.....If you haven't already put together a complete set (or two so you can keep one).....

This part is what is interesting to me? "so you can keep one"? Hm. what am I doing with the other set? Am I turning it in to burn with all the other unsold cards? Do I get some kind of redemption prize for turning in a full set? Very interesting to say the least. Maybe I am reading too much into it.

Would love 2 Funded and 2 Buyer Funded.

Prefer numbers 57 and 69 if available to match my 1st edition, happy to have any other numbers if no longer available.

283  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Bitcoin Trading Cards: Orange Pill in a Pack on: January 02, 2023, 04:27:25 PM
They are interesting.
I have opened both packs and enjoy both series.

Personally I feel like the Cardsmiths are a tad bit better quality in the base cards.

The Cardsmiths numbered cards are very nice hologram/gemstone finishes, but were frequently warped/curved.
I only have one Numbered BTC Trading Cards numbered card (1/100) and it is very nice. Thicker, shiny, and flat. Stamped number x/100 on the back.

Of note, there is always a "rare" (blue rare, red ultrarare, legendary, 1/999 or 1/100 etc.) card in each pack of 10 BTC trading cards. So I guess this is nice to always get some kind of a "hit".

I definitely think it is worth picking up a pack or two, but like I said before, because of the numbering, completing a full set will be very challenging for the Orange Pill cards. The "base set" includes rare numbered cards. Cardsmiths has a base set and then rare/numbered cards of the base set image. Very different numbering systems.

I'll post some pics of my cards once I open some more packs! I hope others post theirs too.

284  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Kialara... to load or not to load? on: January 02, 2023, 03:57:04 PM
Simple, just buy 2. Load one, keep one unloaded. Boom.  Cool

In all seriousness I know that people feel differently about this for various reasons, just like which is more valuable, pre or post-fork satori. Hard to say objectively, so feelings get involved.

I personally have not loaded mine for many of the reasons you mentioned. I don't have the spare BTC to lock up into a collectible that I would have to destroy to get back. If I had BTC coming out my ears then the load cost would not be as hard to give up. Others feel that the "art" should be untouched. So if someone releases a coin, or a card, or a Kialara unloaded, they keep it unloaded so it is always in the condition that the maker made it in. In my mind peeling a coin is different than destroying a Kialara. You still have the peeled coin in effectively similar condition that can be preserved, etc. To "peel" a Kialara, you literally have to destroy it, not as desirable in my mind.

Also a future funded item may be harder to sell simply due to the increase value of BTC. A loaded 25BTC Casasius coin has tremendous dollar value now (compared to when they sold) and this potentially limits the possible buyers today, simply because of price increase of the load.

I know of some collectors who do load them and other "buyer funded" items. The idea that these are meant to be loaded and are denominated makes them want it to be "complete". This requires TRUST in the maker and the spare BTC.  In the case of Kialara there has not yet been any issues with trust or key compromise. I believe that in the community Max has established a very strong reputation and to date has not or does not want to tarnish that. So if you choose to, the Kialaras are at the moment safe to load. But (as always) gotta put trust in the maker.

I don't think either answer is right or wrong. This is why it all depends on what you want, can afford, and prefer.

Curious what others think. Let us know what you decide and why!

I have purchased cards for my own collection. I simply hope to provide some information for the collectors on this forum who may be interested in including them in their collection. Pictures are not mine, they are taken from the Fandom Wiki page and are only for reference and display.

I hope people enjoy collecting these cards, I really like many of them. Please share any thoughts about the project or pictures of any rare cards you may pull in your hunt for a full 65 card set! Completing a full set will be challenging given some numbered cards are very limited (1/21 and 1/100), but the hunt is all a part of the fun. I can't wait to see what others pull from their packs.

Thanks for looking,

I agree. Mine took 3-4 weeks for the whole process. I would not worry, but their customer service is very good and can check the status of your redemption also.
