2781  Other / Meta / Re: System to prove account ownership and recovery automatically - Demo included on: May 01, 2018, 11:02:36 AM
Seems like a bit closer to one of my proposal ([Proposal: prevent account hack] A complete new login system for BitcoinTalk). As long as we can automate the whole thing then the pressure to mod and the waiting time we see for the victim will be reduced dramatically. Bottom line is, we need automation PERIOD.

update:
...They probably look at when the passwords were changed, and they may even look at personal messages to determine if an account has been compromised through other means.....
It make sense if an account gets banned for suspicious activities or any of the forum mod lock the account, as an appeal against the action. If anyone lose their password or forget account details or someone gets locked for using secret question feature then an automation of recovering an account makes a lot of sense. Anyway I am sure theymos and other admins have their own choice for the best of the forum.
2782  Other / Meta / Re: Merit is a proof of brain concept on: May 01, 2018, 10:24:56 AM
I see a lot of posts in meta section moaning for removing merit or merit is not fear etc etc. Seems like they are trying to say, receiving merit is Impossible. Sure it's not easy but it not impossible, it's just difficult IMO. Guess what(!), it was suppose to be difficult or spammers would be receiving it very easily with their one line/ few words "thank you", "very good project" etc. type of posts. It would not have any difference with activity count.

Yes, your realisations make sense:
1. Activities to control number of posts
2. Trust is representing morality/ethics
3. Merit is a reflection of intellectual presentation

PS: I am having a feeling... I guess I exchanged slimier opinion in another topic long ago, not sure.

2783  Other / Meta / Re: Merits - An erroneous feedback system with no credibility. on: May 01, 2018, 09:46:09 AM

Hm.
I was thinking about Moufidoff and post from topic on page #35 and similar complain.
But also, he could be anyone  Undecided I won't break my head too much because of this, it's just another whining merit topic Roll Eyes So sad.

This was my reason
The message was just under Jet Cash's comment only for few minutes before user gilad215 removed it. Was saying about the amount of merits I received talking about merit. He was claiming 90% of my merits came from talking about merit.

Seems like one or some posts were deleted in-between my two posts.

Anyway it does not matter, who cares lol
2784  Other / Meta / Re: yall brothers need to chill with this merit bullshit on: May 01, 2018, 07:34:27 AM
Nigga mind your own shit. Go back to your hood and suck your mamas tits. You wasted your time here. Why are you staying here if you don't like it?

Ignore this one. @mdayonliner, even your role model is polite here, that should mean something for you. OP is complaining about no brainers like you.

You are one of those useless cunts

Contact with nullius, he is tasting a few in his zone every day.

Get a life!!! Go back to you mamas, you broken tap recorder.

I hope you are not following my advice, it was a joke. when TMAN talks like that, we don't expect anything less from him, but when you start talking like that, you haven't earned your place yet to talk like that. please don't treat people like that. everybody has the right to be here.
Seems like you are having an issue with me. If you have anything against me then spit it out. I'm open to hear you and please don't give me advise, I ain't paying you as my adviser not ok to take free as well. I chose my advisers wisely.

Update:
I like your style fella!
Thanks mate. Much appropriated.
2785  Other / Meta / Re: Auto-lock of topics after a week or 100 posts to solve spammer problem? on: May 01, 2018, 07:03:51 AM
~
Not a bad idea to lock a post after x amount of posts. Leave the unlocking to the topic creators hand so if they want then they can unlock the topic anytime then again autoLock after y amount of posts.
2786  Other / Meta / Re: How could I upgrade my Bitcointalk forum rank and how could I create Signature? on: May 01, 2018, 06:58:07 AM
You have your answers above from all these replies. In addition I would like to say, be friendly...

Accept this community as you own community and hang up, socialise with them like you do in your local pub. Always be constructive on your opinions.

By the way, welcome to the forum, hope you will have a great journey. See you around.
2787  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are centralized cryptocurrencies safe? on: May 01, 2018, 06:47:54 AM
A centralized cryptocurrency is usually safer for its users in terms of hacking, but how about possible Government restrictions?

Are they easier to ban?

ImageLoading...

So if you destroy the centre of A then all gone but for B you will need to destroy each and every node. For me A is easier and the same for others.

Update:
@mdayonliner (B) has a central body too, where did you get that image?
If those were Bitcoin Nodes, it will look like a haywire. (each dot should have a line connected to each of all the dots)
I took it from google and now realised it has been presented wrong. Just updated it.

PS: For readers, previous image was this one (<==== wrong one)
2788  Other / Meta / Re: yall brothers need to chill with this merit bullshit on: May 01, 2018, 06:40:08 AM

2789  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What is benefit of using paid API? on: May 01, 2018, 06:16:51 AM
Then crypto exchanges uses those paid API?
Yes they do. Running a business has it's expenses and cryptoexchanges are no difference. If you have an exchange where you have thousands of traders loading your pages millions of times, meaning you are sending huge requests for data so, yes the API providers will charge you.
2790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MetaMask funds locked in. on: April 30, 2018, 07:47:46 PM
Does this mean my funds are locked in my metaMask wallet? If not how do I withdraw my ethereum from metaMask because I cant withdraw anything until my first transaction is confirmed.......

Is there a solution for this or have I lost my funds forever?
You will need to wait until the transaction time expires. I assume the transaction fee was really low (although you are saying you did not touch the default). It happened with me once. For an ICO i wanted to transfer the fund but unfortunately the gas price was too law and I ended up waiting for over 6 hours to make a new transaction.

Just be patience and wait....
2791  Other / Meta / Re: This user is exchanging merit on: April 30, 2018, 06:41:12 PM
Red Flag
Here is a post about the topic as above, but it is written in russian
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3345422.0
I guess you still did not get me. What I mean is, cryptoMihail looks ok. The merit the user received looks usual but when I was looking into his merit senders then I found winterrose and valtin are exchanging merits with each others. And the exchange ration is 50:40. Check yourself.

Hope it make sense for you now.
2792  Other / Meta / Re: This user is exchanging merit on: April 30, 2018, 04:53:53 PM

I do not see enough evidence available from the merit history. Can you expose your ground for the claim. I see one user down the line suspicious though...
Red Flag
winterrose, exchanged 50:40 merits with valtin

cryptoMihail > dance2009 > winterrose > Go back to my 2nd line. This is how I discovered it.

Update:
~
LOL you are the one bought crypto____ on the table. So, members are now more aware  Cheesy
It was a good catch by the way.
2793  Other / Meta / Re: plagiarism report DT members needed on: April 30, 2018, 04:41:22 PM
http://www.swiftcointalk.org/   this website is copying threads and posts from our bitcoin talk forum
LOL that's another level of plagiarism from the view of a BitcoinTalk user. Only swiftcointalk administrators can do something about it. IMO it's a case like BitcoinTalk.TO (<=== DO NOT VISIT unless you know what you are doing) where we can not do nothing about it.

I assume most of the account hack we see now a days for this website. Innocent people think BitcoinTalk.TO is actual BitcoinTalk.org and they leave their username and password there.
2794  Other / Meta / Re: Unlocked account on: April 30, 2018, 04:30:06 PM
I have a problem, My account that was blocked, after trying to change the account password through the secret question,...
Another blocked issue for secret question. It really is concerning me as well. I really hope you get back your account.

EDIT:
Please advice how do I remove secret question since I already set up one  Undecided
Can you help me on this (answering) @hilariousandco please.

Good to see that MEW as an added option.
2795  Other / Meta / Re: Almost perfect English 1 post vs broken English all other posts, plagiarized? on: April 30, 2018, 03:48:52 PM
wow.. this thread is already on the website. They update fast!  Cheesy
I guess it's not updating, it might be crawling like google do, not really sure. However, I am sure that it's nothing about updating the database of their website.  Cheesy

2796  Other / Meta / Re: Identifying plagiarism if poster is active on multiple platforms. on: April 30, 2018, 03:43:01 PM
When Steemit started, many users were spamming this forum with Steemit links, hoping to earn from the link they posted. Most of these posts were considered spam.
Ok, I did not have this data in mind. My thought was to put a reference link like we do in any thesis paper.

Using...
Code:
[quote author="www.theURL.com"]...CONTNETs...[/quote]
...seems the best idea with 100% safety.

2798  Economy / Reputation / Re: mdayonliner's Red Trust removal T&C on: April 30, 2018, 02:16:24 PM
I am not sure why are you asking questions and trying to make conversation in trust.
Because the default answer of that question is: I will be a victim without doing anything and the community should consider me not guilty. It's an answer from common sense. So, it does not matter asking there or anywhere.

Furthermore , I do not want anyone do the same mistake out of confusion like you did and don't accuse me saying that I am a big hypocrate. My trust page is red painted (LOL) but I don't bother coz I know those red trusts are from non-DT. Also, those are out of angry mouth with no legit accusation. Anyone with a little sense can easily notice that I am not guilty for those redTrust. But your one was not the same.

No, they were not. They were abusing system from the start.
Those with bad intention they kept doing their continuous abusing but if you see my brothers one then it's not the same case. Don't you think I could send him some back if I had the bad intention where I see he did not earn any single merit. Instead of doing that, I advised him to improve his post quality a few days ago.

All these accounts which you are bashing because of merit abuse and your brother has sent you all his merits just to test how this system works.. Roll Eyes
If you see the individuals' merit history those I have listed on the merit abusers list, then you will notice I did try considering the early merit sending confusion period. I try not accusing them out of the thin air with not enough evidence (few I might miss, hey I am a human after all, sometimes these networks are too deep). I always leave reference so that my justification can be proved. My goal is not bashing people, my goal is to warn them. They are open to ask me for the removal of my redTrust and in that case I need to keep a log for me plus other members (possibly DT) that they have been warned earlier. IMO there are no other best place for the log but their own trust page with a neutral trust.

If you trust your brother(of course you do, it is your brother) why don't you trust people who sent merit to their family/friends/etc? Don't you think you should give -ve to your brother for merit abuse as well?
Trusting family/friends/etc and exchanging merits with each others are totally different, aren't it? Merit is not here for exchanging just because you know the people well, it's here to identify good posts and award it to that good posts. I knew my brother's intention so, why would I neg trust him. If his intention was bad then I would do the same like I did for all the abusers. I would redTrust him. Then I would replace the red with a neutral one to keep the log of the warning after he admit his abusing (I understand for you, it's hard to believe. I wish you knew me personally. I am man of my strong ethics). He saw a new feature and tried it out to see how it works. I am lucky that I did not send him the two sMerits back that I earned from his 4 merits or today I would had to leave the forum with great shame.

Don't worry, I removed my -ve(it is untrusted anyways so it won't affect you nor your brother in any way).
I was worried about my reputation not for the redTrust. Anyway well done.
2799  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: help me please - Notification about receiving coins on: April 30, 2018, 12:24:01 PM
I hope your problem has been resolved or just let us know which wallet you are using. Then someone might give you an exact answer. You can also talk to the customer support of that wallet company as well.
2800  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling Bitcoin! on: April 30, 2018, 12:20:08 PM
1000BTC(!) that's a big amount. What is your preferred transaction procedures? I do not think your marketing pitch is strong enough to support selling this big amount of BTC. Anyway good luck
