For all .dat files in one go, start with "cat blk* |" instead I often use sort on large data sets, and can recommend to change the sort command to sort -u -S60% (assuming you have at least 60% of your RAM available). This largely reduces the need to write /tmp-files. Without this, sort uses only about 0.1% of the system's memory. Depending on how big the final list is, this may or may not matter for performance. |

That goes against everything Bitcoin stands for, and handing over private keys to someone else is the opposite of "security". - Sending, easy as a text: Make instant payments straight to your phone contacts, whether they use the app or not Whatever you're sending, it's not Bitcoin. Unless you're sending funded private keys, but that would be terribly insecure. - Private payments: Each payment creates a new single-use address, so even on-chain activity can't be linked, ensuring your privacy. There are no "single-use addresses" in Bitcoin. You can choose to use each address only once though. And transactions can still be linked on-chain, even if you use each address only once. - Secure by default: Multiple backups have you covered, with more recovery methods like social recovery in development. "Social recovery" is terribly risky. Backup your private key or seed phrase, and be your own bank. That's how you backup Bitcoin. - Despite being easier to use, it's completely non-custodial Why didn't you start with this? I have a really hard time believing you can do non-custodial social recoveries, so please start by explaining the technical details. syncing the wallet takes a lot longer and consumes quite a bit of data. To emphasize this: if you're going to use Unstoppable Wallet on mobile data, this is really something to keep in mind. It's on track now to consume more than 10 GB/month in bandwidth, and that's with only 4 coins in the wallet! I'm wondering now: does it download and check full Bitcoin blocks? It kinda makes sense for privacy, but I didn't realize it would be that much. If I'd use mobile data only, this alone would burn through my bundle. |

Also any DT1 member can now include him at anytime and boom I have a fully visible distrust. Which would mean I would have to distrust the DT1 member that decided to trust him. And bla bla bla drama drama drama. Two users already distrust him, and if his feedback is inaccurate, you can exclude him for your Trust list already. If DT1-members include the wrong users, they're supposed to be excluded. It's drama, but it comes with a decentralized system. Letting jvanname drop distrusts for poor reasons or no reasons weakens the system. He's not the only one, and I wouldn't say it weakens the system. It's just the result of not moderating feedback. |

Using scp How long did it take you to transfer the blockchain files to another machine? In my experience, scp is slower because it needs some time between files, and can't use compression. But for 100 MB files that won't compress much it shouldn't matter much. I had to look it up, it turns out both rsync and scp can use compression nowadays. |

My first campaign (Rollin) paid a maximum of 50 posts per month, and the pay rate wasn't that high, but I liked the site and stayed with it until it closed.
It helps to be selective which campaign you join. You mean if you had the opportunity to switch to one for 50 weekly paid posts for the same payrate or higher you wouldn't have switched? Correct. Back then, my payrate increased significantly after my first signature campaign ended. Or that you had that opportunity and didn't do it? I never tried to switch. That doesn't mean I wouldn't do that now if I'd find a better paying deal that I also like, but it has to be something I like. I think you would be the only one in the whole forum. The exception that proves the rule, which is that if you get paid more, especially considerably more for spending the same amount of time on the forum, people will switch. There are still people without paid signature. By the way, while you're at it you might add that you haven't changed your avatar until the deal has ended. What can I say, I like this one. I like it so much I wear the same avatar on 3 accounts (Mobile and Bot), while the offer was only for LoyceV. |

Paper back up as been excellent for me. But I do not like to laminate it because of it not to become obvious that the words are important. If anyone sees it convenient, I see no reason not to laminate written words on an exercise book because they do not fade. Having like two other backups. The main reason to laminate paper is to protect it from flooding, and this risk seems to be increasing lately in many places. If you're afraid the ink will somehow be influenced by the laminating hot glue, just fold the paper with the ink on the inside. Or write the same words on the paper a few times before folding and laminating. |

I don't really want to count, but how many of those votes are from DT1-members? I doubt it's 50% of them, let alone 80% or more. His negative DT-feedback is currently - 44, and that's not only from DT1, it includes DT2, which has much more members. |

We would then enter an endless loop of upvoting and downvoting. Basically, a popularity contest of who gets more DT1s to agree with them in a given cycle. The decisions made this month could simply be cancelled out next month or the month after that if the right or wrong people (depending on how you look at it) make it into DT1. That sums up the entire DT1-system  One way to mitigate that is a majority vote. But as you said yourself, the majority has never agreed on anything in the past. It still won't help for edge cases. See this example: The 2 top lines (red and blue) are theymos and me "toggling" the DT1 majority vote. Depending on the composition of DT1, there may or may not be a majority. |

One thing to keep in mind: when enabling Tor and "More Private" sources, syncing the wallet takes a lot longer and consumes quite a bit of data. After playing with it's settings a bit, the one thing I really dislike is asking for my PIN when I open the app. I'd like to only enter the PIN when I make a transaction. I guess I'll go without PIN, I only use shitcoins for very small quick payments.
The other issue with unstoppable is that there are a lot of shit coins that are very popular that it does not (or at least did not) support. How can any multicoin wallet not have doge? Yes it's a joke as a coin, but it's popular and used. It does on the other hand support many centralized coins. There's nothing "unstoppable" about that. |

There are 100 DT1 members, and I don't think there's ever been a majority vote from them on anything. Why? Because there shouldn't be a possibility that my 5 closest DT1 buddies can collude and remove feedback I don't want to see on my profile. But even if that happens for this DT1 cycle, what's going to happen with next month's change and reorganization of the DT1 list? Will there be new votes or is the decision made final? Maybe the "downvoting" can work both ways: give other DT1-members the power to "upvote" the removed feedback. And while typing this I realize this will just make everything way too complicated. |

I had a bunch of old paper receipts that faded in just few years Those are printed on thermal paper, and indeed you have to copy them if you want to be able to claim product warranty 10 years later. But other than Piper Wallet, normal users won't use that for their seed backup. |
