What are the electricity rates in Portugal?

Depending on the type of contract, the values are around 0.16~0.19€/kWh.

These are not the highest prices in Europe that I have heard of. I have less than $0.05 due to the fact that the dollar has risen against the ruble again, but mining is unprofitable. If there is no cheap electricity in Europe, then many miners will sell their video cards.

I have already purchased RTX 4090, so I don't really expect surprises in 2023 for myself in terms of acquiring future Nvidia cards, if only to expect the release of RTX 4090Ti, it was interesting to see what they would do.
I hope you bought it for games and not for earning 40 cents a day.

Of course, mainly for games in 4k resolution, but sometimes I just test rtx4090 in different coins, but mostly it works on ssc mining since you can get about $0.9 a day there since the number of miners is not large.
With such a profit, unfortunately, mining is not profitable on this video card.

Countries restrict miners from using electricity to mine bitcoin, but there are no such restrictions for data centers. If mining is going to bring in a good income, then data centers have good advantages for mining with lucrative contracts for the supply of electricity.

That is a good option but the data centers are geared toward mining farms, big ones and big ones can agree for such contracts, for home miners who may have thought remotely to try and rent such a service from the cloud providers is not an option from quite some time now from other providers and lately from Microsoft. Most likely even others like Line and Digital Ocean which come right after the big three ones will do such thing as for the moment I don't know that Digital Ocean is restricting such services so those who want to try can try from other providers but is not lucrative at all for small users.
I was interested in IT people who rent space for their servers in data centers. For ordinary users, standards for equipment have been established, this is only server equipment for installation in special PC racks. Buying such equipment for mining is not always profitable. And very old equipment may not be accepted.

While mining is not profitable, miners crack forgotten passwords to cryptocurrency wallets Smiley I think it is better to look for this information on the technical support forums or social networks BTCRecover. But 2 video cards are not enough to enumerate passwords.

Hackers have been able to steal NFTs like magic with a little-known OpenSea feature. It's the newest hack, and multiple millions in Apes have been lost to it already.
https://twitter.com/harpieio/status/1606034727491624961?

The OpenSea contract allows for "gasless sales," where users can sell NFTs by signing an unreadable message like the one above.
Here's the catch: you can also set up ⚠️private auctions with custom prices⚠️ with these unreadable signatures.

The developer claims that this makes BNB Chain “the largest layer 1 blockchain in the world.” However, blockchain data shows that the Bitcoin network is still larger than both BNB Chain and Ethereum.

According to Etherscan, Ethereum currently has over 217 million unique addresses. By contrast, BNB Chain has over 233 million unique addresses, according to BscScan. This implies that BNB Chain is larger than Ethereum as judged by this metric.

1887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Microsoft bans crypto mining from its online services on: December 28, 2022, 11:15:35 AM
UPDATED Microsoft has quietly banned cryptocurrency mining from its online services, and says it did so to protect all customers of its clouds.

The Windows and Azure titan slipped the prohibition into an update of its Universal License Terms for Online Services that came into effect on December 1. That document covers any "Microsoft-hosted service to which Customer subscribes under a Microsoft volume licensing agreement," and on The Register's reading, mostly concerns itself with Azure.

I found the hashrate of Radeon RX 7900 XT. So far this is a very weak result.
Ethash 83.00 Mh/s @ 280W
Ethash4G 83.00 Mh/s @ 280W
kHeavyHash 900.00 Mh/s @ 280W

This is a very large power consumption and additional cooling will be required.

1891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: K1 Pool not finding an ETF on: December 28, 2022, 10:44:52 AM
My point is that a pool with a small hashrate can stop being profitable at any time, because a couple of large miners will leave. This needs to be monitored. There are no such problems with a large pool, the profit is the same. As a result, you spend less time.

Yeah I started to notice that in ETF single mining,we were like 50 miners or more and now we are 25-27 but the good thing is that the ETF+ZIL is full of miners right now, more than 700 miners which for a pool with such a low hash rate is a good ratio I think.I am monitoring it daily and I saw that as you said there are a lot of much better pools,if I see a drastic drop in profit I will change this pool to another one like Ezil for example which I have mined before, but for the moment everything is going smoothly so I am just checking everyday what happens and see what to do.
Now the profit is so low that I'm too lazy to monitor the dashboard every day. Shitcoins are already very cheap, even though their mining is more expensive on many video cards. Maybe take a risk and invest for a few years?
1892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone mining on RTX4090 already on: December 28, 2022, 10:36:26 AM

Do you check the total consumption of the computer from the wall? I think my mining farm of 5 Rx 5600 consumes less electricity.
You are doing very well, because you have one video card. When you build a mining farm of 5 such video cards, you will understand what mining on hot video cards is.

I unfortunately had to take a break from mining, as the rising cost of energy in Portugal is high and does not make up for mining.
What are the electricity rates in Portugal?

So far I have decided to sell some of the old video cards, but have not yet decided what to buy from the new models. Mining on video cards now brings more problems than profits.

You will be surprised if i will tell you even rx470 4gb plays games well enough.nvidia is smart made high price so discount will look very attractive later
Well enough - is very relative. If you're not a graphics fanatic, then a $60 graphics card would be a good buy. But I would buy 1070 or 1080 which have better performance in modern games but cost a little more.
Yes agree that 1070 have better performance but price for rx470 makes best price/performance.
I think it depends on the games. rx470 4gb with non-working fans are already on sale for 35-45 dollars. It's very cheap.
For 35-45 i will buy 8 or 16 of them. Where is it?
In Russia, these video cards cost 4,500 rubles, which is about $63. You can buy wholesale from miners or in China for $45, but the condition will be very bad after 5 years of mining. There are also mining edition video cards with 1 video output, they are even cheaper. Search in your country or China on aliexpress and similar marketplaces.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti tested in OctaneBench
A single test result of GeForce RTX 4070 Ti for render benchmark was added to the official ranking.
According to the data collected by the software, the card scores 725 points in OctaneBench 2020.1, this is 5% faster than RTX 3090 Ti, the flagship desktop GPU based on Ampere architecture.

1898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon RX Vega 64 video card problem: I can't get it recognized by the system on: December 25, 2022, 08:45:53 AM
I called rx vega 56 and 64 pain in the ass graphic cards  Grin, I used to own a complete 6 rigs with 56 and 64 RX vega and I saw hell managing them, they frequently give me problem, one minute it's all detected and later two gpu will be missing in Hive OS.

Connect the GPU directly to x16 slot without the riser, let's see what happens doing this first.
Video cards 56 and 64 RX vega have difficulties with overclocking settings and usually the vega 56 video card was flashed with bios from vega 64 to get a larger hashrate, but there were no big problems with these video cards. You won't get that experience with Nvidia Smiley
1899  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Buy new mining equipment, don't be penny wise pound foolish! on: December 24, 2022, 01:36:15 PM
I have heard the argument many times that some fairly use equipment are better options for purchase when compared to brand new. I can't understand how this can be argued when clearly the only reason to go for fairly used equipment should be insufficient money to afford a new one. My advice for anyone who wants to buy equipment to start mining is that if you can afford to get the new one, go for it and play the long game instead of trying to save some little money on fairly used that are more prone to developing a fault. Buy new equipment if possible.
I have nit such experience but I will say that buying old nit much older mining rigs my mean buy Mining rigs that are 1 to 2 years old than they will give much more profit cause they will go more to your ROI. Cause if you buy new mining rig that costs 5000 dollars than instead buy 3000 dollars mining rig that will be a good investment for you cause you will get your Money more quick.
By they way there is a saying that "Old is Gold"
So that's depends on you and it takes a lot of patience and also man stucks just want to do.
I sometimes check the markets for mining equipment, but I don't often see equipment that are 1 to 2 years old. As a rule, older equipment is tried, this is 3-5 years old, because miners buy more modern equipment. But if you are not an engineer or you don't have partners with good engineering skills to test and maintain the equipment, then you will gain experience, not profit.
1900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are your plans for the coming year? on: December 24, 2022, 01:28:16 PM
I still mine Ethereum Pow using a few gtx 1660 super and Ti, what choices do I have? Since I am no more running on Grid power it makes no sense to turn off the rigs when the sunlight is up, it's a total waste.  Once the sun goes down I always turn the rigs off.
Show an important hourly schedule for the generation of electricity by solar panels. This is not a constant value. There is much less electricity generated at 7:00 am than at 1:00 pm. How many hours a day do your mining farms work and where does the extra electricity come from in cloudy weather?
By 8 am in the morning I already have 1200 watts available and by 1pm I am always at 5600watt in a not too sunny days , my setup is 6000 watt combined and my graphic cards don't consume much energy, I have been running the rigs since 2022 January, I don't bother you mine at night I use the backup for other thing, not worth running on battery since it's not even profitable.
How do you mining? Do you turn on the mining farm at 1200 watts at 8 o'clock in the morning, and turn on additional equipment as the power increases?
I understand that batteries and the installation to charge them are very expensive and I don't think the investment will pay off.
