281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Online phishing scheme steals bitcoin from dark web users on: October 11, 2016, 11:28:06 PM
I find it interesting that people that understand bitcoin can also have a unfavourable thinking on the darknet setup.
They both achieve a similar goal and to put ones nose up is to not fully grasp what bitcoin is able to achieve outside the limits.

The lines often blur when you having any vigilante activity and money is involved.

283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Approves Two Scam-Like Bitcoin Apps Again, Due Diligence in Question on: October 11, 2016, 04:41:34 PM
Makes sense for them to allow scammers on to their app site,it achieves two goals. One it discourages people from using bitcoin and the other is it advertises applepay by showing how bad certain aspects of bitcoin can be. Its actually typical of Apple and the conquer the world agenda they push with each product release. Every little aspect is chewed over to bring more money into their pockets.

Was watching the news this morning and they where showing a trend right now of people setting the timer on their cell and throwing the phone in the air and it taking a photo. How many cell phones you think will break achieving this dumb trend? Now you think it was a cell phone company that started the trend! Cheesy
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin was made illegal by your government would you still use it? on: October 10, 2016, 06:28:35 PM
The idea of bitcoin becoming illegal is only going to drive short term thinkers out of the market. Presume it is illegal now and act accordingly and you will have your eggs in a row when the day comes for the axe. Makes no sense to me to worry about this potential when we should be working it like it is already illegal.
Times change and what was acceptable is now the virus the world wants to stamp out,the reason few think this way is age and not knowing how history works.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: McAfee’s MGT Goes Into Bitcoin Mining, With Massive Amount of Hardware on: October 10, 2016, 06:25:26 PM
Find he is a hard man to understand which way he is looking to go when it comes to creation/investment. Like he considers himself a chess master and leading the public one way well pulling a defeat on the other side of the table.
Would think this issue between him and DOTcom will help promote both parties when the day comes for them to turn a large profit. Whatever is being planned would have to have a smaller window than 2 years I would think, just based on his age alone.

Funny how China is always brought up when it comes to the electricity, really has become a factor that is overriding bitcoin. Be interesting if we could alter that aspect and free bitcoin a tad.
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IIUC, Vancouver has the very first BTC ATM ever on: October 10, 2016, 06:19:30 PM
Not the first, lots in my country as well

If you go back and look it was the first or one of the first rolled out at the time. Was for sure the first in Canada and was connected to Robocoin but the interesting issue was the KYC rules never where enforced. Was really confused when I was reading all the information that Americans where having to supply to transact and was kind of worried it might trickle into our usage as well, but never did. Those that attempt to,usually end up with ATMs that are not used much if at all.

The price is always tricky to pin down because we are converting from USD to CAD as well as cash to bitcoin. Find the fee is usually split between these two factors and more than I was expecting. But nothing so crazy that it is armed robbery,I enjoy being able to go in and do a transaction and then bounce around town and come back on my way out of downtown and grab my money. You can wait for one confirmation but I hate people staring at me wondering what I am up to. Grin
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: European Drug Report: Dark Net Rising in Use, Making Drugs Safer on: October 07, 2016, 10:59:17 PM
Good, I'm very happy with that. It shows how a totally unregulated market can get better, delivering better products to the consumers, without any state intervention. When everybody will have understood thta, there will be more people wondering about the utility of government.

War on drugs has failed in most peoples eyes, the anti government stance is one that is harder to really uproot.
Government as nasty as it can be at times, does serve a purpose. For example I have construction all around me as they tear
down the houses built 30-45 years ago to max out the lots or sub divide and put two up instead of one. If there where no rules I would be listening to nails being banged all day and all night. The concrete would not have rebar as it is to expensive and a easy corner to cut. Hell they could knock down my house and I would either have to fight or give up because there is no rules or regulations.

I like to see changes but not all at once, the world has far to many retarded folks to just go full on no government.
Not saying I do not hear the plight and not saying I do not agree, just think the issue is little more murky than black and white.
288  Other / Off-topic / Re: When and why did you start using Bitcoin? on: October 07, 2016, 08:52:44 PM
Pokerstars and Pinnaclesports stopped taking the last way I could deposit,so I shopped around and found I could gamble on bitcoin sites. Was the combo of seeing something about it on the news as well or reading a article and I googled bitcoin and found this forum.
That was back in 2013 I believe and I never really got into it till recently.
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IIUC, Vancouver has the very first BTC ATM ever on: October 07, 2016, 05:59:45 PM
One of my main atm locations, the guys there are pretty good and helped me out with my first purchase.
The coffee chain they are located in has quite a few bitcoin atms connected to them now,but still need one closer to my location.
This ATM on Howe always confused me when I was reading about people needing hand scans and what not, they had it disabled from day one.
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The danger of the cyptocurrencies on: October 07, 2016, 05:51:49 PM
Evolution.

Its a natural cycle and when bitcoin meets a wall we will be there for the next move towards a better system.
Bitcoin being corrupt or not is not a aspect I worry about,I presume it is and act accordingly. My grandfather never had a library card because he believed the government looked at what you where reading! If you let a bit of tinfoil into the thinking sphere, you may be better off and prepared down the road.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone here use BTCTraderBot? on: October 07, 2016, 05:38:16 PM
First post newbie account and no any other post, i think you are trying to promote this bot rather than trying to get review about it. Trusting bot with your trading account is riskier and also the profit over trading is not guaranteed. Bots could be better for altcoin devs to pump the price as well as volume in trading platform to dump later. I prefer to do manual trading.

Bingo.

Believe I saw this post before from another newbie member but I was unable to search it. Was either deleted or I fail at searching, which is more than likely.
Would be a pretty decent option to have threads promoting anything highlighted as new accounts like the pm feature offers, would cut down the click baiting some what.
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple Pay vs Bitcoins on: October 07, 2016, 05:32:47 PM
Bitcoin will last for the same reason the new google phone will not be in my pocket.
People still want a little bit of privacy and Apple/Google want to destroy more and more aspects of this till they fully own us.
People that do not put much thought into these things often will just adopt the quickest process with out any thought or concern.

Example of how Apple wants to control and profit. They have eliminated the headphone jack in the latest cell phone and offer wireless headphones to go along with the cell. They know people will be forced to buy their product and not a cheaper version,as nothing currently will work along it. They do this with many aspects, like altering their chargers to force you away from 3rd party chargers. Not perfect but they continually grind the consumer down.
Read that the headphones also can take your temp and heart rate and track your head movements. These are all to make better product or argue that they can fill in more aspects about you.
293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another major blow for illegal bitcoin shit - CEO of BackPage arrested! on: October 07, 2016, 05:14:30 PM
Starting to think these arrests around/relating to bitcoin are actually not as bad a I once used to see them.
Bitcoin has so many aspects of the wild wild west that it is going to attract a few people with moral issues, but the fact people are getting prosecuted may give new schemers pause.
For a well it felt like any kid with a laptop could pull a heist/scam and have no potential spray back for their crime.

Now more on the discussion topic. This almost looks like a setup to take the guy down. It seems if you have issues with the government you better keep your pecker in your pants or face the music. How many of us ask for Id for a one night stand?
Not saying I sleep around either but I know/knew girls that looked a lot older than they where. One girl when I was a kid was stripping at the age of 13 and you would never guess she was that young.

I often grapple with my view on this as I believe in a open world for everything to be done. But I have my limits like a lot of us do and mine is hurting those that can not afford it and kids. So I can not truely say I am for a open concept on the internet, knowing that these gross things go on. Beats me up knowing I have a fault thinking on this and unable to come to grasp with a solution.

294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: European Drug Report: Dark Net Rising in Use, Making Drugs Safer on: October 07, 2016, 01:03:01 AM
Interesting but why are so many people dying lately from drug use linked to the street level?
Dealers mixing fentanyl into all drugs seems to be lighting up the death toll. Have read the reasons for this but not sure I buy the Cartels finding this to be a easier game than cocaine fields. Think it points more towards China but the reason is some what unknown.

On the one hand the internet has made it easier but it also makes one bad person on one of these sites with a screw loose to bring the death toll up. Not every customer knows how to check their drugs or even bothers.
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NSA Hacked - Bad publicity for Bitcoin on: October 07, 2016, 12:56:17 AM
Hack the wrong people and bodies will quickly add up,look at the Clinton Foundation.

Think we are well into the phase of nothing being safe and it being best to think you have been compromised.
It should be a interesting war between so many different factions that are not even tied to a Country,as well as those that are.

NSA seem to have made some big blunders as of late and think they could be in for a shakeup.
296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do when BTC is overrun by a centralized mindset? on: October 07, 2016, 12:51:48 AM
I find it really interesting the perceived shift for bitcoin users from original holders to the current make a quick buck users.
If you where to believe this forum, you would think that the majority are now in it for the profit and that would spell the doom for bitcoin. But if we really think about this we know that the ole timers are still around holding, just not involved in the day to day of this forum.
If I had a established amount of bitcoins I would be saying very little as well. One it makes you a target and the other invites flood of people asking for handouts. You could write a indepth response and have it buried by three pages of people saying "I think"!

The state of bitcoin is still good if we can back these idiots off that want to control it for personal gain. Or the ones wanting to hand their nuts over to the goverment for the same reason. Its really startling how lemming like the quick profit crowd can come off.

Rambling aside I think its not all bad and we will get through it.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about the idea of a bitcoin shop in big cities? on: October 06, 2016, 05:32:02 PM
Bitcoin shops almost feel like those ebay stores that helped people sell their crap. It will be here one day and then people will realize they do not need it at all and have been paying for a service they could have done without the fee the company charges.
Mind you,it did shock me that those companies stayed afloat for so long. Must have been old folks trying to stay hip but not knowing how to navigate a computer.
As for places to buy/sell we have tons of places locally that offer bitcoin atms or you can deal with live merchants at two of the local exchanges that limit you to 10K a week without having to dabble in the KYC garbage.
298  Other / Off-topic / Re: What can i do with 3 Bitcoin? on: October 06, 2016, 04:58:37 PM
Always find questions like this a bit fleeting. Investing takes knowledge and the old saying "if you have to ask" applies heavily when you involve any form of money. The best thing some one could do was to learn the in and outs of bitcoin and then look into ways to make a profit.
You jump a step and you are sure to end up broke quicker than you think.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin comunity and cryptos coins comunity on: October 06, 2016, 04:55:48 PM
Not sure if seeking out more bitcoin forums is going to benefit you much.
Would be more interested in irc groups,as that would tap you into more knowledge from people interested, rather than posting to farm/sig or manipulate. Find for me it is hard to figure out where people stand here,so figuring out other websites as well relating to bitcoin would be to much work.
300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think bankers will destroy block chain tech, decentralization, bitcoin? on: October 06, 2016, 04:47:00 PM
Until I see a method of "destroying" bitcoin I have absolutely no concern about this.

Physically destroy or manipulate so that it is worth nothing?
These seem to be the same thing, least how I come to issue.

No one is really addressing the technology when they talk about bitcoin being destroyed, its the restrictions or making it obsolete.
Not attacking you,but I am curious what you are meaning when you state this opinion about destroying bitcoin. Wanted a response last time to explain the thinking, maybe you can address this. Smiley
