2761  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Current/future Avalon owners - where will you mine? on: April 16, 2013, 03:50:51 PM
p2pool or eligius

Why not BTC Guild?
because they're dangerously close to 50% network power?
2762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is ripple claming simulatenous block confirmations? on: April 16, 2013, 02:17:15 PM
it doesn't use blocks.
2763  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to run 2 bitcoin-qts? on: April 16, 2013, 02:09:25 PM
set bitcoin.conf so they use different data directories, and listen on different ports.
2764  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin clients should have a MESSAGE option ! on: April 13, 2013, 08:48:36 PM
the blockchain is designed to be a ledger, not a place to put your messages. if you want to do that, feel free to create your own "message coin" fork.
2765  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: where to import 10000 addresses?? on: April 13, 2013, 08:44:59 PM
what's wrong with importing keys into a local wallet?
2766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Now Open] $1400 for >1.1MH/s Litecoin Miner -- Vorksholk's Mining Solutions on: April 13, 2013, 03:30:33 PM
So why would I want to buy this when I can just go out on the market and get me a system 10x faster for far less 1x 7950 costs around $180 so that's 360 or their about

then ram everything else...... what makes this any different from someone walking out to a shop and just buying them Huh?

I give you credit for coming up with a services like this but i wish you best of luck in selling Smiley

Basically, it's for people who don't want to deal with all the learning curve involved with Litecoin mining, and just want to get in on the action. For someone coming into mining, this unit provides an affordable way to get into the scene without the excessive learning curve of finding shaders, thread concurrencies, optimal overclock settings and ratios, not to mention the learning curve associated with trying to price parts and assemble a machine. We provide an all-in-one solution for a small premium. Smiley As to the pricing, I think it's pretty fair:

RAM: $70 - you can easily find 8 GB of ram for less than $60 1 2
Motherboard: $130 - why do you need such an expensive motheboard? a cheap motheboard with enough pcie x1 slots will easily suffice
2x7950: ~$620-640 - oh really? I can get 7950s for $270 ea after rebate, not to mention the free games that comes with it (which you can resell)
SSD/HD: $50 - just run the OS off a 16 GB USB drive
Optical Drive: $25 - why would you need this?
850W PSU: $169 - 950W 80+ PSU for $130 after rebate
Mouse and Keybord: $15-$16 total - you can easily reuse kb/m from another computer
Processor: $49 - you can get a cheaper amd processor for less than $40
Windows 8 OEM: $100 - use linux, or thepiratebay
Wifi card: $25 - wtf???
Case: $100 - $10 plastic box has better airflow
your design choices are questionable at best. not to mention the ROI for this machine is well over 5 months assuming no difficulty rise.
2767  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling 60 GH/s BFL pre-order on: April 13, 2013, 03:04:26 PM
i'll bid $1500 (in BTC), shipped
2768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin-qt using a lot of outgoing bandwidth, is this normal? on: April 13, 2013, 12:58:17 AM
this has already been discussed.

tl;dr summary:
it's normal, there's no built-in way of controlling it. partial solution involves setting the connection count to something low.
2769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: *.mtgox.com certificate expired on: April 13, 2013, 12:50:06 AM
mtgox.com = OK
*.mtgox.com = expired
2770  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin sell-off may be due in large or small part to BTC-E scam and/or hacks on: April 13, 2013, 12:46:28 AM
It's impossible to determine exactly how many coins may have been stolen or how many accounts hacked at this time since BTC-e has not come out with any information.

Would you trust BTC-E to give accurate information if there was any discrepancies ?
Does it matter? If there's no evidence, there isn't any reason to say there was a hack.
2771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: MtGox Certificate Change? on: April 13, 2013, 12:06:31 AM
it's expired
Quote
www.mtgox.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate expired on 4/12/2013 7:40 PM. The current time is 4/12/2013 8:07 PM.
2772  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: how ot start minign on cpu without gfx card? on: April 12, 2013, 07:06:33 PM
Retype this in English and maybe someone will answer your question, jesus
no, he's just terribly lazy and doesn't even proofread his work.
2773  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chatbans on BTC-E on: April 12, 2013, 06:53:17 PM
Disabling is kinda the opposite of what I wanted... which is to connect to other people who are buying/selling them, etc.

EDIT: Connect in real-time, that is.
no point, the chat scrolls by at lightning speeds, and everyone is spreading FUD.

use ad block element hider and add this to the list:
Code:
 btc-e.com###nChatCon
2774  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Beware of cavirtex.com WARNING! on: April 12, 2013, 02:07:41 PM
I deposited 1 bitcoin a few days ago and it wouldn't credit. sent them a email, and it was credited the next day.
2775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cheap Litecoin mining rig. on: April 12, 2013, 02:50:29 AM
or put it in a plastic box for $10

In Atlanta, plastic melts in the summer.

If you live in a hot location and are increasing the temperature by mining, you need something more sturdy, aluminum.
why would you operate your mining equipment in an environment that causes plastic to melt?
2776  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Building headless Bitcoin on Windows on: April 12, 2013, 12:21:20 AM
Great guide. Now that you're not a newbie anymore, consider moving it to "Development & Technical Discussion" so it doesn't get buried with all the other newbie threads. Also, is it possible to expand your guide to include building the qt client?
2777  Economy / Speculation / Re: And this crash was predicted a long time ago. on: April 11, 2013, 04:28:53 PM
1. predict crash or bubble
2. wait until inevitable crash/bubble
3. make a thread saying "I told you so!"
4. Huh
5. profit
2778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cheap Litecoin mining rig. on: April 11, 2013, 03:09:37 AM
I would opt for an open air case for better airflow.

Such as one of these:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/skeleton-torture-rack,2411.html

And add some external fans.
or put it in a plastic box for $10
2779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: these centralised exhcanges work really well with the concept of Bitcoin on: April 11, 2013, 02:11:30 AM
i think it's marvelous how you're a "hero" member in less than two months

Roll Eyes
to be fair, all of his recent posts seems pretty legit.

Be careful, and remember this is an international forum - at the very least, your forex charges could be through the roof.
foreign exchange fees on credit cards are only 1%-2%
