Greenie alarmists? lol

GWPF studies cannot be taken seriously.  The charity founder (Nigel Lawson) has got ties to a gigantic coal-fired power station in Poland and lets not forget their academic advisory council member, Professor Ian Plimer, who just so happens to be a director to a large Australian coal company. Reckon there has got to be some conflicts of interest.

Would you really like to discount the science produced by anyone who has a financial interest (not to mention other interests) in the outcome of policy decisions associated with 'climate change'?  Just wondering.

No I wouldn't like to discount it, just bringing awareness to the fact that studies released by agenda-driven organizations is more likely to be biased. Same applies to both sides of climate change debate.

I don't like this picture.  The tall girl in the middle should be on the left side.  Ruins the entire shot.   Tongue

Check out girl third from the right Wink

Earliest use of fuck....

Quote
A British historian has revealed the earliest recorded use of the Anglo-Saxon swearword “f*ck.” Extensive trawling of historical tracts for the naughty bits found the first use of the word with its sexual connotations dates from court records in 1310.

The document in question concerns a man with the unfortunate name of Roger Fuckebythenavele, which senior research fellow at Keele University Dr Paul Booth discovered accidentally while researching the reign of Edward II.

Initially Booth believed the name was a joke made up by the court clerk, he told the MailOnline, but after finding the surname Fuckebythenavele three times he changed his mind.

“I think that shows it is not a joke,” he said.

“Either it refers to an inexperienced copulator, referring to someone trying to have sex with the navel, or it’s a rather extravagant explanation for a dimwit, someone so stupid they think that this is the way to have sex,” he added.

2766  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar - decentralized eBay on: September 14, 2015, 05:40:05 PM
It will also be much, much cheaper to use than eBay. I can't wait that they finish it though.

It might be cheaper and even better, but without the numbers or userbase it wont be much good. It's how I look at bitcoin. Obviously its better than fiat but it just doesn't have the userbase or merchant adoption yet.

Without some huge media campaign I think it will take a while to build up a sizeable OB userbase (especially to people outside the btc community), it took Ebay years to get established so I expect OpenBazaar will also face the same challenge.

Trump would take the US back to the dark ages, scary to think he could become the next president.

If this isn't part of the deal they made with us and our allies then how would voting against it make a difference?

This deal had nothing to do with us

It IS the entire inspection regime...hard to verify treaty when the folk responsible for that are also the folk in violation...

when was the last time Israel had a inspection? Smiley
2770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT has code which downloads your IP address to facilitate blacklisting on: August 20, 2015, 05:32:00 PM
yes, if bitcoin can repulse the Hearn-Andresen XT PanoptiCoin FUD panic and forking social attack we'll be in good shape for the next leg up  (and hopefully well shod of those two little ratbags)

this ^^^

andresen and his sidekick can fuck right off as far as I'm concerned, would be interesting to know how long they've been plotting to usurp bitcoin with this XT bullshit.

Photographs have emerged of the 18-month-old child killed in an arson attack by suspected Jewish extremists in the West Bank.

Goes to show there are psychos on both sides of the Israeli - Palestinian drama in the ME.[/b] Personally I think they all need to chill the fuck out...

Does evidence exist as to who the perps were?

1.  Physical evidence.
2.  A terror group claiming responsibility.
3.  Someone seeing something?

Just curious.  What facts are behind the assertion of "arson attack by suspected Jewish extremists?"

According to the Indy the perps were "Jewish extremist settlers," they also left graffiti there saying revenge in Hebrew:

Quote
Their house in Duma had its windows smashed and fire bombs thrown inside before dawn as the family slept. Graffiti in Hebrew reading “revenge” was scrawled outside, below a Star of David.

Far as I can tell nobody has been identified yet, prob just have to wait and see how the investigation goes.
2772  Other / Politics & Society / Anger grows at death of Palestinian toddler firebombed by Israeli extremists on: July 31, 2015, 03:04:23 PM
Photographs have emerged of the 18-month-old child killed in an arson attack by suspected Jewish extremists in the West Bank.

Ali Saad Dawabsha died after masked individuals reportedly threw two Molotov cocktails into his family home in Duma, near Nablus early on Friday morning.

The family of four were sleeping during the attack, with Ali’s father Sa’ad able to rescue four-year-old son Ahmed, who was burnt on over 60 per cent of his body, and wife Rehan, who sustained 90 per cent burns, but unable to find his youngest son.

Images of the toddler started to emerge as outrage over the attack, just over a year since a Palestinian teenager was killed, mounted online.

Israel’s defence minister confirmed the family had been taken to a hospital in nearby Nablus, but that they would be transferred to Israeli hospitals.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the “terror attack.”

He told the Jerusalem Post: “Israel deals harshly with terrorism, no matter who the perpetrators are”.

However, the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) tweeted on Friday morning that they held the Israeli government “fully responsible”.

PLO Secretary-General Saeb Erekat called for the international community to intervene.

“We call upon the international community to end its policy of empty statements and to finally do something to protect Palestinians,” he told the Jerusalem Post.

i'd recommend mullvad, they accept btc (first service to accept it) and they don't require any personal info when registering.    https://mullvad.net/en/

2774  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's the best Bitcoin debit card? on: July 12, 2015, 09:42:45 PM
None of them, i recommend you to wait until the big companies (visa/mastercard) start releasing those so no middleman is involved.

can't see that happening any time soon, mastercard aren't exactly pro-btc.
they've been lobbying governments for more bitcoin regulation so I think it's safe to say they see btc as a [future] competitor.
2775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralization and lack of authority as a weakness on: July 12, 2015, 04:48:09 PM
The thing Satoshi probably would have done, if he hadn't been frightened into the shadows, is integrate a voting mechanism into the client. The bitcoin collective would then steer and shape the currency. I think something like this is in the works now, so Bitcoin should be just fine.
Hey man, I think your on to something... color the fee coins so that only the miner the spender selects can claim the fee.  Make mining some type of proof-of-share, the miner with the most colored shares of fees gets awarded the next block...

Lots of holes in it... but kinda a shadow of an idea in there somewhere.

One method might also be integrating a Reddit like platform and adding a new "Community Menu." The client window would display a totally self-contained forum where users/developers/merchants could offer ideas and suggestions.

Then, anytime an idea gets upvoted to the top (replacing the previous highest upvote) it would be automatically implemented by the core team which is made up of chosen and elected persons using the same upvoting process. Until something replaces the highest upvote, nothing changes.

Lots of holes in it... but kinda a shadow of an idea in there somewhere. Cheesy

the problem with this sort of voting system is that it's open to abuse. someone with 100 clients could simply spam-vote their own ideas to get them implemented. not a bad idea though if it worked properly.
2776  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to convert Bitcoin to Paypal? on: July 12, 2015, 04:15:56 PM
I'm going back and forth with some guys about a customized Wordpress plugin and they won't accept Bitcoin. We all know that's pretty foolish of them and it's inconvenient for me because Bitcoin is what I've got, but Paypal is the only option at this time. What's the best way to convert Bitcoin into Paypal so I can get this thing paid for and then make them cry with my totally cool website that everybody uses for, among other things, paying Wordpress experts in Bitcoin to create customized plugins (LOL Tongue )?

like already suggested, your best bet is to exchange with a very trusted member on the forum and hope that they don't chargeback within 180 days. the virwox method is a pain in the ass, plus you'll be paying a crazy amount of fees. i'd also avoid localbitcoins if you're exchanging to paypal, heard too many horror stories of people being scammed.
2777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: July 12, 2015, 03:40:26 PM
Any time we want to get Ross freed, all we need is to convince Mom to require her property returned to her in court. The law she would use is 7th Amendment common law - which is not the common law of today, court cases - and the 9th Amendment rights law. These amendments are for people of all times, and were written before any statutes were made. So they apply above and beyond all statutes.

Smiley

or Ross could try and do an El Chapo and escape from maximum security prison (it's the second time he's managed to do it) :
