2701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] Monero - Marketing Team & Tactics on: December 15, 2015, 06:46:00 AM
I have a question for smoothie too..
What happened with David Latapie ?
He gave the biggest apology i ever seen in my life on the internet.. for what ?
he never said..
And you want us all to believe you have no idea ?

EDIT:
This is pretty much on topic too.. Latapie said his last actions were starting a Monero Marketing Company
Then he went into hiding etc.. (see other topic for more details)

EDIT2:
Re: [XMR] Monero - Marketing Team & Tactics
Latapie's MONERO Marketing company partner was arrested by the French Police for some type of fraud.

The only response we got from all those guys was them leaving me a negative rating and trolling my news topic.
And was there like 5 or so guys involved too !

i think Monero investors have a right to know what happened !
..and why they were apologized to so intensely.

I thought he apologized for being duped by a conman. Most people feel shame when that sort of thing happens, but why am I explaining this to someone who feels no shame? Monerians, I apologize for taking so much time trying to explain the obvious to spoetnik--I was duped into thinking he cares about being correct.

do you take anything out of Spoetnik mouth serious?

please ignore my username or sig while answering. i am really interested in valid feedback...

I imagine him driving an old pick-up with a "Kill all shitcoins and let Satoshi sort them out!" bumper sticker.
2703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACTS] Context - An Outsiders View on: December 14, 2015, 04:46:34 PM

They bob & weave and push scams.. they my keep changing their promises of the future.
But, one thing that does not change is the inevitable outcome.
Ponzi token #7,002 and a hyped up pumped & dumped left for dead shit coin / token.
Nothing ever changes !

So go ahead boys & girls feel free to tell everyone around the world why "THIS TIME" it's different.

Does your inevitable dying prevent you from accomplishing anything? Just as every fiat currency dies, so will every cryptocurrency. The question is "does the coin do what it says it can do?" Just pointing at them all and saying "scam" is the equivalent of me pointing to every person i see and saying "pointless."

We judge things on what they set out to do, not on the eventuality of their demise. So if a coin sets out to fill a niche and does it, I would have a hard time calling it a scam. While a coin that simply claims to fill a niche without actually filling it is what most would call a scam.

Any problems with that definition of a scam versus a legitimate project?

Entry from Crichton's Journal 1618 (ART-24: )

I was traveling through the lands of Reddit when I stumbled on this scamp in one of the local shops.

The shop owner told me the cat was a painting of a local breed known as Moon Shots (as you are better off trying to shoot the moon than catch one without its consent). I quickly bought it and dubbed him Luke The Moon Shot after a hero from one of my favorite childhood stories.

2705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DASH] What happened to Masternode Blinding? on: December 13, 2015, 02:18:40 PM
I'm not even convincing myself any more.

Yeah, coming up with a better idea is always a bad thing.

There's no peer review to flesh out whether it is a good, bad, or similar idea. Now, taking the word of a man who claims that a flawed launch was due to incompetence rather than outright deception is a bad thing (at least from an investment standpoint).
2706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: December 13, 2015, 12:19:05 PM
Reminder: If you placed buy orders on S-SQC as auction bids, please remove them.

Until bidders have had a chance to do this, please do not trade.

I'm trying to see if an admin can cancel all the orders on that item, but I haven't found one online yet. Apparently not possible.

You can by selling into the bids and taking advantage that bids don't get reinstated when you cancel the transaction--just a pain with so many bids unless you have a bunch of shares. Though I doubt anyone would sell into those bids anyway as there wouldn't be much profit to be made versus future dividends.
2707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If DASH is so confident why are they trying so hard to beat Monero? on: December 12, 2015, 05:18:01 PM
at least i'm bringing facts to the table and have my numbers right  :

Quote
There’s been talk from the very beginning of Dash about the very first 24 hours, 1.9 million coins were issued.

and of course it would be pretty dumb to think Evan was the only miner back then.....

i am very sure he was the biggest and earliest.
did you forgot that he lied about the exact start date?
the wallet download sucked; he had to supply it multiple times
and so on...

i was there... and i have given up after a while because the launch was very chaotic. my opinion about eduffields capabilites as a dev hasnt much changed since (i wrote a few posts about that in the ANN thread: BEFORE monero even existed)

sure the launch was chaotic, code was messed up, things didn't go as planned... all true. But ever since that launch that dev has commited himself fulltime on this Dash project,
even stopped with his paid day job. And he and his dev-team have delivered .. and boy have they delivered :

X11
Darksend
Dark Gravity Wave
InstantX
Decentralised voting
Decentralised budget
Building-up the second most powerfull network (some 5400 nodes of which 3400 full nodes .. the so called masternodes)

X11 is insecure as the more chains you have, the more likely that an exploit can be found in one of those chains (and no, you can't just roll back and eliminate the exploited chain as the exploit may go unnoticed for some time and be un-rewindable).

Darksend isn't as secure as protocol level privacy and apparently takes 20+ hours for a mix-in of 4.

Decentralized voting and budget are a sham considering the votes are most likely concentrated in the hands of the instaminers, which would almost ensure that they would vote in order to further benefit themselves no matter if the result had a negative effect on those who hold smaller amounts.

If that's innovation, then cryptocurrency will never look more appealing than the current monetary system and all bets are off for a major cryptocurrency disruption. Thankfully, it's only Evan using the hype of exaggerated promises (with a conspicuous lack of peer review) to give the impression of technical innovation.

2709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If DASH is so confident why are they trying so hard to beat Monero? on: December 12, 2015, 03:24:08 PM
DASH isn't trying to "beat" Monero, I mean look at the market cap. The market has already decided that DASH has "beat" Monero at this point and I really don't see that changing anytime soon.

What is going on is that DASH users fall for the basic Monero marketing tactics, many of which include posting constantly in the DASH thread. There are almost no DASH users trolling on the Monero thread because, why would they?

DASH users need to stop falling for the Monero marketing tricks and constant annoyances that they perpetually spew on to the DASH thread.

The only people who have anything to gain in a fight between DASH and Monero is Monero. Just like any small company directly attacking its market leading competitor.

That's basically it. Everything else is just excuses and noise.

Not really. From a technical standpoint, Monero offers superior anonymity (protocol level, apparently magnitudes faster, proven cryptography backed by leading Bitcoin Developers), a better algorithm not fraught with the dangers of using multiple chains, and a provable fairer distribution due to a fair launch. Also, evolution's 12-18 month time frame, coupled with no peer review, hardly distills confidence. The market cap lead is minuscule, when for a coin to be successful, we are talking many billions more than even the current BTC market cap--plus I would take into account the distortion effect of masternodes hoarding coins off market. I'm probably missing a few things, but Monerians want to make these technical comparisons because that is their strength and dash's weakness.

Having a higher market cap when you instamine 30% of the coins and keep them locked in a HYIP POS scheme like DASH dev eduffield has done is trivial

Anyone can start their own shitcoin, issue 15 million coins and sell 1 to your friend for a dollar. There you go you just made a coin with the same $15,000,000 marketcap as Dash.

You're just a Dash bagholder who believes in instamined coins with a tampered emission, lying snake-oil developers who announce features like masternode blinding which never get implented, unuseable anon that takes 24-72 hours to send a simple anon tx and of course, the most toxic community in crypto BY FAR with examples such as MasterMined710 and volvoya.

Macrochip has no choice but to cheer for Dash, he's down over $100,000 USD in his Dash holdings... use a 20% stop loss next time Macrochip.. or better yet don't invest in scam coins like "daesh" in the first place

Dash Sad

Proof of bolded claim?

Bitterness.

I find this thread funny. A Monero troll circle-jerk. No one cares except you sideshow clowns! You are just annoying everybody else with your spam agenda.

Did that take you twenty hours to come up with?
2712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unveiling the truth over the major Monero scam on: December 11, 2015, 04:37:49 PM
Also it seems that "smooth" (according to my researches) is the most prolific forum poster ever! How in the hell does he have time to be the (so-called) lead dev?? I'll tell you why...because there is nobody involved with Monero who is capable of developing Monero. This is the conclusion I have reached (according to my researches).

When a coin developer waists all his time in spamming his competitors this coin will never be respected. Non-stop falling of XMR against BTC and USD shows pretty good where XMR goes.

This poll demonstrates very well the reputation of smooth:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1151565.0

Obviously a lot of your post is opinion, to which you are entitled. But not the part about "non-stop falling" against USD. That is wrong. The current 44c price is in line with where it has been quite often over the past year or longer, and it has certainly been lower (as low as half that, if not lower).

Also, to correct volyova, I'm not a "the lead dev", we have no such title.

EDIT: For example, troll thread from last year: Monero under 25 cents? What the hell are you waiting for? For the math challenged that is a 76% increase.
LOLZ, so you are reduced to "splitting hairs" now? lmao

I guess being corrected is splitting hairs when you're the the one being corrected for being factually challenged.
2713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACTS] Context - An Outsiders View on: December 11, 2015, 04:07:19 PM
when opinions get too big for their boots, people pretend they're facts.

You speak in riddles.. bad riddles.

Let's break down the mensa genius logic here..
I have a strong opinion there for i am wrong on all accounts.. case closed ?

Guess what ? This is a FORUM ..it's what they are for.. POSTING YOUR OPINIONS.

Further more you could have addressed any single point i made but instead
you chose to try and have a jab at me to put me down personally.
I wouldn't be surprised generalizethis quickly ran and made a new account after i handed his ass to him again.

There is no replies here because you are all pussies & know i am right !
Deal with it.. I am ALWAYS right.. i AM Spoetnik !
My next tattoo will be across my chest saying, "I Told You So !"

I certainly did not make an account to avoid you (I have a job and can only babysit you in a free moment). Most people aren't replying because there is no point--you'll just declare yourself victor or change the subject or offer no evidence to support your position or cry about how everyone is unfairly labeling you. You're a drama queen with no forum standing who pretends to be looking out for noobs, but then brags about bullying them. Keep on winning in your head, maybe someday it will be reality.

I see people bickering what is better Monero or Dash etc.

Reality Check.. it doesn't matter.

Your opinions here are worthless guys.
The only people that matter are not here.

What would happen if they come here ?
They would see a loooong trail of abandoned coins..

Dark Coin --> Dash
ByteCoin --> Monero

..and on and on and on and on

You guys seem to think Context is irreverent and your spouting off on a niche nerd forum matters.
This never ending battle for attention here is pointless.
Unless the general public is coming to read about all these Bash vs. Trollero battles.

Nobody gives a fuck guys ROFL

If you can't step back and see your doing this shit in vain i feel sorry for you..
or your just doing this shit because your a greedy maggot just looking to suck money out of the Altcoin scene.

This sub-forum is just a giant exercise in futility.. and your bickering is all in vain kids.
*IF* any people from the general public come here and rad all this.. the very first thing they will see is..
THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS OF SHIT COINS
AND.. a scene made up of nothing at all but greedy little brats that trend hop from 1 shit coin to the next.. to make $$$

Even of you all stopped Shitcoin'ing it want matter the track record and history has been set in stone.

Crypto is dead.. because everyone left long ago.
The guys that left were capable of seeing the bigger picture and cashed out and ran for it.
Those of you still here heavily involved in trading are desperate an suffer from Tunnel Vision.

Sorry but a Nascar paint Job fro Doge coin that cost $45,000 is not going to cut it anymore.
Neither is giving $10,000 to an Olympic Jamaican Bobsled Team that finished last (and forgot to mention Doge)
Nope.. AUR air dropping coins to Eskimo's in Iceland is not gonna cut it.

They already came and they left long ago.. this shit coin scene is about as dead as it's going to get guys.
But it is amusing watching the same dozen guys hop around shitcoin to shitcoin arguing with each other.
Which NON-Used currency Ponzi / Pyramid scheme TOKEN
It makes me laugh watching the same fucking idiots argue RIGHT NOW
about which coin MIGHT get used one day as a REAL CURRENCY vs (a handful of shill baited on exchanges by pump groups)

LIEK Om G Fcuking GOdz MOnero was gonna be used By teh world sONE day !!!!111ONE
AN dwhen Idt happenz i will bez riuchers and have much lambos !!!111

...but wait !

I have DAhser coin and it better iwhen Peopel roundz da GLOBE use TEh coisn for TRANAXACTIOSNSS !!!!!

Reality check Kidiots™ ..NOBODY is going to use your fucking shit coin as a CURRENCY EVER !
So that means eventually this will continue to shrink and die and exchanges will close..
And your dump gay coins will die more and more.. while you all keep bickering things are great
and ONE DAY.. people will come and buy my shit coin gab i am clutching !

The toilet was flushed long ago baggies..

If crypto is dead, why are you here? You don't see anyone outside the Lincoln memorial holding a "Abe is dead" sign.

Also, dark is dash and monero is a fork of bytecoin, so your illustrative point is off. I know you aren't good with details, but you can at least try.
2715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] Monero - Marketing Team & Tactics on: December 11, 2015, 06:31:27 AM
I remember trading monero way back in the day.. Whats going in with monero now a days? Smiley
nothing since then. still waiting on an official GUI wallet.  Grin

Bet it gets here before (12-18 months) evolution vaporware. I would say before dash takes to mix a darksend transaction--but it may take a little bit more than 20 hours since it's an enterprise-level interface and not a single transaction.
nah son it took me a couple of hours to mix ~76% of my dash like a week ago.  you don't have to mix it all at once to be able to darksend it anonymously. once it's mixed you don't have to mix it every time like with monero Sad.
so right now today i can send it anonymously and instantly (instantX) and without waiting 10-60 min for confirmations like with btc and others.

problem is the people/trolls who complain don't know how it works... Has it sent yet
 Roll Eyes

hopefully y'all aren't really that stupid and this is just part of your monero trolling tactics. so which is it, are y'all stupid or is this just a tactic of the monero trolling community? either way it's a total fail.

also, you don't want to bloat up the blockchain like monero and have all of your transaction (McDonald's, gas etc) invisible and unverifiable. being unverifiable would be a little less worrying if monero had a trusted official gui wallet to rely on instead of having to trust a 3rd party wallet or a centralized online wallet.
but yes mixing could be faster and will be with evolution. using the instantX tech it will be instantly anonymous and scale-able to 500-1500tps.

The truth will set you free (of the cult that is dash).

Stop rationalizing good tech bad and bad tech good, you chimerical dashtard.

This is a bit ridiculous. I don't like the reptilian (rpietilian), and I wouldn't want to break bread with the icebreaker either, but cmon, Monero is one of, if not the most, solid altcoins out there.

Here is a post by Greg Maxwell saying Monero is the only altcoin he owns:
https://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoinxt/comments/3vmwtb/what_if_any_incentives_are_there_for_longterm/cxoyxsu
Why? Because, "What monero I own is because it has integrated stealth address like behavior that make it possible for me to have a public donation address without losing privacy..."

Here is a link to a commit on the Monero github repo by Bitcoin Core lead maintainer Wladimir Van Der Laan:
https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero/commits?author=laanwj

Here is a tweet from Peter Todd saying Monero is "genuine crypto":
https://twitter.com/petertoddbtc/status/622022840330682368

So are you saying that Greg Maxwell, Wladimir Van Der Laan, and Peter Todd, all Bitcoin Core developers, are all shills pushing a scam? A bunch of Bitcoin Core developers who apparently hold (to them) trivial amounts of Monero are "shilling" for Monero? Really? Can you name a single other altcoin that more than one Bitcoin Core developer has expressed support for?

I'm going to re-post this every time Spoetnik has a vapor-criticism.

2720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DASH] What happened to Masternode Blinding? on: December 07, 2015, 05:26:04 PM
Are DASH users stuck with 20+ hours of mixing time to send a simple anon tx for the next 12-18 months?

You can have standard coins and anonymous coins in your DASH wallet. You can mix standard coins and they will become anonymous coins. This process currently takes time. When you have anonymous coins in your wallet you have mixed a month ago for example, you can spend them immediately, there's no waiting as they have already been mixed.

I see. So if I want to send an anon transaction of 100 DASH, I'll buy the coins on the exchange and send it to my DASH wallet.  Then I'll need to wait 20+ hours before I can send 100 DASH as an anon tx. How is that "Lighting fast" ? Have you ever seen a bolt of lightning in the sky for 20+ hours? Because I haven't  Roll Eyes

I'm sorry you didn't like Dash's answer to anonymity.

With Dash if you don't have any anonymous coins mixed already and your use case is to keep buying them on an exchange so you can send them immediately, that opens you to all kinds of timing attack vulnerabilities. Perhaps rethinking using Dash would be would be advisable.
