How far have you been able push your 10 chip bitburner boards with cgminer?

Im getting a (5s) average of around 4Gh/s.. Im using part of the command found here buried deep in this thread..

--avalon-options 115200:2:10:29:415 --avalon-temp 58 --avalon-freq 415 --bitburner-voltage 1280 --avalon-fan 100 --queue 4

We have reached September! Knc time for some news about chips!
Word has it, they are the tastiest chips around, cooked by top Swedish chef's!

Is that the chef from the muppets Smiley

What hash rate are you able to get your bitburner to? I'm trying to find a decent cgminer setting

After many tests it looks like these are my best settings: 28ms, 450MHz, 1334mV, target temp 30°C and it runs with 53°C giving in average 43.8GH which means 8.76GH per bitburner xx.

I would like to run 5 miners with 5 different settings to test it out but till now i still wait for the answer if its possible to do without the first cgminer finding all miners and using them all.
Can you share your cgminer cmd line or config?

hmm hp10 blows up on my core i7 795 box..

Just fyi, i tracked this down.. some how I added some text to my primecoin.conf file .. I think I had it open and adjusted some info but had some random chrs on one line, so yea this crashed the app.. prob shouldn't do that, but if your seeing something similar maybe look in your config..

someone noticed the networkspeed after diff up on http://allchains.info/ ??

Its about 691030.03 GH/s  Shocked

it's this at the moment: https://blockexplorer.com/q/estimate

Since it just changed it needs a bit of blocks to go by before getting more of a better estimate.. I see this every time the next estimate is super high but clams down.. im guessing prob in the next 11 days (when the next change will be give or take a 1 or hours) it will go from 69mil (btw great number) to 80mil..  and just to let you know by the current average of diff changes every 11 days we have 11 more of these till Jan 1st..

295  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: August 20, 2013, 09:51:38 PM
I'd like to write today about a small piece of why we are confident our product is better than KnCs.

So today's topic: Our silicon design is superior.

Both are 28nm designs, but HashFast's is far more powerful and energy-efficient.

Let's look at KnC's 28nm ASIC, and some basic details as we can pull from their documentation. https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-25

First let's calculate the hash rate per square millimeter of silicon. This is a measure of the efficiency of the design.

Honestly, we don't need much to estimate this. The lid size for their chip is enough to make some good estimates.

KnC's diagram shows their chip has a 41.2mm lid, and implies that the silicon under that lid may be between 30mm x 30mm, and 36mm x 36mm. (The additional space is needed for decoupling capacitors and such.)
Let's use those two numbers as bounds for the size of the silicon under the lid. If the die(s) take up just 30x30mm of the space under the lid, then:
     30x30mm = 900mm^2
     100 GHash / 900 mm^2 = 0.11 GHash/mm^2

Or if the die takes up a bit more of the space under the lid,
      36x36mm = 1296mm^2
      100 GHash / 1296mm^2 = 0.077 GHash/mm^2

HashFast's Golden Nonce chip: I don't have to estimate the size because I work at HashFast. Smiley
One 18x18mm die is able to do 400 GHash (nominal - more overclocked**)
   Hashing per square mm:
      18x18mm = 324mm^2
      400 GHash / 324mm^2 = 1.23 GHash/mm^2

Let's compare those numbers, for the high and low values for KnC's chip:

      1.23 / 0.11 = 11.2
      1.23 / 0.077 = 16

So HashFast's chip is between 11 and 16 times more efficient, in hashing per square mm, than KnC's chip.

This has an impact on how fast we can deliver units to customers. One wafer of HashFast's chips has the same capacity as 11 to 16 wafers of KNCs. For each silicon wafer delivered by the foundry, KNC will be able to satisfy 11 to 16 times fewer customers than HashFast will be able to. You'll get your units faster once production starts from us.

In addition, the HashFast chip operates much more efficiently. You get four times the hash rate for the same amount of power (250W). (Based on 250W for 100 GHash from KnC, and 250W for 400 GHash from HashFast.)

Calculations such as this are a small part of why we are confident that we are delivering a quality product to our customers.

We figure it's time to start sharing.

** P.S. Simon made me put in the line about overclocking. But as per the 'warranty' thread, no one would ever do that to our beautiful chips, right? Wink

Nice Info Amy!

I just thought of something, we put everyone here thats arguing, trolling or just being a dick into one ring and let everyone duke it out.. but honestly guys that being said this bs is getting old..

sorry its just not productive.. :/

One thing I have noticed and its a general theme here on the forums for companies selling ASIC that with Bitcoin still not recognized as any sort of official currency by the US Government and other Governments you as a business owner risk potential issues, one of them being the power of Credit Card Companies (Bank Institutions) that Bitcoin was developed to side step have the power to close accounts, put accounts on hold for what ever reason.  We have seen several examples of this already happening for one reason or the other.

While CC's offer a protection for the end customer this is very high risk right now for a business owner esp when millions of dollars are involved, last thing anyone wants both consumer and producer is to have the company go under because of the power institutions can hold over them.

We are all here to mine Bitcoin for what ever personal reasons are and I think most are looking for money making boxes, we all believe in Bitcoin as a system that provides a side step to what banks and other institutions impose on us.

So yea it sucks but its a fact of life right now until esp in the US BTC can be seen as a low risk by credit card companies and its really hard to find anyone here selling hardware that does accept CC's for the reasons I stated above.

On one hand everyone wants protection in a risky business (high risk high reward maybe), but on the other hand of that company cant function due to funds being held for what ever reason it doesn't benefit anyone.

just a perspective.

Don't think you actually thought things through even though this has been discussed about 1000 times so far Roll Eyes. When using BTC the risk goes exclusively to the buyer. When using CC the company has to assume some risk as well because there might be a few people that will ask for a refund. This is normal and should be part of the business plan. If you can not assume even that small amount of risk especially at this stage in the game, you'll have to understand why KNC raked in thousands of orders while these guys are struggling to sell 500 units.

Frankly cypherdoc's explanation of the punk scenario is laughable. Should we also assume that only punks order from HashFast? That's ridiculous. Also, I am sure this is not news for many people but KNC accepts cc/Paypal, Cointerra will as well according to the latest news and if I am not mistaken Bitfury does as well (could be wrong about this one).

I did think it though and one flaw of btc is that the buy doesn't have any protection.. I'm still trying to find a company selling mining hardware and accepting cc
298  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast Store is Live! on: August 17, 2013, 04:24:56 PM
let's extend your point even further looking into the future.

everyone here, especially eve, keeps spamming the threads about using cc's and paypal.  what about the punk that orders from the company that has stock in hand with cc/pp?  he receives his machine within a week of ordering, plugs it in, and starts mining.  60d later minus one week, he claims it's not working, sends it back, and does a chargeback.

so many of you want to get the best of both worlds when it comes to this intersection of BTC vs cc/pp.  it's not going to happen.

Yea another thing to worry about as a business, while I would hope it doesn't happen here, its a fact of life :/

It happened to the company that built my gpu miners from back in 2011.

When paypal figured out they were selling bitcoin related stuff they stepped in and unilaterally canceled my order.

I'm actually very surprised that KNC had been allowed to push millions of USD'S thru paypal  like this. Makes me wonder what they've told them upfront.

Assuming the best that paypal knows what's going on, from Bitcoin's perspective as a payment system, this is fantastic news. It means that paypal has capitulated and has allowed their money grubbing selves to surface. Kudos to KNC for making that happen.

Otoh, if PayPal doesn't know what's going on, there indeed does exist the possibility of account freezing.

I'd put that at a very small risk at this point.

They've changed their policies.

Just search for paypal on the forum also their is an extensive thread on reddit about some issues anyhow.
