i'm join crypto because interested on folding first, but at the end mining crypto became my obsesion and hobbies, just heard from couple years ago coin like this with similiar purpose
benefit when we helping research for humanity
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Show me your watt power draw on: March 05, 2021, 12:22:52 PM
Can someone actually prove to me that their single rig is pulling more watt power than what miner software is displaying? Show me some wattmeter result and I'd shut up thanks, anyways I'm just too poor to buy a wattmetter like some suggested
lol you can buy gpu but to poor for buying 10$ wattmeter and yeah miner only showing core gpu, not include memory & board watt, you should buy one just in case for monitoring when you optimized the gpus efficiency
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ways to make card last longer on: March 05, 2021, 12:06:00 PM
Hi, I'm new to mining and I started mining just yesterday with my single 3070 founders edition in HiveOS. I wanted to know a few things but before that have a look at my settings:

Now what I want is to my card last me forever (long enough for it to lose its value and become obsolete) and for it to last that long I heard keeping it cool and making fan not running at 100% is the key because I don't want to lose my fan either. I don't really mind if its not running the maximum hashrate it can get. I'm not a professional miner, I'm just doing this as a hobby and that's the reason I want my card to be safe. Could you guys please look at the charts and tell me what needs to be changed? What is the best core temperature and best memory temperature for the card for keeping it safe? what's the best autofan settings to keep my fan safe?. Any additional tips and tricks are always welcome. Sorry if some of the question seems stupid, this is my first time mining and I learned what I could from youtube but it doesn't explain everything. Thank you very much.

for nvidia gpu no mod on memory applied only oc-ed the memory clock so its that safe for long term and dont mind for the fans, you can replace it for cheap

dont forget change thermal paste each year and cleaning the gpus twice a year
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Missed this mining craze already on: March 05, 2021, 12:01:55 PM
Hi guys, I'm just looking back in time though I'm not a time traveler lol, heard it's too late to start buying gpu for mining right now but assuming one did buy some 6 months ago they would have made their ROI back already? Cos 6months back gpu are still affordable correct? So how about waiting for bear market once again and be on look out for any new bull season? Probably few years later? God damn what was I doing all this time? 🤔
very well indeed  Cheesy you missed the train, but train will stop in matters of months from now, better you buy gpus when thats happen, because the bull run will continue after that

so there is on chance to get in board at gpu price above 20-40% from msrp, you can buy second hand at panic seller happen
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash power saving on: March 04, 2021, 03:09:19 PM
Anyone using Nicehash software here? I find something interesting using the software today and I've been trying to find ways to limit power draw when mining but Nicehash did the trick, I mined ethereum using gtx1660super at 31mh @82 watts max and also rx580s at 30mh using 80watts then I find out that Nicehash have power control, I though it was for show until I activate it in settings and click on low power mode, this decrease all my gpu power draw to 75 -76 watts for both the Nvidia and AMD cards, awesome, if you haven't done this it's worth checking out if you care about more power saving
dont depend on software measurment you need to use wattmeter to see real power usage and dont to much trust on people posting about low power gpu before you tried by yourself, and there is no such thing polaris mining under 100w except you life on iceland  Cheesy & got best silicon lottery
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3060 Hash rates - a couple actual hash rates and a small ROI chart- NVIDIA Fail on: March 04, 2021, 03:05:45 PM
the number will upside down soon, and we're ready for it, the plane will crash and many miner will jump from the board

some gpus will hit the market again, and gamer will be happy to grab from miner panicking, hope your not leaving the ships as we do
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Planing my first Mining Rig in Argentina on: March 04, 2021, 02:56:26 PM
Hello @all

short story im in argentina and im planning to build my first mining rig.

BUT im confused and need a bit of your support maybe its only a thinking mistake.

I was thinking to use a Saphire RX 580 or invest a bit more and buy a nvidia rtx 3060.
I calculated on nicehash.com the winning with my data

Rx 580 -  around 100$/ month   invest for the Card 750$
Nvidia 3060 - around 110$/month  invest for the card 1500$

No my question

Which arguments are for the RX580 ? it looks like a good buisness the price is fair, the people have good experience with the card

but im only a bit unsecur maybe you could help me a bit

best greets

( sorry my englisch is not perfect but i hope its ok and you can understand what i mean )

rx580 is bad for new price, better to buy rx vega second hand, 3060 actually at this very moment only mining beside eth which is not par profit with other coins

wait for while soon more gpu at good price came to market
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NVIDIA is cutting the 3060's Hash Rate in Half & NEW Mining specific GPU's on: March 03, 2021, 02:32:30 AM
at this current market rtx 3060 sell at 700$ in my country but the laptop one sell at 1200$ and you got full speed on laptop, considerable cheap for laptop cost only 1200$ you got latest core i5,512nvme,16gigs ddr4,and 144lcd and lower power consumption on mining but bad for long run
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining pool cheats? on: March 03, 2021, 02:29:12 AM
I mined for 24hrs using Viabtc pool with 93mh, base on calculators I'm supposed to earn 8$ to 8.5$ per day but I ended up with 6$, coming from Nicehash it seems that Nicehash is still way better, I hardly get a single rejection in Viabtc pool while I get my shares rejection in Nicehash but still Nicehash is way better in profit wise, what surprised me is I keep watching the calculator while mining on Viabtc around the 24hrs spent on the pool and still shows 8$, is this somekind of cheating
at this very moment there is only small pool who cheated the rewards, and you can complain about it because of "luck" things this will make excuse, viabtc is old pool and reputable one

most likely they wont do this, try other big pool rather than nicehash,
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Worth building a farm at 0.047 usd/kwh on: March 03, 2021, 02:24:52 AM
So I live in Ukraine, and I was thinking of building a farm here. Electricity here is super cheap at around 0.047usd/kwh. Also 12x rx580 8gb farm would cost me around 6000usd. Now calculating profitability I would be able to make 900usd a month and return my initial investment in 7 months. This sounds great with everything suitable and the fact that Ukraine is super cold U don't even need fans to cool ur rig. But am worried about the upcoming eip-1559 update and the current state of ethereum and its high gas fees. Do you guys think I could profit from this or I should stay away from mining at the moment?.
at your rate even at the worst bear market you still profitable, me mine at 0.11 and sometimes of during bear market, so basically at current situation gpu price already inflated 2x and many gpus already out of stock, my advice wait for next  3 month after mining continue down, some miner will sell their gear for cheap, then you can enter the market
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining - Am I better off inventing time travel? on: March 02, 2021, 12:23:35 PM
I mined LTC and a few other scrypt coins back in 2013-2014 using a small GPU based farm and am now thinking about jumping back into mining after a few years off; is it nucking futs to want to rock a GPU farm for a few solves again, or has the supremacy of ASIC's really made this insane to consider even IF I had a zero cost power solution?

What says you, bitcointalk?
lol your posting like back in time when 2015 meme flux capacitor for time travel machine as gawd xpy scamming everyone, thats was crazy fun on 2015 bear market

the first time i join crypto community many ppl here posting meme & dreaming about btc heading 100k, now we're near from that, crypto industrial magic coin lol, remind me dev cravecoin
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pools locations and servers matter? on: March 02, 2021, 12:10:08 PM
I'm using europe location on nicehash which is the nearest to my location but getting bad performance but changing to Japan server solves all the issue, stability is better now but what I'm confused about is Japan is more far away so but instead it fixed my issue
most likely the server to overload as EU server is most crowded on many pools and more miners join because bigger chance to get block & hoping get more "luck" rewards
i'm using 2 server pools instead one for balance rewards
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Miners in panic mode on: March 02, 2021, 12:06:01 PM
Many miners are panicing already, yesterday I got two calls from my lebanese friends asking me if I would like to buy their GPUS,  Grin Grin Grin, they later cut off the deal because my price is low, of course why would I buy GPUS at high price at this point in time? Here is my thoughts anyways

I am hoping that some miners will panic sell so I can get some GPUs cheaper, I'm in for long term anyways
only small miner who bought gpu at high price who panicked already and most likely they bought gpu on loan, they worried will burn them

same as me, i'm hoping many miner dump their gpus at market and many gpu seller will get rekted to because they to greed to make profit
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Recently came into possession of two AMD pro duo cards (Fiji) on: March 01, 2021, 01:02:51 PM
Basically theyre two R9 Nano cards smashed into one PCB with a closed loop water cooling.

What is the best thing to mine with these at the moment? Eth is out of the question due to DAG size.
this very rare gpu 2 fury nano in one board with liquid cooling but limited to 4gb cards which is obsolete for eth mining

back in time this gpu more efficent on many algo compared to polaris or vega, but limited gpu and only small ppl who owned makes miner dev not support/optimized for newer algo
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3060 Hash rates - a couple actual hash rates and a small ROI chart- NVIDIA Fail on: March 01, 2021, 10:02:00 AM
what about progpow there is still good coin beside eth to mine with this quite handy number of cuda core, should be faster than predecessor in term compute algo

with memory algo ddr6 pretty efficent and quite fast, sadly i cant get on sale, now they 2x msrp lol
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: When will I break even? on: March 01, 2021, 09:55:38 AM
I spent money on three gtx1660 ti for 430$ each from china and I've only make 150$ back today, I'm worried when will I break even because so many people told me I did the wrong thing, they told me bear market is that I will never make my money back, is this true?
Grin Grin Grin dang to expensive for 1660 ti, and mining continue downhill until june this year, and we're going to recover on august most likely, relax you will got money back

yeah yo're late on  mining party..... Grin
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New 10 KW Solar Mining Project on: February 28, 2021, 09:21:12 AM
Time for a new Solar Mining Project!
I have 10 KW worth of solar panels on the way.
For this one I think the direction I want to go is with one of the grid backup Inverters, not grid tied, only grid backup.
It will be like a UPS only using the grid as the battery.
There will be a small battery bank just to make things smother during switch overs.

For the most part this system will only mine during the day but will have the option to mine on grid power if there is a reason to, like ETH now...

The way it looks the profit will be higher only mining 6 - 8 hrs on solar vs 24/7 on grid power at my $.10/KWh but obviously less coins.

What do you guys think?
Will it be viable in the long run?
solar mining mostly benefit when bear/winter hit crypto mining and ups as backup when shadow from the cloud hit solar which is you need big battery, dont expect to much for earning full power solar 5-6hrs/day, and you need the most efficient rig on the current hardware, from solar to inverter to psu you loss 15-20% of power,

we're on bullrun for next 1 year, and 0.1kwh still doable until 2year forward and most likely we wont see big dip like 2019 again, i'm mining at 0.11kwh,  only 1 year turn off at some middle 2019 and 2020
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Tahiti GPUs (Radeon 7950 / 7970 / 280X / 7990 ) Owners Appreciation Thread on: February 27, 2021, 08:03:15 AM
tahiti, fuji, polaris had each one of them for museum purpose only, hanging around the wall, my greatest gpus and they still alive but not worth for using it, remind me for good old days  Grin
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining reward shrinking on: February 27, 2021, 07:56:12 AM
Mining reward is reducing and bitcoin is back at 47k for now, what do you think is going on? Why is reward going down?
that depend on how happen in eth network, if less transaction = less reward + eth price down 25%, and we're going further lower in next days as bitcoin&eth price shinking

just hoping for another panic seller on token, the fees will raise the rewards for miner
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Have 4GB Cards Gone Obsolete with ETH mining? on: February 26, 2021, 03:00:33 PM
I had some cards laying around since the 2016 mining frenzy, and decided to recently build back my rigs on SMOS.

I noticed though that all my 4GB cards are hashing at 8mh/s while my 8GB cards are hashing at their normal ~30MH/s speed

Is there any way to increase the mining speed for those 4gb cards? They are pretty useless at those speeds, especially their power draw is the same as when they were hashing at ~28

Would appreciate any help in getting those 4GB cards to hash some profits with better hashrate.

Running Phoenix Miner v5.5 (Tried previous Phoenix versions as well)
4gb gpu can miner other coin on less network before asic & fpga take over, so basically you need daily update which coin is more profitable, thats make 4gb unfavorable on most of miners, if you good times so be it you can switch algo anytimes
