i think their definition of best is rather loose i'll reword for everone else what is the shittiest ico i can invest in that will pump to give me a profit but ultimately fail. i dont want good tech or coin i just want a profit. how can i make free money? thats the rough real translation i think that much was already obvious  no altcoin these days are even working on technology! and as a result nobody is looking for it either. everyone is looking for profit and where else is better than a shitcoin that goes to the moon for no reason like what ethereum did! |

the best thing in bitcoin that i have always liked and said is the decentralization. unlike anything else i can use bitcoin freely and anywhere i like. but with credit cards, paypal, ... people are always restricted.
on top of that the other thing that i think everyone agrees on is the price, and the profit that we can gain from trading bitcoin.

in the past 2 years that i have been buying and hodling and also doing some small trades with bitcoin i have made 3.5 times the amount that i could ever made with just investing in Gold so i say bitcoin is a lot better investment than gold could ever be for me.

i have tried short but i was never that successful about it, i made small amounts but i was so stressed and also worst part of it for me was the massive amount of time it took for me to do it. so now i am only a bitcoinhodler and i always go long much easier and more profitable. |

this is just my Analysis about ETH yeah i can say price is cheap now but you know what ? i think that effect Bitcoin price just remind you ETH has a good community i belive price will be recover soon..lets say in the next years  price of ethereum is highly unlikely to ever recover. next year as bitcoin price becomes more stable and market returns to its calm days, there may be some new pumps but i really don't think it can ever go back to its ATH |

it is surely resisting so far and i think it is mostly because of the reminder hype from before and there is a lot of lies talk of another rise to $1000 and crazy prices like that in the market which has made some fake buy support so far consisting of newbies buying into an illusion.

i have never heard about gnt but you certainly made a big mistake buying ETH because first of all you should never invest in any altcoin for long term because they are never showing any potential in long term. secondly ETH is one of those coins that may die some day or stay half assed forever. and every day a new bug is found in the code.
if you want to invest only invest in bitcoin because it is the most trusted, battle hardened crypto currency that you know is going to keep value and even rise in long term.
even bitcoin is not a 100% but if you give bitcoin like 70% altcoins are 10% and less sure investment!

decentralization as far as i am concerned means that nobody can tell me if or how to use bitcoin, i can make a wallet on my own, keep the coins on my own and spend them also on my own.
even if banks get into bitcoin they can not change anything about it and if they do i simply stop using bitcoin.
however all banks are interested in is the blockchain and making their own altcoin.

they will regulate it eventually and start taking tax from every business and service that uses it but it takes time and bitcoin needs to get a lot bigger so that the tax man sees a big potential of earning money there to even act on it. and who cares you can still continue using bitcoin and stay anonymous if you know what to do. |

Even if we have some idiots still don't understanding we need segwit, the price is still rising and we are soon going to pass 778. If we had segwit activating faster, this would be more fuel for our rocket and we would reach moon 10 times faster. But the upraise cannot be stopped no matter what. ATH in new year guaranteed.
this is also my speculation and i strongly believe in it. i say if/when the block size issue is resolved (with any suggestion not only segwit but anything that currently is available or may be suggested in the future) when it actually is accepted the price will see a huge rise and i will be waiting then to enjoy the ride to the fullest. |

I have interest on trading but since I know that any platform can really be risky without proper knowledge and guidance I prefer to shelved this interest for the time being.

majority of the altcoins won't even live 1 year.
most of the altcoins won't be around after 2-3 years.
only 1 or 2 altcoin will survive for some time and they will eventually die too because they are all bad.
if a new and good altcoin comes along it may be able to survive a longer time but in 100 years all will be dead even bitcoin is not capable of living 100 years. the technology in that long is not even comparable to today the same way today's technology is not comparable with the year 1900

why are we even excited about $18 difference i remember a couple of days ago when price was still around 720ish dollar bitcoin price in India was above $800 which makes it a big $80 difference. and there are some good exchanges like Zebpay there! or even localbitcoins. |

If you don't have any bitcoins your wallet just get some coin for you and fill your wallet, but don't buy bitcoin more which you cannot afford because nobody don't know how the price will be in next hour, as per now the price is good and may be many people are predicting definitely bitcoin price will increase.
Current prices are quite on the higher side if you ask me, but if you don't have any coins, and don't want to wait for the price to go down, then you can buy yourself some coins. However, it's wise to just use like 10-25% of the money that you can freely use for investment purposes. The other part of the money can be used in case the price happens to go down. If the price goes up, you'll benefit since you already have a certain amount of coins, and when the price goes down, you'll benefit by buying all the way down and lower your average buying price. You will benefit from the price going in any direction. That's how you as a smart trader/investor should approach the current volatility. Making profits is the only thing that counts. i say it depends on what you are planning to get out of investing in bitcoin. some people want to trade it daily or even in short term by buying low and selling when there is a flash rise and what you said works for them. but if you want to become a bitcoin hodler like me what you described doesn't matter much you should buy at once and hodl it long term. and of course it is best if you could buy in a dip because it simply means more profit but as a long term hodler and someone who can't spend time watching the market and keeping coins in hot wallet or money at hand it becomes tough to buy in dips. |

Since most of you here are that Bitcoin has not failed to deliver yet and BTC is still young and have the possibility to grow more , I want to ask you this ... while taking in consideration that SegWit signalling percentage seem to be very slow and there is a chance that It won't be activated , could we say that Bitcoin has failed to deliver then (after not being able to activate SegWit and LN with it) ?
again the question remains "failed to deliver what?" * if we look at bitcoin as a currency then it is capable of that at least currently wit this many users and the current block size. * if we look at bitcoin as an investment then i'd say it was pretty successful at that and nobody can deny it when price is consistently rising for the past years. * if we look at the adoption then it looks a bit disappointing but i wouldn't call it fail. * segwit even if it fails only shows that we have trouble coming up with a consensus that everyone agrees upon and then we have to start thinking about a new solution. |

I recently saw an article that says bitcoin could hit 2000$ with the help of the coming president trump.
A report by Denmark-based Saxo Bank claims bitcoin’s price could rise by 165% to more than $2,000 due to an economic stimulus expected from incoming President Trump. The bullish bitcoin outlook is one of 10 Saxo Bank “Outrageous Predictions for 2017.”
I never add any value to such predictions. Mainly because of the fact that 99% of the times they are way off with their predictions. Speculating about prices far higher than $1000 doesn't really make any sense as we are still a decent amount below the $1000 level. Right now we should focus on reaching the $800 level, which already can be seen as a more than difficult target. The fact that we are only ~$30 away from reaching $800 doesn't change anything in that regard. those speculations about $1000 and above that are usually long term speculations excluding those that are trolling of course. but what you are talking about is more of a shorter term speculation and both of them are valid as long as there is some though put into them and i never pass them if they are good and not a random topic of someone guessing. |

after every pump there is a dump and no matter how many times this happens, sometimes it seems line nobody remembers and next time there is a pump people start saying why price is falling.
i still see some users who are surprised by this drop and think it can recover and go to 1+BTC

altcoin scene is not seeing good days currently. we are in bad situation both in price (since they are all falling pretty badly) and also in development since the developers have been getting more lazy and more greedy at some point they all stopped caring about altcoins as a new technology and started thinking about money and pump and dump!
