281  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] funded 0.25 XMR Monero collectible giftcard feat MoonBits | 5/128 left on: August 05, 2023, 12:41:07 AM
maybe it has something to do with the block height, his other wallet has txns showing from 2020 to present - so maybe it just isn't going back far enough. If so, then that is a simple answer and and has an easy fix.

Thank you - will let you know shortly if this works.

Yes, the wallet where I could specify a block "start" time back to 1/1/2019 worked. My guess is the other wallets were pruning the old txns.
Glad this is solved and you were able to access the 0.25 XMR.

On another note: Anyone familiar with an option to view multiple addresses (view only wallet style) in one go? It's very inconvenient if you have say 5+ XMR addresses to check each one of these individually. Would be cool to have an option to bundle these together.
Might make a post in the Monero thread if nothing comes up hear.
282  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Alpen Coin "Scam Coin" on: August 05, 2023, 12:36:48 AM
I did read his posts and he stated that the funding would go to one coin not with majority to one and some to all the others.

So I dont think that was "left open"

hence why I said there should be no voting. this is Frank's decision.

there was the first post where he stated all the funding would go to the one coin

then there was the post you quoted - where he said something about 50% loss and the rest to "winner" but he also in that same post stated he like the "Rekt" (which I take as referring to the original - all funding to the one coin)

either way It should be up to Frank not us.

And hence where the open comes from in the 1st post from Frank:

"Of course there is still a lot of question: material of the coin, design, price,... this is an open thread"

Agree, it's ultimately up to Frank but the spirit of his words seem to lean toward community involvement, which is why said it appears a vote will be needed.  Also, appears doesn't mandate anything but merely hints.
I guess it's a matter of taste regarding funding of the rekt coins or not. My taste is very clear: Some dust is 100 times better than nothing. It kind of reflects scam reality, you usually are left with something (see FTX, yogg cards etc) but mostly nothing compared to what you should still have.
Also, generally speaking, I belive the value of coins with crypto (and may it only be a few bucks) is way higher than unloaded stuff. Just my view.
Yes, it's up to Frank, but it is also up to the community to speak their mind and give input/ideas on the subject. What Frank does with this input is obviously up to him.

I'd like to hear what others think about the general coin funding topic.

Nice teaser pic @ Mopar.
283  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Still looking to purchase a 2018 denarium 2oz pure gold bar p on: August 05, 2023, 12:24:08 AM
Good luck with your search. I have only seen pictures of this bar; never up for sale. Definitely the best looking bar out there IMO
I feel the same. Generally not the biggest fan of Denarium but man, what an amazing bar. And generally even 2oz silver items are rare, but gold even more so.
And a highroller item for sure - how much was the load for these? - I don't see it on the photo.
284  Local / Mining (Deutsch) / Re: Groupbuy Solo Mining - Blockparty 2023 Number 45 on: August 04, 2023, 11:13:46 PM

285  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Alpen Coin "Scam Coin" on: August 03, 2023, 08:30:31 PM
I like 2stouts idea. Generally I would be in for anything ranging from 0.001 to 0.004 BTC per coin-buyer. -> I think we should either aim for a a clean sum for the "winner" coin or for a clean sum for the rekt coins each.
In your example the clean sum means 0.001 per rekt coin, which is probably the better way than vice versa -> for example 0.05 for the winner and remaining 0.03/40 = 0.00075 for the rect coins. With other total sums (more or less than 40*0.002 = 0.08) we can also find some "good looking" distributions.

The way Mopar describes it sounds reasonable regarding true unknown winner coin. Maybe some way to prove it would be nice (invite a thrid party to both MJ and Mopar). Not that I don't trust you guys, but it would exponentially increase trust as 4 people instead of 2 would need to be compromised.

~snipped~
btw, I've been in the crypto space for even longer and been on Bitcointalk since eraly 2016 but forgot my old login data, as I wasn't really checking this forum much back in the day.
You've been here that long but you seem not to have given yourself enough time for perusal or trust information from historical data to make forecast of the future. If there were any skepticism on Bitcoin, I think it's gradually getting dismantled now unlike what we had in the past. I don't see why you still hodl tenaciously to things going wrong while we approach a halving year. Listen, I'm not saying Bitcoin doesn't take a beat up from time to time but I haven't seen that beat up take place during halving or post halving. Anyway, I've said enough already on this from my conviction. Your reality and expectations don't have to align with mine, neither do mine with yours.
I think you should re-read what I wrote again.
First of all, I do have certain expectations/hopes. But I am not delusional in the way that I would state them as facts and certainty. There is a good chance we see a pretty nice Bitcoin price increase close before or after the next halving. But, again, it is not set in stone. No one can predict what's coming.
I replied to the post because it implied things were certain. That's my point of critique. Because nothing is certain and another ATH definetely isn't certain at all. Even though I believe there is a good chance, I would never write a sentence saying "Bitcoin will reach $100k at that and that date 100%". Because it's utter bs. And the longer you are in this crypto space, the less you should tend to make these prophet-like statements.
Any kind of guru-ism or prophet like predictions are toxic to any new investors with little experience.
You can be a true believer (I'd call it more an understander - education is key here) in Bitcoin and still avoid that stuff (predictions) like the plague.
287  Economy / Collectibles / Re: I'm Selling My Huge Coin Collection on: August 03, 2023, 12:25:26 PM
Hello everyone,

Due to the financial problems I have been experiencing, I am putting up for sale my antique coin collection that I have been working on for 30 years. My collection consists of thousands of coins. It consists of the coins of empires that no longer exist, coins from ancient times, coins specially produced for collectors, and many more invaluable silver and gold coins.I'm a newbie so I can't upload photos here. But I can send photos of all the pieces of my collection via Telegram.

It is essential to use escrow in our shopping!

Telegram: @rebelwulf
You mentioned gold and silver coins.
Can you post some photos of specifically these? - As someone else already said, these are the most likely to get some interest here.
Also, what ChiBitCTy said - Directly posting tons of individual photos / links here isn't really convenient. Try to find a service that allows the creation of an album that lets you easily scroll through everything. Ideally you can add some info on where you obtained the coins, if you do have a certificate or other credentials etc.

Good luck with your sale.
288  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO][ARTIST] Bitcoin Apex Art on: August 03, 2023, 12:17:57 PM
Cool stuff, thanks for the info, aoluain.
Pretty incredible skill to draw like that.

I see normal prints and limited art prints - wonder if the original drawings are ever sold? Would be awesome to have an original.

290  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Article] Litecoin Halving & a pic of a PCGS slabbed Ballet wallet on: August 02, 2023, 07:10:30 PM
coblee had one for sale - he posted it on here a while back.

coblee will also have approx 500 more for the current halving 6.25 LTC he said the wallets will cost approx 1000 USD
Love these "fresh" coin collectibles.
Do you have any info as to when these will be released? @Mopar?

Slightly OT, but is there a list of Bitcoin collectibles that was funded directly from a block reward?
291  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: August 02, 2023, 07:07:56 PM
Nice to see a new website design. Quite some development since the launch of this project.

Shame I missed the contest deadline.
Had a few concepts in mind, here is one of them.

If still interested in these, pm me.

[...] Of course, the expected rally that will take Bitcoin to an unprecedented height in 2025 will be without comparison. [...]
It's kind of reckless to just make a statement (marked in italics above) as if it were set in stone.
I don't know how "reckless" you think that comment is when you see something reoccurring over and over. Both of us have witnessed two full Bitcoin circles since we registered here. Your profile tells me that we both got in here the same month. It's also likely that we may have passed through one or two similar experiences as members here, isn't it? So, what makes my being certain that halving history will repeat itself as was in the past "reckless"? Yes, I know this is crypto and there shouldn't be strong hold on certainty but I want to differ on that in relation to halving. Bitcoin will experience another ATH after halving. Mark my word.

English is not my native language, so reckless may be too strong of a word.
Generally speaking I think it's not a wise way to be "certain" about any kind of upcoming market situation (unless you truely have insider information). That's why, even with previous experiences it seems irresponsible to me to state anything like this prediction as facts - because it still is just speculation.
Especially for newbies, let's assume they have a certain expectation - if it doesn't turn out to be true this time, they might just panic sell at a certain point and hate Bitcoin from then on. Sure, not a wise decision, but just how people tend to behave if they have certain expectations without a solid foundation of knowledge and it turns out these expectations are not met.
btw, I've been in the crypto space for even longer and been on Bitcointalk since eraly 2016 but forgot my old login data, as I wasn't really checking this forum much back in the day.
293  Local / Mining (Deutsch) / Re: Groupbuy Solo Mining - Blockparty 2023 Number 44 on: August 02, 2023, 04:22:16 PM
Generally agree with the sentiment, slightly longer but lower hashrate reduces variance coming from sudden changes in total hashrate of the network a little bit.
That said, it shouldn't make a difference on average, sometimes you are lucky and have less competition and sometimes more.
But it certainly is more fun to "watch" for a longer period of time. Otherwise we could just rent 500 PH/s for two hours or so. :s

Okay thanks for the info and thank you @ cygan for handling this.
haloxon should be eligable for a a4 print, too.

@seek3r Mopar posted a pic of the card in a magnetic acrylic glass holder, looks dope imho. I mean almost everything that fits these does, haha.
295  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Crypto Silver lots on: August 02, 2023, 04:11:50 PM
What's the story with these 1g silver bars? Love their looks, guess I'm just a sucker for tiny silver Bitcoin themed stuff.
Any numbers on mintage etc.? Are there similar bars out there?
Thanks.

In any case:

Just checking in, any update on the distribution for our Euro based folks?

i am now finally able to send these cards to the eu people Smiley
so i would ask haloxon and all others to send me a pm with their addresses.
Hi there, just checking in real quick, were the cards send out to the EU-based folks?
Would be nice if this chapter can be closed for good, it's about time to move on. We got new scams around the corner... *Titan cough*... sadlol.
297  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: ELECTRUM HELP on: August 01, 2023, 12:55:47 PM
Hi

I've just had something happen I've not experienced before with Electrum - as soon as a transaction appeared (deposit to wallet) a corresponding outward transaction for the same amount was processed.  Both transactions have finalised and I've ended up with a zero balance.  Is there a contact or address for ELectrum support to see if there is a software issue or has someone managed to bypass my security and automate a withdrawal?

Any help appreciated

Todd

Some questions here:
1. On which device are you running Electrum? On a windows machine or your phone etc.?
It seems the device you are using is compromised.
2. Also, is your wallet password protected?
3. Another important question: How did you obtain your wallet - which website did you download it from?
4. Which version of Electrum are you using?
There was a vulnerability in an older version of Electrum that would prompt you with an update request and if you followed through on that it would download a malware version of Electrum.

btw, there is a dedicated wallet section on Bitcointalk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=37.0
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 will determined bitcoin fate on: August 01, 2023, 12:25:01 AM
Here’s how I see the halving-price correlation:
- 2012 halving 2013 ATH
- 2016 halving 2017 ATH
- 2020 halving 2021 ATH
- 2024 halving … you get it Cheesy
You're absolutely right on the timing for bull rally. I witnessed the 2017 and 2021 ATHs and how they played out and later went into bear rally a year after ATH. I've come to conclude (as it were now) that the bullish run begins to manifest a year before Bitcoin halving and then gets to its crescendo a year after halving. We're in 2023 (pre-halving year) and Bitcoin isn't showing any sign of weakness. It goes to show how prepared investors are gearing towards getting in before the halving year itself. Of course, the expected rally that will take Bitcoin to an unprecedented height in 2025 will be without comparison. I want to believe that newbies to this industry are already preparing themselves for 2025 to enjoy the momentum by making investment a priority.

It's kind of reckless to just make a statement (marked in italics above) as if it were set in stone.
Personally I also believe there is a high chance of another ATH somewhere closely after or before the next halving cycle - however it is everything but guranteed.

One important thing to consider: The more certain a market move seems, the more people are aware of it beforehand, the less likely it is to happen - because everybody already has the information, it could alreay be priced in.
Still, there could be an overlap of other cycles and these in combination with increased scarcity of BTC gives a good chance for another massive bullrun within the next 1 - 2 years. Also, increased adoption is always in favour of Bitcoin and it's never certain when major steps on that path will be reached. Maybe sooner than later.
299  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] funded 0.25 XMR Monero collectible giftcard feat MoonBits | 5/128 left on: August 01, 2023, 12:19:01 AM
For Menorujo, I wanted to create a pictured step-by-step guide on how to import your private key, but it doesn't even allow me take a screenshot. That said, the process is pretty "intuitive". Here is how it's done:
- In the main menu page click the + Icon. -> Then select either Restore view-only wallet or Restore wallet from private keys.
- Now enter the required keys. Either public only or public and private if you want to spend your funds plus your public address. The private key is below your hologram, everything else if public domain and can be found here: https://github.com/LIMXTEC/MoonBits/blob/master/Monero/2019.md
Set a wallet name and a password. And make sure to use a restore date from before when the transaction was made (use 2019-01-01 to be on the safe side).
- Your wallet will now needs to synchronize. Don't open other apps or minimize monerujo in the progress. It's a flaw in the app, but to safe your sync progress you need to press the "back" button on your phone (while on the screen where it syncs and shows your current wallet status), only then it will be permanently stored in your phone. If you just close the wallet or switch to another app, the program will return to the main screen and your sync progress is lost.

Download: https://www.getmonero.org/downloads/

With GUI-wallet the process of re-importing your wallet will not differ too much from the above.
