I upgraded windows 10 pro to windows enterprise  which may be needed to do 5 or more gpus.
Why do you think, that windows enteprise may be needed? I never heard it.

I heard this from a few others in the pandaminer posts  it may be needed for 7 more more not 5 or more.

If I had FPGA miner that worked I would tell no one .. I would just mine with it.

So why did they claim to have one?

@Kano:
I am now as confused as can be about probability statistics. I'm no expert, by any stretch of the imagination, but I clearly remember from Statistics 1 class (over 40 years ago!), that the probability of flipping a coin and getting 2 heads in a row = probability of flipping a head x probability of flipping a head. That is, .5 x .5 = .25
However, once I have flipped a head, then probability of flipping another head (for two in a row) is simply .25 (the coin has no memory of what happened before). So I guess what you are saying regarding finding 2 blocks in a row is that we assume we can find a block (flip a head), and once we do, then the probability of finding the next block is simply our given probability (based on our percent of total network hash) that we can find a block.
Then would it not hold true that once we find 2 blocks in a row, that the probability of finding the third block is also our given probability of finding a block? This is where my brain gets tied in a knot.

Anyway, as Carl says, After 20+ hours of not finding any blocks, I'd be happy with find that 1st block!  Smiley
Mine on!
3 blocks (for a 1% pool, any time in the future) is as Phil said

1/100 x 1/100
= 1/10000

= 1 x 1/100 x 1/100
Yep, I get it now. Three heads in row any time in future, once I have flipped that first head, (which is the ONLY flip that I am assigning probability of 1)
1 x .25 x .25

Ok, I need a drink now  Grin

Stats are fun are they not?

...Edit: to avoid littering the thread with garbage again...
Do you ever actually read the words you're disagreeing with, or do you just always assume that every comment is contrary to your basal beliefs?  Huh

I said this in my first post about it, that anyone can still see:
Quote
In the first case, there's no requirements on finding the first block ... it's just some time in the future.

I then pointed that out to you in your second reply telling me I'm wrong.

Then again you posted telling me how that isn't correct ... and 2 more stupid posts about it after that.

So I deleted it all - it was a waste of, what ended up being, 6 posts, and again pointless like before.

I don't care if you want to twist your words around so that you can pretend you didn't get it wrong.
It's yet again been a waste of my time for a while today ...

This is why computer genie is brilliant  and  one of the most skilled trolls I have ever seen.  I find I am being discouraged  to post correct info on block odds by his clever postings. Kano did you ever watch Peter Falk in Columbo?  Computer genie is a true master of Detective Columbo's playing dumb method.  He got you going correct?

MEANWHILE  back to the thread  more blocks please.

I am running a i5 7500  in a z270

I upgraded windows 10 pro to windows enterprise  which may be needed to do 5 or more gpus.

At the moment I am only running 2 gpus in the build.

I did a review on newegg  on the build and over the next week to 2 weeks  I will get this build up to  5 cards if possible.

As most people know my attitude towards riser have been I don't need those stinking risers.

Mostly due to melt.

I do have a photo of a melted hdd plug that went to a riser with four pins.

I will post it later.

These risers seem to be safer due to six pin power feed.
27147  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can ASICS kills power supplies? on: January 08, 2017, 01:48:50 PM
I have used soooo many psu's I lost track.

if the gear is pure asic  and needs 12.0 to 12.4 volts server psus are better.

the best server psu with 1 fan mod  is the ibm 2980  not the ibm 2880  it gets true  platinum 93%  as long as you stay under  2600 watts and can do 2900 watts

Right now as I type  I have one running 2 avalon 7's

the next best  server psu is the dps 2500

it will give true gold  91% at 2000 watts and can do 2300 watts

of course  both are a shit ton of watts.

I have used 50 different ATX psus
and some can not do 75% of rating 24/7/365  some can

Since I have 13 pc's mining alt coins with gpus  all use plat or titaniam atx at about 60%

Rosewill quark plats  are good for 60%  24/7/365-------- great sales  right now a 550 watt for 69.99

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA07234S8693

modular  and will mine 2 rx 480 gpus

evga p2's are good
evga t2's are better   but cost a lot
evga g2's are good

seasonic prime titanium are good but cost a lot
I melted seasonic plat
I melted seasonic gold

corsair plat AX Series AX760 good

all silverstone   titanium are mediocre they  dont quite get the titanium rating  unless you are 50%

that is the 600 700 and 800 models

At the moment when I get an atx I look for a good deal on evga p2 and or rosewill quark

When I go for servers  I like dps2500 and ibm 2980

I buy Finksy/j4bberwock  or optimizer breakouts
27148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Review of Panda Miner coming up. on: January 08, 2017, 12:48:44 PM
This is not a political thread.

So please don't make it that.

This is a good piece of gear.  It is ½ the size of a normal  gpu miner.

and for some people  changing from Chinese to their language will not be easy.

The lack of a "real legit"  windows enterprise LTSB key  is Microsofts choice .

Simply because of the way they structure  enterprise keys.

I do believe I can up grade from  enterprise LTSB to enterprise  and purchase a legit enterprise key.

I do not have a problem with that.

The gear has mined ZEC very well for me.

I would like to have this with three msata ssds.
 1)oem
 2) oem cloned and upgraded to Enterprise not Enterprise LTSB
 3) linux  with improved roms.

ZEC works well
ETH crashes
XMR not tested
EOS not tested

OS + management + monitoring + roms (auto flash) is almost done, give me a few days and it'll be good to go!

Greetings!

Would Claymore ethman or equivalent solution part of your Linux package?

Equivalent but better, easier and a lot more interesting for large farm development. Smiley

You'll be able to switch from any miner to any other miner, any algo to any other algo.

Greetings!

Lovely!

I am wondering if can intergrate SRR into a rack of Pandas?

What is SRR ? a remote system of some kind?
27149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / A review and an apology to forum member ITOP on: January 08, 2017, 12:43:37 PM
This is the item in the review.

http://www.itopshop.net/pcie-1x-to-16x-pcie-riser-with-6pin-power-connector-version-6-p-303.html

http://www.ebay.com/itm/272456808280?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649

I reviewed his pcie cables in the summer.  They work well I gave a good review  and I am still using them as I type with some s9's at the solar array.

So he came up with 6 pin risers for you gpu cards.  He mailed me one for review.

I got the envelope along with some amazon packages  and due to holidays 3 or 4 reviews  I did not remember this particular item.

I looked at it and thought   when did I buy this and who did I buy it from?  59 years old and losing my mind Roll Eyes

So I plugged it into a rig  and it worked great.  ran it for a week or so.

I then sold a nice psu to generalt   he said do you have a link for  risers.  He knew I had a 6 pin one  So I said to him  I will toss in the six pin pcie riser so he is now using it and I never did a real review!

So ITOP shoots me a pm and asks me  did I ever get it.  I say to myself I am a freaking moron.

So the review is  the gear works  I used it for 1 week-2 weeks and now generalt is using it.

I will pm generalt to ask him to post here.

the photo is from the ebay link.  I did not use the hdd to pcie adapter.  I used a pcie direct to the riser

...
Question: When a block is found on the network, obliviously the pool that mined it is the first to know and first to mine a new block!. How long does it take for the other pool to be notified ? and is this a real factor
That depends on how well connected the pool is.
The problem is actually if they are not well connected, they will get more orphans.

So the smaller the time until every other pool knows about your block, the better.
It is not to your advantage to hide or delay the fact you found a block ...

Having 'extra' time to mine a block is not an advantage.
That 'extra' time is very small ('should' be less than 1 second) but it's not 'extra' time as such, it's actually time for some other pool to get into an orphan race with you by finding a block at the same height, which is, of course, bad.

Thanks Kano. Very interesting. So seeing pool pulling many block In-A-Row is just luck I guess.

yep  and more hash = lower odds.

if you have 1%  of the worlds hash  your odds are 1/100 x 1/100 or 10,000 to one   of  ever  pulling 3 in a row

if you have 1% of the worlds hash your odds are 1/100 x 1/100 x 1/100 or 1,000,000 of pulling the next 3  in a row

installed ANY language with no problem to Pandaminer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKUQMje4--Q

I followed that and did get an English pack to install.

However there is a lot of Chinese mixed in plus a tiny bit of French.

I think I hit a wrong setting to get that French.

I am still waiting for a part to make a full clone of the msata ssd.

Once I have a full clone. I will Report back on if I can upgrade from enterprise LTSB to just

window 10 enterprise. I have a source for a real key for that build.

I just did a build from win 10 pro to win 10 enterprise. And I activated with a enterprise key.

That was on a z270 that I am reviewing for newegg.

So I may be able to fully activate the panda miner to windows 10 enterprise legit and legal

Okay  I found a really good price for a platinum psu.  it is small 550 watts will do 2 rx 470's no worries.

USA buyers

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA07234S8693&cm_re=Rosewill_Quark-_-17-182-349-_-Product

The price is $69.99  fully modular

It is great for a  smaller build

I own
the 550   watt quark
the 850   watt quark
the 1000 watt quark
the 1200 watt quark

They work well none have failed.

and $69.99 for a  platinum 550 watt modular psu is really cheap.

Oh I go my hands on a new z270 mobo  review is here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128966&cm_re=aorus_motherboard-_-13-128-966-_-Product

this will be fleshed out today as the intel cpu arrived today.

Does the z270 do more than 4 GPUs? I read that there are 4 more PCIE lanes, but they're for the X3D cache

I am short parts to fully test that.  but now that I know the trick pandaMinder does to change a non enterprise windows ten into an enterprise ten I will be test that in the next two weeks.

@ GabryRox  the price is great really great sale ends today.  If you wire and setup correctly it can be done 2 plus to one board. be careful

@m1n1gP4d4w4n

yeah we do get really good prices in the USA at times.

The z270 board is up and running!

I have 1 rx 470 and 1 rx 460 running in it.  doing eth

the board is pretty has nice leds

How to Upgrade to Windows 10 Enterprise
Rather than messing with DISM, you can do this entirely from Windows 10’s Settings app. To do so, open the Settings app from your Start menu, select “Update & Security,” and select “Activation.” Click the “Change Product Key” button here.

You’ll be asked to enter a new product key. If you have a legitimate Windows 10 Enterprise product key, you can enter it now. But if you don’t, grab the KMS client setup key for Windows 10 Enterprise  and Windows 10 will automatically convert itself to a Windows 10 Enterprise system. Remember, as this isn’t an valid key for activation, the resulting Windows 10 system won’t activate with Microsoft’s activation servers online. You may not want to do this on your primary Windows system.

Here’s the key you’ll need to enter for Windows 10 Enterprise:

NPPR9-FWDCX-D2C8J-H872K-2YT43

I have a source for Windows 10 Enterprise key that is legit.

So by the end of the day this board should have a Working windows 10  enterprise.  If it works and does more then 4 cards I will buy the legit key.

It is now a Windows 10 Enterprise I have 30 days to activate it.  This is allowable with any windows 10 .  After 30 days you need to activate it.

I will need a few days to get all parts to test this mobo and cpu

 I have an intel i5-7500

The aorus z270 k5 by gigabyte.
stock intel cooler
1 stick of ram
1 1tb ssd sandisk edge
1 silverstone 700 watt  titanium
1 msi rx 470
1 visiontek rx 460

I fucked up with a riser I got it in the mail and did not remember where I purchased it.  it worked great It had a six pin pcie jack for power. not those shit   4 pin power jacks.

I used a few weeks and rearranged all my gear for the panda miner  So I sold a psu to generalt and he asked me if I had a riser So I tossed it in and never did the review of duh moron me.

I will post more on it  but I am asking generalt does it still work well?

At stock settings, benchmarking shows 27.596 MH/s for ETH and 209 H/s for each card.

Not bad for stock settings.

These are not a stock settings - the cards in Panda Miner are already with modded roms

Yup, you are right. Eliovp did report that the GPUs were already modded before he further did some mod improvements.

yes I think  .975 volts  vs 1.050  stock

This site is now offering Pandaminer https://www.eastshore.xyz/shop/ethereum-gpu-miner-eth-zcash-xmr-supported/

Under description it says "full life warranty"... scam site or true?

Cheers from Norway  Smiley

Sound fishy... margins seems to be low for a reseller. Also lifetime warranty... but could be legit, their shop on alibaba seems to be highly rated.

they seems to sell https://www.eastshore.xyz/shop/ethereum-miner-geass-198mh-asic-miner-for-ether-mining/ i didn't knew about this one lol 730W for 198MH that seems low

God forbid US customs gets their hands on you after buying from this site

Yeah. That line would scare me off.

At the true price of 2k or so and tax of 3 %.  10 units at 1900 = 19000 tax = 570 maybe a bit less or a bit more.

OK deleted a lot of crap Tongue

Tournamentdan, I've left one or 2 of your posts with you stating numbers about your luck with miners.
You seem to want to tell everyone that they don't have miners that they do have, and that they don't have problems with them when they have had, then that they should be happy with those problems coz that's normal.
Waste of posts doing that coz, yeah, I'll just delete them.
Another fine example of Kano putting a spin on what's posted, distorting it away from what it actually is.

You are truly a person to be admired for persistent attacks here.

I am pretty interested in you and your motivations.  As you know by now I just a cook and I am making some turkey soup as I type this post.

Why do you shower kanos thread with so much attention.  Kano has a small pool. Under 30ph not much money involved. Why all the attention to us? In fact. You are heating up the attention now that we had a really bad NOVEMBER with a worse DECEMBER.  The pool is under 1% of the entire network so why bother?

I would love to know the why?

he is here to attack Kano and ck...

I defy you to find even one time I've "attacked" ck!

I love you man even when I have surrendered and asked for no mas  you still attack.

I guess you   want me to rate you above the late great  forum member .   seriouscoin  may he rest easy now that he decided to no longer troll the forum.

I have a suggestion  you should read his posts  some of the most brilliant attacks ever made on this forum.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=54366;sa=showPosts

here are all his posts read up study and maybe you can  learn to attack as he did.  I had classic battles with him in my difficulty threads.  truly great banter back and forth.  You could learn from a master such as him.

Me I am just a cook.  In fact I am just going to start cooking some turkey soup in a few minutes.

your first post ever made.  true brilliance

your second post ever made just as smart
I gave it a shot...  I chickened out and went back to the pool after just over a day...

Yeah, because that how it works best!
And people really wonder why so many stick with AntPool? Huh

I am serious  you are a quality troll   both posts show an attack against miners using ck's pool.  Thus discouraging   miner to shoot the breeze on the pool  .

thus   making less mining on the pool.

You are very good at your techniques  of attacking  people  it is why I  love you  quite a bit you know.  I admire people with your skill set of making people get angry.

...It's just plain stupid to ignore all the boards failures and tell us we are stupid to ignore the S9 because your SMALL sample size represent the entire universe failure ratio of the S9.

It's just plain irrational.
...
Makes me think of the phrase "cognitive dissonance" and something about pots and kettles.  Undecided

English isn't my first language.

The point is 19 units is nothing over the thousand units produced and you cannot conclude anything based on that.

That's the point. I'm sure you got it but you have to make re-write it just to make looks stupid.

...It's just plain stupid to ignore all the boards failures and tell us we are stupid to ignore the S9 because your SMALL sample size represent the entire universe failure ratio of the S9.

It's just plain irrational.
...

And your friend having 40 issues out of 400 units makes the units bad as a whole?

Did you ever went through their RMA process or took the time to read about it ?

I'm sure you do... but you needed to ask the question just to make me look foolish again.

If you're fine that, it's your problem but it is unacceptable for me. This is where you and I will never agree.

You do what the fuck you want with your money but don't try to make us like idiots because YOU think it is right for you.

Herb  please don't feed the troll.

he is here to attack Kano and ck  just look at the % of posts he posts on those threads.  His first 16 posts were all on ck's thread

more then 100 of his 176 posts are on ck and kano's two threads.

He is not stupid he is a very clever troll.

@ the genie   please leave us alone  as most of us are too old for this and it raises our blood pressure too. much.

I have mad respect for you  your first post back in July was a  brilliant  insult  of me and you are almost as good as the greatest troll of all (for bitcointalk.org) seriouscoin.

I humbly ask you to leave us alone and instead attack either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton via twitter.  Most of us can not handle your brillant wit and hard ass tactics   we take the bait and get angry.  On behalf of this thread I beg you   very humbly no mas! no mas!
