281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Timekoin on: June 19, 2012, 08:37:29 PM
Apparently it uses mysql, php and a webserver to run the whole thing.  Thus, there seems to be no blockchain?  Is that correct?
282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Doe this service exist, btc to debit card in usa? on: June 17, 2012, 09:53:43 AM
What I want to do is send btc to a debit card in the United States.  I don't care about buying BTC.  What I want is a nice visa/mc type debit card that can be used at any atm.  Then I just want send btc when I want to a bitcoin address. It will be converted at mtgox and the balance minus 2-3% sent to the card.  I want to be able to check the balance at the atm machine.  I want to be able to use this at grocery stores and fast food joints too.  I don't want to have to log into an account.

I want to use BTC as a full reserve bank, then use the btc at regular stores when I want it.  I don't care about btc to btc commerce for this.  I don't want the balance stored at an e-wallet site to be later hacked.  I prefer there not even be a website to check my balance for security.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin.org website (partially) back up on: June 11, 2012, 11:01:17 PM
Nice to see you are still around.  Maybe you could just eliminate the forums since they are just full of spam anyways and create a informational page.  It would also be nice to have alternative download for i0coin.    Seems liquidcoin and geistgeld might be dead, as vircurex shows no trading or hash rate.

284  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu - 60BTC guarantee tournament Sunday on: June 07, 2012, 04:46:45 AM
I think this site would be better off with a daily 10 BTC guaranteed  1 BTC entry at 9 p.m. PST than the Sunday tournament.  midnight madness for east coasters.
285  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should I vote for Walker in the imminent Wisconsin election? on: June 05, 2012, 05:10:15 AM
I will be voting to send Walker home tomorrow. I wish I could vote to hang him. Yuck!

Why.  you work at say Sears hard all day you get paid squat.  Then these public sectors expect it all providing really nothing in return.  They retire in California and the 1st thing these public sector feces do is move to Idaho and Nevada to avoid taxes.  All the while taking home $200K a year in retirement, ripping off taxpayers loading up on overtime in the last 2 years they work.  If you love government so much, why are you on the bitcoin boards?

288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Phoenix Coin interest on: May 28, 2012, 04:05:51 PM
If you back a currency with a U.S. dollar, instead of all the inflation going to federal government, it would go to local government.   What this means if you back $10 billion in local dollars, all the inflation would benefit the local community.  If the city placed that money in stocks or bonds, all the dividends and interest would be profit.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Ixcoin fork -> I0coin on: May 27, 2012, 09:43:30 AM
Has there been a chain fork? Vircurex shows the current block as 329,592. I did a full chain download using the i0coin.bitparking.com client and it has the block count as greater than 330,000. What client is vircurex running?

I use your 32509 client.
I started it about an hour ago - downloading blocks up to 330475.
Now -only about one hour later - and it's up to 330500 and counting (fast!)

Hope this helps and the whole situation gets cleared up - I kinda like i0coin!

Block count is now 330555. This makes 55 Blocks in this hour alone shown on my client. Hope this info helps anyhow ...

difficulty drops are unlimited.  But can only rise 25%.  Thus, if the network went down for 3 hours, that is what you may be seeing.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Phoenix Coin interest on: May 27, 2012, 08:03:45 AM
I think a local currency is a wonderful idea it brings back the spirit of free banking.   What I would do is go to a copper minter and print say 1 million phoenix copper coin bars.  You might back up each digital coin with 1 pound of copper bar (go to ebay to see what a 1 lb copper bar looks like).  Thus your coin might always have 1 million, then issue a digital coin for each copper bar.  Display the bars at city hall.  Thus local commerce would take place in a uniform centralized client where it could advertise local businesses and Arizona.

You might allow 1000 new copper bars to be minted every year.  But the government would control the address and back each coin with a lb of copper.  They might make 50% on each bar sold.

The client would be loaded with advertisements and travel destinations.  And maybe even an classified system where people can buy mechandise online and pick it up somewhere in the city.

Canada is planning to make a similar digital currency too.

Thus when someone trades in the digital coin for copper.  The government might either hold the digital coin, or re-back it with another lb of copper.  Thus you might have both copper bars and digital coins in the system, that exceed 1 million total.  Maybe 1.1 million digital and 2 million copper might exist.

Maybe if the coin also stretched into Nevada, it could be used as a universal gambling coin too.  Throw a bar of copper in a poker pot would be fun.  At least until someone gets mad an uses it as a weapon.

Maybe someone wants a paper bar.  So a private bank issues their own currency backed with bars.  But a word to the wise, don't let the bank make loans (fractional reserve lending).

Also unused digital coins for 2 years might become property of the city.  Another revenue stream.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Ixcoin fork -> I0coin on: May 27, 2012, 07:06:33 AM
there is an i0coin-qt client too i think.
Yes, I'll try a chain download using this and see if it's on a fork.

The linux and windows versions might be different too.

293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTCChina - Highest trading volume ever today on: May 27, 2012, 05:24:49 AM
The Chinese government can buy 1 million btc with $5 million, and then demand the U.S. use bitcoin for all the stuff they buy.
294  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [ANN] 700,000 Cash Deposit Locations in Brazil, Russia, USA - BitInstant on: May 27, 2012, 04:57:01 AM
I was initially excited at the prospect of buying bitcoins at walmart, but if an ID is required, my enthusiasm is dampened.

Do all these CVS/walmart/7-11 type services require ID?

Does bitinstant accept cash-in-the-mail or money orders?

No id is needed to deposit.  Only if you screw up and send $100 instead of $103.95.  zipzap will reject and then you have to call moneygram to get your money back.
295  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [ANN] 700,000 Cash Deposit Locations in Brazil, Russia, USA - BitInstant on: May 27, 2012, 04:12:13 AM
I tried to use this service today but I think I made a mistake.  I tried to get $103.95 of bitcoins.  But, when I talked to the guy on the phone, I deposited only $100.00.  thus zipzap rejected the payment.  Then I tried to get my money back but was put on hold 10 minutes before hanging up.   I went home and re-did the procedure.  After 15 minutes the guy answered and I got a number to get my money back.  To receive payment you have to give a photo id which I did not really like doing.  May try again in a couple days.

So in summary it would be nice if you lower the minimum amount to $100 that zipzap would accept that way we could just put a $100 bill in the machine.
296  Other / Politics & Society / Deficit spending is theft. on: May 11, 2012, 10:11:37 AM
Ron Paul states deficit spending is a tax.  But, is not deficit spending really theft.  It is no different that if they go around take money out off everybody's bank accounts and wallets.  Then they go around like your kids are going to have to pay it back.  It all is a big government lie.  Only people with bank accounts are going to pay it back.  Your kids are never going to pay it back, because the debt will be even higher.  They don't give a crap as long as they get to spend it on earned income tax credits for millionaires or line the pockets of their friends.  Government spending is money to the rich.  The poor are to busy working mowing lawns and washing windows.   How do they get paid, from the money they stole out of the laborers wallet.  So you really think Obama is out to help you, Obamcare?  that is your money anyways, Obama could implement the Japanese system and really save you a bunch of cash.  Washington has been infiltrated by idiots and the only hope to get them (the rats) out is currency crash.  End of the U.S. dollar.

end of my 3;00 am rant. gn

$3.4 billion is lost every year to earned income tax credit on children that actually live in Mexico.
298  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where can I find an anarchy? on: May 09, 2012, 08:51:57 PM

I hope Somalia continues it's course toward a free society and rejects the attempts by the UN to install a democracy.

So true.  Somalia does not need to make the mistake of the Europe or the United States again.  Governments start out protecting the people, in the end they steal from the people.  I did notice there is still law in Somalia.  If you lived in a gated community and your business had guards Somalia would be better off without any government.
299  Economy / Securities / Re: Idea for glbse business - Nickels Manufacturing on: May 09, 2012, 07:28:33 AM
CNC cost from $1000 to $10,000.  There are also plasma cutters and laser paper cutters.  I read about people making guitars with a cnc machine making $100K a year.
300  Economy / Securities / Re: Idea for glbse business - Nickels Manufacturing on: May 09, 2012, 07:18:26 AM
You're raising funds for a CNC machine to make plywood boxes for nickels? < Not sure if serious >

Worse than that I am offering the idea.  hoping someone would take over a CEO as my mechanical skills even with a CNC are bad.   I was trying to think of some business other than lending or mining that would work.  Everybody likes silver and gold, but the real untapped coins are pennies before 1982 and nickels.  In 1970 you could go to Las Vegas and if you went to some casinos, they use real silver dollars.  We are in that era for pennies and nickels now.
