is, why you worried about your Bitcoin transaction?
It will not directly link to your real identity unless if you are using a custodial wallet which is there are alternatives that possibly will help you not connect with that wallet, mixing service is the best for you.
2708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has bitcoin done to you? on: December 29, 2020, 11:04:06 PM
What has bitcoin done to you? Is it Happiness or Regret?
It's a lot and I can't count using my fingers.

I seldom when it comes to buying Bitcoin, and most of my Bitcoin that I accumulate and collected was came from joining signature in the forum, and I say, I'm really thankful that I found this forum and discover Bitcoin as well.  Until such time I learned how to trade using my rewards and fortunately, I'm able to gain profit on it even though I don't have enough experience only the knowledge that I got here in the forum.

I think no one will regret it unless those people who are lack knowledge of how Bitcoin work and get scammed with a huge amount of money.
2709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What is the MAXIMUM time you are willing to wait on crypto-exchange... on: December 29, 2020, 05:48:07 PM
Now, how long are you willing to wait for this order to complete before you click on "cancel" ?  I know it depends on circumstances, but just some rough estimate or a guess will be fine.
It will depend on which exchange you have been used, most likely.

Probably choosing a crypto exchange that has a high volume will have the fastest execution of orders you have(buy and sell) and not frustrating of waiting when it will be executed.  Using CEX will most likely have a fast trading volume than the DEX, this trading volume will indicate how many cryptos or Bitcoin for example that being sold in a specific exchange and those exchanges will found on the CMC ranking exchange.  The higher volume means the fastest execution of orders.
2710  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will bitcoin price start Falling? on: December 29, 2020, 05:29:00 PM
A friend told me that some people borrowed money from banks to invest, and it had paid off for them
No, don't do this.  It's a very complicated thing when you borrowed money and invest in crypto which is very risky, this is the scariest than seeing the price goes down in the market.  I advise investing in what you can afford because all the movement of Bitcoin price is unpredictable and no one knows when it will be headed in the future.

Just invest now if you want and hold it until you have your profit because if you are going to ask me, probably Bitcoin price will never go down beyond $20k IMO.  There are a lot of institutions and investors who invested in Bitcoin and we're not on hype, not just like what happened before(year 2017).  The demand and supply will always matter and that is the reason Bitcoin price will remain increase even right after there is a small correction.
2711  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Recover wallet electrum. Help needed. on: December 29, 2020, 05:00:04 PM
i did try that and the seed gives ''ok''  but it brings up an empty wallet.
In addition,

If you tried the suggested above about the "Script type and Derivation path" then it brings up an empty wallet, try to change the last HD account numbers that could be found below on the same window.  It seems like this "m/44’/0’/0", repeat the restoration process and change the HD number like this "m/44’/0’/1" and if not works change on this, "m/44’/0’/2" until your fund will reflect on the window.

Make sure that you always use the latest version of Electrum even though you created your wallet in the oldest version because it will surely fix all known bugs in Electrum.  And also the correct order and spelling of seed is should be a must.
2712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Had you sold your Bitcoins ? on: December 29, 2020, 03:38:23 PM
I respect your decision is, just because you have the right to decide whatever you want in your Bitcoin holding.  If you think that you have profited since you have bought your Bitcoin then, that is fine but I don't agree when Bitcoin turns to $6k again, it seems impossible that it will happen because as for me, we're already on the medium exchanges that Bitcoin becomes on the mainstream.  More and more people having the awareness of Bitcoin since there are few institutions that had accepted Bitcoin.

If you are going to ask me, I held some of my Bitcoin.  The half was sold and the other half for a long term investment and put into my cold wallet.  I understand why most holders as of now sell their Bitcoin, during holidays we need financial assistance, and selling Bitcoin is very common and the best opportunity while we are in the bull market.
2713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie seeking for a answer on: December 29, 2020, 03:11:44 PM
Is Satoshi Nakamoto the founder of bitcointalk forum as well? I checked his profile and it says founder instead of legendary member or hero members like others, if he is the founder then I can easily add this to one of my reasons why this is the best place for crypto new comers to be. Thanks
Probably you've confused about satoshi the rank, instead of Legendary or Hero member as you can see, a Sr. member rank next to the "founder" badge under his name that found on the satoshi's profile.  The reason is, that account was inactive a long time ago and didn't reach the requirement to rank even though satoshi was received enough merits to rank up, supposedly.  The Merit & new rank requirements was introduced by theymos (admin) on January 24, 2018, and satoshi was inactive since December 3, 2010, so that account ain't able to rank up due to the requirements needed.

And you're right, this forum is the best place for all crypto enthusiasts.  Welcome on board and this is the best place to hang out while learning different discussions relating to blockchain technology or cryptos in general.
2714  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't buy what you can't hodl. on: December 28, 2020, 11:59:15 PM
I have come to realize that in any situation of the market, patience is much needed and also your choice of coins for investment and time of investment also matters.
This!
This is the most important when you are planning to invest in crypto and choose the safest to invest, and that is Bitcoin.  When you decided to sell your coin at a low price, you might also know that you are at a losing point which means that you already accept that you have been losing already.  Much better if you will wait for a perfect time to sell your coin and when you see that your profit was there.

I tend to agree with what you have said, that buy if you cant hold.  It means that invest in what you can't afford, not use your monthly allowance, your monthly bill, or any emergency fund that needed anytime you need.  Invest like you are saving an amount that you can afford and patiently willing to wait for a perfect time for taking a profit.  That's how it is.
2715  Economy / Speculation / Re: Selling at $27K, then getting back in around $27.8K if breakout seems likely? on: December 28, 2020, 11:48:51 PM
You're aiming and play a small amount of profit and the fees of doing that might kill you and instead to have profit it goes to the fee.

Why not sell all your Bitcoin at the point of maybe 30% profit overall and buy back when there's a correction happen, we know that Bitcoin has high fees and you can't cover this if you are often having transactions.  There's no problem with having a buying and selling point but make sure you've played a big amount so that the fees won't hurt you.

Besides, that is too risky, you will never know the price movement of Bitcoin and when is the perfect time to sell and buy.  Anytime Bitcoin will move up and down without any specific time frame where it will go heading.
2716  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake Yearn Finance Dashboard on: December 28, 2020, 11:35:25 PM
Probably the site was already down, I can't access anymore the link given by the OP.  If we saw a phishing link like this, we immediately report to the Google Report Phishing Page, so that they will immediately take action about their Adsense.

The suggestion above was right, use Coinmarketcap if you are looking for an exchange platform so that you can assure your self that you are safe browsing and never use the Google search engine because that's the problem with them, they can't filter those scam ads or phishing ads.  For them, as long as the ads will pay they still accept it and they never mind those people that might become a victim just because of them.
2717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: High transaction fees on: December 28, 2020, 11:17:55 PM
The given link above was right to monitor the mempool network condition before having a transaction on Bitcoin.  Because there's no way to avoid fees if the network is congested it is expected that you will pay high fees.  Also, if you bought your Bitcoin on the exchange platform, it is expected that you will experience a high fee, they had a fixed fee on their own.  That's how their business work, through fees.

If there is an exchange that supports Lightning Network or a Segwit wallet that you can able to modify fees into a lower fee, that's pretty good, but as of now, you can only choose a wallet that has a feature like this not on exchange.  For example, Electrum wallet.

Can you tell us which exchange you bought your Bitcoin?
2718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there real initiatives to fight scam in crypto?? on: December 28, 2020, 11:01:19 PM
Cryptocurrencies scams are now popular and there are too many ways to trick people and fool them by asking for money through cryptocurrency, but if that related to a scam project probably you can hunt down the owner.

If you have been experienced fraud or other bad business, you can report it here, Federal Trade Commission they had connected different law enforcers.

And regarding Bitcoin scam or any transaction that used blockchain, you can also use this, Chainalysis.
2719  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are there any relationship between Gold and Bitcoin ? on: December 27, 2020, 11:44:11 PM
This has been discussed so many times, comparing Bitcoin to the stock market or gold.

We always comparing them to if there is a relationship between these valuable assets, but it has a long debuted from members the comparison or the relationship they had.  But for me, they don't have a direct correlation because they had different cons and pros.

I saw a thread last week created by @Hydrogen, here you may take a look at the price chart.

As you can see, they don't have the same pattern.

And the existent topics.
2720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are your Bitcoins safe? on: December 27, 2020, 11:06:06 PM
I remember this to my friend who had lost 0.008 Bitcoin on his wallet because he forgot the password and seed phrase.  I helped him but we didn't recover the lost bitcoin even he trying to remember the seed.  I told him that he should have a lesson to learn about keeping the seed safe and should have a back up, the amount that was lost is considered a big amount here in my country and until now we didn't get it back.

Once we had to hold Bitcoin, we should also know that we are responsible to keep it safe including the seed phrase and the password.  There are too many ways to keep your seed safe and also should always have back up.

This is the most important when people want to invest in Bitcoin, they should also know how to store Bitcoin properly not lost, and also theft.
