2 day tracking show that the Gridseeds I ordered will be delivered to me on Tuesday. Smiley

Hey Zoom, did you see my PM about the controller?

Thanks!

Instead of trying to remove the solder mask and risk damaging the traces even further, an easier fix is to follow the traces to a component and solder the wires to that instead.

Thats actually a good idea. The +5 and ground look to make their way to one side of two diodes (which would be easy to solder too) and the two data lines go to what looks like a ferrite bead or a chock coil or something.

I've got a few on order. I'll be happy to pos/neg here within the next week or so...

I've got two BE Cubes that would stop hashing if it got too cold in the garage (in the teens F). We've had a pretty cold (for Texas) winter this year so I've had to reboot them a lot.

as some one else mentioned the pads were ripped off but the traces are still there. What I would do is scrape the solder mask off of the traces and solder a USB extension cable to whats left. Secure the cable to the board so the connections wont break off (maybe use hot glue to cover/protect them) which will leave you with a 2-3 inch female cable hanging off of the board.

Where are you located? If your local to me I'll fix it for free.

I've made it a point to take a good look at ALL of the large miners I've recently purchased. All 4 of the 60ghs Avalons I received in 10/2013 had loose screws on the hashing modules. ALL of the Antminers S1's I've received over the last few months have all had loose screws on the hashing modules. I wouldnt be surprised if something came loose in shipping on these CT's. You might want to check that out.

Do I need some kind of PSU if I plan on running 2-3 of these?
Price for shipping to Los Angeles, CA please

Using a computer PSU is not suitable because the voltage and amps are different, though someone in china has done it, you have to hack up your PSU and do lots of soldering to add capacitors and what not.

Not sure how using a 1000w gold or platinum computer PSU would be a problem here. Unless of course your only loading it with one or two of these miners and running them in scrypt mode only. I would think that the load from 10-20 of these would be more than enough to keep any good PC power supply happy.

The thing about the caps confuses me too. The output from good power supplies is about as clean as its going to get. Adding more caps on the output isnt going to do anything other then adding a capacative load to the supply.

But, bottom line is that these things are in fact very cool! If they can deliver the numbers quoted here we can finally be free of GPU mining once and for all.

very cool!

I imagine that these things run fairly cool when in scrypt only mode?

this thread is inspiring but making me jealous at the same time  Undecided lol

You and me both. Also reminds me that the difficulty is about to ramp up something fierce.

It's just a nightmare to have 3 antminners that I've waiting profusely for come and i spent over two nights now trying to set this up, ninjatech hopped on teamviewer and took remote control and still could not figure it out, my setup is fucked and i just stare at these boxes.... it sucks for me.

what is it doing?

Not mining from what I've read. Smiley

Hmm... I guess its not that easy to ping a pools address. Just tried it on my MBP and it couldnt resolve the address.

If you can get on the internet you should be able to mine with these things unless the pools port that your trying to connect to is blocked. Have you checked to see that you can ping the pools address from a computer? I dont know how to do that but I'm assuming its as simple as "ping xxxxxxxxx:3300" or whatever it is.

FWIW, I have to set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 on my ants at one of my two mining locations to make them connect and mine. If I set the static addresses like I "think" I should they dont mine. I can connect to them all day long but they will not mine. I've tried using my real world DNS as the entry and it doesnt work.

Try googles DNS address and see if that works.

test bench? WTH? Wonder what she's "testing" with that setup?

Lesson learned on my end.

This guy seems to have scammed me for 32LTC. Shoulda gone with my gut and went with escrow. I'm going to give him a few more days to reply to my last PM before I neg him. Not sure that he will care but if it helps anyone else in the future....

Post the details and leave appropriate Trust. If you didn't use escrow it's on you. Roll Eyes

Yeah, I screwed up and didnt use escrow. Its on me for sure.

I'll post the details and leave a neg in a few days....
