It's horrifying story I can imagine your feeling. I think since the amounts are big somehow they smelled may be someone else is trying to take the coins out from your account. That is why they are just trying to be more careful to save their ass plus in that case it's good for you as well. I hope everything is fine from your side providing all the info to them to verify. Interesting, because it seems like your thread is of a similar-vein. I'm afraid that too many people started using my format in a very careless manner that wasn't conducive and it has convinced the staff to change their tune towards these threads. I cannot operate my thread from within "Off-Topic", that board is absolutely absurd. 80% of the replies since it's been moved are Copy + Paste of my earlier posts within that same thread. Nobody is taking it seriously anymore, nobody is following the rules or actually submitting high-quality posts. The thread has been effectively ruined by the move, so I'm wondering if the intention is to no longer allow these kinds of threads. I'm just looking for an explanation, because I don't want to move it back and cause more work for staff, but I feel like my thread was doing more good than harm.
I never encountered your topic before today. So, was not really aware about it. I was inspired by all these slimier merit review topics. From my topic I am trying to achieve: 1. Encourage members at-least to have few constructive posts on their post history before they submit for review. This way they will in fact try to write few good constructive posts before they submit the post history to review. 2. I have a merit waiting list where I asked viewers to help me to find good quality contents so that I can merit the contents. The tweak was, you can not post your own contents. I wanted to see how this community behaves when you ask for something in return you do not give them anything back. The result was disappointing. I did not get a single response until I created this merit review topic and included a condition to find me at least one good quality content for that topic (merit waiting list). So, I believe the outcome we are looking at is not the same from the topics.
Update: If it doesn't involve a bitcoin payment then it doesn't belong in the Marketplace.

I really tried to spend one of my sMerit but really could not find a post that worth merit from me. There is one, the rainbow one but I noticed the most of the contents were coming from loyceV (if I am not typing the username wrong). I suggest try next time when you feel you have at-least 6 good posts out of the latest 10 posts. Good luck. |

May I ask why you're doing this? You're seriously wasting a lot of time and effort on this mate. You don't need to have a waiting list,because :
1. You'll see good posts all across the forum,not by everyone but a few members,you can merit them if you want or just do nothing. Point is you'll find good posts worthy enough of merits not only for now but in the future as well. Also,there'll come a time,where a lot of people will exhaust their sMerits,so be careful on that.
2. You don't have to do all of this. There are always much better things to do.
Hey mate thanks for the heads up. My problem is, I read a lot, I mean a lot of posts. When I read a good post, most of the times I forget that there is a function called giving sMerits. So I end up moving to read another topic or to follow up another posts. Later when I realise I should have spent some sMerit on that good post I read earlier, it's then too late. I miss it most of the time. In addition I really want to use my sMerits very carefully. I started from 0 Merit, I know how it feels when you are doing your best but yet it's not enough. So like me, I understand all those members who are struggling for merits (those who are producing good contents) need a bit encouragement. One merit is very important for them to create the next better content. We see a lot of merit abusing. Honestly it's disappointing and frustrating for those who are really trying to leave a good mark for the forum. By doing this, I do not feel that I am wasting my time. I like hanging out on the forum. Most of my time of my days, I spend on the forum, non-stop, I do not feel bored. I have few small businesses which brings me decent income where I do not need any monitoring so I have all day to do that I like. May be I will try finding something better than this once I get bored of it. But for now I am enjoying my time here and trying to make sure I do leave some value for the community and make some good friends. Thanks |

I really never had any bad experience with any mods although I see in some posts members are blaming some mods for deleting their topics and accusing not to reply them. I had this experience on the other day .... One of my post got deleted. Then I sent PM to the mod. I was polite on my query. After half an hour or an hour I got reply with the reason which WAS a satisfactory one for me. No hurt feeling, nothing. In fact in reply I encouraged the mod for the good work s/he done. I personally do not like chatting unless I know someone in person. For group chatting, you can see some of the Facebook groups chat, are flooding with links and links. It's annoying to me.
Not sure what others will say but to me, I am ok with PM and posting threads, I even enabled receiving PM from newbie. So it's open for everyone.

They are working on the new forum software. We may need to see what new we will be able to see. I do not see anything wrong with the colour pattern or formatting of the forum. I am basically got used to it. Changing a new format will need some extra effort for me to adopt. However anything better is welcoming I guess. I do not have a strong feeling for that though.

How is sMerit created for members who aren't merit sources?
Currently, the merit I have is from my activity over the past year, what happens when i spend all of this sMerit?
Are you serious  If someone sends you 1 merit, the 0.5 sMerit is not wasted; it is just not shown until you get another merit point. The post you shared means nothing without context, and there is no context to it. I updated my previous post with more information. I was copying from the main thread by theymos when merit system introduced on last Jan 25th. |
