2741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions/thoughts wanted: A coin dev intentionally devaluing a coin? on: December 28, 2014, 02:39:20 AM
It was never pumped. Also, one thing I forgot to mention in the OP is that the premine is as I write this 2000x larger than the rest of the available coins.
Shocked

Why would a coin dev intentionally DEVALUE the coin? Thoughts? Conspiracy theories?
No conspiracy found, it is just a shitcoin by design, up from the beginning. Geez You asked for opinions. Here there is another one. Get out whilest you can.
2742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will stellar prevail or go dead? on: December 27, 2014, 08:39:20 PM
I think it's gonna fell to 1k satoshi level. Then it'll be pumped and then it's dead.
All coins are pumped & dumped at least 1 time, some of them p&d 2 or 3 times.
When I collect some stellars at 500 sat level, then I've dumped them 1000 sats then never looked back...
Only once, or twice and more depends upon how many fresh coins are released each forenoon or in the afternoon.
I observed the current rate of daily new coin releases somewhat slowed down. That could result into old coins getting pumped up again.

By rule of thumb a secondary pump can never reach more than one half the level of the last one.
2743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of SHA-256 coins on: December 27, 2014, 08:34:36 PM
Peercoin.

There are no "currently hot sha256 coins", this statement includes Bitcoin itself.
The point regarding pure POW sha256 coins is blockchain security against fork attacks. Peercoin is safe since it is additionally secured by staking. Small coins cannot rely on any algorithms where monster supplies based on ASIC technology do exist.
2744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions/thoughts wanted: A coin dev intentionally devaluing a coin? on: December 27, 2014, 05:14:05 PM
Just looking for others thoughts as to what the reason could be.
Pumpgroup.

That is clearly a pumpgroup activity in shake out mode. You allready observed how the foot soldiers bought up the 10% below market dumps. They are rearranging for the next pump. Clink to your coins, they want to get rid of you as a participant in the next round.
Wagering a bet the pump was 8~10 weeks ago?

There was a nicely written tragedy popping up right before christmas, describing the inner working mechanics. That DOGE pumper has published some confessions somewhere, too. Nice reading, besides beeing some monthes older the scene still works same ways.
2745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Fork Bitcoin To Bitcoin-POS on: December 27, 2014, 04:19:01 PM
Or we can pitch it positively and say it's an experiment. But I'm not going to hide that my main motivation is annoyance.
Just why are you trying to fix a dying coin?

Since the Dev has left, and even Mark "Willybot" Karpelès stopped pumping it, just leave it to die. Try to let loose. Let it go.
2746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has Facebook quietly released their Payment system? "Altcoin" like competitor? on: December 26, 2014, 08:52:04 AM
Facebook is going to make itself look moronic the more it takes to accept Bitcoin payments at this point.
Why? Why, why, why?

They would be far better of with a fresh ZuckerCoin premine ICO. It's all Altcoin style, people will bait like crazy!

2749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: best SHA256 altcoin on: December 24, 2014, 04:02:50 AM
The correct answer is ColbertCoin. Especially if you only have 1 Block Erupter to work with. Plus, they should be re-listed. What's wrong with people? Don't they know Stephen Colbert protects us all from terror and/or fear?
How about buying a second Block Erupter, effectively doubling your hashpower? Used parts in good condition?

Ooookay, nobody in a sane state of mind buys hashing hardware, got it. Mining PPC as an alternative seems valid. I doubt a really small coin could risk mining on any algorithms that are dominated by monster size ASIC rigs. Same for a third or fourth scrypt coin.
One miner owning a monster rig could blow that 3rd/4th coin out of the waters, just for giggles.

That renders older specialized hardware fairly useless, except as a room heater.
2750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 23, 2014, 06:06:34 AM
12.5 XMR/min => 18000 XMR/day
at 0.001 BTC/XMR => 18 BTC/day

compare that with f.e. litecoin: 50 LTC/2.5 min => 28800 LTC/day
at 0.0087 BTC/LTC => 250 BTC/day

what we need is adoption, when adoption comes, the current XMR exchange rate is just ridiculously low.
There are 34,947,351 LTC
28800 LTC/day * 30 days  => 864000 new coins each month, or 2.41% new coins in relation to Available Supply LTC
(bleeding like a pig, but a rather small wound if compared to the p's size)

18000 XMR/day * 30 days  => 540000 new coins each month, or ~10% new coins in relation to Available Supply XMR

So the figure changes oposite down if you take in the different coin ages. Litecoin has more adoption, but no more any innovation power. That kinda suggests XMR/LTC trading pair on exchange sites.
If you are mining LTC, you are most probably locked in due to high hardware investment costs. Mining XMR is adoptable by everyone.

Guesswork: LTC mining will continue but we will see some inpour from this side, buying XMR, stashed away for a later day. That could start once the % dillution values of LTC are equalling XMR. Which Available Supply XMR would mark that day on a calendar? Not so easy to say, one day XMR will have grown out of it's dwarf size of 5325000 coins, but LTC just continues with 50 LTC/2.5 min. There should be some block halving down to 25 LTC/2.5 min somewhere.
2751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: (2015) FuelCoin will be bigger then Bitcoin on: December 22, 2014, 02:45:32 PM
FossilFuelCoin is next? lol.

FuelCoin has potential but to say it's going to be bigger than Bitcoin is pure rubbish in my honest opinion.

FossilFuelCoinDark and XFuelShares. Looking at Shittrex when that stuff will popup. Matter of minutes.
Expecting roughly roundabout 489 BTC trade volume.
2752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: (2015) Ripple will be bigger then Bitcoin on: December 22, 2014, 01:06:37 AM
Invest all your life savings into Ripple.   Shocked  You can be billionaire too  Cheesy
This embraces it. Perfectly depicturing the mutually exclusivity ... opposing redundance.
  • I can only invest my life savings for this, or for that. Cannot have both. If I transfer everything into Ripples, other investments have to go.
  • Banks allready know a means a electronical money transfer, and Ripple just recently arrived, as the last. Will it replace the formerly employed methods? Really?
Ripple can neither expand, nor replace anything currently in existance. It is not the next killer application.

Ripple might take over because people are tired of miners.
Miners are a bunch of good for nothings that create inflation and suck wealth out of investors.
This argument is more suited for POS, and opposes POW. Exactly my line of argumentation usually.
2753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: December 21, 2014, 06:11:09 AM
I like the idea of an internet of private things. What kind of milf my refrigerator orders is between me and my fridge.

Joking aside, it will be interesting to read the devs thoughts.
You can have the Milf I'll take the DILF. Cheesy
My refrigerator will hook you up, but he likes a more experienced woman to play with his thermostat settings.
Mine like to be experimented on. Cheesy
In danger of turning off toppic now (somewhat), "the things" did quite well during the last centuries. Without beeing all to chatterly between each others. The fridge humming in one corner, the oven frizzling in the other. The smoothing iron felt comfy on it's ironing board, kinda a hot love relationship, not needing any words.

Internet of things? Seriously?!
2754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple pump over and down you go! on: December 20, 2014, 07:26:28 PM
And why is there no mention of it on the ripple website?  Ripple Labs is a company, so surely they should be broadcasting this news everywhere.  not some single ambiguous thread.
They touch upon it a little tiny bit in the last paragraph here.

https://ripple.com/bitlicense-how-ripple-labs-approaches-regulations/
Bad news are not that well suited for broadcasting.
Conceptually forced to approach all kinds of regulations, Ripple will soon be the most overregulated currency in the world.
(oh dont start argueing if it is a currency, plz)

2757  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: HOT COINS 2015 [Long Term] on: December 20, 2014, 03:42:53 AM

Here are a couple of working nodes to try. These are just regular nodes, not official seed nodes so they might not be available at a later date

--seed-node 5.9.23.116:18080
--seed-node 198.27.64.122:18080
use like
bitmonerod --seed-node 198.74.231.92:18080
bitmonerod --seed-node 182.92.68.201:18080
bitmonerod --seed-node 37.187.75.56:18080

needed: some current nodes that are stable

trouble: what if someone doesn't want to have their adresses logged in a public forum?
2759  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Localbitcoins won't be available in Germany anymore due to regulatory reasons on: December 19, 2014, 12:02:05 PM
Wie?
Du bietest unreguliert regulierungspflichtige Finanzdienstleistungen an?
Sowas.
