2761  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does implementing a tax on a gambling platform really help a country? on: June 16, 2021, 09:46:24 AM
I see a lot of threads here about some countries imposing a tax on gambling casinos. And each forum member has their own opinion about this type of topic.

Now I'm wondering, does implementing a tax on a gambling platform will really help a country?

- What are the pros and cons of it?
- What should be the proper tax percentage for you that they should impose.
- Will this be a bad thing for gamblers?

Also, are these governments capable of taxing online gambling casinos that we often use like stake, chips, etc...

I don't like the idea of a tax on profit that you made with gambling or betting. I know of course that the income of taxes is the engine that keeps countries running and enables investments into the infrastructure and so on. My problem with the gambling tax is, that the money that gamblers use for gambling was already taxed because, at least in most cases, they got that money from their job, which means they already paid wage tax for that. Now they risk this money for gambling because it's their hobby and for the case that they are successful and make some profit with it they have to pay taxes on that profits again. That kind of double taxation just sounds not fair to me.
2762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are meme tokens dangerous or moon on: June 16, 2021, 09:41:11 AM
This is a thread where we will discuss meme tokens that are unrugable and which can moon. We will detail steps to avoid being scammed. We will discuss signs that a token is going to moon. We will give updates on our offical meme token Jomon Shiba aka $JSHIBA.

For me all those meme-tokens that were coming out in the last few weeks and months were very bad for the crypto market as a whole. They took away so much liquidity and Capital away from real projects that it really hurt the market because it was pretty obvious that all the money that went into those meme-coins is not meant as a long term investment but for a chance to make some money by selling the meme-coin again before it starts to dump and let's be honest almost every meme-coin dumped pretty hard after only a short while and most of the meme-coins that come out today don't even get pumped anymore at all. Thank god that hype is slowly dying.
2763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 15, 2021, 09:00:12 PM
Germany is really at a loss with a blunder from Hummels...

if the goal does not happen then most likely the score will end in a draw, this time Francis is quite lucky. Germany is a team that is very superior in this competition, but luck is not with them in this match.

I think france deserved that win as they just had more good chances to score than germany and they even scored two more goals that were pretty close offside and therefore did not count and rightfully so. Of course it is unlucky for germany that the game was decided by an own goal but it is what it is. Germany had more ball possesion but that was mostly in areas that were not really dangerous to france. The game was pretty close overall and it could have also ended in a draw so it was definitely not a cakewalk for france as some people, also here in this forum, said before the match. I hope that germany starts with sane in the next game as havertz played pretty unlucky today.
2764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 15, 2021, 04:32:24 PM
It's ATP Queen's time.
Paire-Murray's a match valid for the first round of the ATP Queen's tournament in London.

Meanwhile Federer plays in the tournament in Halle, a tournament which he already won 10 times. In his first match against the belarussian Ilya Ivashka he had a pretty hard time but in the end he won in 2-0 sets with 7:6 (7:4) and 7:5. That was Federers first grass match since the wimbledon final of 2019 so almost two years. In this shape i can't see him reach the final of wimbledon again but i guess this would also be to much to ask as he was out for more than a year and he is already 39 years old. In Halle his hardest opponents for the title will probably be Zverev, Medvedev and rublev. I hope he stays fit.
2765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: another bullrun before 2021 ends on: June 15, 2021, 03:46:18 PM
I personally believe that there will be another btc bull run and alt run before 2021 ends.  what you guys think about it?

btc to 80000 or 120000 USD

I would definitely like it if BTC would reach 80k or even 120k this year even though i don't own any BTC myself (or only small fractions of BTC), but a high BTC price also means a high price for cryptos in general. I definitely think this is possible because you know everything is possible. Do i think it is likely to happen? I don't know because no one knows this right now, all we can do is guess to our best knowledge and act accordingly. What i can say is that in my opinion it is just as possible to have another bull market this year as an incoming long bear market as many claim in here. I would definitely prefer a bull market  Smiley
2766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 15, 2021, 12:10:10 PM

IMO, it should be a cakewalk for France. Look at their squad. It is one of the strongest sides in the tournament. I don't think that the German defenders will be able to tackle French forwards such as Kylian Mbappe or Olivier Giroud. BTW, anyone interested in the other match today (Portugal vs Hungary)? IMO, Portugal is a bit over dependent on Cristiano Ronaldo. If the Hungarian defenders can take care of Ronaldo, then I don't think that the other Portuguese forwards have the ability to launch attacks on their own.

If you look at the odds then it is pretty obvious that, at least for the bookmakers, the match is completely open as the odds for a win of france or germany are almost identical. Yes of course Mbappe is extremely dangerous to any defense in the world as he is so extremely fast but i don't think that the old and slow man giroud will be a big problem i guess that france will start with griezmann instead of giroud. If you compare the rest of the players, I don't think the German Team is worse. I mean in the central midfield they can choose from kroos, gündogan, goretzka and kimmich. There is not much more potential for improvement in terms of player quality.
Yes france might be the slight favorite, but it should definitely not be a cakewalk for them.
2767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Signature campaign increase ICO credibility? I see few good ICOs recently on: June 15, 2021, 11:57:29 AM
Does Signature campaign increase ICO credibility? I see few good ICOs recently using Signature campaign to promote their private sale.

Being a newbie, I would like to know your thoughts through experience.

The sad truth is that the projects that are really hyped and that everybody wants to invest in don't really need a signature bounty anymore because their pre-sales or public sales are already oversubscribed. That's also a reason why it is so hard to find a good altcoin bounty that is really worth the effort. But from time to time there are still good altcoin bounties to take part in. Last year i was part of the radix bounty and i am pretty happy with that decision, the bounty tokens are still locked until november but given the current price of radix that bounty was more lucrative than any BTC paying bounty that is running at the moment for my rank.
2768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 15, 2021, 09:42:25 AM
I didn't expect Spain not to score a goal. They started the game well but didn't have a chance to score. Sweden's defence was very good and Spain could not find a solution against it. The first game without goals.

Especially in the first half Spain was very dominant and would have definitely deserved to score a goal there. The second half was pretty boring then to be honest except for the last 10 minutes maybe plus overtime where Spain had some great chances again but the swedish goalkeeper managed to save that header from moreno. Overall Swedens defense was doing very well yesterday and the goalkeeper also managed to make some hard and very important saves and on top of that sweden was also pretty lucky to not have received a goal. Sweden had also 2 good chances and even hit the post but in the end Spain was very unlucky yesterday.
2769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polkadot [DOT] is a bad investment because it has unlimited inflation! on: June 15, 2021, 09:33:44 AM
I see Polkadot often mentioned as a good coin when people are asking for DeFi plaforms. But Polkadot is not a good coin, I found out after some research.
Please be caution, when you buy coins because coins are often praised and not mentioned about disadvantages.

Here is why Polkadot is a bad coin for an investment:

- Polkadot hat unlimited inflation, means, Polkadot has not a fixed supply where we know how many coins will be produced.

Yes it's true that polkadot has unlimited supply but that fact alone does not mean that it is a bad coin to invest into. There are other coins out there that have an unlimited supply that are still doing well like Dogecoin and also Siacoin. I mean if i was a Polkadot holder and if someone would ask me then i would also wanted the supply to be limited and even some regular burns on top so that the coins i own become more valuable automatically. Even though polkadot has an unlimited supply and i would think that most people know about that, it is already very popular and a lot of new projects are based on polkadot and want to apply for a parachain spot. So i think polkadot will do well in the future even with unlimited supply.
2770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: June 14, 2021, 09:06:39 AM
well, second best team is out so, congrats PSG.LDG for winning this Major...seriously, who can stop them?

So you were completely right with you prediction. I really thought that EG would have a realistic chance to beat them but PSG.LDG was just on another level in terms of group fights and also strategically. In the second match EG was up for the most part of the match but PSG.LDG was smart enough to avoid big group fights and waited for their chance. Then after they have won their first big group fight the momentum shifted heavily and EG had no chance anymore. PSG.LDG is probably the best team in the world right now.
Also i have to say, now that we have seen every team lose against them, that Nigma looked probably best against them even better then EG, so i really hope Nigma qualifies for TI.
2771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether FUD on: June 14, 2021, 08:58:57 AM
What are your thoughts on the Tether FUD? Is it something to be concerned about? Could it possibly bring down Bitcoin if Tether implodes? Even Vitalik has expressed concerns about Tether and he doesn't fuck around

The thing with tether and i guess the main reason why people have concerns about it is the fact that we can not be 100% sure anymore that every USD-T that is minted is still backed by a real USD. In 2019 they changed their official wording from "every USD-T is backed 1:1 by real USD" to "we have enough reserves to cover every USD-T that is printed and from that point on people started to raise questions. I for myself am also using more and more USDC now instead of USD-T because USDC is made by coinbase and therefore regularly audited so you can be sure that here every USDC is really backed 1:1 by a real dollar.
If Tether should really implode than i think the effects on the whole crypto market will be huge. Tether is the 3rd biggest coin in terms of market cap and if it will go down i can easily see the total market cap going down by 50% or even 75%. So let's hope that Tether will stay stable.
2772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New altcoins questions on: June 13, 2021, 08:20:26 PM
I am totally new to alt coins - trying to learn something new. I tried searching for this info and c as me up dry.

I was looking into a very new altcoin (will not name as I do not want to shill) and the white paper talked about a liquidity date named in the future. I am guessing this is when the Devs are allowed to start selling their bags?

They did a pre-sale and earned 10x their intended 10 BNB. How does this work? How do you find out about pre-sales and what is the advantage?

They are holding a huge amount of the coin (>95%) in a main account, being very transparent about it. They are using this to make social/community contributions. Is it normal to have the Devs holding such huge bags?

There are no humans listed on the site as the project team. Should this be a major concern?

Thanks!!

I think "liquidity date" means the day when they list their token on a DEX (decentralized exchange) which means from this date on the token is freely tradeable. I don't think it's the date when the Team Tokens get unlocked because that's usually wrote down in the vesting schedule and the tokenomics.

To enter a pre-sale you either have to be a VC with a lot of capital so you can make big investments which is needed to get into pre-sales or you are part of pre-sale groups like DuckDao in which you can invest into pre-sales even as a "normal" person.

If the token sale did not happen yet, then it is ok if there are still 95% of the coins in one wallet. In the whitepaper there should be a chapter where the token distribution is described. If they plan to hold more than 20% for themself than that is concerning in my opinion, usual shares for the team are between 10 and 20% and usually that tokens are also locked for at least 6 months but mostly for 1 year, so that the devs can't sell immediately after listing.

There are some projects that were successful even though they did not have a public team but for me personally i probably would not invest into such a project except is is a privacy project than it would make sense. So here you have to decide for yourself if this is a concern for you or not.
2773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too blind to see on: June 13, 2021, 08:01:34 PM
We are slowing going into bear market and many still don't realize this because of those 10% gains which makes the market looks bullish again but looking at the big picture it's clear that bear are slowly taking over, am I wrong?

Well the overall trend of the last 6 weeks or so was pretty bearish overall. So a 5% increase in price during a day does of course not mean that we are officially in a bull market now again. The thing is though that most bull or bear markets don't really come with a big introduction, they just suddenly happen. Therefore, at least in my opinion, you can not say now that we are going into a long bear market just because the last 6 weeks were bearish but you also can't say, that the bear is over and we are going into a bull market again. As longs as you are a normal user without inside information you can just guess and follow your feeling.
2774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: June 13, 2021, 12:37:44 PM

but still, such a massive dissapointment that Nigma are out. I was on the hype train since the group stage, thought Nigma were going to reach the final, easy peasy  Sad well, second best team is out so, congrats PSG.LDG for winning this Major...seriously, who can stop them?

I think that EG has a reasonable chance to beat PSG.LDG in the final if EG is able to beat T1 in the lower bracket final before. Even though i dislike EG because of the story with fly and notail that probably everyone is aware of i have to say that they looked very strong in this tournament so far and they even managed to win games where they picked heroes that are not part of the current meta gameplay. They only lost their first match against Vici Gaming because they exaggerated it a little with their unorthodox drafting in this match and therefore Vici could beat them but except from that match they looked stronger and stronger in each subsequent series.
2775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many scammers have you funded by putting your money in? on: June 13, 2021, 12:30:26 PM
I don't think there's no shame admitting that we make mistakes, that's where you learn from. Sometimes even with DYOR, legit looking projects turn out to be scams. And sometimes we just want to risk it.

During last bullrun ico frency 2017-2018 many people were saying that ICO scams are now over and next time people will be smarter. However now there are more scams then ever, especially rug pulls in uniswap and pancakeswap. We just don't call them ICOs anymore.

So i would like to hear your stories on how did you get scammed. Was it because you aped in without research or something else?

I kinda got scammed with my very first investment into crypto which was the ICO of Dimcoin back in 2017. Some known crypto expert back then said it is a great project to invest in and even in this forum the project was talked about and the reception of it was very positive. Thank god i only invested 150$ in it because i wanted to try things out how wallets and transactions work and so on. The ico raised 14M $ if i remember correctly and soon after the ICO the CEO stepped down and then quickly everything fall apart. A few members of the dimcoin team founded another company and i assume they took the money with them. So basically a total loss of funds for everyone that invested and did not sell off quickly once the coins were tradeable.
2776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huge profit but how to withdraw on: June 12, 2021, 09:34:24 PM
Hi

If i say i am from anti crypto country means withdrwals and deposits prohibited.

If i get a huge profit of 1million usdt. So how can i withdraw it, shall i move to crypto friendly country and withdraw or any solutions ?

First of all congratulations to your huge profit, if you come from a second or third world country then you never have to work again in your life if you don't go crazy and spend everything. If the amount of money is really that big than it is probably worth the effort to move to another country to get the money to a bank account and then you need to check if you can just transfer it to your bank account in your home country then.
I also want to add, please don't trust anyone who writes you a personal message now in this forum and wants to help you and is asking for details and stuff.. they just want to scam you be safe and never tell anyone your keys or passwords.
2777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How about the future of the market? on: June 12, 2021, 03:22:05 PM
Hello,
Currency prices are falling, but Is this decline continuing? What is the main problem?
Is it true that NFTs are the future of the cryptocurrencies?

Any idea welcomed.

Thank you.

No one knows what happens in the future so don't expect to get a concrete answer here from anyone which tells you exactly how the market will develop in the upcoming weeks and months. In my opinion the main problem is that we had a bull market for about half a year until the beginning of may and a lot of projects where overvalued and also overhyped. Then the tweet of elon musk came and his appearance on SNL where he said that dogecoin is just a hustle and because the market was already nervous at that point because the prices were so high this was enough to initiate the phase of declining prices which we see at the moment.
2778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 12, 2021, 09:01:47 AM
There was no surprise in yesterday's match and, as expected, the Italians defeated the Turks. The hosts played with great confidence and dominated throughout the match. The Turkish team focused on a counterattack game, but they didn't even have many chances for that. During the whole match, they only made one, missed shot. The Italians confirmed that they should be considered among the favorites of the tournament.

The result was not really surprising to me but i did not expect that italy would be so dominant or that turkey would perform so badly. The first half was pretty boring to watch with only like two good chances for Italy but then early in the second half italy finally managed to score (or turkey scored an own goal) and then turkey had to play a little bit more offensive which lead to goal 2 and 3 of italy.
I think that turkey could have played better but they were afraid of italy's defense and therefore played so defensively themself because they wanted to avoid going 0-1 down at all cost, but that didn't work out for them.
2779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying old coins: Is it worth it? on: June 12, 2021, 08:57:11 AM
With all of the hype surrounding "De-Fi" and NFTs, it looks like old coins like Peercoin, Primecoin, and Quark have been left in the dust. This is sad, considering that the aforementioned coins have a proven track record of stability and reliability. New coins are usually less secure than old ones. Despite the low interest/demand for old coins, they're still actively traded on the market.

I'm wondering whenever it's worth buying and holding old coins for the long term. Primecoin is one of its kind with a PoW algorithm that contributes towards the discovery of prime numbers. It's a pity other crypto projects haven't copied its model. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

I mean Bitcoin and Ethereum are also "old" coins and of course it's still worth it to buy those. There are also a lot of coins in the top 100 or top 50 region that are around 3 years old or even older like IOTA, Dash, Monero and Waves and i would say that all of these coins are also still safe investments as they are all still actively developing and improving their product.
I guess you thought about old and small projects. This questions is harder to answer and you really need to research the projects before you invest if they are still active if they still have a community or if it is just a dying project that slowly but surely moves down in the market cap ranking since years.
2780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: June 11, 2021, 01:35:16 PM

unfortunately I don't follow the national teams very much because the matches are extremely boring from my point of view, let's see I will give this European a chance

Pretty much the same for me here. I would consider myself as a football fan but i am not that interested in my national team (germany) as i am in my favorite football club (bayern) i don't know why that was always the case for me. Of course i will watch the EURO because i watch most good and big football games even if my team is not part of it, but to be honest if i would have to chose i would always pick another Champions League title for bayern over another WC or EURO trophy for Germany.
