Guys, a short question about the wallet.dat that contains the masternode payments and the 1k DRK.
Once i setup the node i stored the wallet.dat on different drives to secure it.
Do i have to update the wallet.dat or can i leaf it alone even when there were 150 mnpayments done.

What about the thief? Would it motivate more hackers to do it if they can always get away with it? Would this defer people from investing in crypto?
Problem with thief is that you and me, we can not be sure if that was real thief or just stupid system bug.Usually when such attack are there are dumps to 1sat ( WC 2x spend attack )... Why only VRC was affected while BTC LTC was in cold wallet... All loks more like inside bug of Mintpal system than any theft for me. We will never know if that was real thief or some inside mintpal altercation... Once on poloniex was sold stolen (300 000) DRK for 5000sat coin recovered in 4 months getting 500x. Same was with Gox and BTC when 10% of BTC was stolen. Thefts can't kill good coin. Reputation is much harder to get back. PS: BTW Whales are same kind of thief's they pump coin and go away with BTC look at Doge manipulation to 300sat they never invest in any coin for real. they want pump it and leave it after dump. To many things re manipulated in crypto from price to announcements. So that is why crypto never will become a real investment. It's only a lottery, even if coin is a very good project. Because of this i am short before the decission to go out of any crypto completly. |

Yup, you're an idiot. Mintpal gained absolutely nothing from this ordeal. You're calling others an idiot and you can't imagine what happens to mint loosing 8,000,000 veri.  Mint becomes insolvent, people panic with mass withdrawals, mintpal stops withdrawals, gox 2.0 happens...  Thanks for simple explanation. |

Hit the reset button after a accident will never bring fresh money into this market.
If i would be a veriholder i would be happy with the rollback.
So within the next days you will shift your community cash around and you will see a
steady decline until nothing. If there are good features inside this coin, devs will create a new one
and follow their shedule and their skills with a new project
I don' t know if devs are know persons or still anon.
If they are anon i would not hold only one veri whatever features it would have insinde.
On the other hand if they didn't rollback maybe mintpal has done and we had a new mtgox.
So devs have decided for crypto with their rollback and not for veri.

2 weeks in crypto is a long time, people are not clued up on darkcoin, so they see "2 weeks RC4" and then panic dump to release liquidity for them self's, they then buy other coins to make profit to buy more drks before the new RC comes out. See it all the time.

I don't know how you guys are doing. Why should it go down ? Only because there will be two weeks before next update ? You guys are only playing lottery and you don't care about any coin itself. Crypto is getting more and more the ugliest market to be and thats the reason why this markets will never go mainstream. Its time go get out of these markets for me completly. Let the banksters play their game on its own, we dont ever have a chance to change things with our own behaviour. I can remember things a few months ago as i was happy to transter money from EU to australia using cryptos without paying paypal a huge fee. Times you can do that is over. Even the best crypto projets can't stay stabile over 1 week. Crypto is getting the worst place to be. How should new people enter these markets ? You can't convince a friend using crypto without jeopardize friendship. Hey everyone, I have no idea where to enter the conversation anymore, LOL. I've been way too busy at home  and I'm a bit out of the loop  So anyways, looks like the price is really low! I have to figure out how to get money to buy more dark! But I don't have any  I guess we got a ways to go before RC4 and that means lower prices and trolls, eh? But it also means it's a good time to buy if you can. My mom asked me today how those "coins" are doing, and I said oh, in which aspect? Development? or market wise? Development is doing great! Our developer has been refining the way things work, making things work better and simpler and he thinks he's got the anonymity solution completed. But on the Marketplace side, there are so many scammers and uncouth people in this business, that it suffers. You probably have 1/3 of the people who are true believers in crypto coins, and really wanting to get this to work, and another 1/3 that are just here to fudge things to make money as fast as possible. and a good 1/3 who are just scammers, trying to scam people night and day. It's been very educating. Though I think I understand human nature, it's still amazing to see it in action on this anonymous forum. I've belonged to other forums for hobbies, and because we all get to know each other, and we trade with each other, our reputations are very important to us, so we act accordingly. We are polite, when we trade, we don't scam for the most part by far. And everything remains friendly. This place brings out the ugly in people, it's sad, funny and enlightening all at the same time. Anyway, we got to do something! It's a long way to the prize at "the end of the month"! I guess we might as well argue, LOL. Bump these true words. Crypto world seems to be the last place to be before hell. Once i thought PM market is such a bad place to be but crypto tops it out multiple times. And all miners here crying on the 20% MN payments are only dump miners who are able to mine for free electricity or only pay around 0.04.. 0.08 US$ / kwh. I am not able to mine anymore because i have to pay 0.36 US$. All these miners dont care on any crypto. They only care about a few $. That 's only another indicator for me that the western/US world is dying. US looks like being in last steps before bankruptcy. over 30% of DRK being mined are mined by multipools who will instantly sell them for BTC or LTC ... not good for the DRK prices...
plus you forgot to add that 20% of DRK being "mined" for free almost and dumped at any price, way below the price a proper miner can sell for profit Where should these 20% come from for free ? |

I don't have a linux box handy, but the binary tgz alone is over 15MB. Did you compile from source or download binary? downloaded the binary What's the error message? Segmentation fault What Linux distribution? 64bit or 32bit? all i know the daemon is only running on 64bit |

Server was running but darkoind was shut down. It looks like server gets started new but darcoind
is not into startup routine.
Look into Crontab. Do you think there could be a entry that reboots the server ? That would be a pretty unreliable host company if they manually added an entry to reboot your server without your knowledge. You can check with crontab -l for your current user or crontab -u (username) -l. My suggestion is to add the darkcoind daemon to your cron jobs in the event that the server is restarted nonetheless. Look into Crontab. Mine all good been up 9 days now no problems +1 The standard Ubuntu images definitely don't reboot on their own. I had a look, there is no automatic reboot into crontab |
