Few seconds to receive the transaction. If the seller want to wait for a confirmation, wich is useless unless you are moving tons of money, then he has to wait for a block to be found, on average ten minutes.
2742  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So im new to bitcoin and the whole mining thing... Is bitcoin worth it? on: September 07, 2012, 11:38:24 AM
Mining is not a get rich quick scheme. You don't become rich with your computer.

If you are ready to invest a decent amount in good hardware (->ASIC) then there will be profit.
2743  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just started with BitCoins and I have a BIG problem with it!! on: September 06, 2012, 09:05:13 PM
I am already comparing it. I mean, if everyone use bitcoin instead of the traditional systems, then it will be much better. Mining is for bitcoin security, yes, it's used to pur bitcoins in circulation too, but it's main purpose is security, and well, security is and will always be expensive
2744  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just started with BitCoins and I have a BIG problem with it!! on: September 06, 2012, 08:52:21 PM
Mining is NOT a get rich quick scheme.

You want bitcoins? You go and buy them. You want to mine them? Well then you need to invest in hardware.

Earth situation? Bitcoin is much much much greener than the traditional banking/money system!
2745  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Apple, Now trying to Block and Stop: PROTESTORS on: September 06, 2012, 06:04:01 PM
Anyway what's the sense of patenting a way to fuck us all?
Shouldn't that be an open source system? Cheesy
Since when apple systems are open source???
2746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Three Pools Have Near-total Control Over the Bitcoin Network on: September 06, 2012, 08:17:03 AM
inform and promote p2pool

Tried it - rejects like crazy, much lower revenue in my 1-day trial.
Please note that a 7% like stale rate is fine on p2pool because p2pool stales are DIFFERENT from normal stales and are not useless.
2747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Entire World Just Found Out about Bitcoin! on: September 05, 2012, 11:09:12 PM
So if someone ask a ransom in dollar then they will ban dollar?
2748  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buying Bitcoins on: September 04, 2012, 02:25:16 PM
Scam detected.

He wants to invest 1000$ and can't be bothered to understand how mtgox works? Scam.
2749  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Its Official Pirate Has Defaulted!! on: September 03, 2012, 09:38:39 PM
Instead of worrying about how to go after people like pirate, how about worrying about how stupid people are to fall for such a thing in the first place?

If you give your money to someone you never met, who won't even tell you how he is investing it, but claims unrealistic returns, than frankly, you deserve to lose your money.
+1 This post pretty much sums up the solution to the whole pirate drama.

2750  Other / Meta / Re: theymos, please BAN all common IP sockpuppet accounts on: September 03, 2012, 08:34:53 PM
Guys do you realize that banning ip do not ban sockpuppets? Speaking about "sockpuppets are good or bad or if to ban them or not" is useless, since banning ip is USELESS
2751  Other / Meta / Re: theymos, please BAN all common IP sockpuppet accounts on: September 02, 2012, 05:02:29 PM
theymos, please BAN all common IP sockpuppet accounts.

...that is all.

thanks.
bitlane

<EDIT>
I should add, I have a previous account that I abandoned BEFORE creating this account over 1 year ago, after the Mt.Gox hack....as I got tired of the SPAM emails etc with user lists.
Do you realize that banning ip is idiot and useless?
+1
My question apply to you too.

Dynamic IP, restart the router and someone else will use the banned IP. Result: the sockpuppeter will keep make new accounts and someone else will have problems with the forum because the ip is banned.
Really you don't know that? The INTERNET DETECTIVE?
2752  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Question about mining - on: September 02, 2012, 04:19:04 PM
Other things can be changed. Don't know wich but timebase and transactions aren't the only thing

Ben Bernanke (pictured to the LEFT), Alan Greenspan, and various other bankers vehemently opposed the audit and lied to Congress about the effects an audit would have on markets.
Disgusting

edit: on that website there is an ads about "glasses make your vision worse" and "here is an inexpensive alternative" wich is epic bullshit.
2754  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Announcement] Butterfly Labs on: September 02, 2012, 02:29:22 PM
Just use p2pool, pool problem solved
2755  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: READ THE POST TRUST NO ONE! on: September 02, 2012, 02:26:14 PM

2756  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The saddest and funniest thing about Bitcoin is... on: August 31, 2012, 10:26:46 PM
The saddest thing about Bitcoin is Eternal September. (that started almost a year ago)

In the grim future of bitcoin, there is only war!
2757  Other / Beginners & Help / Did you backup your wallet.dat? on: August 31, 2012, 08:32:39 PM
You need to backup it before you put money into it. And then backup it when you create new address in it.
2758  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The saddest and funniest thing about Bitcoin is... on: August 31, 2012, 08:29:54 PM
They cashed out at 20$ and at 30$ too
2759  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: (PS3 possibility?) Clustering on: August 31, 2012, 07:43:52 PM
Excuse me how "clustering" them would make them better? 2 ps3 does 160mhash and consume exactly double the energy of one.
2760  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How did people fall for this Pirate scam? on: August 31, 2012, 04:10:00 PM
Greed, that's How. No matter what, everytime there is a ponzi, tons of ppl will fall for it. Mark my words, pirate ones won't be the biggest one. In the future there will be more ponzi (well that's normal) and moar ppl will fall for them (aka, more than 500k btc (yes i know that this 500k thing is not true, it's just for comparison))
I have seen this in EVE too many times, reading the pirate thread or reading the thread of any eve ponzi is like reading the same thing. At least on EVE once the scammer declare that it's indeed a scam, that's all, you can't sue other players  Cheesy While here the idiots who gave pirate their money hoping for 7% for week now are all like "let's sue him11!!!!1one"
