I reviewed his pcie cables in the summer.  They work well I gave a good review  and I am still using them as I type with some s9's at the solar array.

So he came up with 6 pin risers for you gpu cards.  He mailed me one for review.

I got the envelope along with some amazon packages  and due to holidays 3 or 4 reviews  I did not remember this particular item.

I looked at it and thought   when did I buy this and who did I buy it from?  59 years old and losing my mind  

So I plugged it into a rig  and it worked great.  ran it for a week or so.

I then sold a nice psu to generalt   he said do you have a link for  risers.  He knew I had a 6 pin one  So I said to him  I will toss in the six pin pcie riser so he is now using it and I never did a real review!

So ITOP shoots me a pm and asks me  did I ever get it.  I say to myself I am a freaking moron.

So the review is  the gear works  I used it for 1 week-2 weeks and now generalt is using it.

Phil did send me this riser with a PSU that I purchased from him.  I merely asked him which riser he uses and he was kind enough to just include this riser with my PSU.  The reason I asked Phil is because I kept having problems with my current USB risers.  I have been using the USB risers that are molex powered and they have been nothing but nightmares.  I was constantly having the system lock up on me.  Some times it would mine for hours and sometimes days but eventually it would crash on me and I would have to keep a constant eye on it.  It always seemed to crash at the most inopportune times as well.  After spending days trouble shooting drivers and switching between windows and linux.  Eventually I stumble across a post that said the USB cables that came with some risers were junk.  So I went ahead and ordered some USB cables that MarkAZ uses on his awesome systems.  After swapping out the USB cables my system was stable!  I was so happy to not have to constantly reboot the rig and lose mining time.  Everything was great.  Then I started to switch between coins going between XMR, ETH and ZEC.  The system started acting up again.  At first I though either the miner software was causing the problems but even the old stable version was locking up the machines again.  Sometimes one video card wouldn't show up at all.  Phil knows that in my situation I prefer to have the systems in a case.  That's when the posts about the Rosewill 4U case popped up.  This was a perfect solution for me so I ordered one of the cases.  In the process of moving my rig from the frame into the server case I noticed that on one of the risers the SATA to molex cable was ever so slightly melted!  That's when Phil sent me this riser.  He did not send the PCIe to SATA adapter.  I probably wouldn't use it depending on the gauge of that adapter but going direct PCIe to the riser is fantastic!  I don't have to worry about the PSU drawing too much power from the SATA or Molex connection.  I am also using the USB cable that he included and it has been running 100% no problems.  This is in my 4 card rig that I have transferred into a Rosewill L4500 case.  At first I just propped the GPU's up but I have since secured them in place with the Spotswood drop in bracket that fit like a glove.  The system has been mining XMR solid now with no crashes at all using Claymore's for over 83 hours and that's when I either shut it down to put the GPU brackets in or updated to the latest version of Claymore's.



I apologize for the lack of pictures but this USB riser has been running solid in my system for over two weeks without a single issue.  Unfortunately I have to go out and shovel snow now.

I have 12 of those exact risers and they are the best I have used. I ordered from another seller on eBay, but they are identical. I have had other versions melt on me, and these seem to be solid with the power from a 6 pin or the sata to 6 pin. What really stood out to me over other versions I have used is the part that goes in the motherboard pcie slot seems thicker, so it fits nicely and doesn't have room to wiggle.

As most people know my attitude towards riser have been I don't need those stinking risers.

Mostly due to melt.

 I do have a photo of a melted hdd plug that went to a riser with four pins.

I will post it later.

These risers seem to be safer due to six pin power feed.

Yes since day one I've had nothing but problems with USB risers.  I've been in Phil's camp about USB risers.  I've probably spent over 80+ hours troubleshooting rig problems that ended up being bad riser problems.  These risers also make it much easier to use server PSUs on your GPU rigs.

Been using these for a few months now, and quite happy with them, have gone through a few hundred and sold over 100 to forum members... We all buy from the same factory to get these, ITOP obviously made a good choice as well...

If i ask for europe it's because of customs, they're murder here and im the unlucky one that always get controlled... Also delays, even if im not in that hurry. but thx for the link

I also have been using these risers for a couple of months now and have had nothing but good luck with them. I bought 10 at first to test out (shipped from China) and they worked out so well I placed a second order for another 60. I do like these for rigs using server PSUs and breakout boards as I can then feed each of them from a dedicated 12V PCIe cable, but I also have used them successfully running two risers from a 4-pin Molex adapter cable on consumer PSUs.

It is good to see these getting more attention and hopefully they will have more availability in the US.

Funny story.

With all the talk about crappy riser connectors why not put a 6 pin connector right on the riser card?
It eliminates the need for an adapter cable and excess connectors. No molex, no sata just the PCIe
direct from the PSU.

that is what these cards have

we dont use the sata to six pin  most of use use a second  psu  and go pcie to riser and pcie to gpu.

that is isolated from the mobo  and the only connection to the mobo is the usb to pcie 1x  on the mobo
