281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking ATOM Tokens on COSMOS block-chain on: November 14, 2019, 10:04:09 AM
Yes, staking is been quite profitable ever since. Double the coin value + bunch of staking rewards Wink
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 💲 hiveOS flasher utility tutorial. on: November 13, 2019, 10:25:11 AM
HiveOS is the ultimate mining monitoring and control tool for your mining operation. Specially if you do have large mining farm, it is very useful and very easy to setup. So i have created installation guide with Flasher utility. In simple words plugin usb or any other hardrive before booting mining rig. And it will install hiveOS to your mining rig hard-drive. But before that your will need usb stick or ssd and hiveos account. If you dont have one here is link how to create one here.

Se the steps for gpu rig installation are :

Download hiveOS flasher latest version http://download.hiveos.farm/hive-flasher-20180910.7z

Also you will need installation tool (hdd raw copy tool or  Etcher) http://download.hiveos.farm/

Download latest GPU hiveOS image https://hiveos.farm/install/

When all the downloads are finished save and unpack them in one folder, this way will be easier to work with. For installation to flash-drive i will be using Etcher. So insert your usb flashdrive into PC and choose Flasher image in Etcher to load on this usb drive.

After you have flashed your hard-drive with hiveOS flasher, next thing is to copy over latest hiveOS image file.

Next edit your flasher sample-rig text file and insert your farmhash , you can find your farm hash in your hiveos account under farm settings.

Now your hard-drive is ready for flashing, you can insert it in your mining rig. Boot up and go into motherboard bios, select primary boot option from your hiveos flashing utility.

After reboot it will start to install hiveos on your mining rig hard-drive. When it will finish , it will shutdown your system

Then remove your flashing utility from mining rig and boot. It should automatically connect to your hiveos account.

By the way fpgas are not that efficient on Raven , for example there are some mining new alghorithm already 4000euro worth of FPGA is doing 100 mh/s at 120 watts. https://mineshop.eu/fpga-miners/xilinx-bcu-1525-fpga-detail/

good luck with that, none of the ones ive bought second hand have been "burned"

Prove it they are available for everyone for 1000 would like to buy some?

bcus are not 4000euros can be found for between 1100-1500usd

They are brand new, burned second hand you can get for 1000.

Guys stop arguing, Difficulty and Total hash rate dropped significantly.
Profitability went about 2x as it was before the for .
Ens of the story. Tested, Proven, Recorded

Of course don't expect to get rich mining Raven its still that not profitable as any of the GPU coins is not profitable to mine.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RandomX Ryzen9 and Ram Settings on: October 08, 2019, 09:45:20 AM
Hey Guys.

Now i have my Ryzen 9 3900x with Corsair Watercooling.
Now i´m testing on randomx-benchmark.xmrig.com:7777

I read on RancomX site, that some guys have the Ryzen9 on 4.2, 4.3, 4.46Ghz and with Hashes from 12600-13600.

Now my Ryzen i can only set to 4.00GhZ, and have 10600-10700 Hashes.
And if i set the Ryzen on 4.05GhZ and more i start XMRig and after around 10 seconds xmrig close by itself.
At 4.2GhZ the PC don´t Boot, and restarts , and got error message, pc have to repair.
Mainboard is MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus
2x8GB Corsair Venggeance CL16 Ram

Is there any other settings.?? for Example. Ram.?
Have read some things about it, but don´t know what is good performance.

Thx

Well CPUs are the same as GPUs , that you could be unlucky and receive CPU which gets unstable when you overclock it. Not every chip is identical.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RandomX Intel CPU mining performance | benchmarks mining Monero on: October 08, 2019, 09:42:15 AM
Well gpus can't compete according to this, now the thing everyone needs is an easy way to scale CPUs for mining. I for one hope for some CPU card style thing to come out and work.

In my opinion if you are mining with GPUs and still want to support Monero , just upgrade CPU and mine with GPU some other coin. Also Motherboard manufacturers could manufacturer some mining multi CPU board Smiley
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: x16r2v Ravencoin network upgrade successful. on: October 08, 2019, 09:38:13 AM
x16rv2 did nothing to fpgas lol wasnt intended to as they were not the issue. people need to stop spreading fud about fpgas.

Are you talking about waiting for block halving? You can wait for more than 28 months? So 2 and a half before ravercoin block halving.
What are you talking about? The network hash dropped a huge amount, this was due to kicking off the hoard of OW1 Asics that were hitting the raven network. It was at 21.6 terahash and now it's right around 9th/s, that's over a 50% drop with the week time to allow everyone to change pools and get back on it (including new gpu miners)

Yes it was even slightly more i took a snapshot just before the fork

And first days after for hashrate was hoovering in between 5-6TH , till people figured out that its profitable to mine it. So it means there was about 70% asic miners on Raven coin which is a lot of hashpower.

One option many people do not think about is solar power, with the prices getting to be very affordable they even have systems that do not require inspections and install by just plunging into your AC socket. You wont be able to power things full time without batteries, so its more of a way to drop your average cost over time.

Nothing like solar mining

Batteries for storing power could be quite expensive. Is there a way to overproduce the power and let trough grid and in night time take back when needed?

If you go with a grid tied system you can bank unused power but that requires inspections and a greater amount of time to get setup. Right now you are better off buying more solar panels over batteries and just banking your excess power. The other option is buying a system that has no need for inspections to setup and just offsetting your energy costs during the day.

Lately been gathering a lot of information about Solar energy, and it seems very interesting topping for mining. Seems like the solar energy has got very advance , in compare it was few years ago.

I dont think either FPGAs are big of a deal currently, they are still very decentralized, more accessible to everyone then ASICs and also not so efficient in terms price per hash.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: x16r2v Ravencoin network upgrade successful. on: October 07, 2019, 09:15:41 AM
Mining RVN with Nvidia cards has climbed to top 5 in profitability from yielding negative returns after power expenses pre fork,

so the ASIC resistance goal of the fork looks to be decisively accomplished; it will be interesting to see how long GPU mining profitability can be sustained for Ravencoin in its current version...
Will be interesting to so for how long it will take for ASICs to return on Raven. They have to do these forks more often like Monero, where making Asic miner for it will only cost money so people will stop to do it.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RandomX Intel CPU mining performance | benchmarks mining Monero on: October 03, 2019, 10:44:42 AM
Not a direct comment at the OP, but most people posting are ignoring the cost of electricity. I realize that someone who mines on one or two PCs either doesn’t care or doesn’t pay (thanks Mom, if you only knew).

That said, right now mining any RandomX coins has very little profit. I’m still hashing away at 60KH/s, making a couple dollars a day if I’m lucky.

Example...

3700x system getting 8150 H/s @ 126 watts (whole system, at the wall). Where I live, that is $0.40 per day on power and I’ll make (as of today) $0.61 on Loki. So, $0.21 per day profit! I can by a coffee a week.

Just hoping the first few weeks after the Monero fork are much more profitable so I can break even, good news is that if I’m not I can still sell this stuff. At this rate, 2700 days to break even. Not complaining. I love this shit.

Upgrade your miners and start hashing till asics and fpga haven't returned back.
Waiting for network to stabilize to see most accurate profits.
So far profits seems to increase.

The network hash rate dropped off quite a bit, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes people to reprogram their FPGA cards and start mining on the new algo. Looks like profits are similar to Zcoin now although it has been bouncing around and may take some time to stabilize like you mentioned.

Yes seems like network hashrate has stabilized at 6 th/s , so 70% mining Ravencoin was ASIC and FPGA. I do not think that FPGA is that big of a deal, i heard some of the FPGA CVP-13 can still mine RAVENcoin but only about 50mh/s average. Updated Bit-stream 300mh/s should be ready next week.

All the rest Randomx is quite small cap coins, so it is hard to compare. Might be people already preparing and bought bunch of CPU for testing it.
But you are right profit is just not there now, nearly in any GPU/CPU minable coins.
I love this shit also Smiley so i keep looking for options to stay profitable in mining.

298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RandomX Intel CPU mining performance | benchmarks mining Monero on: October 01, 2019, 08:43:03 AM
Thanks for the information and the video, its going to be an exciting time for cpu miners or for regular miners with a decent cpu in their mining rig. I have a Ryzen 1700 that is getting around 4.0 kh/s but I am sure the results could be better with some optimization. I am going to have to test out an i5 6400t and a threadripper 1950x to see what kind of results I can get with those.

Yes looking forward whats is going to happen with Monero, hope it doesn't get flooded with malware miners. hreadripper 1950x  seems to have good performance, amd outperforming Intel on this algorithm. Not often you see this ...ha

299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / RandomX Intel CPU mining performance | benchmarks mining Monero on: September 30, 2019, 08:26:31 PM

So i have been starting to test some hardware for RandomX. What i think i will be doing is upgrading my current rigs with high end CPUs. And do dual mining, mine ethereum with graphic cards and monero with CPU for example with the same mining rig. Think this would be the most optimal way, to not spend any more money on new hardware, just the CPU. Only problem i face is that, by benchmark testing https://randomx.monerobenchmarks.info/ . Ryzen latest CPUs seems to be most efficient when it comes down to RandomX mining. But most of my mining rigs are built on Intel boards. I have couple ideas what i think i will implement in my next tutorials.

But in this i want to go trough some Intel CPUs and see what are the benchmarks. The only thing i forgot measure the power usage in mining process. But this is not a big deal, you can look up CPU power usage by its maximum performance. Also in testing i didn’t use any OC on CPUs, all of them are stock. I have been testing these CPU on hiveOS, where you can launch multiple miners simultaneously. And this allows me to easy mine different coins with same hardware from one rig.

1.Intel Celeron G3900 , it is one of the cheapest CPU what im using for most on my mining rig builds. This CPU retail price is about 40€. Performance/benchmark – 450 h/s. Which is about the same as one RX 570 on new RandomX mining Algorithm.

2. Intel Pentium G4400 , also one of the low end CPU from Intel. This CPU retail price is about 50€.  Performance/benchmark – 725 h/s. Which is equivalent about the same as two RX 570 on new RandomX mining Algorithm.

3. Intel i5 7600. This CPU retail price is about 280€ . Performance/benchmark – 1.63 kh/s. Which is equivalent about the same as two Vega 56 on new RandomX mining Algorithm.

4. Intel i7 8700k. This CPU retail price is about 450€ . Performance/benchmark – 2.36 kh/s. Which is equivalent about the same as 4 Vega 56 on new RandomX mining Algorithm.

Some people are claiming Intel i7 8700k overclocked can reach 3.5-4 kh/s. Which is a great performance for one CPU if you are comparing it to Graphic cards. But if you are using lates Ryzen 3800 or 3900 series cpu the performance is even better. Some  Ryzen 9 3900 overclocked reaching 14 big fat kh/s , which is a monster RandomX mining CPU in terms of price per hash and hash per watt. I have Some Ryzen CPUs on the way and will do some testing also, so subscribe it to not miss it.

It will be interesting to see what RandomX will do to Monero hashrate. In my opinion it will be higher as it is in a first week of algorithm switch as the CPU are much more efficient as gpu for it.

Best bet mining Randomx is with Ryzen 9 and then add gpus best performance for your other preferable coin to mine.
We have this dual miner , check components we use https://mineshop.eu/monero-xmr-miners/monero-dual-miner-randomx/
