Mornin' all!!

Can't really be arsed reading back through 20 odd pages but I think I get the idea from the last couple: cultists have their fingers in their ears, Chessnut clinging to EW for comfort while TERA is a lone voice of reason along with...Fonzie.  Strange days indeed  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Hey Fonzie...where in Asia are you at present?

Right now iīm in Malaysia-Kuala Lumpur, preparin for my flight back home on Sunday. I had awesome weeks , i have visited Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia and New Guinea.
23 flights in 6 weeks  Cheesy

Why aren't you out meeting girls, rather than trolling the BTC threads?

My girlfriend is with me, this would have been complicated. Cheesy

Does anyone has a explanation why we did have a 15-25$ spread between the western and the asian exchanges in the last 2-3 weeks?
Havenīt we been mostly equal before?
2723  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 29, 2014, 02:45:47 AM
What puzzles me is that a round number like 500$ isnīt used a strong point for either support or resistance.
We often have seen huge walls on such important points, like the 1000$ resistance or the 400$ support.
And 500 for sure is a pretty number. Everyone placed bids @666 for days/weeks but no one uses 500 iīm a bit dissapointed.

Edit. I consider that as a bearish sign  Wink Cheesy

Breaking News:

If no one buys we wonīt go up  Shocked

If no one sells, we won't go down.

I have to think about that, but there might be some truth in it.
For now, Chona started dumpin a little bit. Weīll see how low this will go.

2727  Economy / Speculation / Re: China BANNED BITCOIN! This time for real! on: March 29, 2014, 01:35:12 AM
The Bitcoin protocol is amazing, if China bans it then it will be their loss a decade from now.

Bitcoin doesn't need China, the US, the EUR, Bitcoin is like gold, use it or don't. It exists regardless...

If the governments of the world ban it then it will simply go underground.

If it goes underground it will lose 95% of itīs value. Thatīs what people in the speculation forum care about.

Well, "officially they donīt ban Bitcoin itself, theyīre just closing down the bank accounts of the exchanges. As far as i know it is still allowed to deposit and withdraw cash.
So Bitcoin itself will not get banned, thatīs what they announced in their denial statement, so in fact they didnīt lie. No ban, just makin tradin useless.

Is the news bogus? There is certainly reason to believe it may not be.

Some reason more significant than repeats of a single article that contained no proof or references?

I did see a link to CCTV posted on TradingView... did not click, figured it was in Chinese anyway... but many people were saying the [practical] ban was being discussed on CCTV.

Maybe I just got trolled.

Iīm pretty sure that the ban is real. I just donīt know if and how much further we drop when it is official.

They banned another online payment service a few weeks ago, as far as i know.
No big deal for them to close their bank accounts.Itīs similar to the Gox diaster, everybody knew about it but denied it until the last second.
People even sent money to Gox in the last days, when it was more than obvious what was happenin.
The chinese traders will probably trade until the last second and further, when itīs too late to get money out.

wouldnt they just hodl their coins for better days anyway?

C'mon, bitcoin has a 10 billion dollar cap, surely can do better than reheating the same leftover FUD from last week. There have been multiple requests for clarification from Chinese banks and exchanges and all of them have had zero response, no official source has verified this 'news'.

Over weeks everyone that mentioned that Gox will go down was called an evil FUD spreader...
I even made a poll 8 weeks before the shutdown, that was called:
"How long until Gox shuts down"
People laughed at me for not selling Bitcoin on Gox for 10%+ premium prices

@chessnut

Thanks, i agree with all your points. The only thing that worries me is the fact of the small bid depth. I also doubt that we will see another real bull trend in the next 2-3 months.
But the charts indeed look like we should see a nice upward correction at least.

^^ true that, but short term analysis says that the short term fiat was spent. huge volume came on that third wave. we were even treated to a fifth wave of panic. the bears are exhausted. The nubs have sold.

Would you mind posting a chart of your EW analysis?

I wonder if you could help me, I have no clue how to post images on this site.

Ill click but what do I put in between the brackets? when I copy an image all I manage to paste is the file name.

You have to copy the URL inside the brackets. Use tinypic or another image uploader.
It should look loke this:

Goddammit I'm bitcoin's worst trader, today's masterpiece: I shorted at 487.

Simply doing the opposite of my decisions is one of the best indicators available

why do you keep shorting? we're like really close to bottom... we might even be below bottom.  Cheesy

hehe  Cheesy

I don't know, after I have lost 21 bitcoins at MtGox I have been trying to trade as aggressively as possible with my remaining 4 bitcoins only on 2.5 leverage to somehow have a chance at getting my savings back  Sad

Quite a sad story, especially since bitcoin's price was to me in fact always the least interesting aspect of this technology

:-( Sorry to hear. Well if you have only 4 left you could give it a try and go leveraged  long until 600 and donīt trade in between.

Close your shorts immediately and go long to recover losses (or lose double if it goes down to 440$ afterwards)
