There is always an opinion that these ASICs were mined when the profit was very large, and after the end of mining, the company decided to sell them. If they mine Ethereum Classic later, the payback could be long. Video cards are now cheaper.

Gddr6x graphic cards get hotter when mining than gaming, talking from my own experience, even if I throw a graphically demanding game like The Wither 3 on my 3080ti the memory temp won't go up compared to when mining Ethereum.

why not test memory temp on 3080ti with new game like cyberpunk2077,Dying Light 2,Red Dead Redemption 2,Forza Horizon 5,Far Cry 6
I checked the memory temperature in the game, the article says that 96 degrees in memory is acceptable on this video card.If the memory temperature is above 100 degrees, then the performance in games will also fall.
https://www.hardwareluxx.ru/index.php/artikel/hardware/grafikkarten/51590-test-i-obzor-chetyre-geforce-rtx-3080-ti-ot-gigabyte-inno3d-msi-i-nvidia.html?start=7

Not fall, but past the point of 100*C, it accelerated the VRAM degradation if you keep that for over a long time, 24/7. Some said the performance loss and instability fall are the part of throttling like when VRM overheats and throttling CPU but some don't agree with that. Most miners I know attempt every way to cool the temp of GDDR6X VRAM if it was part of their rig.
I think they should opt for a long term solution which means replacing the thermal pad of GDDR6X VRAM with copper-based cooling for better heat transfer and dissipation. It's more expensive, I know but as the GPU manufacturer cheap out the components, this is the best you could get till they start addressing this with the top-tier cards that have better cooling for GDDR6X VRAM.

Pic of 3070ti from some YTuber with copper-based cooling instead of the thermal pad. Temp drop is pretty impressive, max 64*C at 2.5 hours of mining.

I wrote a lot about copper thermal pads.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5393036.msg59773080#msg59773080
It is better for a beginner to use good proven thermal pads that will not harm the video card if installed incorrectly. And the temperature difference is minimal.

This is a bad motherboard for mining. Are you using a similar adapter?

How can you tell if it’s a scam?  I have been working with a site that for believe scammed me and it has identical Registrant info in Whois. Www.cryptomine-invest.com

Ask this question next time before you send money to an unknown company. This is a mining section, not a discussion of sites that attract investments. Try to understand mining and earn cryptocurrency if you have inexpensive electricity.
2705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig reboots error on: July 03, 2022, 02:52:18 PM
Check each memory module with memtest. If you have memory modules of 4 GB or more, then use 1 memory module and watch the mining farm. You will find the reason if the farm is rebooted further.
2706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I am new to mining and I need some guidance on: July 03, 2022, 02:47:01 PM
If you look at past experience, then it took the miners six months for 50% of the hashrate to disappear from ethereum mining and the profit in coins increased.I'm not sure if all these miners are making a profit now,but they keep mining.

Yes I know but I am still liking what I am seeing right now which is the difficulty being at 11.25 P when only yesterday morning it was well over 14 P,I am already starting to make more coins daily,I used to make like 0.0039 Ethereum with that high difficulty of the network and now I am making like near 0.0049 Ethereum daily for my same performance of just over 300 Mhsh.I hope this continues massively to go down during the summer so we can collect a lot of coins,I get paid in Bitcoin as I am not interested at all in Ethereum so this is the time to jump in the train and keep accumulating.
The number of mined coins has increased by 25%, but jump in the outgoing train late, because there is not enough time to pay back the equipment. An alternative to 3070 Ti can be, for example, 2 second-hand Rx5600, which can now be bought very cheaply and they do not heat up even in summer.

I think that is very true,I was checking the local market and the Rtx 2060 Super was like 250 Eur for 42.5 Mhsh which I think is a great price, for those who want to jump in and looking for alternatives now there are tons of them,I also like the 2060 series of card because beside you can find them very cheap now, they also do not hit you hard regarding electricity consumption.Hopefully we continue to see a decline in price and I am sure near September I can buy in the used local market a mining rig full of 2060 series for just 1000 EUR,looking forward to that moment. The same can be said about the Rx 5600 series.
Rtx 2060 Super would be preferable due to the fact that this video card has 8 GB of memory. But the Rx5600 video card has less power consumption, although it has 6 GB of memory, like the Rtx 2060. But these video cards do not have hashrate locks and they are cold.
2707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please note that miner prices are about to rise on: July 02, 2022, 04:01:37 PM
If you study this scenario, then after the end of mining, the profit may not even be enough to pay for electricity. There will be problems with other expenses. There are no new coins for mining with a good profit now.

You guys should look at the new M.2 PCIE 4x USB adapters.

M.2 -> 4x PCIEx1 with usb cables. You can stop using those PCIE X1 things and connect to M.2 slots with USB directly. No mishaps or mistakes any more.

Not bought one myself but looking to try them out if they have better availability. Not seen too many sellers but some in China that take their time to ship.

Here a example:

BEYIMEI M.2 NVME to 4 Ports PCI-E 1X USB 3.0 Riser Card, M.2 B-Key PCI-E Interface for Bitcoin Miner Ethereum Mining
https://www.amazon.com/BEYIMEI-M-2-Interface-Bitcoin-Ethereum/dp/B09YHDPSC8/

https://aliexpress.ru/item/1005003911721041.html?
For $50 you can buy a motherboard for 8 video cards, a processor and a cooling system for the processor, and your device costs $30. Goods from China can take 45 days, but if you order in advance, then this is a good and proven motherboard.

If free electricity is available its better to go to unmineable dot com and start mining any coin you like for example Shiba inu, Dogelon mars, Chilliz and others, the mining website now have a PC software that makes the whole thing easier.
If electricity is free, then it is better to buy a cheap video card or a mining farm, and earn a steady income, rather than trying to guess 1 out of 1000 shitcoins, the price of which will rise. And you may not have time to sell the coin at the right time.
2713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please note that miner prices are about to rise on: July 01, 2022, 05:38:48 PM
Even now, there are very cheap prices for video cards on the market
Today's video card prices are still above MSRP for the most part, which isn't cheap. I regard 'cheap' as at least 10% below MSRP. Once the RTX 3060 dips < $300, that is cheap. But there has been no decline for most models over the past 15 days despite the huge crash in BTC price.

I think the 15%/month decline we've seen for the past 6 months will continue for at least 2 more months. It will probably stay static after that until PoS. So I won't build rigs now.
I do not think. that it will be beneficial to video card manufacturers and sellers. Perhaps there will be attractive promotions, but soon the PTX 4000 series will be sold and the last series will be discontinued. You can buy used 3000 series video cards if they are in good condition.
2714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Too late to start a mining rig? on: July 01, 2022, 05:10:42 PM
It's already too late unless you can get RTX 2080 Ti for 250$, if this doesn't happen it's better to stay away from mining and this is even after you've calculated your electricity expenses first, in some countries mining sucks right now.
RTX 2080 Ti are very hot graphics cards and are inferior in terms of profit to GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. Now it is better to buy video cards with lower power consumption and DDR6 memory, which does not heat up during mining, so as not to be spent on additional ventilation and more powerful power supplies.
I'd buy a RTX 2080ti over a RTX 3060 Ti I just like that graphic card, it's like an Asic miner made in heaven lol, imagine having 8 2080Ti in a rig, this will set me up for 2025, may we all live to see more than 2025, amen.
Are you cold?
I would not wish anyone to own such a rig because you will get tired of overheating problems. I understand that this is a joke, but beginners do not understand this, and then they lose profit because their farms do not work 24 hours a day.
2715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: newest risers on: July 01, 2022, 05:04:27 PM
this is the new stuff now...never tried it but the reviews says it is better than x1 and x16 risers, 3 feet length and thin wires, you can go creative on your setup with this.
I have these raisers and they are very good. Even the quality of the soldering in the photo of the field effect transistor will not affect its operation. I tried to buy with thick cables, but thin cables also work fine, although they look unreliable.

If you are mining FLUX, you must use a different GPU CORE and MEM setting as when you mining ETH.
For FLUX mining try GPU CORE +200 MHz and MEM +0 MHz
Info: https://www.hashrate.no/3070

Oh I didn't know that ! I thought Afterburner settings worked for every situation. Thanks, now with Power limit 70%, Core +200 and Memory 0, I can reach about 60 Sol/s with 153W and 65°C with 40% fan speed !  Grin
Thank you very much for your help.

I don't know where you reside but I guess you are in some cool place compared to most of Europe, here we are experiencing the hottest days of the year so far so running at 40% fan speed is not an option,I get like 69 degree C at 76% fan speed here with while 38 degree C outside,so I advise you to increase a bit the fan speed as you know the cooler a card run the longer its lifespan while even if you happen to damage the fans (rarely has happened to me) you can always replace them for a low cost compared to replacing the card.Just an advice from a fellow miner.
Haha yes it is pretty cold where I live. Although I'm not sure where to find fans in case my 3070's fans break down...
If you are too lazy to do such a cooling yourself, then buy a ready-made kit on aliexpress.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003600191997.html
On my GTX 1080 graphics cards, it has been doing an excellent job of cooling for several years. You only need to pick up the right fans, from 0.35 A.
Uhm okay, but I don't need this... Thank you nonetheless.
Any cooling system will break down in 2-3 years. Either you will change video cards before they break, or you will have to solve this problem. Many miners are afraid to use external fans, but they are cheaper and perform their tasks just as well Smiley
2718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I am new to mining and I need some guidance on: June 30, 2022, 03:51:07 PM
The 3070 Ti is a card with Gddr6x memory and if you cool it down properly you can get it to the average hash rate of 76-80 Mhsh
Because of thermal limitations, I can only get 105 Mh on my RTX 3080 Ti instead of the full 120 Mh. I decided to never buy GDDR6X video cards again, and mine EPIC+SERO instead of ETH.
Thermal limitation? 🤔 what if you go liquid cooling? I think 3080Ti can get more than 105MH with liquid cooling but I think it's not worth the extra spending for a few Hashrate, anyway, I have stop buying gddr6x graphic cards and 3080 will be my last.
It is very expensive. If you do it yourself, you will have to solve many problems. Alternatively, you can choose an RTX 3070 Ti ( 80 mh) graphics card with a good cooling system, but they need to be kept in an open case at a distance of at least 20 centimeters from each other.
2719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please note that miner prices are about to rise on: June 30, 2022, 03:47:49 PM
There is a difference between ASICs and GPUs. If Bitcoin or Litecoin took a huge crash you could probably score some cheap ASICs. With GPUs it’s different.

GPUs have many other uses other than mining. Kids with YouTube use it for rending, some use it for AI, many gamers out there. Hence why they hold their value better. Especially now with all the shortages going on.
It seems to me that the whole market of video cards depends on the price of bitcoin. If the price of bitcoin falls, then the price of all altcoins that can be mined on video cards will also fall. Even now, there are very cheap prices for video cards on the market, and Ethereum mining has not yet ended.
2720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which cryptocoin are you mining now? New BTC? Shitcoin? tell us on: June 30, 2022, 03:42:47 PM
What is the promising currency? In this low market, there are always some interesting coins for miners, being in some cases more profitable than the most popular ones.

But sometimes that coin that is starting may not be worth anything today, but it has an innovative project that in the future can help leverage its price in the market. Thus, those who once looked down on this coin may regret it for the rest of their lives. Will the humiliated be exalted?

Tell us.

How can I mine for shitcoin? Can I mine for Doge? or Which altcoins or shitcoins are mining available? Please help I would love to join the mining community but lack the knowledge  Huh
You can mine any coin and then sell it on a crypto exchange and buy shitcoins. Mining Doge requires an ASIC. Use this calculator to calculate the best profit for a graphics card.
https://whattomine.com/gpus
I made mistakes and lost profit with shitcoins, so I do not advise you to start mining for this purpose.
