281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 3070 recommended PSU vs TDP on: December 04, 2021, 02:41:36 PM
Hi there mining experts,

I'm planning to build a mining rig using six GeForce RTX 3070 TUF GPU and trying to find out what is the maximum power output need to be made available by the PSU. I have noticed the manufacture recommended PSU is 650w but in this forum lot of the expert discuss about it's TDP being 220w.

I was hoping if someone could tell why the TDP is vastly different to recommended PSU wattage.

Thanks

well 6x gpu rtx 3070 rigs at maximum efficiency using 1600w psu platinum should be fine, better using 2000w just in case some spike happen

dont buy cheap psu, when thats six gpus costly at current market and psu still msrp or even lower, get platinum or titanium psu
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with Cuda Capability 3 (GTX 770) it is possible? on: December 04, 2021, 11:40:02 AM
Mining with Cuda Capability 3 (GTX 770) it is possible? I saw T-Rex and Phoenixminer and they need Cuda Capability 5-6
is doable and posible for experiment not for profit, and many new miner dont optimize older gpu, and most of them doesnt support anymore

the gpu efficiency is really bad for this generation and even gaming you wont get new feature from current method the engine works
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I made the right decision in November on: December 04, 2021, 11:34:30 AM
Early last month I created a topic about me selling some of my GPUs fir altcoins, the link to the old topic is here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5369963.msg58385787#msg58385787
And today I will like to drop an update on what's happening, I made the right decision people, now I can afford more GPUs and Motherboards once this bull season is over, thanks to Gala, Sand, MoBOx, dogedash and few others, I'm not here to confuse miners though but if you are new and looking forward to build mining rigs first invest that money on good coins because

1. We are still in bull market
2. Graphics cards are still too high in price
3. Altcoins brings more profits in short term Vs mining

The choice is still yours though, just make sure you do your own research
yes thats true better holding coin or buy when its cheap at bullrun specially final phase, and gpus at the peak their price

waiting bear market and build rigs is more reasonable and many miner will dump their gpu, crashing the price
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Staking a better option over mining? on: December 04, 2021, 11:31:32 AM
With the way things are going with crypto adoption is it still reasonable to go for mining instead of staking? To be honest it looks like staking very very good altcoins like solana avalanche among others are better way of earning incomes than mining, what do you guys think?
no. the money need to buy the coin is quite large same as mining, but if you thinking alt staking if the coin goes down, you lost money

only stable coin staking are profitable but only 6%apy which is not much different deposit on bank, and risk to hack you will lost everything
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on 3050ti on: December 01, 2021, 04:45:01 PM
How come? Is 3050ti a LHR card? Cos it performs so fast in gaming I was expecting more than 30MH on ETH mining, 22MH sucks for such a high end GPU, even my 1660 gtx do 27MH max, this is a huge turn off for me lol, thanks for sharing

You can't compare a laptop GPU with a desktop version of the same model, look at the specs of each for a better
comparison. But yes it's probably LHR too.
there is lhr gpu in laptop gaming, all gpu is unlocked and lower memory speed is expected on laptop series compared desktop

and power limit can overide by bios flashing, well with thath number 20mhs thats run poorly compared rtx 3060 laptop thath run 38-48mhs depend on memory speed tied by power limit
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 100% fan speed RTX 3080 ? on: December 01, 2021, 04:38:38 PM
here are my settings overclocking my FHR 3080, however the fan speed is usually at  90-100%, is that ok for the fan on the long run ?

is it ok to keep fan on auto for 24x7 mining ?

http://grabilla.com/0bb1c-efa0c082-36cf-4b04-8dab-19f42d3bb499.png

also is it ok to maintain 108c for memory temp to mine 24x7 or what temp to maintain for 24x7 mining ?...
wth keeping 108c memory lol  Grin that vram wont lasting enough till waranty dead, and the sign of burned will showing under bare eyes,

its should be fine running fan at 90-100 all the time, some fan maybe dead arround 2-4years in my experience, how that possible memory run at 108c  Cheesy
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will be the Fate of miners in 2022 on: December 01, 2021, 04:31:20 PM
Today is December 1st 2021 and I will like to know how your mining experience have been so far, also what do you think about mining in 2022 do you think it's a good time to buy graphic cards? What happened to all those warning us to stop buying cards few months ago? I've made back my ROI already  Cheesy what about you?
this bullrun expected longer than previous history, might be til summer 2022, and for mining profit, surely jump in last final phase and sinking after crypto dump

sure till end of this year mining still profitable at 0.1$ electric price, and from my experience break even will occur 1,5 year from crypto dump, then unprofitable till spark again
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: anyone got a 1030 mining? on: November 30, 2021, 12:18:08 PM
Hello there,

does anyone have a 1030 4gb mining (its definitely 4gb not the usual 2gb) ? Wondering what output it gives...
i sold rx 480 stuck in my pc for nothing at 420$ and buoght 1030 just for operating os, because is the cheapest gpu for run 4k60 monitor

so dont think this gpu capable earning some bucks these days, and not worthed to wait for thath, atleast you can learn gpu mining by this
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCI Riser USB Cable on: November 30, 2021, 12:07:43 PM
Can you use any USB Cable for a PCI Riser ?
Because i bought one on amazon, and it was not working, my Mainboard was making noises.
But id didnt find anything in the Internet on Riser specific USB Cables.
I need a new one, because the 60cm from the standard one is not enough.

kind regards
yes, you can use usb 3.0 to replace 60cm from riser, but didnt know how long the cable will running fine for mining, i'm using 1 meter cable and doing fine

on aliexpress is pretty damn cheap and free shipping, or you can request from seller to swap the cable for the longer one, if you buying later in the future
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: B250 BTC 12P -12GPU Mining Motherboard @$139 worth it? on: November 30, 2021, 12:01:51 PM
Hi all,
last few weeks it was really hard finding mining hardware at normal prices, few days ago found this MB with B250 and 12 GPU support under $150 including shipping, what do you think? anyone have some info on those unbranded MB's?
Found on Banggood:
Use code: aff7off

[/quote
nope doesnt worth for chinese brand, just buy gigabyte fintec b250 lower price and best stability but only vga output,

use monitor with vga input compared hdmi sometimes getting black screen instead even all running ok, the mobo arround 100$ in my country
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alt season + mining profits on: November 28, 2021, 07:14:36 AM
If we see huge alt market at the end of the year will this affect crypto mining profitability? I remember in 2017 where even a 30MH gives 10$ to miners due to loads of sell and buy in that time being

that would be insane with my 1.3 GH/s, I wish I started mining in 2017 Sad
Nope you wont, basically people will say "i wish know this earlier" which is at that time people will see as scam on crypto, then when crypto rise that people will saying the same and regretting old times, thats human, will doing those things all over again and again, only smart one who got chunk of fortune became early participant
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: If you had $1M USD to setup mining op & sell first contract before 12/31? on: November 28, 2021, 07:04:56 AM
With 1M form hard money, i would love to buy 250k for gpus with overpriced, or buying sha256 asic for btc mining, 250k buying btc/eth, 250k in cash for safety, another 250k for alt, please dont yoloing all that money to one bucket on crypto, be logical dont get to emotional
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New mining software on: November 28, 2021, 06:58:58 AM
BTC Guys I have a question. Im currently using NiceHash Miner but I wanna know If there is a better way to mine.
Can anyone help Huh
First what are you using to mine? Fpga, asic, cpu, drive, gpu? If gpu amd or nvidia? There some good mining software here, nvdia trex miner, amd teamred miner, nicehash miner is gui one, but u can use other miner to stay mining on them, better to mine in other pool instead using nicehash, i do remember when steal my coin and payback 12 months which is the value already down
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ergo FPGA PoC - ~2.75MH/W on: November 28, 2021, 06:51:02 AM
Some of you may remember me from my old account, Wolf0 (which I no longer have access to, as I got rid of the email I used long ago.) I'm still developing miners. Recently, I've been working on a miner for a coin called Ergo. Ergo uses a new proof of work known as Autolykos2 ( described here: https://docs.ergoplatform.com/ErgoPow.pdf ), which requires a large dataset in memory to mine. This dataset increases in size every 51,200 blocks, with a 2 minute block time. Currently mined with GPUs, and widely believed to be FPGA and ASIC resistant, this is the first FPGA miner (that I know of). While I have no clue what I'll be doing with it yet (releasing or otherwise), it performs slightly better than a 3070 per FPGA, at nearly half the wattage.

My miner is still in alpha stage - just a proof-of-concept, but I am currently mining it with a JC35 (Jungle Cat 35P) FPGA board which features two XCVU35P FPGAs, each with 8GB of HBM2 memory. Performance (currently, it will get better) is 178MH/s or so. Power is around 65W, at 0.75V core and 1.15V memory. Clocks are 415Mhz (core) and 1100Mhz (memory). These can go lower or higher to gain efficiency or hashrate.

As usual, I have a screenshot (and as usual, it is NSFW, so I did not inline the image): https://i.imgur.com/aIyhu2b.png
Oh. Really you're legendary wolf0, where is the account now?, Cannot find that account in here anymore are you get banned?, But weird is wolf0 i do remember when first time i"m mining he didn't post like this and really different personalities, good to hear if you are real wolf0
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TeamRedMiner 0.8.6 - Ethash/FiroPow/Kawpow/Etchash/Autolykos2 and More on: November 27, 2021, 10:53:51 AM
With new change on ergo mining, makes my vegas worthless compared eth mining before

And forcing gaining coreclock doesnt worth to try, gpu temp already reach stable maximum for long term running, so i'm back mining eth again and compete with nvidia&asic mining, sadly  Sad
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Introduce RigMaster - Overclock, optimize, and error fix your Nvidia ETH Rig on: November 27, 2021, 10:50:19 AM
Well nvidia is tend to be easy for optimization, no need bios or memory timing compared amd gpus, so you basically offering small bump for noobs miner
The risk using kind that software from newbie account is riskier than small bump if that working,
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Experiment of bringing back a dead coin. on: November 27, 2021, 10:42:15 AM
Hello to all of you, I am experimenting with bringing a dead coin back to life. It's been dead since 4 years ago, I want to bring it back as part of an experiment. I lack enough technical specs and need help with the correct information to get this done. Thank you!
Grin what coin are you suggesting, turnaround story for dead coin always fit in final bullrun. Many dead coin already revival and make 100x gain, if you had agreement with pumper team, and a legendary coder, but these day pumpet tend to be minting new coin and move
298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Stupid Mining Question on: November 27, 2021, 10:34:56 AM
Hi guys,
I would like to start mining, but I have never mined before. I am thinking of selling some altcoins and buying cards or whatever is needed for mining. But how to pick the best coin? What is the most profitable one that you would suggest? Also, in my country is hard to find good graphic cards right now, and I wouldnt buy used cards. Can I mine good coins without cards, using something else?
Yes you can mine chia with ssd and standar cpu,
Mining raptoreum with cpu quite profitable at very moment or mining monero using threadripper which is to expensive, or buying gaming laptop is doable and more sense based on price condition
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: maybe im stupid igpu question on: November 25, 2021, 05:57:29 PM
heres what i want to do and i have done it in the past

i use to be able to mine with phoenix miner and play games at the same time without any hashrate loss.
i  did this on my 3400g processor. it has an internal graphic built in.
i now have a 5700g with built in. its a new system and when i play age of empires 4 it will take my 3080 from 98m/h to like 20.
my other system would continue mine full hashrate.
is there  a settings im missing?
i have plugged monitor into the motherboard and not the 3080
  thanks for any help
you bassicaly wan play game render on igpu, but that depend on the game itself, mostly run dedicated gpu, in laptop you can use nvidia control panel to switch automaticaly what gpu are used for gaming, in desktop pc its doable with modify setting in game config. well isnt easy with these method, only per-game implemented not global override
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is GPU mining really dying? on: November 25, 2021, 05:51:20 PM
yes i feel that gpu mining side dying out without new algo dedicated for gpu mining, if eth fully switched we are doomed, no many left gpu mineable coin can accomodate

those gpu farm out there at current state, but smaller miner still doable, with standar or lower electric prices, hope some developer bring another mineable gpu algo
