It's not bad that OP is raising such advise at this point in the market where there's so much uncertainty than before. For risk taking in times when a market doesn't seem favourable is what has made many outstanding businessmen reach the height they are today.

But one thing OP fail to attach to his thread is that people should always never forget to put in an amount they are able to easily let go should there be a downfall to their investment plan. So as to avoid certain depression they may arise eventually from your loss.
2722  Other / Politics & Society / I am seem to be jobless and not bothered. on: August 10, 2022, 03:05:03 PM
I am seem to be very jobless.
From the look of things around my ambient and how my neighbours view me and based on rumours, some persons are of the thoughts that am just one jobless guy within the neighborhood who is always either seen operating one gadget sitting at our balcony.

Some are just of the opinion that I might just be involved in one of those scamming internet fraudsters and that's why am always seen pressing and operating my gadget without any concern of looking for a job that would take me out of the house on work days just like my other counterparts within my neighborhood that are graduates like me. Although I have an office work which needs my presence just ones or twice a month as I could just stay at home and do the rest job from my laptop.

I try to manage my time into Bitcoin and my office job but as someone that lives an aloof life, as am of a well reserved lifestyle. So many persons have nothing of any idea about me and my private life within my neighborhood. And I believe it's due to this that they are of the opinion, assumptions and thoughts that am one jobless or internet scammer within the neighborhood as am always seen doing nothing but just with operating of my gadget.

And I was wondering, are there other people like me who are facing such mistaken thoughts and view from persons around their neighborhood towards them and how are they handling it.
2723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what age did you start learning about bitcoin? on: August 10, 2022, 01:51:37 PM
Some weeks ago, I explained in a post how I taught my octogenarian and Septuagenarian parents about Bitcoin. One of the comments that caught my attention was made by Jet Cash.

I'm 80 in June. Why are you guys surprised that older people can embrace the concept of Bitcoin? Many of us have enquiring minds, and are prepared to look at new concepts with an open attitude. This is why many older people have a better understanding of the 'rona scam and vaccination mania, and don't just accept government and pharma' propaganda.

At that point, some of the questions that came to mind were, at what age did he start learning about bitcoin? What role did age and prior experience play in helping him learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrency? With his current knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency, does he wish he started at an earlier age?

I was 29 when I started learning about bitcoin and it has been one hell of a ride.  I know other members of this community also have their unique experiences which I am interested in reading about. So, I may just as well throw these questions open for discussion.

1. At what age did you start learning about bitcoin?
2. What role did age and prior experience play in helping you learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrency?
3. With your current knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency, do wish you started at an earlier age?

Dear Jet Cash, I wish you a very happy birthday in advance. Thank you for all that you do for the community.
I had an interest in knowing about Bitcoin within my third decades a time at which I was already done with my first degree and was all in focus for nothing but  a nice employable  lucrative Job which pay is reasonable.

Ever since the introduction of Bitcoin to me and with the much interest I developed towards getting much knowledge about it and how financially beneficial it Should be to me, my focus on employee job has gotten a paradigm shift to finding ways I could raise income through Bitcoin and be self employed rather than been employed.
2724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is this person trying to do on: August 10, 2022, 01:34:59 PM
By the subtle act of leaking their recovery key it's a way to capture the attention of their victims and allaying all acts that would have erupted fear and suspicion from the supposed victims. In that no sane person would softly release their recovery key to a stranger and by doing so that victim might feel he/she is dealing with a genuine individual not having in mind that it could be another new scam strategy.

Mates out there, let's be mindful of easy come accesses.
2725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have started teaching Bitcoin to my Neighbors on: August 09, 2022, 07:59:40 PM
Bravo! For what you have done it very much impressive and worth applauding. This is what I call cashing them young into the the World of Bitcoin before they grow older and they wouldn't depart from it.
I hope you just don't stop here but keep grooming them in the knowledge of what you know about Bitcoin until they are well enough to get to do well on their own based on all they have learnt.

Also, try to be patient with some of them that might not be catching up at a speedy pace, as some persons it takes a gradual but steady process to catch up with new things while for other it could be so fast
2726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How do you introduce Bitcoin to people without digital literacy? on: August 05, 2022, 07:45:51 AM
I have these friends which perhaps I refer to as "economic friends" of  mine, perhaps may be due to how out paths crossed. we met few years back when I had a work to be done and was in search of persons with the right skills to deliver such service within a framed period, and since then we have had a warm friendly relativeness.
Unknown to me that the few moments  these guys have being paying me some visits  at my workplace or home
they had at different intervals observed how am always spending some part of my day on a daily on the bitcointalk forum to either just read other users threads, make comments if necessary or at times create a thread of mine.

And so have developed interest and had asked me to introduce to them what's it's all about and that they would want to get involved too, of which I was glad to see them show some interest but the challenge am having about the whole stuff is that they don't have digital literacy not even a foundation I can build on, as they are just these local craft skilled workers who have only but engaged almost all their life into their area of skill.

For days now, I have exhaustively given explanations to them about what the forum is all about and how it works. Even clearly establishing to them to the extent I know about Bitcoin currency and how the system operates but seems like I was speaking to them in a different language, one that's confusing entirely. And I currently don't know any means to use in explaining to them what I know.

Based on the idea of bringing Bitcoin awareness to everyone's doorstep so as to  encourage popular and widespread a acceptance, I then felt the need to bring this challenge am facing to the forum, so maybe other users can proffer ways or possible strategies someone like me can employ to explicitly educate to the understanding of these friends of mine that have no digital literacy but have developed interest to know what I know Huh

For it's currently giving me a lot of concern!
2727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All newbies are welcome to this forum on: August 02, 2022, 05:01:47 PM
Bitcointalk is a wonderful platform when it comes to any information about Bitcoin and other coins and ways on how to avoid and discern scammers and their gimmicks. So every newbie should waste no time and take up the opportunity this forum offers.

All newbie's welcome!!
2728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you stop gamble if your girl friend insists ? on: August 02, 2022, 04:41:27 PM
Many people obey their girl friends more than anyone else.

What if their girl friend insists you to stop gambling  Huh Will you Stop  Tongue
If her reasons for insisting that I stop is to make me desist from incurring losses due to maybe she might have witnessed scenarios where I had 3x losses than I have made in profit from gambling , then she's doing a right thing for me, so I'll stop but not totally only just playing rarely.

But if am making good income from the gambling through which am paying some of her bills too, then to me she's just a factor I would choose to ignore.
2729  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: August 02, 2022, 01:33:57 PM
As things be so, whether government welcome crypto trading or not, Nigerians go continue to they involved in am, it is legal in our country, the only thing wey them do na to ban Naija banks them from processing crypto transactions, but crypto/crypto trading they go on without any trouble for here, the government fit no like am, and them fit no they in support of am, but so long as say e they legal, e no concern anybody wey they into crypto/crypto trading.

What if crypto trading because illegal? I see say the only reason we dey carry shoulder up na because government never ban crypto trading for the country and before you think say dem no fit do am remember wetin happen to twitter. Websites are centralized as such dey fit ban access to them for the country although VPN go clear road but e no go easy as e been dey before. And if them ban the trading then the officer go get right to dey distrub people.

E no get anyhow you go tell me say crypto trading no dey affect dollars price as well. I understand say the economy no good and na the major reason we Naira dey crash but we get other smaller factors and one of them na the unregulated crypto trading wey dey go on for the country.

This matter of the naira lossing weight for the market no really get better attachment with on how people the trade, the real coco nah we government wey don't totally  fail to do the right thing in the right way.

Just imagine how many of them and their children and relatives the run go sch abroad, what about the issue of every big n small man only wanting to buy only things wey be foreign made, imagine how much we government don borrow borrow up and down, inside all this borrow borrow conditions dey ontop am wey no dey favourable to the naira which we know but still becos of their selfish interest them go still go on borrowing.

As it stands like dis naija no follow for exporting countries except crude oil wey no be we sef the refine am despite how many refineries we gather get for the country. Oya just remember ajeokuta steel company  wey been the produce steel irons of any kinds how many years now it dey shutdown. That company alone go produce all the irons wey Nigeria need to take do anything weda na rail tracks, car panels and trucks but rather we dey import iron steel from China with the same  money with borrow from China. No be juju be that? So tell me how the dollar and other currencies no go continue to appreciate against the naira.

Oya make I burst ur brain! Do you know that in the 70s and 80s from Lagos international airport to New York was  #17,430 but today just from Port Harcourt airport to Lagos even #50,000 never reach for flight. Just imagine , so why people no go try hustle through the available loophole for other higher currency so Dem fit meet up the hike in prices of domestic goods and services?

This matter na only God fit give us the kind leader we dey look out for, cos everybody don really tire for this our FATHER LAND, but it is well shaa!

2730  Economy / Economics / Re: How much food can you store for survival?3 on: July 31, 2022, 06:52:44 PM
I'm thinking the same since the crisis is resulting to food shortage. I'm even thinking of moving first to my cousin who live near the lake. Where we could have unlimited fish to catch. And if in case there really is a war coming. Really worried if all these will escalate to a level where there is no U turn. You never know how long it will take.

Don't you think a water purifier will give you more advantage than keeping 100liters?  I'm thinking of putting all the stored food inside a van where you can travel with you wife because this is what I have in mind.

The more you could store I think if you go for dried food vs canned goods. I tried some in a vacuumed plastic and put them all storage box, this will keep you more than 30 days.  But of course you  still need some canned goods. First aid kit and medicines like antibiotic and for flu. I could be overthinking this already but its best to prepare.

It's  just a horrible situation, one very unimaginable should such situation go beyond human control. Not to think of those that can't even afford making available certain provisions that can keep them going for just 7days not to talk of 30days and beyond.

May God help us all.
2731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The characteristics of people who are addicted to online gambling on: July 31, 2022, 05:53:25 PM
Online gambling addictions such as online slots, online lottery, etc. can ultimately destroy the lives of the players, both financially, physically, emotionally, and socially. The back and forth wins experienced by online slot gambling players, online lottery, etc., is what ultimately makes these players fall into addiction. The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) in the United States estimates that bankruptcy, theft, domestic violence and neglect of children, foreclosure of homes and other investments, and even suicide are also linked to gambling addictions such as online slots.

The following are the characteristics of someone who is addicted to online gambling...
There is always a desire to gamble with increasing amounts of money, to achieve what you want.

Restlessness or irritability when trying to reduce or stop gambling.

After losing gambling money, often comes back another day to get revenge ("chase" someone's loss).

Forcing into debt and even committing crimes just to have playing capital, and relying on others to provide money to alleviate the desperate financial situation caused by gambling.

Often gambles when feeling depressed (eg stressed, helpless, guilty, anxious, depressed).
Are we one of the online gambling addicts...?
 Huh Huh Huh

Gambling addiction is what makes gambling to appear as an irresponsible man's activity, I knew of a case where a chronic gambler had to serially sell all his household properties down to his personal wears just to be able to keep up with the gambling life with the hope that eventually he will hit a major winning streak that will change his life much better than it where, but till as at when I was brief about the case his life is moving continuously from frypan to fire.

This utopian believe by addicted gamblers is what sustain their addiction and create a mirage to their life expected hope to no avail but ruin after ruin. It's really takes a lot of discipline and self determination to escape from the cage of addiction.
2732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we gradually approaching towards the end of Bitcoin? on: July 31, 2022, 08:52:25 AM
Bitcoin just like every other system that is decentralized is one that is controlled by the invincible hands of demand and supply, and this is what is into play at moment by which it's value is affected, the drop down we're experiencing can drastically make an upturn overnight that will  change everything about the value even more higher than it is now.
So for me, the current downsides is not a yardstick to say Bitcoin will fade away. If you look well Bitcoin is not the only digital asset that's been negatively affected in the market.
2733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will Never Fall Again on: July 31, 2022, 08:36:51 AM
This usually is an organized way of scamming the unsuspecting public who have no primary idea or knowledge about the workings of Bitcoin operation. They use a legal means (radio house) to disseminate their scam which probably makes many persons to accept their offers without a second thought of it been from a scammer corner since it's coming from a recognized  media house.
I remember falling for such seminars where I had to attend about  two different ones not until I came across this forum through an anonymous and now for me the difference is obvious about Bitcoin from what those so-called money-seeking-hunters had explained to me in the past.

I just feel sorry for those who still fall for such....
2734  Other / Beginners & Help / This is why Bitcoin is the only way on: July 24, 2022, 03:49:24 PM
The recent conflicts between Chinese police and depositors in Henan province of China for the past weeks gives a conspicuous importance and credence to the encouragement of people to better make use of Bitcoin either for trading, investment or as a store of value/wealth, as it saves you from government unscrupulous policies, due to the decentralization Bitcoin enjoys.

Imagine a situation where you are barred from having access to your hand earned money because it is in the control of a centralized systems.
A situation that could be worst!

According to a source statement:
The tanks were reportedly deployed on the streets to protect the banks and keep the protestors from attacking them. The incident follows a statement made by the Bank of China's Henan office that deposits made by customers are "investment items" therefore, they cannot be withdrawn.
https://saharareporters.com/2022/07/21/china-deploys-battle-tanks-prevent-people-withdrawing-money-banks-crisis

This is why crypto (Bitcoin) is the only way. And we that have seen it and, how it's working for us must spread it's usefulness far and near.
2735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: July 24, 2022, 12:28:27 PM
Arsenal must be really high motivated for the new season.
What does this says for Chelsea that they are not ready for the premier league.
Gabriel Jesus has shown fine form in the friendly game's. Scored two goals today.
Honestly speaking, Chelsea losing the game in that margine of 4:0 is what I'll describe as something in our favour. Let the club management understand that the club still need a seasoned striker in addition to Sterling, cause Sterling can't do it alone. Chelsea need to get it's house together before the EPL kicks off weeks from now, esle it would be a surprise to me that Chelsea would be struggling in the table just to qualify for Europa after this season.
2736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: July 24, 2022, 04:12:12 AM
Manchester City are playing in a friendly match against Bayern Munich in a few minutes.
They should be the favorites but the odds don't show it with Bayern having them.
Don't know if city will be dressing Haaland for this one. But more than likely in the second half just like Liverpool did with Nunez.

I'm also shocked to see that Manchester City is not being given as a favorite and I don't understand why, because in Bayern there is no Lewandowski who was Bayern's strongest weapon, he who scored many goals, on the other side we have City a lot strong and is playing with Haaland

City will win this game, this will be a good chance to see how Mane will do in bayern. Too bad I won't be able to watch the game
In the end I think both teams performed interestingly as it was just a friendly, and such one game as this should be a yardstick to determine how a player as Mane will do in Bayern for he has already made his first goal in their previous game. So the focus should have rather been on Haaland who did not fail to cling a victory for City as the game end 0:1 in their favour.

2737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto in Church. on: July 23, 2022, 03:41:41 PM
the pastor got a professional to train congregants on crypto. While boasting that such an opportunity can't be got anywhere

There are things needed to be clarified in other to avoid a second thought from people, i think using the word church here looks odd to me from your topic saying "crypto in church" i think this is wrong, first the reason been that you could have stated that a clergy man organises a crypto class, because saying crypto is being taught in church is wrong and i totally disaggree with that because it can compromise the standard and purpose of what the church stands for, another reason why i will stand against your topic is because you're making two wrong steps, first is posting about crypto on bitcoin discussion board, you could have use the word bitcoin or secondly make your post on altcoins discussion,  and talking about cryptos in general is a pool of shitcoins except for bitcoin.
First of all I appreciate your thoughtfulness in reminding me about where I was supposed to post my thread, but let me remind you that wherever and whenever cryptocurrency is mentioned the first thing that comes to mind of majority of people is Bitcoin before any alts could follow.

On the other hand my friend, whether clergyman or not, the whole truth is that the whole teaching took place in the Church, so I think you're just being too religious about the whole matter and rather diverting focus from the message the thread introduced to some irrelevance.
Thank you.
2738  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teachers deserve more on: July 23, 2022, 01:40:00 PM
Teachers are nation builder. Teachers are professional who are trained specifically to train pupils, students from kindergarten  to the terminal of education in any part of the world. Teachers are builders who psychologically and educationally trained to understand  the mental ability of every child to be what they can do best in pursuit of education.

Today's world of development call it engineering,  medical,  military,  religion  etc, are the brain work of a teacher. So looking at the human development holistically,  without Teachers the world would not get to where it is. It would be appropriate to say after God, the Teachers should be mark next for the ability to procreate and bring human to what they should be in the future.

In this sense it is up to say that teacher should be well rewarded if we need the best from them, no teacher no development as the case may be.
Teachers right from time have been well neglected in the society despite the indispensable role they play in the society. Without teachers am not sure any sector or discipline will be.

This less regards giving to teachers especially in the third World society has made many up coming generation have no interest in the teaching profession.
Let us uphold teachers to a limelight for they are like the light of every society.
2739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Crypto in Church. on: July 23, 2022, 01:32:17 PM
Cryptocurrency as a digit asset based currency is on a  daily gradually gaining the widespread acceptance as expected, looking at 2010 compared to this day 2022 the awareness and engagement has been tremendous and it's quite a welcome development despite the ban placed on it by few governments.

I came across a video that has made social media talking which shows how a crypto class was conducted by a church for it's members to be educated about the knowledge of cryptocurrency.

According to the source:
The video was captioned, "Crypto training. Proverbs 14:23In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty.'' According to the netizen who shared the clip, the pastor got a professional to train congregants on crypto. While boasting that such an opportunity can't be got anywhere, the netizen expressed joy that 'kingdom wealth is on the way.' In the clip, a projector is seen displaying a crypto trading chart while people listened.

Does this look like  a plus to the crypto community?
2740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countries have banned Bitcoin; Do you believe is because of criminal activities on: July 23, 2022, 12:32:38 PM

Most countries are giving excuses and  reason for banning Bitcoin is because it can easily be used to fund crimes.
But I think they are afraid of losing control of their citizens' financial activities because they believe being the ones regulating financial activities makes them powerful.
What are your thoughts
Without economic control in any government, just the Political alone can't wield the will of the government on its citizens and this the government understand and would do or create every propaganda possible to mitigate against anything that will undermine them.

"For those who control the economic aspect of the economy controls the political".
