281  Bitcoin / Mining support / tech question in controlling fans and temp on: July 01, 2018, 08:43:52 AM
Hello,

I have my sweet home mining farm in a separate unit.

This unit has a box fan (silent) to get in fresh air, and a frequency controlled rooftop fan to extract the hot air from the hot side.

Now, i want to build a controlling device that i can readout remotely, wich controls the fans based on temperature.

I do have a sort of setup, but its too coarse, and i have no readout.

The input fan is on a onephase speedcotroller that speeds up when the temp. rises, its set from 50% to full based on a tempscale.

The outut fan i set the frequency inverter at 50% min. freq, and with a temp controller (contact) connected to one of the inputs, it switches to 100% freq output.
Now this is too coarse. I actually would like to haveit regulated analog without steps, controlled by temperature. It generates an error sometimes as well, as the switch between 50% and 100% is too big, so i had to set the ramp up and down bigger.

Now, what im looking for, is a way to read and set it with ethernet connection so i can control it from everywhere, and preferrably readout the miners or awesome miner at a set temp. to prevent the miners being fried when something doesn't work...

anyone got some tips tricks or hints where to look for, or wher i can find such?

Thanks!!

Can someone tell me why my hasrateunder "workers" is different then the stated hasrate thats displayed in Awesome miner, and the miner itself?
difference goes up to some Th per miner sometimes...?

4th block in a row over 160% . . . .
something is wrong here

The probability of the found blocks is shown clearly on the Blocks page.

The probability of the luck of the last 5 found blocks is ... as it says ... CDF[Erl] 0.7670
Which means ... 1/(1-0.7670) = 1 in 4.292 of that happening or since it's 5 blocks, 1 in 21.46 blocks of that happening.
So yep, if you look at any pool out there what doesn't hide their block history, you'll find the current 5 found block luck happen, on average, about every 22 blocks.

After we find the next block, it will again show the numbers.
We'll see what it is when we find the next block.

probably will be little over 200%
It was 141.334%

so... If i understand correct, there is a sort of system in it, and not just pure luck?

Guys I have a $420.00 Bitmain coupon that sadly I am not going to be able to use.

So Kano users get 1st shot, I paid 100$ for it I will take $100 for it. No problem to use escrow.

dont want to be a party pooper, but im afraid you are too late... Especially if you even want (a lot of) money for it...

As far as I know you should not ask stuff like this in this thread.

I would like to recommend you what coins are good for mining, but you should ask this in the speculations or altcoin discussions threads.
we ARE in the altcoins section...  Huh
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Advice on Mining Farm Buildout on: June 27, 2018, 03:24:35 PM
I'm starting a farm too in a 1600 sqft warehouse. I'm installing 2x fans roughly 50cm in diameter for exhaust cooling, with the ability to expand to 4 fans. No raised floors because additional exhaust airflow is simpler, faster, cheaper.

For power, the warehouse I rented has 3 phrase 415v 40A wired to 6x 13A 240v wall sockets. The plan is to use the pre-installed circuit to 80% load, and install distribution boards with sockets on them, like these (but larger with more sockets): http://ssses.in/products/atm-db-panels/

This way I can plug the psu directly in standard UK plug PDU, and into the distribution board. Again, simple, fast, cheap. The money saved will be spent on more vega gpus.

yup, like the equal named website...  Cheesy

guys, what to mine best?
Where do we think the best mining profits are to be gained?
Will it be sha256, scrypt, groesl, etcetera.

After a long while mining with my L3+ scrypt miner i see that i only gain 100 digibytes a day.... That currently meand $2 a day... rediculous.
the best, are my S9's, making approx. $5 a day, which is crazy as well. What am i all doing it for now...

Is there a "best profit"scenario to mine? the "new" Z9?
innosilicon with rediculous expensive miners?

What are your tips and tricks?

i dont need profit right now, but halfway year from now, lets say august-sept some gains would be very welcome...

What to buy best, where to mine best, and what to do on which pool?

Share opinions and facts here please, thank you.

Be mindful and do your maths. Your money invested in miners would probably never ROI and better off using the money for miners to buy BTC.

Just my 2 satoshi..

depends...

at .1 BTC not that much of a risk i guess...  Wink

DGB the coin that is falling the most today. It's a shame that this coin is turning into a cash ATM for Asic miners. Soon there will be no hope and DGB will die before other projects.

but why is it dropping like a rock???
i have quite some of them and the value vanishes like ice to the sun...
dgb dissapoints me soo much right now.... Huh

It's falling like this because of Asic miners who are selling non-stop to cashout. DGB devs are not addressing the mining issue fast enough and this will kill this coin.

It is falling because of the whole crypto market going down. Thats all. This has nothing to do with asics... Completely nonsense!

Non sense is ignoring the problem with this coin. DGB barely recovered today, BTC is up 10% and DGB went down 20% yesteday and today it's up only 10%. In summary DGB is 10% down despite BTC going up.

Why? I'll tell you why, ASIC miners!!!!

a bit short sighted dont you think?
true, i mine dgb, as i have nothing better to do with my scrypt miner. But; mosd dgb i aquire are by selling btc (that i mine as well) and buy dgb...

i look at it this way: if btc would moon, it would get at tops 4x value of current value.
If dgb would moon, it would at least get a value of 5-6, and probably more compared to current valu, so best is to get as much dgb as possible.

293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why red again. It should slowly turn green on: June 24, 2018, 05:22:07 PM
Because crypto need to complete the bearish (downtrend) cycle, it is arround $4000-5000 and then we can think about new growth cycle Wink.

Cryptocurrencies: 1586
Markets: 11221
Market Cap: $239.020.581.330
24h Vol: $13.572.994.270
BTC Dominance: 42.2%

it could still go below $ 200.000.000.000 this month. personally I would not be surprised. it's a very bad year so far. and now comes the summer where hardly any people will buy token

I do not think the situation will be as bad as you say, increases and decreases are always actions that show the correction of the market, that makes the market more balanced, more people will get more opportunities to invest but everything will have a certain limit. That means the market if it goes down as seriously as you say, investors will not continue this game because calculated so far, many people have lost a lot of money, if they receive a larger loss, they will not come back, whales will no longer have small fish to make money, they will be hungry and I believe they will not do that stupid thing

dinosaurs are extincted also, so why not the big whales? they might be just as stupid...

Yep, and I think a good number of big(ger) mines is going down \ bankrupt within the next coming months.

They just have to keep dumping (manipulating) the prices further down. The lower the volume the easier.
Right now people just keep buying the Bitmain gear and don't want to see the whole picture.

If they have the guts to pull this trick till the end of this year, the damage will be great.
Remember how hard BTC did go down at the moment the BTC futures where live?
Well, the LTC futures are coming any moment. So do the math...
GOX coins still need to be sold in this low volume dump market...
I guess some more exchanges will get hacked...

In my opinion we only can go one way. But that is what they wanted for this year.

The extreme rise of last year was manipulated (we all know about Tether) and what is happening now is one big game show where a good number of the market needs to brought down.

The are simple to many chickens in the shed right now.

yup. Seems a viable explanation...

This chicken is only going to buy more gear, especially when its getting dumped on the market due big boys quitting / bankrupting mining... Smiley

Good decision. More and more people should do this. Better for the coin.

Yup, thats what I am saying that economic market forces should make sense in a free market. As opposed to saying that some country/person/company is responsible for it.

Noted on the large holders, but I still can't figure why the supply at low prices are not drying up.

My small uneducated and not experienced guess is that there are still enough people that bail out because they OR need the money, OR completely have lost faith and step out.

I have to admit that i get grumpy also when i mine the hell out of it, and see my portofolio only drop in value while adding coin(s).
To me, most fun of it IS gone... And i do it for fun and profit, i dont need the money. So i can imagine there are a lot where the water level reaches higher to the lips, and bail out...

Figured that logic. So its all just real luck, and prone to happen more when BTC rises huge in price, resulting in initiating higher transaction fees...  Grin

Thanks. Learning every day  Cool

When you send a transaction to somewhere else, you decide what transaction fee to add to it.  In the case of the exchanges, they make it simpler by picking the highest value (quickest confirm time) for you.  If you want your money moved quickly, you need to put a higher fee so that the miners pick it up right away.  If there are a lot of transactions waiting, that transaction money keeps getting higher to get over the top of everyone else.  As we mine, Kano's software picks out the best transactions for us to use in our mining.  Once we get the block, all the transaction fees get added to our mining proceeds.  So the net effect is that when bitcoin is active (more marketing hype perhaps), we get paid a lot more per block we find.

Thanks for explaining, again very clear, thank you.

Only thing i wonder: i didn't know that on forehand one could see how fat a block is, as everyone would pick the fattest blocks first?
