281  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone having trouble withdrawing funds from Vault of Satoshi? on: February 07, 2015, 01:21:13 AM
Their website says it should be OK.

https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/

Vault of Satoshi closed on February 5th, 2015. Balances will be reduced 25% of the ending balance per month starting March 15th, 2015 and continuing every month until all balances are zero (4 months time), at which time the site will be turned off completely. After this time (June 15th, 2015), any remaining funds will be claimed by Vault of Satoshi. If you have made arrangements to have your money withdrawn, or your withdraw request is still being processed your balance will be immune to the balance fee.

Members here are more likely to be targeted than most because they are probably holding bitcoin. The mods say there are increasingly sophisticated attempts to target bitcointalk members, so be on your guard.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Bitcoin Mine That's Making $1.5M a Month on: February 06, 2015, 06:44:50 PM
Chinese Bitcoin Mine That's Making $1.5M a Month

6 of these locations in china secure and process 3% of the Bitcoin transactions.

http://motherboard.vice.com/read/chinas-biggest-secret-bitcoin-mine

How much of that would be profit at today's prices? I don't know what Chinese electricity prices are.
284  Economy / Speculation / Re: It will drop under 100 on: February 06, 2015, 12:09:27 PM
I wouldn't be surprised... i feel like we still haven't hit "true despair"

During "true despair" there will probably only be two posts a day on this board.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Patents on: February 06, 2015, 11:43:41 AM
I think if an idea's already been publicly demonstrated then you cannot patent it. You can apply for a patent but they will refuse it after a long winded examination.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NONAMECOIN 08/02/15 on: February 06, 2015, 01:48:32 AM
The 3% premine is too much
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth to buy altcoins? on: January 31, 2015, 11:31:16 AM
UNO might be worth buying now.
288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: January 31, 2015, 11:29:37 AM
Bitcoin is in it's infancy. It needs pools to keep large corporate farms from keeping all mining profits from individual miners. Pools are much more decentralized than corporate miners. Miners on pools can switch to pools that prevent corporate miners from monopolizing all the blocks.

I wonder why people don't complain that Apple, Oracle, Microsoft, and Google haven't stolen all your money since they have control of all your personal and financial information? You can bet they will, it's only a matter of time.  Roll Eyes

Pools have already grown to the size where they could launch an attack. They realized they were shooting themselves in the foot by getting too big and reduced their sizes.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What cryptocurrency do you have the most faith in the long term? on: January 19, 2015, 01:29:41 AM
I have faith in Bitshares because of its large capitalization.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The cryptocurrency short list on: January 19, 2015, 01:27:30 AM
I would like to know what the amount is of BTC has been moving over the past 12 months.
Like, how much BTC is active.

Bitcoin Days Destroyed is a difficult to understand concept but it might answer your question.

Bitcoin Days Destroyed is a measure of the transaction volume of Bitcoin. If someone has 100 BTC that they received a week ago and they spend it then 700 bitcoin days have been destroyed. If they take those 100BTC and send them to several addresses and then spend them then although the total transaction volume could be arbitrarily large the number of bitcoin days destroyed is still 700.

291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CLOAK] Cloakcoin |No Premine|X13|Decentralized Market & PoSA on: January 03, 2015, 12:58:35 AM
I've listed this on CoinGather.  No trade activity yet sadly.  Sad

I'm sure we'll get some trade activity now it's the weekend and people have some spare time.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: December 28, 2014, 02:07:18 AM
I started selling a little but dont worry im going to buy more if price goes down. Being 100% in BC isnt good coz u cant buy when they are really cheap. Now I have ~20btc to support low levels like 6500-8k  Smiley

You should get a healthy return on an investment like that, if you are lucky enough to get coins that cheap.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BDC] Bollywoodcoin Neoscrypt, no premine, no instamine on: November 29, 2014, 07:37:01 PM
Will you fund the faucet from donations as there is no premine?
294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pick One - For January 1 on: November 29, 2014, 07:31:51 PM
how can you check if posts are edited and/or deleted?

The site below mirrors bitcointalk posts and often preserves deleted posts, but it seems a bit erratic in what it records. You can link your bitcointalk account to it at the link below but I'm not certain how it works. Is anyone here registered there?

295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BigVern cryptsy- please release FTC funds, they are fine and seling bear for FTC on: October 26, 2014, 05:08:13 PM
I like Cryptsy, but the support is really poor.

2 tickets pending, 1 (withdrawal of XRP) waiting for nearly 1 week, to other ticket 2 weeks and still no progress.

Will move my funds and future tradings to a competitor.

XRP has a few issues we are ironing out since we use a third party to process our transactions.

We hope to have the kinks worked out within a few days. Yours should get resent soon

If nobody bothered to reply to jawitech's and other customers tickets to explain the situation it could cost Cryptsy lost business. You could at least reply to their tickets telling them what you said here.
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wow Doge is exploding right now on: September 09, 2014, 02:33:43 PM
Agree, just doge coin is high risk investment and bitcoin is lower risk..

Doge has a higher risk factor, but also higher potential returns which counterbalances the risk. I would imagine the risk/reward ratio is actually lower in Doge at this time than in Bitcoin.

I guess Bitcoin is a better long term investment than Doge. I guess Bitcoin is likely to be here in ten years, but Doge might not be here.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: August 12, 2014, 02:34:44 PM
I got a server error when I tried to verify my email through the stellar wallet. Did anyone else get this problem today?
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: May 22, 2014, 08:23:47 PM
PMC is going to be delisted, it has been fun, I sold the rest of my coins.

Benezivas is correct, we are scheduled for delisting on Poloniex in two days...

Poloniex is WHERE Hascows buys the PMC for the PMC payout....     we did a lot of work for this... we need to all go 'NUTS'...

Ideas?

Thanks for the heads up. I was unaware of this and I think I might still have some PMC on there.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Coin2.0 [C2.0] - The forward thinking POS (FPS GAME DEV. UNDER WAY). on: May 22, 2014, 08:21:26 PM
py wallet (search for it) is a python based program which starts a local server where you can examine wallet contents and dump private keys etc etc

Thanks, it sounds better than notepad, but it also sounds a bit more complicated than an editor.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BTCtalkcoin [TALK] - Pure POS - Multipool Ready! - AirDrop Coming Soon on: May 22, 2014, 08:18:08 PM
My wallet just synced and it was frozen all day until now. I didn't do anything special to make it sync. However, I have still not got my airdrop coins, it looks like I'll have to wait a while longer
