So basically the devs want additional 5% of all iotas (minimum) to pay for their work in several future months. They collected over half a mil dollars but they spent them without even releasing a full gui. If they don't receive the required amount of iotas, they will leave and start the same thing with other people, more generous ones. Right?

No, they ask funds to push IOTA onto DEVICES.

Quote from: iotatoken
The role of the IOTA Foundation will be to actively engage companies and projects that can benefit from the technology and business opportunities that IOTA offers them. This include in-person meetings and presentations, going to IoT/fintech/crypto conferences and actively raising awareness through media.

The Foundation will consist of dedicated members with experience and expertise. Most importantly these members is required to have a significant amount of time dedicated to the work involved.

As this will be a half-time/full-time job at times the members will be compensated for travel and accommodation as well as a wage. In addition to this expenses will include potential fees to conferences and marketing material.

IOTA is not for human, it's for machines.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: May 31, 2016, 09:09:10 PM

There is an extra strong incentive for donation:
Quote
in addition to this recognition as a true supporter of the project those who donate will be given a certain donation-amount-proportionate privilege in upcoming projects that involve the initiators of IOTA. ( No more details on this at the moment )

Much better project then Lisk (Crypti fork)
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Day trading altcoins on: May 31, 2016, 07:01:30 PM
True trade based on rumours probably not good, I think news site such a coindesk can be fairly reliable no?

You are just a source of income for exchange. More trades - more fees.

286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Day trading altcoins on: May 31, 2016, 06:58:18 PM
Is it possible to beat the altcoins market consistently, is it possible to make a profit trading altcoins in exchanges like BTC-E or will the transaction fee eat up any profit you can make. Is technical analysis of any use what other tactics are proven to work.

Just check the list of the richest people of the world and try to find daytrader in the list.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCR] Crypti | Dapps | Sidechains | Dapp Store | OPEN SOURCE | 100% own code | DPoS on: May 31, 2016, 06:47:16 PM
What is a fair price of Crypti in your opinion compared to Lisk in percentages Huh
I said it is roughly 80% of Lisk price.
Yes, it seems like fair price for a coin that have no active developer, not even for the effort to even tempfix a bug that makes it possible for anyone to break it in 5 minutes.

Boris said that Lisk team now responsible for the Crypti future.

Can I use my XCR to buy Wings ?
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it even worth making your own coin? on: May 31, 2016, 05:35:18 PM
In my opinion, there are already enough altcoins which are good and stable. I think that the coins which are new and created by random people have small to no values and they are used in small circles of people. I think that they are not even worth making or investing in them as they will probably be abandoned after a while.

Sure, there are some projects which succeed, but I think some are not needed.

What do you think?

No. I belive bitcoin is not the last cryptocoin, in terms of winners and best technology.
I mean there will be, no doubt, in the future a coin more popular then bitcoin.

All the altcoins which you see are fighting bitcoin, but still no one killed it.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: May 31, 2016, 02:48:58 PM

Thanks

I got help in iotatoken chat from @dominik

1. Download IRI 9.16 here:    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7K8P3s0KzdINkY5THJlcTNOTzQ/view?usp=sharing
2. run sudo java -jar IRI-0.9.16.delta.jar
3. Go to http://188.138.57.93/nostalgia.html
4. Claim IOTAs and enter donation %
5. You will need to wait 10-15 minutes and your new IOTA balance will show

It's not web wallet, you can run nostalgia.html from the same folder where your jar file placed
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: May 31, 2016, 11:35:12 AM
I have already donate to foundation when claiming, but if it is necessary I'll move funds prepared for "big dial" to foundation too  Roll Eyes

291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES Price speculation on: May 31, 2016, 11:30:54 AM
As we all know, WAVES have a lot of funds from their ICO which total to an amount of $10,085,462.89, and in exchange of that they will make a great infrastructure of the said coin with the best specifications and algorithm.

So right now I would like to see all of your predictions and speculations  of it's market cap when it is officially release.

At What MarketCap we will sees WAVES?

* Days after release
* After 1 Month
* After 1 Year

Let's see how high or low from your speculations of the price could be.

Well, Waves compared to Lisk is NEW TECHNOLOGY, written on Java framework.
Thus, I think, it will be traded higher then Lisk.

When claiming iotas popup window appears asking to enter % of your donation.

It's been streesed here that not eveyone read this forum, so I suggest to spend at least 20 minutes and think about adding 2 - 3 paragraphs which describe why we ask user to donate and why it is vital for IOTA success to fund foundation.

A popup window must explain more clearly WHY THEY(iota users) MUST DONATE:

Example:

A: Stop! Read - this is important!
I: The BTC-s from the presale went to support development of IOTA tech, JINN processor and taxes. After the iota launch the contract on development is over!
D: If you want a group of didicated people continue to push IOTA forward as IoT standard - so you can see IOTA been used by  different IoT-devices...
A: Please donate a little pieace of your stash, 5% by entering 5 in this form below.

We can move funds promised to "big deal" to support foundation  Roll Eyes

294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: May 30, 2016, 01:37:56 PM

Whats kind of silly in this whole "discussion" is the fact that nothing has even happend yet. The 5% will most likely be easily reached, just let everyone know that we have a stable and final release and let all those IOTAs change hands that have been sold the last months and THEN have a look at where we stand.

Its just completely unnecessary to have such a hostile discussion at this moment.

+1000 , release it , set up a donation address and see what happens.

Even better to add donation button, no one will miss it in this case.

Yeap, add in official GUI button DONATE.

296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: May 30, 2016, 12:33:29 PM
Are you really talking here now that there is impossible to cut 5% of your share to fund IOTA promotion  Huh
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: May 30, 2016, 10:44:36 AM
We can also go the same way as wikipedia (or other foundations) - gathering funds every year.

I'm looking at https://www.freebsdfoundation.org/

Amount Raised: $214,267
Goal: $1,250,000
Donors: 431

And it's also possible to get help from IOT companies using IOTA.

May be David's approach all or nothing is too hardcore - how about this: run foundation until there is funds. If there is no funds - nobody work at foundation.

You know, view this more like funding multiple projects under foundation, not just regular job.

Stas (probably foundation member) is, for example, in Wings project. He will never spend 100% of his time on IOTA.

298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: May 30, 2016, 10:23:58 AM
It would be wise to allow donations in BTC, could we get an explanation on the hesitation for that move?
Thx

Cause iota is much more valuable then bitcoin - it's easy  Smiley
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: May 30, 2016, 07:52:02 AM
What's the problem with donating 5% of your stash?

We all wanna IOTA to be not just cryptocoin, but a thing which will be usable by devices all over the world.

I'm sure that a lot of guys will donate after stable GUI with wallet will come out.

It also may help to add button called "donate" in upcoming GUI  Wink. So wallet user can just press "donate" button, set amount of IOTA he want to send and... it's gone  Grin

Claimed and donated.

Do not panic in advance someone will wait for more user friendly client, someone will donate via sending tokens to foundation wallet.
