2781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of ETH2.0 Scammers on: December 04, 2020, 03:39:30 PM
Scammers will always find ways to scam naive or greedy people but upon checking on the Ethereum address that they used, it seems only 2 transactions were made that has 5 Ethereum on the wallet and it seems they failed to scam people.

The 67.2K Followers (scammer account) and the 1M Followers (the real Vitalik Buterin) are far different and if you do a little bit of research you immediately find out what is the difference.  Probably Twitter users have been learned about the recent scam happen and this is the same technique the scammers used.

It's obviously hacked or a bought account from the legitimate users just because of the verified badge.  Is there someone who reported the account to the Twitter team?

That's case belongs to this, https://help.twitter.com/en/safety-and-security/report-twitter-impersonation
2782  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US DOJ Extradites Alleged Co-Founder of Ponzi Scheme AirBit Club on: December 04, 2020, 02:56:03 PM
Well what do you expect, that's the long arm of the US DOJ, but as per report he is also a US citizen so no doubt that he will be extradited to the US to face the charge.

Just check what will be the sentence for money laundering offence, and it says up to 20 years in prison. So he could be looking at long years behind bar if found guilty.
Funny how they are chasing after this ponzi schemes when Herbalife and other prominent politician acquainted MLMs are still operating in the United States. You know that they will only attack those that do not bend to their will to kiss their bureaucratic ass. If only AirBit Club lobbied with this greedy cronies, they wouldn't have a problem with this.
I tend to agree, but the news shows how far the US government can extend their arms with regards to implementing their law and bringing justice to everyone.  It isn't new that these people behind such Ponzi Scheme can hide easily but if only the authorities of all the government around the globe will take it seriously then no one will be scammed.

And for whatever reason Gutenberg Dos Santos including his colleagues being extradited and will be facing the court now it is rightful to say that the US has never stopped nor neglected its responsibility to serve impartiality to everyone whether they came from a different land yet within their jurisdiction.

2783  Economy / Economics / Re: Valour Launches World's First Fee-Free Bitcoin Exchange Traded Product (ETP) on: December 03, 2020, 04:56:31 PM
Great news, thank you for sharing this.

This is another breakthrough for Bitcoin, considering that Valour also acquires bitcoin now as an asset and provided the Bitcoin Zero for investors which denotes that they are now embracing its worth.  The bitcoin zero as I see it isn't bad that they offer it with zero management fee.

Though I'm not sure if it will be for good or maybe just for the initial offering.  We can't tell if the US right now is also cooking something which could also lead to a better perspective towards bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies in 2021.
2784  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CryptoForum.org on: December 03, 2020, 04:32:45 PM
All suggestion above was right, it's quite easy to buy or create a domain website but it's hard to build a community that they will stay and getting interested to engage discussion in your forum.

My suggestions are very simple.
  • Easy to Navigate and well organize discussion thread
  • Simple design will probably fine, what I mean too many colors might be too much
  • Install SMF

Good luck with your plan.
2785  Economy / Economics / Re: We're just getting started," says Grayscale 's Michael Sonnenshein on: December 03, 2020, 03:53:52 PM
Sonnenshein's interview is already an indication of the positive outlook on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies IMO, and I see it as good publicity which could only not bring awareness to people instead it could possibly make people embrace the crypto world.  For me, any interviews or action that denotes the adoption of Bitcoin publicly either via social media or television would bring a good impact in the market.

With this interview I can definitely see that by 2021 crypto world will be more exciting and we could feasibly experience things that we haven't expected to cross along our way.  The All-Time High (ATH) that the most anticipated moment for all crypto holders is probably near since we're almost there and that could be surpassed the previous ATH last year 2017.
2786  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's next for Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2020, 04:56:52 PM
For now, I think the price of Bitcoin will still be going upward and will probably break the $20,000 resistance in the next following days.
I have doubt too that it will repeat the price in the year 2017 and there's a new ATH will happen. But as of now, there's a small correction of the price.

I would say, "Cheers" to all Bitcoin holders who exerted effort in waiting for this ATH to be achieved again and sorry to those who didn't wait, for patience is the key in this crypto world.  Now that we have reached the ATH in figures but not in value yet due to the inflation and purchasing power, I know for sure that there's still a lot of things that may occur anytime.

We all know that once we reached the ATH the number of buyers may go low because of the price and chances of sustaining it or keeping it in ascending trend will be lower IMO, during this time we are now more prone to a price dump since more investors would have think of selling their Bitcoins because of this ATH and any possible correction afterward which I'm hoping not to happen again similar as it was in 2017 after the pump was happened.
2787  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How Realistic is the whalebot alert? on: December 01, 2020, 04:36:59 PM
It's realistic for me but not a reliable source of information.  Any whales movement would reflect and can give you notifications however, it's not giving sufficient information about the movement like if the purpose of depositing is to sell which would have a big impact on the Bitcoin's price, or withdrawing it just move it from one address to another one which has no big impact to the Bitcoin's price yet those who will get notified may be alarmed for such huge transaction.

IMO, it would be better if you won't rely on the whalebots solely like what @TryNinja mentioned above.
2788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to introduce bitcoin who don't know.? on: December 01, 2020, 04:16:35 PM
1. Blockchain should be the Elective or Compulsory subject at University level.
2. Traders and the people who know about the Bitcoin should held the Events monthly and yearly basis.
3. Youtubers should make simple videos to understand the bitcoin or Blockchain. In all countries and in all languages. ( That's mean there must be a youtuber from every country)
I don't see any bad idea with OP's topic, in fact, I see it as for the betterment of the entire cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin which may lead to global adoption.

To answer the OP questions:

  • Ans #1.  Yes, it must be added particularly to the curriculum of courses that is related to technology, economy, and finance.
  • Ans #2 If it's for education and awareness of everyone then I tend to agree with it but should be limited to the information of blockchain and not with trading because the two came from different fields IMO.
  • Ans#3 Youtube and news right now often criticize bitcoin and cryptocurrencies if this is one way that would enlighten the mind of those people who are not willing to go to school nor any seminars to learn cryptocurrencies then I suppose this is the best way.

I suggest you go to your local aboard and seek information about the school universities that studying blockchain technology.  Or a piece of simple advice to google everything they wanted to know about Bitcoin.
2789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto Lived In London While Working On Bitcoin on: December 01, 2020, 03:27:09 PM
Not that it matters too much, but still interesting...
Yeah, Satoshi Nakamoto's whereabout doesn't really matter to me, I know he is the creator of Bitcoin and I should thank him for his invention but folks aren't it sometimes we are getting unfair for Satoshi that he already did himself from everyone.  Yet we're still doing research which would lead us to him and may reveal his identity, and will he be thankful if one day we were able to find who he really is because IMO he will never hide in the first place if later he will just come out in public, he rather plays hide and seek instead, just kidding aside.

However, I still appreciate OP for his will to follow and do this kind of research for someone like Satoshi because honestly for me I may not have time or rather not do it at all because of my priorities. Cheers mate!
2790  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best Software Bitcoin Wallet [IYO] on: December 01, 2020, 02:45:32 PM
best software bitcoin wallet
  • Segwit support
  • Lightning Network supported
  • Full open-source
  • Control over your Bitcoin
  • Basic privacy which is it will generate new address after having transaction

All of these features are on Electrum wallet, if you're going to ask me for the best software wallet, I'd go with Electrum.

However, there's no safe wallet at all, they are still vulnerable to hacking or even stealing your personal gadget to hack your Bitcoin.  It all depends on us how we keep our private key safe.
2791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This source reports that Chinese govt has sold bitcoins from Plustoken scam on: November 30, 2020, 04:38:53 PM
IMO, they will sell it but what confuses me is the 1% total amount of bitcoin in the market was sold in 2019 by Chaindigg and it is already back in circulation also, the incident with the Chinese authority has occurred in 2019 yet China just released the news recently.  I supposed there must be a conspiracy on this eventuality just IMO and I believe that all government will release such news in public right there and then since it will give a positive image and feedback if they do.

However, the news has come to us a year after the incident transpired which makes me think that they did it intentionally.
2792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Crypto users use VPN's ? You decide..... on: November 30, 2020, 04:13:20 PM
Anonymity and data privacy will always be the major concern not only with Bitcoiners or even crypto enthusiasts but also with other digital transactions.  In a digital world, we can't secure that all of our information and assets will be safe since hackers are always at large and would do everything to gain something for their own benefits and these VPN's can't guarantee that no data from their users will be safe and would have a leak for hackers.

We all know that in order for us to access their system we need to supply it first with our own private key and this must be remembered by their system for future usage and must be connected to our wallets.  So, therefore, I can conclude that VPNs do save data and information of their users which puts us and our assets at risk.

Especially, if you will use a free VPN, they are most prone to be compromised your security and also tracking your online activity.  I heard also that they might be selling your bandwidth.  However, if there's a difference between paid and free VPNs, I will not use them upon opening my sensitive information.
2793  Economy / Reputation / Re: Avoid dealing with these sellers on: November 29, 2020, 02:52:33 PM
The user in question has some negative feedback and a warning on top of the post for guest yours and perhaps newbies. I would like to confirm if you are able to see this warning on top of his advert: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5292775

AFAIK, this notification will appear when you are in a "Guest" mode, but when if your account is log in, the warning that you will see is the negative feedback under the user's profile name, including the flag that created by the DT members was a visible warning to all users that might be dealing with the said scammer's profile.

That's right, a lesson must learn, and next time, learn how to use escrow service upon dealing with random people on the internet.
Sorry for your loss and good thing you created this thread as a warning too.

By the way, I supported the flag.
2794  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is your unforgettable experience in trading? on: November 28, 2020, 04:40:14 PM
Experience is the best teacher, whether it's your own or other's experience as long as you have totally understood what went wrong and what went right including the things you need to improve as well as you need to avoid when things happen again.  Everyone has their own unforgettable experience in trading either they lose a lot or earn profit more than they are expecting.

As for me, it is also the same as with the others that when I was still new in this industry and the first time I traded I almost lost everything, it was somehow stressful at first but I just cope up by considering it as a challenge to me that I should not quit from trading and become a loser.
2795  Economy / Economics / Re: Black Friday ở nước bạn năm nay thế nào? on: November 28, 2020, 04:23:24 PM
How was Black Friday in your country this year?
This is the data that I have found regarding Black Friday in my country.

And the comparison in each country, or view the for the clear image.

source:

Black Friday is being held in the US the day after Thanksgiving which is being celebrated every fourth week of November each year.  Americans considered Black Friday as the start of the shopping season for the holiday where tons of sales can be found in the market both in an online and physical store.  The first Monday after Thanksgiving is Cyber Monday in the US where you can find lots of sales for gadgets and the likes.

I'm from the Philippines, the term Black Friday here is considered as a religious event which is the Holy Week for the Christian community.  Everyone knows that because of this pandemic people preferred online shopping instead of going to a physical store however since most Filipinos were impacted by the economic recession that they tend to lessen their shopping activity to make savings and spend it on the basic necessities.

So sheenshane would "hug and cry" game-protect? Or "kill him first then hug and cry"?
It's my bad and I'm misleading the description, I thought the toxic one.

Edited now, sorry and thank you for mentioning my name.
2797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fraud of the Century? on: November 27, 2020, 04:47:46 PM
It might I'm tired of listening to anyone who claims they are the one who created Bitcoin.  Whether it is Craig Wright or other individuals that will come out in public and claim to be Satoshi Nakamoto together with assuming that they had concrete evidence proving to be the real one.  So what, it doesn't make sense anymore since they have no control over Bitcoins and can't even make any changes or do manipulation on it, so better not to throw attention to them for they enjoy it much or probably, they earn from it.

Anyway, Satoshi created Bitcoin, he/she/(they) in the past but will never be the future, for it is on the hand of the of us (crypto holder/community) now on where it will go and what it will be in the future.
2798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Police Seize 1% of Bitcoin’s Total Supply on: November 27, 2020, 03:56:40 PM
IMO, it can be considered as good news knowing that the Chinese government is also after people who do Ponzi scheme with cryptocurrency that shows fair and just in implementing their law over the citizens and to the culprits of the society.

However, when the seized assets amounting to $4 billion of cryptocurrency with 1% of Bitcoin circulating supply in the market will be forfeited and go to the national treasury that may cause either a lesser supply of bitcoin which will pump the Bitcoin's price or if they will sell it by having an auction then Bitcoins value may dump.  The worst effect of this news could lead people not to trust Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies that might hinder the global adoption and become odd in hitting the ATH.
2799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you scared? on: November 27, 2020, 03:08:19 PM
It's true that most of the people that even they are aware of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are still afraid of getting involved in it.  Radicals like the existing Bitcoin investors can be brave enough to alter what they have been used to and gamble themselves with the new things that they are not fully aware of.

Well, it's like the fear of the unknown, or something similar. Only time could solve it, nothing we can do.
It's not necessary to blame those people right away because of their thinking like you've mentioned they are just afraid of the unknown and there is nothing we can do to embed everyone to use Bitcoin for their daily transactions.  Anyway, through time awareness and familiarization will definitely nurture and cultivate the society about the benefits of the entire crypto especially Bitcoin which we may consider as the absolute global adoption.
