An interesting question just popped in my mind:
How much kWh was used to create the current Blockchain?
Should be somehow possible to calculate it based on the given mining hardware and mining difficulty.

https://www.manager-magazin.de/unternehmen/bitcoin-libra-kryptowaehrungen-droht-verbot-der-europaeischen-union-a-2782a17b-64a9-4aa2-9f05-600fa8820f34

*hier gibt es einen Satz, der vielen Shitcoin-Erstellern nicht schmecken dürfte: "unless of course the coin inventor would also be the coin issuer".

Thank's  Grin
I had issues getting a transaction in the mem pool and verified on 0.16.0.3. After 45min i flushed the tx_pool, tried the same on 0.16.0.1, same issue so switched back to 0.16.0.0 and everything run smoothly in a few minutes. What i want to express is the fact, that if you make small tweaks in the main version (0.16.x) and this is not broadly used, you can not use the upgraded version as soon as you have the next upgrade to 0.17.x, st least that is my feeling after the weekend.

I bought 2000 XMR at $130, I'll be holding it for the long term. I will re-evaluate 3 years from now and report back to this thread. I'll keep buying the dips and hold at $70, $40, $10, $1, $0.5 if it ever reaches those levels. Just bought another 300 XMR at $102.

I do believe XMR will reach a minimum of $2,300/XMR and possibly even $13,000/XMR if not more 36 months from now.
Unlike other coins, it is the only coin that has practical use and is used widely today, it is #2 in my eyes after BTC (#1).

All other coins are pure speculation at this point in time.

Three years have passed since I made this post. I had sold 50 BTC and bought 2000 XMR at that time and said I will report back in 3 years.
The current price of XMR is $88.85. I took a huge loss, I haven't sold yet but it is a floating loss. If I had kept my BTC and not bought XMR at that time with it, I wouldn't have been -$386,084 today.

I still have high hopes for XMR, will report back to this thread 1 year from today.

It's annoying, sorry about the bad trade -

I think we will see Monero ATH in USD terms at some point, BTC maybe not as likely, but getting back to 0.02 or so seems possible.

@Q4 2020 late of November is the uprise, so don't worry, just hold another year and you will be VERY happy with your monerujo  Grin Grin Grin Grin

never used to be.  Didn't they shill dash once upon a time?

I recall them posting positive stuff about bytecoin and its clones which was complete crap. The coins were all from the same group.

Yeah, some trash or other.  I never went back.

I do not know many legit sites in the crypto world, hence everybody has a subjective view on things, so ...  Grin

I don't want to come off as a crazy old man but...

Coin Telegraph was started shortly after ByteCoin was "discovered". Apparently, ByteCoin had been around for years but was just found.  It claimed to only work on CPUs, not GPUs or custom stuff. It was a scam.

CT were proponents of ByteCoin and ran positive stories. Someone associated with them bought my CPU hash website (see above) and quickly added CT advertising which is still there. Why is that old, outdated site still alive?

Read this old post regarding ByteCoin and the related coins. There may be a few small errors but is generally correct.

I know that thread quite well, but thanks again for sharing  Cheesy
As i said, there are a ton of sites out there and the "coincidents" are readable but not prooven, so i think we should skip bytecoin as it has evolved to monero. As i recall an interview with fluffy he said "The DEV of bytecoin was brilliant but an asshole!" I think it is time to move on and leave bytecoin with the other copies of monero behind, hence those are nowhere near monero, so that is enough proof for me  Grin Wink

This is so dumb.... lol. If you were tracing people’s xmr transactions for the government, why tell everyone that? I feel like this is some weird over hyped tech that might trace a certain part of the xmr transaction but not as transparent as btc. Ciphertrace must be trying to outbid chainalysis for a Gov. contract. Roll Eyes

https://cointelegraph.com/news/ciphertrace-develops-monero-tracing-tool-to-aid-us-dhs-investigations

---quote---
“We assume that CipherTrace has developed a novel method to trace Monero transactions, but I am not quite sure of what they can do, so it’s hard to interpret the legitimacy of their claims. Saying you have a method to look at Monero transactions doesn’t mean this is now as transparent as Bitcoin transactions.”

“Not wanting your spouse to find out you bought jewelry for your anniversary is very different from keeping the government from tracking your illegal drug empire. Most people are simply looking for ‘good enough’ privacy, and I don’t think professional tracing capabilities affect most people in any meaningful way.”
---unquote---

In my opinion early transactions and sweep transactions, probably exchange info can be shared but that's it  Grin Grin Grin
