2741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about OEM graphic cards on: June 24, 2022, 05:31:50 PM
You might get a loud cooler blower fan instead of a quieter higher quality copper heatsink with multiple fans but the build quality is very good and they rarely get any issues.
I don't think the Radeon RX 6800 series have lower-quality coolers than the AIB models. This is probably the exception
If the problem is only in coolers, then you can remove the original cooling system and use video cards with radiators in closed cases. If only the radiators were of good quality with a sufficient number of copper tubes.
Give a link to the OEM video card store?

Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin has said he is "definitely" worried about centralization risks following The Merge, the event when the current Ethereum Mainnet merges with the beacon chain proof-of-stake (PoS) system.

The Ethereum mastermind noted that Lido Finance, the largest provider of staking services for Ethereum, where around a third of staked ETH (stETH) has been deposited, could theoretically disturb the Ethereum network post-Merge.

Bear market needs to get bloodier for mining to be fun again, right now the difficulty isn't decreasing, in fact it seems many miners are now smart because no one is turning off their miners yet or am I wrong?
The ETH difficulty is not decreasing by much (thanks to the difficulty bomb), but the network hashrate is down 16%:
https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

So people are turning off their rigs at the same pace as late 2018. This is looking similar to October 2018, where it took until December for the real difficulty crash to happen.
This is a normal situation, because miners with expensive electricity are starting to sell their video cards. I see a lot of ads for nvidia 3000 series, and few ads for 2000 and 1000 series. This will give us some more coins.
2744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Tell me your plan on: June 23, 2022, 02:24:43 PM
In 2015, one AMD Radeon R9 280 video card gave about 6 Ethereum coins per day. Even if I were to sell coins now, it would be millions of dollars. But then no one understood the value of these coins and miners sold them for a few tens of cents or less.
2745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Too late to start a mining rig? on: June 23, 2022, 02:18:25 PM
It depends on the cost of electricity. If you have more than 5 cents per kilowatt, then it will be more profitable for you to buy cryptocurrency.
I can get 5.3¢ power after tax for 100% uptime, or 4.0¢ for 80% uptime. That doesn't include the 29% tax benefit of depreciation on the equipment. I did the math: it will be 30%+ cheaper to mine any coin than buying it.
You have good conditions for mining, but you also have taxes. I don't know how you thought it was more profitable for you to mine. You don’t know what will happen after the end of Ethereum mining.
I think that you will get a profit if you hold coins until the next price increase. But during mining, you will have to pay for electricity and taxes from your funds, for maximum profit.
2746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Trying to sell GPu to PC gamers can made me lie on: June 23, 2022, 02:10:38 PM
Gddr6x graphic cards get hotter when mining than gaming, talking from my own experience, even if I throw a graphically demanding game like The Wither 3 on my 3080ti the memory temp won't go up compared to when mining Ethereum.
I played this game with AMD Radeon R9 280 or AMD Radeon R9 270 graphics card. This video game is not very demanding on top graphics cards. You will be able to play perfectly on GPU RX 470.In mining, the load is constant, and in games, the load changes, therefore, under equal conditions in games, the video card heats up less.
2747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about OEM graphic cards on: June 23, 2022, 02:04:16 PM
Is anyone using OEM graphic cards for crypto mining? I haven't done this before and I have some GPUs that a seller is trying to sell for me at a lesser price but they are all OEM graphic cards so what do you think? Are they the same with MSI and others?.
If the seller offers you an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) offer, then the price cannot be very cheap and you will receive a product with a lower warranty period. But sometimes the supplier can sell you a video card that is assembled from used components. That's the only reason the price can be lower. Not necessarily that this video card will be worse. But for example, in a month you will be able to buy a used video card from a well-known brand for the same price as the so-called OEM now. You need to take a test batch and check the quality if the price is favorable.
2748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Intel enters desktop dGPU market on: June 23, 2022, 01:54:50 PM
This is the perfect time to release new graphics cards Smiley A lot of Nvidia and AMD video art is already sold out by miners, so Intel will need to make a big effort to get their video cards to be bought, instead of cheap second-hand video cards of competitors.
2749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Tell me your plan on: June 22, 2022, 06:13:45 PM
BEAM is an underrated gem.

Next cycle will be heavily biased towards privacy... few people understand why.
I also mined this gem instead of ethereum for several months. And I really regret that I didn’t sell this useless shitcoin for a dollar. Now the price of this coin is 12 cents. If I have the opportunity to sell this coin for a dollar, then I will do it and forget about it.
2750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: It is now that is decided who is going to win and who is not (mining) on: June 22, 2022, 06:08:03 PM

I have seen a slight uptick on Ethermine. Most of my rigs are off right now due to the warmer weather. But I do have two rigs mining and will keep an eye on the yield. If it goes up by much I might turn the other rigs on again. Hopefully the weather will cool down a bit. But we have some warm weather next week. Not going to run the rigs in warm weather and then have to blast AC to cool the house down. No thanks. The profitability is too low to suffer through that and pay the extra electrical costs.

If price of ETH rises a bit, hashrate will continue to increase because small miners will turn their rigs again, in my opinion, it's just small miners turning off their miners or just waiting to see the direction of the market, if they mine again or sell GPUs

And who are the small miners? is it 10 or 100 cards?
If a miner has 1-10 video cards, then he is unlikely to turn off mining, because, as a rule, video cards are installed at his home, electricity is not expensive and there are no additional costs.
If a miner has 100 or more video cards, then he probably has a separate room where he pays rent and security. He can turn off mining, but the costs of rent and security must be paid. He will not wait for the price of cryptocurrencies to rise. He will either close the business or will have losses for a certain time.
2751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Too late to start a mining rig? on: June 22, 2022, 05:59:58 PM
Why buy video cards now when prices will be much lower in August or September?
The profit is very small, the return on investment is more than 18 months now, and after the end of Ethereum mining, it is very long. Maybe buy ethereum while it's cheap.
Even though I care about accumulating as many coins as possible, not fiat profit, it's a bad time to purchase a video card because I can most likely get more video cards with the same cash late this year. I also want to see if PoS happens this year. If it happens, that's good because video cards will be even cheaper. Then I can really collect ERG/FLUX/YEC over time.
It depends on the cost of electricity. If you have more than 5 cents per kilowatt, then it will be more profitable for you to buy cryptocurrency. You will not be able to compete with other miners. If Ethereum mining does not end this year, then it will be even better for all miners.
2752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Dual Mining ? on: June 22, 2022, 05:55:00 PM
If you don't want overheating of video cards, then use ETH+ZIL and ETC+ZIL. This is not dual mining, the pool disables ethereum mining and mines ZIL for a few minutes an hour when needed.

2753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Trying to sell GPu to PC gamers can made me lie on: June 22, 2022, 05:48:47 PM
I don’t think it really matters how long it was used. Would you buy an 6 month old GPU that was inside a poorly ventilated case where the gamer overvolted and overclocked and gamed for like 4 hours a day? Or would you get it from a miner who undervolted it and had it in an open air rig.

The only issue with mining rigs are the fans. They generally wear out much quicker than some gamer. Since gamers generally only play 1-2 hours a day, usually the fan doesn’t spin at all during that time. Compared to a miner rig which had it running 60-70% fan speed for years.
What a world, I am a PC gamer and also a crypto miner myself maybe that's why I understand so many things that many don't about PC parts and gaming, I use a high end PC for gaming and I always leave the case opened, closing the case makes the GPU go hotter and I don't like it, if I am only a gamer I may find closing the case a better solution. . .
Either you saved money on a gaming case or your fans are very weak. If you think that the video card in mining overheats more, then it depends on the miner. My video cards don't overheat because I use cool models without ddr 6 memory and good ventilation.
2754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Eth 2.0 can be delayed to 2024... on: June 22, 2022, 05:43:28 PM
You would lose money attacking the proof of stake Ethereum chain also. Dishonest validators get their ETH slashed.

This of POS as a voting system. currently only 10% of the supply is supporting the transition to POS and end of POW. we probobly will end up with 2 coins. Ethereum POW, Ethereum POS.
Ethereum POW=Ethereum Classic.
Why do we need another worthless coin?
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 profit is $1.24 ($0.05 per kilowatt). If the new Ethereum2 POW coin costs $100, then the profit with the TOP GPU will be 12 cents.
What if Ethereum2 POW costs $30 or less? Cry
2755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How are you coping with Gddr6x rigs on: June 22, 2022, 03:42:05 PM
A desktop fan draws between 45 and 120 watts from the wall, depending on the model. This is the consumption of another video card. I would put additional 80x80 fans on the side so that they only cool the video card.
2756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Death of Etheruem mining - Predicitions on: June 22, 2022, 03:37:32 PM
If you are not selling ethereum, but pay the costs with stablecoins when you sold ethereum for more than $4,000, then this is a better situation for miners who already have working mining farms. Beginners do not buy video cards and miners with expensive electricity are turned off. This will allow the old miner to get some coins before the end of mining.

2759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stupid or smartness on: June 19, 2022, 09:16:25 PM
But a graphics card can't be worth $0 like a cryptocurrency. Even the RX 580 8 GB graphics card can play many modern games and its price will not fall below $100 if it is in good condition. Even if it is cheaper, then what price will the RX 550 2GB have? RX 560 4gb? RX 570 4gb?
I agree with your general idea of GPUs having gaming value, but I don't think we are anywhere near the price floor for current-gen video cards. RTX 3060's are selling for $330 used today, but let's say they end up at $200 in 3 months if today's coin prices stay steady. That is a capital loss of $130 / 90 days = $1.44/day.

You will get $0.60/day of profit mining CFX at free power. That won't compensate for the $1.44 in capital loss. So the most profitable decision would be to sell that RTX 3060 today rather than take the -$0.84/day = $75 of loss over the next 3 months.

After I did the math, I came to the conclusion to sell *now* instead of riding the market down.
The math in mining changes every day.
With an Ethereum price of $ 1,000, you have a profit of 60 cents, but you can sell coins when the price approaches ATH.And your profit will be 5 times more.
2760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How are you coping with Gddr6x rigs on: June 19, 2022, 09:05:30 PM
Is anyone using RTX 3070 Ti or any graphic cards with gddr6x memory in a closed case mining rig or gaming case? How are you coping in this heating season? My 3070Ti in a closed case goes up as 90°C on memory temp while mining or gaming but if I open the case it goes down to 84°C, anyway to make things better?.

Have a read about mineral oil submerge.
You can also achieve the same with plain water, but you have to have everything ungrounded for the electricity to flow, this is expert level and takes knowledge probably beyond anyone in this forum, but mineral oil submerge is something you can definitely go for.
Now there is more choice of cold video cards. And for hot video cards, there are good closed cases. If you want to work as an electrician and plumber, then you can try this experiment. GEMIN_M4 case is not designed for mining.
