Is more reliable if you ask about features and improvements in the cryptoworld done by Vanilla.

 Wink

Does anywhere exists a tabular comprehension of pros and cons between Vanilla and Monero?

It has been discussed in poli troll box that a few users have admitted to running active bots in price-supression mode for VNL (on trex as well). Get cheap while there is no volume, because these cheap bots will get destroyed once volume orders pour in...

its too obvious what they doing

Yeah, they're selling mined coins. 40K/day, remember?

You probably mean ~24k VNL/day cause you must count PoS blocks and from that amount 17% goes to super peers so ~4k which leaves 20k VNL/day for miners.
And many of them are holding mined coins.

PoW bloks ~380/day
380x51.44=19.5k VNL/day
19.5k-17%=16,2k
so only 16.2k VNL/day (~2btc) for miners

Not all the miners are dumping directly to the market. Right now is very difficult to mine with gpu, fpga miners are mining vnl, and lot of them knows about john connor and road map, its nonsense to dump after mining....

but maybe 8k of those 16k are dumped...

Honestly i think the movement its a bot play, they are all the time buying and selling trying to get some coins from holders/dumpers.

And you can see sometimes, lot of kind of investors buying coins and again bots moving the price down to take cheap coins at lower levels, or maybe the bot's owners after moving the price low.

did you disabled proof of stake ?

can some explain me why  I stop receive reward incentive, in my wallet above 10k, and I got already few time ~8vnl, but now third day without reward and after I check console saw:
"collateralbalance": 0
thanks

If you closed and reopened the client, you have to unlock your wallet for up to 15 minutes until the network recognizes your collateral.  Then, you can lock it again.
but my wallet always unlocked, and staked rewards I receive.

I wrote some tickets with Tristan, and i talked with John in IRC, and john was in contact with Tristan, but he wasn't worried about this, and Tristan told me they had a problem with a deposit of a client, and they was searching for the problem, and to be "secure" until they find the problem, they increased the confirmations...

And..... finally you can see there isn't nothing related to VNL, maybe they found the problem and decreased confirmations to 1.

Vanilla POWER! waiting for Chainblender Paper!  Roll Eyes

The strange thing is that John didn't respond(maybe not important enough), when poloniex asked about the confirmations and now they have put it back to 1 confirmation because they don't think there's any risk. Worst that is likely to happen is the market will be automatically frozen for a bit.

215 super peers right now

I hold the view that no doubt, VNL is a great coin with the zerotime characteristic making it unique. But there is one thing which is a problem. The low hashrate signals that there is nobody expecting a substancial value increase.

There are many bagholders which do not show their willingness of a price increase, by maikng a pump.
Well, a pump could kill the coin, but a little uptrend, for example 500 btc volume would be nice and atracting new investors.

If I compare it to Clams, there is one major difference apart from the technical details and distribution mechanism.
Clams has this pretty well used just-dice website. Why not doing a similar website?

Hate to be that guy again but I'm having trouble finding a simple answer in the FAQs or anywhere. I have sent 10k VNL to my wallet but am getting votecandidate: False as a return with no wallet address.

Are there any instructions on how to fix this? presumably it's a problem with the ip address.

Also, has anyone had luck with the Raspberry Pi wallet yet?

291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNOFFICIAL] [VNL] Vanillacoin 0.4.0 RC3 | Instant ▱ Incentivized ▱ Innovative on: December 03, 2015, 06:23:54 PM
You says price is decreasing and blablabla. But what about if one guy wants to buy for example 50.000 VNL in one day, obviusly it will buy and buy and buy, and the price from 10k or 11k will be rising, and some people as well will buy, after that... price will go down, because there is miners selling etc, and maybe it will go down.

But the "point of view" you are saying is completely wrong, your argument is "its decreasing" because you are stating the difference from  the top of a day, and the bottom of next day. But thats completely wrong.

If you doubt... please explain me how can one guy to buy a big amount. Did you saw the ask depth in polo? If i want to buy 15bitcoins of VNL, it'll rise the price until 24k satoshis, and OBVIUSLY it will go down after... But you can't say the price is decreasing.

It is simply the NORMAL flow of volume for a "dried ask depth level". There isn't so much coins to sell, and some people doesn't wants to put their buy orders and wait them filled. Some people wants to buy, and if they are watching for long time, they don't care if they buy at 12k satoshi 15k satoshi or 16k satoshi, they simply buy and move the coins out of the exchange...

Please don't manipulate with your daytrader attitude trying to scratch 1k-5k satoshis buying one day at 12k satoshi and selling at 16k next week, and wait 2 weeks more to buy again at 12k...

This attitude is fine for you, but if you have 3000$ 5000$ or more to invest in a real, authentic coin, you just buy BTCs, and go to VNL/BTC and buy VNL, thats enough for me, i don't want to scratch some satoshis... Take that in mind, there is lot  kind of investors. But you seems like a trader scratching some kind of profits, 50$? 100$?

For me the best is buy and  hold, and enjoy the life meanwhile im holding & increasing my  investment with VNL Super Peers, and 6-12 or 24 months later i realize my investment has more value.

Regards!

aaaand back down again, this trend of going down never stops.

You are a pathetic loser and scammer. I urge everyone to look at this fucktards post history. He made a pseudo dev account for chips in order to dump on noobs.
made me $, who's the fucktard now Wink you must be bored bro, or do you always troll through peoples history?
i dont uderstand what your issue is, its simple math, if the price was 16,000sat, and now its 11,000sat, then its decreasing.
11,000 is less than 16,000 by 5000sat or 37.037% difference.
dont get mad at me because you made a bad trade and brought at the top.
you mind telling me any coin that has risen in a straight line mr chips
vanillacoin, from may - aug
and from aug - current, solid decrease. 10k floor seems apparent.
ill buy when we dip to 10k again, i mean after all the only reason for the rise was because some twitter dude mentioned zeroconf - its all hype.
a market that rises due to hype, will fall just as fast to its original value before the hype.

yeah and it doesn't depends from super peers, master nodes, network etc... the first limitation is imposed by the block size network... and it adjusted automatically...

Yes, sometimes i have been 48 hours without any reward, and other wallet with 7 rewards in 10 hours  Cheesy

yes you can stake and receive incentives, if you put more than 10 000 coins in your wallet.

if u look at the 4.0 RC3 change list  it says :

"Incentive collateral is now kept in a reserve balance so as not to be included in Proof-of-Stake"

Meaning that if you put 50 000 coins in wallet, only 40 000 of them will be staking.

You have to unlock wallet for staking.

As for getting incentives, you just need to unlock wallet for a few minutes until you get  "votecandidate": true
Then u can lock it back.

So it has been almost 24 hours and I have not received any incentives. Is it that my node it just unlucky and they will start to come in? I have received them back when there was no collateral required so I was thinking I should be getting them now. If I type getincentiveinfo in console it returns the following.

{
    "walletaddress": VbQJhtv6fRzxxsobYJNt7vdRp4XLRYJzSg,
    "collateralrequired": 10000,
    "collateralbalance": 10000,
    "networkstatus": ok,
    "votecandidate": true,
    "votescore": 12414
}

Does the 10000 need to be sent to a new address since this current address I've been using so I sent all of the coins to an exchange and then the first batch I received back was a 10000 coin input then I received a few others smaller ones.

sounds like you have it set correctly.  It isn't super unusual to go 24hrs without getting a reward.  Since you have "votecaidate: true" I think your best bet is to just let it keep running for now.

Are you using rc2?

I have noticed that I still have a memory leak issue - does anyone else notice their VNL wallet using more memory as each day goes on?

It would be cool a wallet for raspberry PI so we could create super nodes running 24/7 with low power consumption

Yes, i got the same answer from Tristan.

Good News Guys,

I asked Polo what the reason was for this 4 confirmations and this was their answer:

We had a bit of a scare with a deposit that was confirmed, but then disappeared. Eventually, the same transaction reappeared (so there was nothing like a double spend), and it looks like it was just a matter of less-than-ideal Zerotime settings in our wallet. We're nearly ready to lower confirmations again, but we're waiting for a final okay from the developers.

Best regards,
Tristan D'Agosta

Ps Could someone contact John or maybe he sees it himself

@HeartaStack your quote: I've always said polo is crypto mafia (just way more efficient and organised than the clowns at other exchanges). And of course they are in bed with XMR groups, that as we know are out to destroy VNL.

I think you were a little bit 2 quick 2 judge, but happily everything is okay Wink

I don't like pumps, i like steadily rise of the value due to improvements, adoption, marketing, community, exchanges, markets, etc...
Pump means dump, and that doesn't the way our community wants for vnl.

Anyway it has already been priced in in August so now we need something new to cause a pump.

As I remember VNL on Polo had only 1 confirmation, now it's four.

Does any of you know why?

It is 4 now. Oldmankid does not know the details of this change. Very strange.

OldManKidd: Stealthmode, usually when there is an increase in the confirmation needed it would be to strengthen the security of the network for the coin

We have to know why they changed it.

I have discovered and fixed a memory leak caused by Berkley DB leaking handles. While the documentation claims it as "thread safe" this is not straight-forward the case. It highly depends on your existing IO model. An example of Berkley DB not working in a multi-threaded IO model as intended: http://dossy.org/2006/07/multiple-threads-opening-the-same-berkeley-db-in-tcl/

Currently RC2 memory usage on Windows, Mac OS X and FreeBSD is stable around 300 megabytes running on the public internet with incentive collateral deposited. QA will soon begin on RC2 for Linux based platforms which should yield similar results regarding Berkley DB. :sunglasses:

Thank you for your support.
