2721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Coping Strategy for Bitcoin Price Crash on: May 12, 2022, 01:31:32 PM
What are your strategies for coping with the Bitcoin and crypto market crash?
If you are new to the crypto environment, one can easily get affected mentally during times like this where the market crashes. One thought to console self with is that - "you are not alone", the market situation is in no way a fault of yours or a result of your actions, so you don't have to get depressed about it. You are not the only one being affected, so you have to be strong. Worrying about something you cannot change is futile.

Your strategy at this point is to take calculated actions to try and mitigate the losses for the now. It is a temporary market situation and that should give you hope as well.

Interesting English premier league matches today,
All the teams at the bottom of the table- Leeds, Watford and Norwich have solidified their place at the bottom of the table with all three of them not being able to get three points from any of their fixtures this weekend.

For Chelsea, it was a much expected win from their supporters, it would have been most disappointing had they dropped points and made It a possibility for arsenal to become third. Good game, special commendation for Lukaku, he impressed me and got a goal that is important for his confidence just in time before their FA cup final game...there is hope for Chelsea.

Im wondering why Binance didn't Announce a DELIST for those SHIT COINS till now
So sorry OP if you lost some money to this, but it seems like you are you just looking to cast blames and binance is in view. You should have known by now that you can't always bank on altcoins for investment purpose, if you didn't, you do now. Not trying to justify binance, but they can't be blamed if a coin that was doing well and was approved by them for listing suddenly performs poorly.

I think, Liverpool management will look for way to increase Mane salary to 120k pounds because Mane has done well for Liverpool team. It will be difficult for Liverpool management to allow Mane to leave Liverpool to another team because Mane mean so much to Liverpool that will make the management to do everything possible to make Mane happy.
IMO, if asked about the player most likely to stay at Liverpool between Mane and Salah, i'd say Salah. Regardless of Mane's performance both for country and club this year and his important goals for the club in important games, he hasn't gotten enough recognition that he deserves.

He won the AFCON for his country Senegal, the first in their history and also World cup qualification, he also has been instrumental to Liverpool's Champion's League performance as well as performance in the EPL, this season...If Liverpool wins the UCL, Mane should also be amongst one of the candidate or nominee's for Ballon D'or this year, he has done a lot.

At this point, he is a hotcake in England, if Liverpool do not do the needful... another club may entice him with a salary currently better that what he receives.
2725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 10, 2022, 07:53:19 PM
Three points behind Manchester City. Liverpool FC must win today.
It seems that the officials want this as well because so far in this game Liverpool have gotten away with some tackles. Entering the game...i didn't see any motivation for Aston Villa,  but their players have really stepped up to the challenge of Liverpool and are playing like it's their biggest game of the season, very unexpected from perhaps Liverpool players and klopp. Steven Gerrard has done a fine job tactical keeping Luis diaz in his tracks with two men marker just as Conte did.

In his usual manner, klopp dashed into the dressing room likewise Gerrard, looking forward to what both coaches come up with to break the tie in the second half.

2727  Economy / Economics / Re: Solution to unemployment: creating new jobs or early retirement on: May 09, 2022, 04:24:13 PM
The solution to unemployment some would say is to create more jobs.
Can the government really create enough jobs for every unemployed? with the large and increasing percentage of unemployed persons in the society, i see it as a herculean task for the government to create jobs for every individual. It would have been easier then, but now currently with the rising population and some other factors will be more difficult.

What the government can do is to create an enabling environment for the option of entrepreneurship alongside it's scheme to create jobs. Some individuals will do better to society working for themselves than working for someone else. As this is the case, the government can play it's part by supporting them through favourable policies and schemes to ensure that entrepreneurship is profitable for them.
2728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want to live a peaceful life? Without drama? Then HODL and enjoy the ride on: May 09, 2022, 03:50:01 PM
I've never sold a satoshi since 2013, actually never sold any BTC. I've seen all the ups and downs, seen them all. I'm very relaxed now because I just HODL and enjoy the ride. Let the weak hands lose, the strong hands will remain.
I don't think those who have sold some of their coins along the way will be happy reading this and seeing that they are have been called "weak hands". Your act of HODLing for long since 2013 is really commendable, but still on... doesn't justify criticizing others who maybe have faced more difficult situations than yours. Some people did not sell just because of the dip which we all know is temporary, some other situations necessitated it and everyone has their thresholds.
2729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 08, 2022, 06:15:11 PM
Bayern Munich - Stuttgart match is tied 2-2
Very unexpected result from the home team Bayern, many expected them to win stuttgart and even bet on them...very unfortunate result this will be. For Stuttgart supporters, they will be excited that their team was able to get at least a point from the game today, there's still hope for them to remain in the league.

Next fixture for Stuttgart is FC Cologne, not going to be an easy game for them, but winning is not impossible plus it is very important of they must escape relegation.

Newcastle this season haven't been very good at playing either and for another surprise I don't think it's there.
Newcastle is on the list of teams expected to play and do better next season, other teams that we expect a better performance from next season are; Tottenham who did not have a great start to the season but now playing better under Conte, Everton who were terrible, almost in relegation zone but now safe under Lampard, Manchester United under new management, i personally also expect a better start for Arsenal next season.
2731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Taught my Octogenarian and Septuagenarian Parents about Bitcoin on: May 08, 2022, 03:45:05 PM
it's interesting to know that, your parents are an observing type and as such, built an interest in the things they see you do quiet often.
I bet it was easier for OP to talk to his folks and that they gave him premium attention and a chance majorly because they already have a relationship with him and wanted to give him a chance to express himself. If there was no relationship say OP just randomly met some elderly persons and started to talk/educate them about bitcoin, his teaching process would not have gone smoothly as the case was with his parents IMO.

Many of us have enquiring minds, and are prepared to look at new concepts with an open attitude.
Not disputing this as a fact, but in truth, they are mostly open minded to accept new innovations when presented by someone mature, around their age grade, someone they are already familiar with, a successful individual, someone they deem knowledgeable in a particular field and not just any random individual. The elderly are selective of the information they accept.
2732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 08, 2022, 07:06:46 AM
Manchester City will not miss this opportunity there are no other targets other than the trophy this season, I can't imagine Man City without tropy this season.

After Real Madrid beat them to the final, their only consolation now for this season is the EPL, and they can't afford to loose that. Unlike klopp who will be trying to play it safe, reason being that they still have very important games, the UCL final and FA cup final to play, Pep will throw all they got to ensure that they clinch the cup this season, and i think they can.

Arsenal on the other hand need to be careful when they play leeds in their fixture today, We need to win to remain in top four and Leeds need to win to avoid relegation, both teams know what is at stake. Personally i always fear any team trying to avoid relegation, they always put in their all, like it's their last, i hope we can win leeds today.

2733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 07, 2022, 07:44:04 PM
The LFC/Tottenham match is turning out to be quite exciting.
Very tight game between Liverpool and Spurs, it's been a very tactical game for both teams, for Liverpool it's a must win game to ensure that they still have a chance at the EPL, for Tottenham, it is to ensure they still have a chance at top four.

Personally, I'll love to see Liverpool win against Tottenham, so they can drop points before they (spurs) get to play us (arsenal).

Tottenham are looking to entice Liverpool out more so they can get the break on a quick counter and score. The game between these two teams last time ended in a tie, will be better this time to get a winner, most preferably should be Liverpool.

Victor Osimhen to Arsenal transfer: Striker ‘chooses’ move, £84m deal, Man United decision
If i were him, i'd choose arsenal over MUFC. If CR7 doesn't leave the club, i doubt any other player will be able to get the spotlight and recognition they deserve. Arsenal is in a dire need for a striker to support the likes of Nketiah, and if he can perform...we all that support the club will get to love him, he can really build a name for himself in arsenal.

In other news, The management of Arsenal has extended the deal with Arteta  as coach. He will now be in charge of Arsenal till 2025. IMO, this is good because as a club, we need stability, with a few introduction of some key players, we can do better next season.

2735  Economy / Economics / Re: Standard of living on: May 06, 2022, 06:45:29 PM
So i would like to know what the standard of living is like in your country now compared to five years ago. Was there any sharp difference in the standard of living pre pandemic and now.
Considerably, there's been a decline in the standard of living in my locale, the price of goods and commodity has increased, very different from what they used to be five years ago.  Five years ago, i'm pretty sure no-one expected the price of things to be as high as they are currently in my country Nigeria.

A lot of factors have contributed to this and not necessarily only the Russian-Ukraine crisis. There is Corruption, bad leadership, insecurity, and also a case that we are over dependent on our petroleum products, so any global event affecting crude oil market affects us considerably.

Five years ago from our current year will be 2017,  consider the cost of these commodities from 2016 till our current year.

These are just the cost of some basic food items, you can agree that the increment and rising standard of living will also reflect on other basic necessities like Clothing and Shelter.

There is no indication that these prices will come down anytime soon.
2736  Other / Off-topic / Re: Home advantage and it resultant effects on football outcome on: May 06, 2022, 02:01:07 PM
the rule is HOME ADVANTAGE what is your opinion about this rule do you think the rule should be removed from football match rules and let the performance of teams be what their walk away with..
Your writing is not so clear OP, but if i understand you correctly, i think you are mistaking "Away goal rule" for "Home Advantage".

When a team plays at home, they have an advantage as it is expected that they have more spectators to cheer them up plus they are already conversant with the pitch of play. With that advantage, a home team is usually expected to perform better than a visiting side. This is what "Home Advantage" is to me OP.

"Away goal rule" is more closer to what i think OP is trying to describe, where an away goal will count more when two team play home and away games and there's a draw. If so, this rule has already been abandoned.
2737  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: May 06, 2022, 10:59:42 AM
Copyright rules in Nigeria is not as strict as it is in other countries, you barely see people penalize for it so I see reason why most students photocopy textbooks.
True, outside our dear country 9ja, copyright rules dey stricter, you fit enter prison sake of say you dey play copywrited music in a public place, say your vehicle... that's why you notice that abroad, they are mostly tuned in to their radio stations. If na so dem dey run am for Naija here, na prison many of us for dun dey.

We know how Nigerians are thinking, most students are buying the low cost copy. But to be sincere, with low cost, they are of good design. Not the photocopy ones, that is crazy.
Do you think our economy, that is the fact that some students in school do not have money enough to purchase the original copy, has a part to play in why students buy the low cost one?

Do you think it is also an indication of how education has lost value in the country, say students nor dey reason buy better textbook because they don't use it, and Universities bookshops and lecturers sell low cost textbooks to student because majority don't read it?
2738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Btc be considered as an everlasting investment platforms on: May 06, 2022, 10:27:20 AM
•Is btc here to stay ?
It is here to stay sure, but there's no telling if there will another innovation that becomes superior to it.

•Is bitcoin going to be an everlasting investment platforms ?
Btc as investment was never the original intention of Satoshi, we merely have observed it's high volatility and are taking advantage of it. It will not remain so forever, a time will come when btc will assume it's original purpose which is to facilitate transactions and eliminate government influence.

•Assurance and guarantee of the bitcoin ?
No assurance and guarantee, just believe backed by knowledge.

•Bitcoin will replace the physical note tendency ?
Maybe not immediately or completely, but btc will definitely someday gain mass acceptance and many people will most likely prefer it's usage to physical notes.
2739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: May 05, 2022, 09:26:53 PM
It is not too hard for me to predict how the Liverpool - Tottenham game would end in fact. But Tottenham are still a very tricky team now.
Not just a tricky team, but a team also in form, and that have the sort of players and play the kind of game that can upset Liverpool. Liverpool will have to double up and ensure that they don't loose chase of the title this season by dropping points,  because for a team like Manchester city that are no longer in the UCL, Pep's focus will now be on ensuring that they win this season's EPL.
2740  Economy / Economics / Get, Save & Invest. on: May 05, 2022, 06:45:39 PM
Get Money - Save money - Invest money.
Follow the cycle and don't stop half way.

Get Money- Popular opinion is that you need money to get money, any contrary opinion?
Once you have started getting money the next objective should be how to get more.

Save money- To save money is good, another popular opinion to support this is that , the money you save today will save you tomorrow.
The problem however results when you just keep saving money pointlessly without any plans on how what to do with it, The worse of all is saving money in fiat banks, that money will loose value in no time at all.

Invest money- This for me is the last stage in the cycle that creates more money for you to be able to get more money. More money betters ones opportunities.

Follow the cycle, don't stop halfway at saving money.
