282  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Giving away more then 0.01 for investment on: February 23, 2014, 07:02:41 PM
I'm a little confused on the investment part. If I invest .10 BTC, are you giving me 20% or 5% my initial investment? And are you sending that to my BTC wallet or straight into the account?

Thanks!

Hi,
When you invest, I immediatly will send 20% of your investment to your WALLET.
After that, you will see that your balance in the site is growing every day,
and you can withdraw it in each second.

You can see that we have already 20,000 investors that invested more than 2 MILLION $

Enjoy

Thanks.  Grin

I didn't get paid...

Sorry friend, thats because you were late in the first offer.
50 people before you got paid.  Sad

Where can I see 20,000 investors investing over $2 million?  Other than on a font on a website that is.

Just came back to say OP paid as promised and I also tried the site, looks very polished.
284  Other / Archival / Re: remove on: February 23, 2014, 03:36:05 AM
Sorry your third participant didn't work out.  You can send the BTC to:

I'll leave the sig up for a while longer and see if I can get you a few more clicks, I didn't get in as many posts last week as I was hoping for.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POLL How do you store your coins? on: February 21, 2014, 05:53:16 PM
Paper wallets for long-term, blockchain.info for short-term purchases
286  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Japan Private Investigator needed to find out where is Mark Karpeles on: February 20, 2014, 06:30:24 PM
so instead of letting him fix shit up asap you want to derail that by having him doge your investigators?
a lot of strange advice is coming from those supposedly with funds tied up with gox

Fix things "ASAP"  Cheesy  When has Gox EVER done that?
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you panic sell into MtGox manipulation? on: February 20, 2014, 05:51:36 PM
The people who are panicking right now are the ones that will be complaining about how such a small amount of people own such a large amount of bitcoins.

I appreciate the cheap coins though.

How are you buying those cheap coins though?  It doesn't seem like money is flowing in or out of Gox.  Unless you mean the slight decline it has caused on the other exchanges?
288  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bad incentives (Mt gox) on: February 20, 2014, 05:48:41 PM
Looking at what's going on with the price discrepancy between Mt. Gox and other exchanges, I can't help but think this demonstrates a bad incentive for exchanges.

Right now, anyone able to get funds onto Gox can make a ridiculous profit by arbitraging. Trouble is, most people can't withdraw BTC, so the play seems risky. But who's best positioned to get funds onto Gox accounts? Gox, of course. And who has most reason to trust Gox to allow BTC withdrawals? Gox again.

I don't know what's going on at Mt Gox. Right now, however, they have a financial incentive to not fix their problems, if they're buying BTC themselves and selling elsewhere. The same incentive exists, in principle, for any exchange. Run your service to the ground, get people good and scared and use your house edge to buy their BTC on the cheap. Even if this isn't what Gox are doing now, as long as the incentive is there, someone will do it eventually.

I'm not sure how this can be solved, other than not using exchanges.

You solve it like you would any other business, you don't give money to incompetent fools who show you time and time again that they cannot be trusted.
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do companies sell Bitcoin miners, like ASIC? on: February 20, 2014, 02:03:31 AM
Why do companies sell Bitcoin miners, like ASIC?

Surely if they can make money from mining, they would keep it themself.

The only other option is that they make more from selling it, than they would make from mining with it.

It's definltely not some charitable gift to the people.

So, what do you all think?

For the same reason it was much more profitable to sell pans and shovels during the gold rush.
290  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying ALL Your BTC on: February 20, 2014, 01:57:58 AM
I have no negative and as you can see I've been around for years.  Preev + 25%, you go first.  How much BTC do you want?
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin before 2011 - how did you get involved on: February 19, 2014, 06:44:26 AM
just curious how did you early bitcoiners get involved and what attracted you, single most important thing that made you believe in it.

I read an article about the allinvain hack and thought what sort of idiot would put all that money into fake money.  I came to the forums, was a big skeptic for a long while, but eventually saw the potential after many "spirited" debates.
292  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-17] Mt. Gox Shows Bitcoin's Growing Pains -- Update on: February 18, 2014, 10:45:37 PM

Gox will self-gox itself, and Mark is solely to blame for the continued opaque management style, the lack of communication and especially - the lack of staffing from a business that is still pulling in over 1 Million a MONTH on shitty volume compared to the other exchanges.

Exactly.  All these apologist writers for Gox is ridiculous, they've shown their incompetence time and time again.
293  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: February 18, 2014, 10:41:55 PM
Trusting someone to sell me a tablet back in the early days.  Every bad decision is a lesson learned though, no regrets.

Found an old Ripple wallet I never use with a little XRP in it.  Anyone wants to buy 5,000 XRP, send offers here or via PM.
297  Economy / Economics / Re: Explain to me why MT.Gox has crashed on: February 17, 2014, 09:45:51 PM
Can someone explain why Mt. Gox hasn't rebounded yet? If they're about to reopen withdrawals then why is it only @ 313$/BTC atm?
I have enough faith in Gox to grab some BTCBTCBTC at half price if I could (doubt I can deposit in time) - why doesn't anyone else? What's going on?

Maybe because Gox has shown their incompetence over and over and over again since the very beginning?
298  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Order & Chaos Account [iOS] on: February 17, 2014, 07:48:13 PM
Testing to see if there's interest.  Account has a Level 70 Monk and Ranger.  Monk has full 6/6 T3 Epic Mili Gear with all level 4 gems, 3/6 PVP Gear, and backup healer gear.  600/600 crafting, two epic mounts (scorpion & lightning horse), and about 9.5K gold.  Ranger has your typical blue item dungeon gear and a PVP dagger.  One epic deer mount.  Account also has 500 runes.

Offers/questions here or PM me.  Thanks.
299  Economy / Economics / Re: How to buy gold and silver. on: February 17, 2014, 07:38:33 PM
I know this is a longshot given how wide of a user base is here, but does anyone know of a place that i can walk into and physically buy gold or silver in the ORange County, CAlifornia area?  I'd feel way more comfortable in person, even the the sales person would probably be trying to swindle me anyway. Lol

Just look for pawn shops and store that advertise that they will buy your gold.  If they buy chances are pretty good they will sell.  There's also coin collectible shops, it should be pretty easy to find stores in OC.
300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investors Pump $600,000 into Swedish Bitcoin Exchange Safell on: February 17, 2014, 07:33:20 PM
No.

What we need is a decentralized exchange.

That is the problem.

Not more "solid players".  I know you meant well by saying that.  But truly:  Bitcoin needs no central points of weakness.

This is the entire reason it was created.  And are we shocked that the failures have been in the centralized elements?

They are *always* the weak links in a decentralized network.

I don't know if Mastercoin Foundation's decentralized network invention is what I am referring to, but the days of "companies" owning "exchanges" and creating a "trust" situation needs to end.

More companies is not the solution.

-B-

How does one accomplish a truly decentralized exchange?  That's the problem.

yep.  I love the idea of decentralized exchanges, and realize that this is one of the more powerful possibilities of bitcoin, but don't have any idea how that would work.

I've seen most of the attempts but the problem is and always will be you need to start at some point with the conversion from traditional fiat.  I think the best we can hope for is a diversified system, which while isn't as optimal as a decentralized system, but certainly an improvement over the monopoly Gox had in the early days.  We're clearly seeing this occurring now and it should continue.
