DeepBit, when is the round time going to be fixed? o.o
This information was not important because precise block timestamps are provided anyway in the first column. But ok, I enabled it.

Thank you, it's just nice to see it, rather than calculating it in my head Cheesy

Too bad they're not 80+ gold Cheesy

AMD has a limit of 8 GPUs.

They released open source drivers. Anything is possible

Which don't support OpenCL.

Then I stand corrected.  6x 7970 with 1x 5970 Smiley

Of course it's possible o.o

This one has room for 6 cards.  Could be useful for 6x 5970 or 6x 6990 in x64 linux

287  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: This rig plan any good? on: April 11, 2012, 09:28:38 PM
I have that board, runs 4 gpu's on 3 cards nicely.

I bought it open box for 55$ however.  I'd recommend a board with more pcie x1 slots though. 1 isn't enough for expansion.

Remember if you plan on getting bigger, you're going to kick yourself for not getting the proper equipment.

Would you rather spend 70$ on a psu that's 600W and have to buy another for an additional 70$ when the time comes?

How did you get your memclock < 710?  Did you bios flash?

85% efficiency?  Get a better PSU.

Also would be nice if you have/get a Kill-A-Watt so you can compare calculated load @ wall w/ actual load at wall.

Very interesting. Also interested in the actual load as I don't believe the input power for the memory, while tiny, is included. Might be time to pick up a used 7970 myself.

Does not matter.  Voltage is read going into the card as well as the amperage.  Memory voltage is drawn off that main voltage.

Working on it. And it's in the computer I'm running now.  When I upgrade I'll buy a higher quality one.

wow, what programs do you use to set the clock speed/memory/voltage?

For a long time i was running mine at 978mhz 1.043v with MSI afterburner beta

Msi afterburner.  I downclock memory in cgminer, because afterburner doesn't like to lower it past 850.

Also what card are you using? I seem to have better luck with the Black Edition cards as they appear to be higher binned.

xfx 7970 black edition.  76.7% ASIC quality

Still venturing lower Cheesy

Clock: 1000mhz
Memory: 710mhz
Voltage: 0.968

Mhash/s: 580

Power based on GPU-Z

(12.09v * 10.5A) = 127W

Take into account 85% efficienct: 127*1.15 = 146W

580/146W = 3.97 Mhash/W

Smiley

Update:

Dropped voltage down to .955v 100% stable.

(12.09v * 10.2A) = 123.3W

85% efficiency: 123.3*1.15 = 141.8W

580/141.8 = 4.09Mhash/W

Is there a way to do auto fan while using phoenix? Or is that only for cgminer?

Any update on the timestamp situation?
Timestamps are precise, but the block length wasn't. I changed the way it is calculated and testing it now.

Yes, that's what I meant Tongue

Thank you for the prompt fixing!

Just wondering, is there a way to have a bash script run at start up?
299  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7870 and 7850 are here! Anyone bought yet? on: March 21, 2012, 02:56:32 AM
Calculated hash rate for 7850 is 255mhs on stock clocks.
7870 = 370mhs and both cards worthless as investment like a 79xx series.
I think real hashrate will be identical to calculated values.

The only perk the 7 series has with it is power usage.  Other than that, Mh/$ is still 5xxx series.  But 7 series are nice to have as future proof. nice warranties too.

I have a feeling 7970 will reign top tog until the dual GPU card comes out.  For the 7 series at least.
