This is looking very sketchy now, stay or go. Have been here for a while on XAI but think it might be time to move on to something else.

this apparently isn't clear enough for the average people out there, as long as only nerd see bitcoin as a good thing, we cannot move on the next step
it seems that banks already know how bad their position will be if they are running for cover already, example citycoin, which is laughable....
As I've said to many people previously some people (average Joe) really don't care that much about the monetary system, how it affects them and also exactly how it works. It often takes a crisis to awaken people and due to human nature this crisis has to affect them to care. Counterparty risk is a major thing that many bitcoiners forget when convincing joe public to use bitcoin rather than trust the traditional banking system but it is a sad fact that many people don't want to be in control of their own wealth. When you can lose your life savings by losing backups of wallets its not suprising that people want to trust in traditional banking sytems. At least then they wont have their money hacked/stolen (even if bailouts come out of the tax payers pockets. Many don't understand this) The reality of things is we are stuck at being a small group of geeks, enthusiast, nerds and investors. We are 1 to 2 decades away from BTC being mainstream. Look at it from a positive side tho, it just means we are way ahead of the pack. It took exactly that for the internet to be seen as something cool and normal, before it was all nerds etc. Thats exactly the point. Its not very often that you get the chance to be a pioneer and at the forefront of a potential global reformation technology. Think the key word here is 'potential' it is true that the everyday person simply does not take the time to get involved and understand some of the things that are crucial to their lives. Politics, currency, unemployment and so on until it directly affects them. Slowly but surely as countries fall into issues as we have recently seen with Greece, Bitcoin or a variation of Bitcoin will bring everyone together in a future of the Blockchain.

The idea of burning the remaining coin is fantastic. This way less coins will be in circulation which will add more value to it.I will second this idea of burning the coins.
Burning the coins has my vote also, if people miss out on the giveaway they will just need to buy some.

Working and go crazy with this whole cryptocurrency addiction I have developed

I think once we can walk into high street stores and pay using Bitcoin, this will be a true sign rather then just a few niche stores here and there. paying for your Mcdonald's with BTC would mean that's it game over job done haha

All received and the bot is now showing the correct amount of payment so I am happy, will stick here for a while.

small or large an ICO is an ICO and in theses times it just scares serious people away and attracts the quick get me rich people.

I think 10k is too much, at a guess I would say back up to the 1k mark next year and it will remain hovering around that mark albeit up and down a bit, then perhaps if it gets the right attention slowly moving up towards 5k by 2020.

It is what it is, there's no stopping it now. The only way is for the community to simply stop buying into the useless waste of space coins on the chance of a quick buck, which I have been guilty of in the past. Either we stop supporting them or it's left up to the exchanges to be more strict on their criteria for listing, which I can't really see them doing as it would lose them money, certain exchanges are worse than others but equally most of the altcoin exchanges carry dead weight.

Faucets would be a way to earn free Bitcoin but it can take a fair bit of time to amass a decent amount, there are some signature campaigns that accept newbies. If you do a search for 'signature campaigns' you should be able to find one that accepts newbies, from memory I am sure I saw Yobit offering slots for newbies. Then with your payment you could trade altcoins on Yobit and make some profit....... maybe.

|
|
I would hope for Bittrex rather than Yobit once the giveaway is over, it's a much more credible exchange, Yobit has the habit of killing coins before they start.

This is a needed tool as from just watching some of the threads the pricing can be quite erratic

As much as I am not a fan, Kanye west dropping a quick tweet to his followers would get things going. I would love to see Hulk Hogan back in the day pushing Bitcoin lol "say your prayers, eat your vitamins and mine your bitcoins....... brother !"

I have learned to stay away from any ICO that comes out, it is such an easy way now for people to just take your money. For me to invest in an ICO now it would have to be something amazing in the works for a long time and not just a pop up shop style announcement, and even then it is risky.
What happened to the early days when if a coin was released, it was either given away or fairly opened up to miners and thus creating a nice community, now it seems everyone is out for a quick buck.

Hi guys,
My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I want to get him physical Bitcoin. I need some expert views. My budget is around $300-$400... I have the cash, what do I do next? Where do I make the purchase?
Thanks,
I'm guessing by your profile name 'I love Obama' that it's really your husband Barrack Obama you want to buy the Bitcoin for, isn't it? There's no need to be shy, now. Even Obama needs Bitcoin. Just tell him to order the federal reserve to make him one... oh, wait. Hmmm, he'll have to nationalize them first I guess, then actually get the people controlling it elected, instead of self elected. Tell him to be careful though, as the last person who was going to pull that routine on the Feds was JFK, and we all know how that ended. Haha had to laugh when I read this comment. Bitcoin?? Yes we can, Yes we can. Regarding physical Bitcoin it's not something I ever thought of actually looking into, just looking at the Genesis thread and the coins look great.

Litecoin is halving soon so maybe there will be a little flux in the price and might be a good time to buy some, it has been around for a while and It probably will be with us for the foreseeable.

Agree, there are far too many coin launches for the sake of quickly getting onto an exchange and then pump and dump, there are some that have been around for a while and some of these seem to be coming back into play now. DNotes was one I thought was long gone but now is doing quite well and has had a nice steady price for a few weeks, myself I have been into XAI for a while now as I like the idea and the developer is on the ball doing things by himself, also TRI initially for their catchy phrase "you know why..." but to be fair they have a nice coin, small amount and they have a cracking android trading app which I don't think many are aware of, check it out https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=820103.0
