2701  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you thing about BITCOIN? on: April 19, 2016, 03:21:52 PM
I think bitcoin will be going up and raise its price and will be good for the users who were first and have joined before the halving.

2702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most Exciting Bitcoin Projects! on: April 19, 2016, 03:19:49 PM
It is very exciting to see so many "killer app" projects upcoming in the near future. They will definitely add great value to bitcoin, and I think the price has to reflect that, so I think the price will go up after these things come out. I rank them by my estimation of their order of importance, and how I believe each one will add value to bitcoin.

1⟫ Segregated Witness and LightningNetwork - Larger block space, which will increase the capacity of bitcoin transaction, making room for more people. And empty rooms always tend to fill up, so I expect many new users from this idea. It also fixes malleability issues, and makes 0 confirm double spend harder so we can now build instant transaction systems with greater confidence and less risk of double spend with lightning network technology. Huge project, definitely nr.1.

2⟫ Block reward halving - Decreases yearly inflation from ~8% to ~3.6%, definitely a huge added value to bitcoin, and has the possibility to increase it's price. It will also make bitcoin less fiat-like, and probably larger investors will see bitcoin as more stable and established project. I also think that it will decrease price volatility, making bitcoin more stable in the long term. Huge positive and direct impact for bitcoin.

3⟫ Zerocoin - Fixes bitcoin's privacy problems, which directly drags down bitcoin's fungibility. This technology will ensure that all coins will be equally equal, no matter what source they come from. A huge step forward for bitcoin financial privacy.

4⟫ OpenBazaar - Decentralized P2P marketplace, a great invention that never existed before, and has the power to reshape global trading. It could work with any currency, so all currencies could gain value, but I think it will bring more value to cryptocurrencies, in majority for bitcoin. Frictionless global trading will also help many poor countries, that may already be looking after bitcoin, but need a "killer app" to start using it frequently. A huge project that will give indirect support to cryptocurrencies.

5⟫ Ethereum - Decentralized software system and cryptocurrency. I dont view Ethereum as a competitor to bitcoin, but as a complementary system. With Ethereum we can have all sorts of decentralized trustless systems, for example decentralized exchanges that are eagerly awaited, since so many existing centralized bitcoin exchanges are scams. Ethereum will help itself grow, and with it, all other cryptocurrencies, that can benefit from this technology. A huge indirect support for bitcoin.

6⟫ Joystream - Decentralized filesharing system. It is really helpful for small producers: singers, musicians, DJ's, and other artists. They can just host their art and get a huge audience, while bitcoiners could get a new money earning platform. The hoster and the seeders share the revenue, while the downloaders pay for it. Therefore many newbies will have an opportunity to earn bitcoin, thus increasing the demand and utility for bitcoin. It's a big direct support for bitcoin.

7⟫ Brave Browser - They will be the first browser to integrate bitcoin in their software, allowing people to spend and earn bitcoins directly. They have also designed their browser to be privacy friendly so its a good combination for bitcoin users. Although Chrome and Firefox own the market, they could gain a reasonable market share, and also force Chrome and Firefox to integrate bitcoin as well to stay competitive. In any case it will be big, however it will take a longer time than the other events, so i put this on the 7th spot.

8⟫ BitcoinJ Payment Channels - Payment channels to send and receive microtransactions, good for faucets, tipping or any other smaller transactions, without miner fees. It's not that popular and established yet, but in the future it could be a technology that can make smaller transactions less costly.

Let me know if I missed something, in my opinion these are the most exciting events or projects we can look forward to in the near future!

its complete project for bitcoin as i know, you not missing anything, and the most exciting bitcoin projects for me is bitcoin halving and openbazaar,i thin everybody sgree with that, its so good and can't wait for that two, openbazaar has been launch.its nice.

2707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what happens to Bitcoin if internet goes down? on: April 19, 2016, 02:06:18 PM
If the internet would go down it would be a disaster for everyone and not only for Bitcoin. I would not even care about Bitcoin if the internet is going down but more about other stuff on the internet.

Yeah mate if the Internet goes down for real chances are we would be having very serious problems in the real world and no one would care much about Bitcoin because we may have things like a war or a global catastrophe or an alien invasion for example looming over us  Cheesy
agree with you dude,if internet goes down,so many people or maybe all people in this world will got problem, nowdays internet was become a very important connection, even bitcoin exist when internet goes down, its will not give us any benefit like when internet  being normal.

2710  Other / Off-topic / Re: When is it useful to borrow bitcoin? on: April 18, 2016, 04:34:15 PM
When is it useful to borrow bitcoin? Considering that it is really hard to get a loan here on this forum even with escrow, and the plentiful amount of scammers floating around here, is there really a great reason to even bother getting a loan here? I mean unless you're flat broke I could understand but even still it's an uphill battle. It's way easier to take out a cash advance in an emergency. I suppose if you're dealing with a trusted borrower and trustworthy escrow you may have a chance in obtaining your funds. Other than that, it can be difficult for a scam-less transaction to take place.
Borrow anything is always good,so with borrow bitcoin, the best time to loan bitcoin is when you sure bitcoin price will raise,so you can get profit when you sell bitcoins from that loan.
2711  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can i buy BTC using an internationl credit card? on: April 18, 2016, 04:32:55 PM
Using an international credit card (one that is issued in a country but is accepted in lots of countries), is there somewhere i can buy BTC?

edit: i mean without a middleman, no Paypal etc, i pay with the CC and the person or entity sends me the equivalent in BTC to the address i provide.
i'm not suggest you to buy bitcoin with credit card, its too risky for you,i mean if you buy with credit card, maybe your bank will ask you what you buy,its will be a problem when bank knowing that you use it for buy bitcoin,

2717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be profitable in the long run! It is possible! on: April 18, 2016, 03:33:33 PM
This is a response to the threads:
Topic: Everyone looses in the long run  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1199744.0
Topic: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1186546.0

Yes gambling can be profitable in the long run. It is a mathematical possibility. I`m not a gambling shill, but i`m very frustrated when people put out misleading information. The truth is important.

So here are a few outcomes:
1.  Gambling can be profitable in the long term for the gambler
2.  Gambling cannot be profitable in the long term for the gambler
3.  Gambling can be profitable in the long term for the house
4.  The house can go bankrupt

All of these 4 scenarios could happen, under different circumstances. They are not impossible. It all depends on luck.

Take the following scenario for long term profitability for the gambler:

1000 gamblers gamble 100$ every day on slotmachine. The house edge is 1%. The total money wagered is 100,000$ every day.

The house makes on average: 1000$/day
So the rest of the 99,000$ is changing hands between gamblers.

So the following scenario could happen: 400 gamblers win consistently for 1 year for example, and 600 gamblers lose consistently for 1 year.

Now the 400 gamblers wager 40,000$ and the 600 gamblers wager 60,000$. The total profit of the 400 gamblers thus is 59,000$ since 1000$ goes to the house.

Thus divide that by 400, each gambler wagers 100$, and wins 147.5$ every single day for 1 year.

Or it could be that 200 of that 400 wins only 73.5$/day consistently, and the other 200 wins 295$ /day consistently.

Or many other, infinitely many other variations of this scenario.

Look it's all possible, only luck will tell, so don't tell me that winning consistently on the long term is impossible.

In infinity all gamblers would lose, and only the house would win (if it doesnt get wiped out by some big jackpots in a row), no doubt about that, but how much does the average gambler play 5-10 years? In that time range this scenario that I described is totally possible.

In the example above, your probability of winning long term is:  (40% * the probability of the probability distribution happening that is required to have the 1 year consistency).

This is not necessarly accurate representation, but it's an illustration how a negative expectancy game's probability distribution looks like.
Gamblers winning is a tail event with low probability, nontheless it's mathematically possible to happen:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probability_distribution#Continuous_probability_distribution
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_distribution

You just need to calculate that area and you got the probability of your scenario set to happen:

You can calculate that area:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z-test

Now this doesn't mean that you, the gambler will win, you can end up in the 600 gambler group and always lose. However if you luck is good, then you can win consistently.

Basically it all comes down to luck, lucky is the only variable that determines weather you are a loser or a winner, nothing else matters really, only luck.

Luck is the only thing that matters in gambling

So I wish you all good luck gamblers!

some people menitoning about how can gambling can be profitable in the long run,and you answer with good calculations. but i dont think its will work good for me,i know what and where my luck Sad
