You are giving yourself too much credit. Sure, you intruduced him to it but it's only tobacco. Problem is that your friend don't want to be an adult.

Tobacco doesn't make anyone drunkard or make them wear rags. It doesn't make you misbehave or act criminally, drop school or anything like that.
And the fact he told you it was your fault just shows that he doesn't want to take any responsibility for his own choices like an adult. Like he wouldn't have grown at all.

I am sad to say but if he thinks that nothing is his own fault, and he isn't n charge of his actions, he can't really even start to fight the alcoholism he has.
2742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto payments for online purchases: Trends in 2022 on: January 06, 2023, 12:10:46 PM
Here is a report from CoinGate
https://coingate.com/blog/post/crypto-payments-overview-2022

I found the report very interesting. We all thought that 2022 was very bad for crypto as bear market continued for most part of the year. But so far as crypto payments for online payments is concerned, the data suggests otherwise. There is increase in total number as well as volume of crypto transactions. Another interesting data in this report is that bitcoin topped the total share of all payments. 48% of the transactions happened with bitcoin which proves that bitcoin is still the King of crypto even after we have thousands of alt coins.

Bear market in crypto doesn't mean that use cases would drop. It just means that price goes down for a long time. People who like to use it for payments still use it for payments. For some services it's handy. Like for VPN for example it gives one more extra layer of privacy. And people who like to cash out and buy stuff but don't have bank account to do so. Or don't want that shows in their bank account history.
2743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from BONK on: January 06, 2023, 07:08:03 AM
Update time
54% drop in prices in less than 11 hours.

It will soon be nearing 0 again from where it started. Hope this post helped members to remain informed and stay away from this shiny shit coin. If you still invested in this coin and are in loss, treat it as a valuable lesson for future. There will be similar launches in future which will follow exact same pattern so it is not hard to spot these.
You are already calling zero? Why? Shiba inu corrected itself -60% first days when it started to pump like crazy. And that pump was nothing compared to what was coming later.
And no, i am not saying that Bonk would do this too, but i must say i am wondering why am i sensing hostility against it?

It's a token with fair distribution instead of a money grab, that's model we should celebrate instead of attacking how stupid it is. It's for community, it's for fun. Sure, it can go to zero but so can everything else so why the hate?
2744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme coin caused Solana price to rise by 40% in a week on: January 06, 2023, 02:49:21 AM
If anything it's a sign the bottom is not in. We aren't -truly- in the bottom when shiz like this happens.
How many bottoms have you seen? Because i would like to know what are you basing this on... How this has anything to do with the bottom not being seen?
If some random token moons and people who got it by airdrop are getting wealthy, it imho only shows that investors are getting their confidence back if they are not instantly dumping it to markets..
2745  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Games' RTP, variable?? on: January 06, 2023, 01:10:30 AM
I think they do everything to make you lose, look at those people who are gambling, they all are broke and addcited.
If they all would be broke there wouldn't be any gamblers. Winnings come with the territory as same as losses. That's why people gamble. They wouldn't get addicted or gambled at all if they didn't win as well. Some people just don't have any risk management and they don't cut their losses but gamble everything. These people would gamble on high leveraged markets is there wasn't slots around.
2746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In search of reselling tipsters group on: January 05, 2023, 09:36:05 PM
Forget Telegram groups. You are in a good forum now with many tipsters about their bets for the day. Just pick your poison. What sports are you mostly betting on?
We have NBA. Lots of gamblers here who share their picks.
La Liga
UFC
and more...
Credits to the thread starters.
You will just be wasting money on those tipsters in Telegram as most of them are just free initially but in the long run, they will ask for payment even though their picks are not 100 percent accurate. No such thing.
You can save your money here and you get updated with recent news about your favorite sports.

Thanks, i was looking for something like this.
I feared that there would be only random picks without explanations, but i like the fact that some of them at least explain why they chose their bets as they are.
It gives the prediction instantly more credibility and depth. Because anyone can give random tips and then gloat how they were 100% right afterwards if they won. Even if they were secretly chosen totally randomly.
2747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from BONK on: January 05, 2023, 09:12:43 PM
If you follow crypto news, you might be aware about solana dog shitcoin called "BONK" is up 900% the past week . If you are thinking to invest in this coin, let me share an important fact regarding this coin. The top 20 holders 50% of the coin.

You can yourself check this here
https://solscan.io/token/DezXAZ8z7PnrnRJjz3wXBoRgixCa6xjnB7YaB1pPB263#holders

So, it is obvious that they will eventually dump it. Those who are investing seeing the dramtic increase in prices will loose all their investment when it dumps.
It's up 3148.01% in 7 days right now, i don't know where you got that 900%. But if dumping is so obvious with Bonk, i have to ask you was it as obvious with Shiba Inu as well? Because that didn't stop top $300M marketecap. I mean this didn't have an ido or anything. It's a reward for active people in NFT community.

I mean yeah, i admit it's stupid and risky to invest to something like this but don't underestimate how much stupid people can pump meme coins. Because we have seen this before.
2748  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people always speak good about the dead? on: January 05, 2023, 07:16:35 PM
I attended a burial of a well known criminal in my hometown because he was a relation. He was involved in kidnapping, armed robbery and all sorts of criminal activities. When it was time for the funeral eulogy, many people came up and spoke about their relationship with the deceased. All of them spoke of his kindheartedness, generosity, love, kindness, etc. Nobody ever mentioned about his bad character or criminal activities.

This funeral made me recall that I have never attended any burial where people speak about the true character of the dead. They only speak good things about the deceased. Are they scared to speak evil about the dead or is there a tradition that forbids people from speaking bad against the dead?
Reason is quite obvious when you think about it. People who hate that person don't often even come to the funeral, because why would they? They don't care.

There are only friends and relatives left and they want to remind themselves about the good things in his/her life. And that's completely understandable because they are mourning.

It's also for the same reason you don't yell in weddings things like "this won't last" etc. It's just polite behavior not to.
2749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet is chess matches? on: January 05, 2023, 07:02:11 PM
hard to really analyze the skills of chess players when they get to thier career where they are both known in chess. with only one false move, they could just surrender in a game that started less than a minute.
I would say it's hard to analyze them from games because they are so much more better then me.
I can analyze athletics even if they are better then me but when it comes to brain work, how can i analyze someone who thinks 20 moves before me.

I's say i am pretty smart but when we talk about genius level players, i completely lose the scale on how smart they are compared to each other. I might bet on some low level games though.
2750  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who thinks DCG / Genesis / Grayscale / Barry are bad actors? on: January 05, 2023, 06:54:15 PM
First sentence made me question him right away:
Quote
1) they conspired w FTX to attack Luna and steth and made a fair bit doing so
So we should believe him despite the fact that he didn't provide any proof of it?
This is pretty serious accusation and with that amount of people following him, there will be damage.
Which makes me think he might get sued for defamation, because it's hard to prove conspiracy even with evidence, and he just decided to accuse them without any ammo.

Even more, CBDCs are expected to hurt even more Visa/Mastercard profits...

Is it me or these guys are pretty much forcing Visa/Mastercard turn to crypto if they want to stay on top?

Good point, i've always known that current system will be replaced when CBDCs come but i sometimes forget that current money transaction systems are actually provided by profit making companies.

Which makes me think that they join teir forces, will create fud, and lobby against such a system and fight like hell for their own survival.

Next time i read a negative article about dangeres of CBDC, i will be thinking that this might be paid fud from Visa/Mastercard

Cash is king again.
The purache power of cash is great again.
-cut-

In where? Please tell us.
Because from where i am standing everything food costs at least 50% and 100% more and this has happened in a VERY shot time frame (during the Russian attack).

If your argument is that money can buy you more cryptos now and that's why it's great, then just think about earlier bear runs; cash money didn't lose value while alts were dropping.
So you can do the math how much have cryptocurrencies actually dropped in value.
2753  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: January 05, 2023, 12:57:15 PM
Even BNB is too dangerous right now, while a great deal of what we have herd about binance is FUD we cannot discard the possibility the exchange could collapse at some point in time, and if that were to happen it will affect the market in a massive way, with their coin being the most affected, so if someone wants to invest in BNB they can do it but in my opinion they need to wait until the bull market comes so they can minimize this risk as much as possible.

There has been BNB fud since the start of the Binance. Just like with USDT had fud from the start of Tether. Both of them are targeted to fud because unlike lot of altcoins they have one point of failure. And if that breaks down, it would be the end of them.

I am not buying the binance fud but i am aware there's always danger of CEX:es messing something up.
And IF binance falls, it doesn't really matter if you are holding some other altcoins, because if you don't have everything in fiat cash by then, you will be rekt.

Watched your video and i want to thank you that you actually explained this.
However this post could be so much better if you would just include screenshots and explanations in it, instead of having to use external youtube video. I know it's a little bit more work, but it would be worth it.
2755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing PiCoin - early mining! on: January 05, 2023, 12:29:39 PM
Those who did KYC are not thinking straight. Maybe they thought the price on exchanges where the IOU is listed is the real price. But if they knew how to understand how marketcap works plus the demand for a free fake mined coins which doesnt even can be count as blockchain will do. Im pretty sure this will turn out bad for those who are expecting it to be a gold.
It seemed like a marketing strategy.  Pi was listed on an Exchange and every body went wild once the price reached high levels.  Then Pi team says there is no Exchange listing and adviced the Exchange to delist the fake Coin.

Now a considerable amount of people know about Pi.  They previously knew Pi was a scam.  Now they know the hype.  They probably think it can not be a scam if there was a listing.  It looks like a strategy to wash previous bad reputation away and build a hype.
Word scam annoys me when it's been used vaguely, so what exactly was the scam part here then? They didn't get their money so was this about user data?

However people should know not to buy anything IOU. Exchanges set the value too high as in that way these exchanges won't make losses when real coins come and they need to provide the actual coins for the speculators.

Iou charts look silly Smiley
2756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme coin caused Solana price to rise by 40% in a week on: January 05, 2023, 12:12:58 PM
Good thing is you know that it's all hype and hype isn't something that's long-lasting. Whether it's good for Solana or not does not really matter because we are still in a bear market. I sense some sort of pump and dump scheme going on and members who FOMO out to be very careful with this or else the pumpers and dumpers will profit from you leaving you holding bags of shitcoins.
Tell that to Shiba Inu with a marketcap still worth 4.6 BILLION dollars. And how do you know if this is just a short or long term hype? There has been many cases when some altcoins have rised during the overall bear market. And BONK is just few days old. It's given free to active solana NFT projects, which i love as fair distribution.

Sure, rising 4000% in one week raises eyebrows but there can be many things that justify it.

Only thing i hate about this is their logo forced to look like generic 3d plastic blob made by cheapest artist ever.
2757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you heard of blockbank project on: January 04, 2023, 10:20:12 PM
I have been in the market for 2 years now
Stumbled on blockbank project when it got their token bbank listed back in 2021. I've bought and the market crashed and I bought some now since price is low
I've been watching the project closely I think they great potential
What are your thoughts about it
Googled it and i dont see anything revolutionary in this. Why would this be anything else then that has been done 100 different ways already.

Also teams who list their token on Bitmart as their first choice don't know what they are doing and that's a red flag for me. They would be better of keeping their token on DEX trading with just a contract address to be more credible. Listing to CEX isn't a good thing when CEX is known for fake volume (it was stupidly visible in the orderbook spread activity, low liquidity, high volume).

Also bitmart is shady as hell. If team doesn't know this, they are not taking their token very seriously.
2758  Economy / Economics / Re: [Article] Good job, internet: You bullied NFTs out of mainstream games on: January 04, 2023, 09:34:44 PM
People always mocked what they don't understand, especially when there's money involved and for something that's never been done. The combination/recipe is just too much and it was unavoidable.

I think success of NFT is tied to success of crypto, without adoption of Ethereum or other platforms that host NFTs, they couldn't become widely popular.

NFT is part crypto. It couldn't be NFT without being crypto, it's just a protocol for a non fungible token instead of normal fungible tokens. You make it sound like a seperate world.
2759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Islamic Coin, a Fact or a Delusion for Hype. on: January 04, 2023, 07:53:49 PM
1. Will this be acceptable by non Islamic users to also participate in using it as as a currency?
I think the proper question is, would this be acceptable even by Islamic users as a currency?
The audacity to assume that religion needs their cryptocurrency and islam parctisioners would choose them is just mind boggling.

If the video from their tiwtter accoint that man says that islamic coin is giving back to islamic community by donating 10% of mined coins will be donated to Evergreen Dell, and in their telegram there's a pinned message where they are warning about mining scam, that they never had or will never have mining. So i guess that's enough for me.

2760  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dealing with low self-esteem on: January 04, 2023, 07:28:21 PM
Self esteem is the way we regard ourselves, the values we place. Its normal to criticize ourselves once in a while, but where low self-esteem creeps in is where we constantly degrade ourselves or judge negatively.
Low self-esteem constantly leaves one feeling inadequate; always striving for perfection. This attitude can sometimes push one into depression, hopelessness and even entertain suicidal thoughts.

I've seen peeps who go out of their comfort zones just to lead a lifestyle which they believe is acceptable by their peers and lose themselves in the process.
This is so sad as most people dealing with low self-esteem find it difficult to appreciate themselves, always downplaying their positive attributes and abilities, regard themselves as inferior to their peers and so on.

Although there are ways to help peeps dealing with such a feeling such as
- building positive relationships
- appreciating and complimenting yourself and all that. But it's looking like it's not enough because whether we believe it or not, it is slowly depriving us of active and innovative minds that have been held prisoner by low self-esteem. Your input would be appreciated.
Choosing wrong people to hang out with is pretty much worst thing you can do your self-esteem. Luckily in most cases in life, you can choose your own friends.

But even in healthy relationships you still need to do most of the heavy lifting and emotional work yourself. You need to work hard on yourself and with your feelings for that healthy relationship.

People with low self-esteem often make the mistake of getting hooked on pity as fish out the complementaries from people around them. Occiasionally everyone likes some comfort but for people with low self-esteem that's like heroin. They still need it. Even more then rest of people

But as it takes away their problems and makes them happy, they get hooked, specially when they don't need to do any work for it. (except to hint and sort of beg for compliments), But not by asking, just by insisting how am ugly or loser, etc they think they are themselves.

This however is counterproductive as self esteem doesn't come from inside themselves. They need a another person giving it to them constantly. And in a worst case they don't see how heavy and taxng this behaviour is to their friends. Lifting someone up constantly isnt healthy. If they don't pull their weight, it gets too heavy and those new friends are sadly leaving too.
