281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange or hardware wallet ? on: December 03, 2021, 06:50:20 PM
I would add that it really depends on the exchange and the amount we are talking about relative to your overall wealth. I am not giving an arbitrary number now as 100 dollars could mean something very different to someone  poor than to someone rich.

But when you have a rather small amount and you store that on an exchange like Coinbase, the chance that you are going to lose that crypto due to a hack is really small in my opinion. I guess Coinbase even has something like a deposit insurance required by regulators. There are often times limits though as per individual, but that's why I said it also depends on the amount.
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are we waiting for the crypto christmas gifts(new highs) on: December 03, 2021, 06:44:50 PM
That would also mean that the whales decide to play Santa Clause, but I doubt that will be the case. Momentum does mostly not come from nowhere. Why would it even be the case that more people trade at Christmas with a positive sentiment than at other times? We could also assume that in January 2022 it will be the same as in January 2018 Wink Wouldn't be that much fun hm?
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins that are very down now that may pump? on: December 03, 2021, 05:53:10 PM
If you check coinmarketcap and you switch the 7 days column for the biggest losers, there aren't really good coins that lost a lot recently. Now some of them might still pump, but telling which one is essentially impossible unless you are very well informed about the projects. Or are you searching for super small market cap coins that could go through the roof? I think that requires a lot of luck to get those right. Impossible in the short-term and if you have the time you could give smaller market cap coins a shot if you are sufficiently well informed about them.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next better altcoin? on: December 03, 2021, 05:50:54 PM
Obviously, anyone would do the same. When one is comfortable with old coin, he will not pay attention to new coin that are not necessarily profitable. In fact the old coins have been tested and have good quality so that the trust of investors is very strong. The point is that traders must choose coins that suit their tastes, Don't be easily swayed by the hype that is only temporary.
Only those who do not understand the quality of a coin will be lulled by new coins or coins that live by the hype, while for those who have experience with old coins and are still very comfortable in the old coins, it will obviously be very difficult to move to another place, let alone just because of the hype, not because of a more valid use.

I agree with you mostly, but those who have been around for a while also know how not so popular coins work. You can theoretically give it a shot and enjoy a pump, but get the timing more or less right for selling.

Those who just fall for fancy websites and some nice wording in the white paper won't be profitable in this market.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin dump, Ethereum pump! on: December 03, 2021, 05:38:29 PM
Recently i saw eth has pumped more than btc but it doesn’t mean that eth could win race with btc. Even it still suffering to reach 1eth=0.1 btc. People come crypto market mainly for btc, i doubt that large number of people don’t know about other currencies properly except bitcoin. That's the reason, why big organisations only accepting btc as their payment method except others currencies Btw i guess, day by day eth and btc both will increase & thus percentage of dominating btc would be same as now.
There's no need to race and comparison for these two. Bitcoin is always far and superior from ethereum and that's the reality that everyone has to accept.
No matter how huge the gain of Ethereum, there will always be the time that bitcoin will have its own huge gain too. And that makes the market better if the gain starts from bitcoin.

Well that could also turn out to be wrong one day. When Ethereum has these pumps while Bitcoin stagnates or dumps, you can be certain that there are some very powerful players at work. The time that institutional investors are only interested in Bitcoin are long gone. I could see a scenario where Ethereum does at least pump very close to Bitcoin. It also depends on technological innovation that both bring to the table, but more so for Ethereum I guess as Bitcoin has now claimed the title of digital gold and is therefore in and of itself valuable I would say.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: where to invest with 30 000 usd on: December 03, 2021, 05:33:49 PM
With $30k then I will divide it into 2 types of investment, $20k I buy top coins, namely BNB and Cake then I use it for farming or staking on Pancake, there is APY up to 90%, farming and staking are safer. and the $10k I will use to buy new listed coins that are trending on top exchanges.
APY varies from time to time and also the price of CAKE is almost half of its all time high price.
I would suggest to buy top ten coins from the major chunk of the $30k and then the OP can play with the rest of the funds by either investing in low market cap coins or maybe can do trading to get good returns from the work that he put in. I would personally go for buying low market cap coins.

I am not sure if OP is a newbie, but to be fair one should mention that with farming there is also impermanent loss involved. As long as you know it and you keep an eye of your framing coin pair, that's ok. But if you have no idea, I over and over again that people don't understand how those farming pool balances work and they are surprised that what they get out sometimes is less than what they put in. So farming requires the investor (or farmer if you will) to pay attention very frequently.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any hope for BitcoinCash? on: December 03, 2021, 05:31:17 PM

With the lots of new trends day-by-day, BCH needs a big hype in able to reach its previously All-Time High. For short-term trades, BCH is still far one of the good coins out there to be included on the list in terms of "trading purposes".

Any hope for Bitcoincash? In what way? Having a trading volume of US$2B, the dominance is clearly there in the market.

I guess one hope for Bitcoin Cash to really go for an upside rally is to hope that Bitcoin goes on a rally. At least it will benefit from the pull effect then. As for Bitcoin Cash alone, it is a bit difficult to name a specific role that it has. It is much cheaper than BTC, yes, but it is as slow. When you want to send it to an exchange and some require 10 confirmations, it feels like an eternity. Even then you got much better options if it is just for the purpose of getting money from one exchange to another.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: where are these cryptos going;!!! on: December 03, 2021, 05:28:56 PM
New coins keep popping up and we don't know for sure which coins really have promising potential,
talking about solana i think everyone already knows that it's a potential project and will likely continue to grow,
I really hope that in the future there will be projects popping up like solana
When someone starts to get confused in choosing coins because of the many new coins, then he will always choose the old coins for investment and trading, because thinking too much and thinking too long will also make his time wasted.

I would say it is certainly worth it to also deal with new technologies and read into it. I would split up my portfolio, put something into the well established coins, but the real fun comes into play when you find projects like Solana. I would stay away from meme coins, but that is only my preference.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin Dead??? on: December 03, 2021, 03:18:41 PM
Calling a coin dead that has almost 30 billion dollars market capitalization is rather funny to me. Now I wouldn't bet on DOGE going back to something like 60 billion dollars, but that chance is still there as there is still very likely a lot of financial interest involved by very, very big holders.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it the end of crypto? on: December 03, 2021, 03:15:00 PM
If price crashing means bear trend, bear trap, correction, there are a lot of thing that we can say beside end of crypto. Not means crypto is everything for me, but as long people still believe in it, it wouldn't end. Community will still there, demands still made, a lot of new people involved to crypto, and it can be better soon, only need time. Don't be panic when see market crash, the others already experience more worse than that.

Noobs usually panic sell when they see the market going all the way down the drain. That's an immature decision that will make them lose big profits in the long term. Crypto is all about patience, not a "get rick quick" scheme. As long as you understand that, you'll be successful in all of your crypto ventures. I'd say this is just the beginning, since the best is yet to come. Crypto/Blockchain tech will only become bigger, faster, and stronger than ever. Development is still on-going, even when the market is bearish. Smart investors will "buy the dip" in order to make huge profits when everything goes back up again. As long as you play your cards right, you'll have nothing to worry about. Just my thoughts Grin

This is really too much of a narrow perspective. Not everyone selling is automatically a newbie. Some might have their reasons why they see an opportunity in using downward momentum to their advantage. It might be risky, but with a bit of luck it can work out.

What's a much more pressing reason though is if you invested money you need too soon and you can't sit out a crash. What are your options now? They might be quite limited because you may know that there is a certain threshold where you have to sell for safety reasons in order to be able to cover costs and finance your daily needs. So

So really, not all of them are newbies and these corrections are normal. Which is not to deny that there aren't also a lot of newbies selling because they are panicking.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: price of CAKE $50 realistic? on: December 03, 2021, 03:10:54 PM
I admittedly bought most of the tokens at $14.62. I could have waited until $12, but I couldn't believe it would drop to $12.
Yes, I agree, and I am disappointed. Cake is falling so hard. Early this year, it was 44$, but now it has dropped to 20$, where it has been for awhile, and now to 12$. It's pancakeswap's native token, so I figured it'd be a good buy now. The price is so low. Several blockchains are competing with each other, so all of the big whale funds have moved on. It is unlikely that cake will return any time soon.

I think that one of the major problems CAKE has right now is that it looks like if they stopped innovating really hard. New swapping and staking and farming platforms are popping up right, left and center. They are all willing to compete with CAKE, taking away market share. They need to more frequently upgrade and innovate further in the DeFi space.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which is the most underrated coin for 2021? on: December 03, 2021, 03:09:16 PM
There are a few coins trading on the crypto market which have the potential to take the world by storm. I'd say coins with smart contract capabilities are the most successful as they experience an upsurge in price at a very fast pace. In my opinion, coins like Binance Coin (BNB), Solana, and even Shiba Inu are quite overrated while others like Flow (from Dapper Labs) and WAVES are underrated (especially when they're smart contract platforms like the ones previously mentioned). The market is all about hype these days, so any coin that's able to bring the attention of the masses (no matter if it's a "shitcoin") will experience new All-time-highs in price.

Which coin(s) do you think are underrated for 2021? Do you think 2022 will be a big year for altcoins? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

What you say is true but no coin, no matter how good the technology it offers is, will ever make it without a community. Best example is DOGE. Pretty poor technology, but lots of strong community. In addition to that it is also about timing and about larger investors backing a coin. Solana went so far because there are some very capable and probably rich people involved.

As you eventually put it: the markets are all about hype these days and people are jumping back and forth between different coins all the time. Will that ever change? I doubt it.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cardano run $200 on: December 03, 2021, 03:06:04 PM
Cardano can reach $200 when BNB price reaches at least $50k, although Cardano is a good coin but still too dependent on external factors like bitcoin and BNB prices, it may take at least 3 years to reach $200.

That is not going to happen anytime soon, those price ranges are just unrealistic because they don't fit into any reasonable economic context anymore. Some people like BNB, some like ADA, some ETH and some BTC, but if all of those coins reach what some hope for those coins to reach, the overall market cap of crypto just stands in no justifiable relation anymore to any other asset class or product segment.

297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Next 10-100x coin? on: August 12, 2021, 10:08:27 AM
What are your small cap gems that you think will 10x or 100x in the next few months? Do such coins even exist anymore with how saturated the market has become? It seems there are dozens of new coins every day.
Now it's getting harder and harder to determine which coin will reach 10x or even 100x in the next few months because the competition between coins is getting more and more so that it can influence coin users to look better than the previous one.

It is getting harder and harder also because there are so many more people in the market trying to spot opportunities like these. Once detected the news spread like fire and the opportunity for such returns shrinks by the second with every new investor joining the game. You need to be early, quick and attentive to the whole market in order to spot such an opportunity before all others do and already drive the price up to levels where 100x returns are impossible to be attained.
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth buying other cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin? on: August 12, 2021, 10:06:31 AM
In my opinion, besides Bitcoin, altcoins are very worth buying such as ETH, BNB, TRX, LTC. many people switch to buying altcoins when the price of Bitcoin experiences a high price increase. My advice, a more important factor to consider before buying another cryptocurrency is that the concept offered by the development team is really promising in the future. Ethereum example. One of the reasons it is worth investing in Ethereum is the increasing use of Blockchain technology. Ethereum has introduced dApps and smart contracts that allow users to conduct transactions without intermediaries. This attracts more and more successful crypto traders. This is because blockchain technology facilitates online payments, loan distribution, and commodity trading.

I understand most of your list but why would you have BTC and LTC within one and the same portfolio? Isn't Litecoin doing the exact same thing as Bitcoin? And what about Tron? Is Tron able to compete with Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain? To me it more and more seems that Tron will have an extremely hard time in establishing itself as a viable platform against the others. It may surely pump regardless, that is true, but from a technical point of view where is the sweet spot for Tron here?
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum pump on: August 12, 2021, 10:04:21 AM
Well the big move has occurred, it has already reached $ 3k this is a great move that many did not see possible, however now everyone wants to see ETH much higher, and with the naked eye in the blink of an eye that BTC can reach the $ 50k, it is likely that ETH can reach $ 4k, it is not ruled out, it is very possible, without falling into FOMO:

Quote
The bulls will now try to resume the uptrend and push the price to $3,500 and then to the psychological resistance at $4,000. However, the sharp rally of the past few days has pushed the relative strength index (RSI) into the overbought territory.
Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/price-analysis-8-9-btc-eth-bnb-ada-xrp-doge-dot-uni-bch-link

I do not see the movement of ETH as a big pump, I see it as an eventual movement that has been executed successfully thanks to the bullish rally of BTC, if BTC continues to rise it is obvious that ETH will also rise, it will rise by a much higher percentage than BTC , this is what many are waiting for to happen, that is why those who bought in the dip are making big  profits.

Hm, but it seems a bit like there is too much uncertainty now not least from the news about the infrastructure bill. Would Bitcoin really go that high with the uncertainty in the back of the bulls heads? It won't be easy to tear down the 50k mark.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen to Binance? on: August 12, 2021, 10:02:26 AM

Is MtGox 2.0 incoming
https://youtu.be/HufsDhSm834

I don't really think that binance is planning a rugpull i mean they are making billions of profit every year with their exchange so why would they even need to do a rugpull. I don't say though that the tweets that are shown in the video are not true or that this did not happen but i also think that it is pretty normal that you will always find a handful or maybe even a few hundreds of users that had a bad experience or even experienced some kind of scams if you have millions of users, but this does not necessarily mean that the exchange itself is a scam. It could have just been 1 employee of binance that was doing shady things or just a simple mistake.

This reminds me of our good old friend "Big Vern" from Cryptsy back in the early days. The exchange was running well, yet it disappeared out of a sudden and Big Vern even left the country I believe. I was just trying to google search what actually happened to him, but can't find anything. The reason I bring this up is because I was about to say that I can't imagine CZ doing a rug pull as he is a global celebrity so to say. Most of the people who are deeply involved with crypto might detect him somewhere. How would he hide as a billionaire? That seems impossible to me unless he is alright with living like a homeless or on an island where you get fucking bored after a while even with billions.
